This is my first development in windows mobile to have an attractive speedo on the car dash.
Make sure you have .net framework installed. The setings.exe included in the attachment is from the Microsoft SDK samples, which can be used to set the COM port if you dont' have any other application.
This has been tested in HTC P3300 (Artemis). Give a try and let me know if it works for you.

It looks promising....can you tell me whether the app shows speed in miles or kilometres??? If it's in iles can you make an option to show speed in kilometers....and if it's in kilometers can you extend the scale to at least 250 Km per hour?

By default it shows the km. I have provided an option to display in Mph. Because of the image I had to restrict with less km. I will increase the limit atleast to 220 later.

Come on tell me that you have never checked how fast your car can go?
Besides it was at night on a motorway and the nearest car was probably a few kilometers away from mine ....so no harm done.

@gopinathann:
please, whats about a vga-version???
nice!
Other resolutions like VGA or WVGA would be useful...
what exactly mean green parth of picture?
can u make it go up to 300km/h wanted to do a top speed run (on the track) on the bike and the indicated speedo is always off.
Actually, I was wondering... Why would I need a speedometer in my car when the car has one?
It's fun to have though, and it looks pretty cool.
Maybe when cycling, but that means either cycle with 1 hand, or find a mount that fits a bike.

This one was inspired by Civic like Digital displays. However it can be used when you are travelling in train/bus to check the speeds.
I have created this for the VGA version, those who have VGA devices can try. There could be some misalignment in the first page, bear with that.
My jetta goes faster than 160.
I'm sure the number part still works after it has hit the top speed on the picture.
Whats about little more usefull things? Can you implement an indicator for max-speed and average speed? I think thats looks great right and left from the close-button in orange-coloured digits...

Works well on my Touch Pro...
Conversion from KPH->MPH seems to be a bit off... but maybe it's just me, I didn't have the conversion factor around with me. Speedometer said 70 MPH, tuning software said 70 MPH, GPS on phone said 78 MPH... The marks on the speedo, though tougher to read, said about 110 kph, which seems right for 70 mph. If I switched the phone to KPH it said 112... so it seems like the conversion is wrong?
would be cool if you could program a timer for 0-100kph to check how fast the car acceleration is.
Just like to say this works great on my Touch HD. Bit of a lifesaver actually, as my Renault Scenic instrument cluster has gone tits up and this actually keepss things legal for me whilst awaiting refurbished das unit! Many tx, excellent peice of kit :0)

When i want to add more cities it opens the adding windows, but there is no keyboard accessible to type in the city name. How should i do that?

I tried tapping every single pixel on the screen and nothing seems to shut it off.

Wow,
please make it for germany.
Nice, gonna try this. It's not for (w)vga screens though, is it?
Is there a specific reason why it is not avaible in Germany?
Could you make the current speed a bit bigger? This way its better readable next to the big max limit sign
Also, does the application notify me of the difference between cameras?
Like:
Normal speedcam
Trafficlight/speedcam
Fixed average speed check cam/route
its not working on me htc hd2
+1 on Germany (maybe Switz. too). Worst part about Germany though is the temporary camera on the autobahn. =/
Works fine on HD2.
- maybe the speed display could be bigger.
- I have seen a radar misplaced of 30-40 meters, i'd like to edit my local database, then sync with the server.
I don't like to play with my phone while driving, so editing the database at home would be fine.
With some little mods , this soft will be better than paying ones.
Good job, thanks.
I guess its not available in Germany because radar applications are forbidden in this country, even ur tomtom is not allowed to give u a hint to slow down ...
Nice app! Will test this soon

Rather important bug
First of all, let me just say well done and thank you for making such a cool application!
I tested this while in the car with my wife this afternoon (she was driving while I played!). We live in the UK, and everything is in miles per hour here.
When I first started your app the camera warning speed was in miles/h, but the current speed was in km/h, so I ticked the 'km/h or miles/hour' option in the settings. The current speed now changed to miles/h, but the camera warning speed dropped to a lower (incorrect) number.
For example, with a 30 mph camera coming up, and with us traveling at just under that speed, we got the following results:
With the 'km/h or miles/hour' option ticked, the camera warning speed was correct (30), but the car speed was reported at about 47 kph (and the software seemed to warn us that we were going too fast).
With the 'km/h or miles/hour' option unticked, the car speed was correctly reported in mph (29-30), but the warning sign speed was now showing 20, so again were warned that we were going too quick! I'm guessing this is just a simple variable somewhere that needs changing.
However, perhaps it would be an idea to have two seperate tick box options in the settings to cater for every country, one option for the vehicle speed, and one for the camera warning speed (with just a little extra code to do the conversion between the two when doing the real-time comparing of the current speed to that of the camera?).
Again, fantasic bit of software, and other than the bug I mentioned, everything else seems to work fine.
Thank you for the great application once again, and I look forward to testing it again!
p.s. This was on a HTC Touch HD2 by the way.
-Mike
Australia please??
Excellent idea.
I'll test it tomorrow!
thx. a lot!
looks nice but ionno... the interface is off
Hi,

Description:
MyWeight is a mobile application for those of you who want to keep their daily weight records under control. Comparing them against Body Mass Index (BMI) you are immediately informed if you are doing good or bad with your mass.
Features:
- record your daily weight (and height if still growing up) with a short info when necessary
- present your records on a chart with a time range option
- manage several profiles for more people records
- multilanguage support (English, Polish and German)
- support for imperial (lbs/in) and metric (kg/cm) units
- import and export functions to transfer data between the application and csv file format
The most recent version is always available on my site http://www.genec.eu/MyWeight.aspx
Overall feedback shows that application works fine on the most mobiles. However I received two emails describing an issue with buttons on the main screen which do not disappear when user goes ie. to "About" page. It happend for a particular HD2 and Touch HD, but other owners of these device models state that the application works ok. I am still investigating this issue.
Hope you will provide me with some constructive feedback about this app.
Thanks,
genec

Cool app.
Since touch screens can measure degrees of pressure applied, it would be great if we could use the touch screens on our phones as a scale to weigh ourselves.

yes because our phones can handle 100+lbs on them...
Just downloaded to try it out.
A small point - for those of us of advancing years, a quicker way of setting the date of birth than having to step back month by month would be great (or did I miss the easier way?)
Thanks!
Cool. I'll give it a go.
Need any help with a Dutch translation?
Can you please add some screenshots?
Thanks
Date of birth:
AFAIK I can use software keyboard to provide the value directly. Or even using software cursors to change a year, month or a day.
Translation:
At the current stage I'm not planing to add another translations - but if more people will ask for this change I would make it.
Screenshots:
I am a new user and still prohibited from including any links on the forum.
However you can visit my page related to the MyWeight by using the following address : genec.eu/myweight.aspx
There are some screenshots and the most recent description for the app.
Thanks,
genec

Hello "genec",
Please give me some files, could do the translation into Spanish. This program is very interesting. You could also include, as a measure of calculation, the diameter of the waist.
Let me know something about the issue of translation.
Regards,
Ok, please give me some time to prepare a text spreadsheet for translation purposes. I will add the link on my website and in case of any other languages need (including Dutch - mentioned previously) it will be available for download, translation and sending me back.
Regarding the "waist recording" - this feature would be added in the future but I have to rethink this concept first.
Thanks,
genec
It is nice and works well on my HTC TP. There is an spelling error on BMI table under "severely underwght" legend. Also I would like to see an option to select Kg/Lbs and cm/In in my specific case my scale is in Lbs and my tape mesuare is in meters
Hi genec,
can we have some screenshots from you?
The it is easier to make myself, and possiible others too, a picture from our app.
GUI Question:
have you used the sense sdk's here from xda, or have you made a different look?
I cannot add any links yet (xda spam prevention).
No I haven't used the "sense sdk" from here and haven't changed the application appearance since it's beggining. I've made it in VS2008 using standard form controls. This app is really simple just to allow quick saving of weight result and browse the results if needed.
Thanks,
genec
Thx for your program, works very well so far.
Can you build in some average value for the weight?
Larry
npoe: "severely underwght." had to be short to fit the screen on some devices. Splitting cattegories Kg/Lbs and cm/In might be a good idea.
Larry Brent: I wanted to create more smooth chart based on average values but the results precision become more important in this case. Maybe in the future I will provide average value with another similar feature.
Thanks,
genec

Here is a file for those who would like to translate a few sentences in another language. I will modify application ASAP if you send me the file back.

Hi XDA guys,
Let me introduce you my second watchface for Android Wear, available on Google Play for free.
This is a very simple watchface, no useless stuff, no useless draws, no useless feature. Only brighting dots on a grid which represents the time, the wear battery level (as a gauge on the left of the screen), the mobile battery level (as an inverted gauge on the right of the screen), and the date.
A very nice animation is showing each time a digit has to change. Also a smooth and discreet glow animation is showing on leaving ambient mode for interactive mode.
Note that this application is fully optimized to save your battery life, only one computation per minute !
Retro and futurist at the same time, let be seduced by the lot of available colors for the brighting dots and the "non-brighting" dots.
If you dislike the square pixels, try to set the "dots style" to round in the settings (from wear or mobile companion app).
It could be adapted for square wears if the "arc gauges" hurt your eyes : simply set the battery style to "lines".
Many formats are available for the date, for each taste
Free on Google Play : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.yochi376.dotswatchface
Can you please keep me informed if any issue occurs, or if you have some more requirements for this watchface ? I will be a pleasure to develop this watchface for you.

Hi Redbred, it's not so hard to make these kind of images. I'm currently using Gimp. Use the deformation tools for the "parallaxe" effect on a real watch. And for the "mirror" effect, just copy-past your image in a new layer, apply a vertical mirror transformation, then add a "layer mask" on this layer, and finally a gradient on this one.
Here's a simple tutorial (in french, sorry !) http://www.clubic.com/telecharger/logiciel-retouche-photo/the-gimp/aide-astuce-tuto/faire-un-effet-miroir-avec-gimp-14872.html

Adds a configurable Energy Ring around the camera lens indicating current Battery level. Dive into the various configuration options, not only you can quickly glance and get the battery info but, Energy Ring adds an accent to your phone's camera lens.
Got a full charge? The Ring will be a 360 degree wrap around the front camera lens.
Battery depleting? So will the arc of Energy Ring.
Out of the box features:-
✓ Energy Ring can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to a donut thick ring
✓ Energy Ring puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
✓ Energy Ring's direction can be configured as clockwise/bidirectional/anti-clockwise
✓ Energy Ring can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
✓ Energy Ring can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
✓ Energy Ring could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient (pro)
✓ You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
✓ Energy Ring has a number of cool animations whenever a power source is plugged into your device
The App in action on a Galaxy Z Flip, Fold 3, Pixel 5a: (Looking for photos of your device, please attach them!)
All that is cool! But what about Energy Ring consuming Battery?!
This is one of the most exciting question for me to answer. Energy Ring more than anything understands that you need to utilize your battery efficiently (after all, that's why you installed the App, right? .) Energy Ring sits on the screen silently putting almost 0% load on CPU, if battery level changes, Android wakes up Energy Ring. Once awake, Energy Ring quickly updates itself and goes back to sleep. And to be that extra efficient, the Ring goes on deep sleep when you turn off the screen, meaning it doesn't even read changes in battery level when the screen is off.
Accessibility Service Requirement:
Android requires Energy Ring to run as an Accessibility Service, to be able to display on Lock Screen. It does not read/monitor any data, whatsoever. This is especially useful for people who have disability to read numbers and work better with visual data.
Download now from Google Play Store! And if you like, please leave a rating.
Can't seem to download this on Google play store, it's taking forever, I want to try out this app.
for some reason the ring is not aligned around the punchhole cam of my 9s. its thicker in the top of the circle and thin on the bottom
It's not quite alligned correctly. Is there anyway to manually reallign it??
Thanks.
Great idea for an app and great execution! :good:
However, I too have the same issue as the guys above. It's misaligned on my Note 9s/curtana.
Made THIS video to show it better, it's very evident at 1 pixel thickness.
Only installed it a few minutes ago but it's a nice idea and looks to be working as described.
I also had another issue. Let the app stay overnight but just now I noticed it wasn't working. It was enabled in accessibility options but for some reason the ring wasn't on and the app was telling me I did not enable it.
After I forced closed it and opened it again it started working. Phone is brand new and I haven't done any meddling with it.
Great app. No battery drain but the position is bad. It is slightly above the punch hole. Hope to get fix soon. Thanks
Working perfect, love this

Hi!
Thank you for your interest, I am looking for testers to calibrate Energy Ring for this device.
What would consider an ideal tester:
#1 Have sufficient free time, say at least 30 minutes.
#2 Have a hell lot of patience, the calibration takes some time, might be frustrated in adjusting the sliders by pixels.
#3 Have another phone/camera to take a physical photo (not screenshot) of your phone.
If you meet the above requirements, please share me your Telegram/Skype ID.
Cheers!

Yes, but no telegram/Skype here, are you ok with email/zoom/hangouts?
New version from today is much better, thanks!
(But it seems to me that the center should be one pixel lower? Maybe it's just parallax)
