There are a few apps that do the same as this floating around, but most have requirements like .Net CF 3.5 or similar. This also gave me a chance to demonstrate my new set of controls for C++. (the slider, the buttons at the bottom etc.)
What it does:
Configures SMS Sent notification, SMS delivery receipts, Threaded SMS.
It can be skinned (if you know what you're doing with res hacker) by editing l3v5yExtendedFunctionsResources.dll that should reside in \Windows.
Install it, and restart your device. SMS Settings can be found under Start->Settings->System tab.
Tested on my Diamond and Prophet, and in the WM5 emulators, so should work on all WM5+ Pocket PC devices.
Note, SMS threading will only work on WM6.1 ROMs, since it's OS dependant...

Yes I saw that. I could also give it a TF3D slider like look or an comm manager like one. I don't know if you have bigger plans for this app, looking at the resources I think you do. I could make it look completely htc-ish if you give me a little more skinablility Your call, 12

The l3v5yExtendedFunctions file contains loads of other controls which I haven't quite finished off, and the l3v5yExtendedFunctionsResources file contains images for that. What would you need to get better skinability?
The buttons are generated at run time (by l3v5yExtendedFunctions), using values sent by SMS Settings, so they can be configured. All the other images are loaded straight from the resources file (checkbox, up/down button currently, with more to come). Having nicer, HTC styled images would be nice though.
I will be releasing the framework for other developers at some point in the future...

Ok I skinned the rest, I hope you like it. I'm not entirly sure if the checkboxes will take, as there seems to be a lot of fifferents colors for transparent in bmp (which I imagine black is in yours). I meant background skinning and maybe the buttons, to complete the style , 12

Currently, there's no transparency, though I'll add that (would a bright pink be a better transparent colour than black?). Would that make it easier for you to implement?
Both the background and the buttons are made by drawing a gradient across a rectangle. I can replace this with a bitmap or other image though...
The up/down looks really nice! Thanks for that!

+1 only VGA? thank you
should work in any resolution.
try it on your own!
Tried it on Elf, stock wm6 rom. Works quite well, both from internal memory and from Storage Card! Eats about 2MB of memory while running with 6-7 tasks. Definitely awesome for a beta version, didn't try to figure out skinning yet so I don't know if it works. Only complaint is the bottom bar, it would look much better full screen. Super thanks for taking the time to update the code!
edit: and about 1.5MB without any tasks open. Wheep, that's a lot!

well, can't argue on that.
even worse, not only it keeps snapshots of all running apps. It takes new ones from time to time, so some productivity overhead as well.
for me, just keep Vista in mind.

tiny bug
I have MWC2 cursors installed and everytime i use dynamo the cursor keeps on running and running... I have to either exit dynamo (completely stop it) or completely exit MWC2 cursors..
By the way THANKS for the update and its working perfect on my TMo wing 6.0
Hey gps-lover. Huge thanks for taking the lead on this. Couple of things that I think should be addressed. First of all, I agree that the bottom bar isn't really necessary. Full screen would be welcome here. Also, the re-addition of settings back into the program is needed, and I'd love to see the ability to set a background image, not just a color. Another thing I'd like to see is to have tap-and-hold close a program. Having thumbnails of programs, but then having to click a teeny tiny X if you want to close one kind of defeats part of the purpose to me, and since tap-and-hold presently does nothing, that seems like a logical choice. And finally, is there any way to have Dynamo take a screenshot of a program running in the background? I ask because sometimes (many times) it will take a screenshot of a program as it is being minimized, or else it won't have taken it before something significantly changed on the screen so that the thumbnail displayed does not match up with the program. If Dynamo could take screenshots of background programs and display those, it would solve this nagging issue.
Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to work on this great program!

I found this to be a bit on the slow side on Diamond, but it's still a terriffic start. Keep optimizing and you'll have a legend of a program that'll be included in every custom ROM on the planet.

The program is completely customizable (graphics and settings).
Is designed to run on HTC (tested on Diamond, Touch Pro and HD) in both portrait and landscape.
Let me know if you like it or if you want some new features.

Hey, This is just a quick suggestion for this cool app.
Would it be possible to make the app function on the volume up/down hardware keys? prehaps holding another hardware key and pressing up or down could control the app. I think this would make the app more easier to use quickly. Again, not crisitism, just an idea.

one suggestion: an "always visible" icon in the topbar (it could be a brightness symbol or, better, a battery status icon) so your app can be easily accessed by tapping on topbar (I was thinking on the use with "HTC Large Title Bar" package, as htc volume control does)

about the no-flip clock, i'm interested in it as well. perhaps i'll dare to join the gtx thread and ask for the tip
Death to flippy clocks!
DEATH TO FLIPPY CLOCKS! Surely there must be a digital clock alternative for Manila 2.1 somewhere!
CHT 1.8.5
Co0kie home tab 1.8.5 has an option to remove minute flips from clock. But in your case looks like you do not like CHT... so try looking at the registry. There should be some key to disable it. Good Luck!!
I turned off all "flip clock" features through CHT and other tweak programs, removed clock background, replaced the png's for the numbers, etc.
The only thing that remains is the small horizontal line that goes right through the numbers, a feature from the "flip clock" in the programing somewhere.
I know on other Manila versions some people managed to remove it, even GTX got rid of it somehow.
I hope someone can figure out how to get it out of the HD2.

After uninstalling the clock will be back!
I have the numbers, just no background or flip images.
Just the numbers displaying the time... with a black line right through the middle of them.
The cab from above just makes for no clock all together, at all
I want a clock, just not the "flip" clock, like the OP.
If you have no background or flip images, try these numbers.

If you use the small clock in cht, you won't see the line. If you use the large clock you might.
If you have the standard clock, use Dic3ptor´s No Digital Flip Clock.cab to wipe out the clock then the numbers cab attached to put the black numbers on.

Hello! Here's an experimental application I've been working on as a side project. I'm not sure whether or not I'll continue it, but I thought I'd share what I have so far.
This application will display the Windows Phone 7 style notification using the top bar on the top coming down and displaying the notification. The current application you are using will be paused until you either ignore or view the notification.
To view the notification, click on the blue bar.
To ignore the notification, double-tap anywhere that is NOT the blue bar (grayed out screen).
Here's an example:

to be honest the splash screen ruins it; i hope that's just because it's an early version. It also didn't distinguish between email and text when i tested... still said text when i got a new email. nice idea though... future version should auto-start with winmo imo.
If u add in the support for misscall as well, it would be perfect already

It can auto-start with Winmo if you add a shortcut to your startup folder. And also, the splash screen is only there because it's not set to hide as soon as it runs. I'll see about removing it in later versions.
Also, I'm not sure about the text/email issue, I'll look into it.
-What other notifications should be added? Missed call is a good one I suppose, but what should it link to?

Thanks! I plan to use it as well. Just wanted to be sure. Could the keyboard be changed,or substituted, however? Too much red for me. I'd prefer maybe black keys with red characters, for example. Maybe I could flash one from somewhere else, I don't know.

Yes you could try flashing one from somewhere else shouldnt hurt anything.
How would we revert to stock icons for applications?
Do any other colors exist? I would like a ICS blue if possible.

Yes there is a blue one.
As a suggestion, I'd love it if you modified the menus, such as the menu resulting from the menu button, to look like the shut-off menu-i.e. black, with fine red lines and white text .
Note: Looking at the files in the zip, it sort of looks like the menu background should in fact be black, or transparent black, but it isn't. Maybe I'm not understanding the file labels, some are more readily identifiable than others. I assume if you don't include art in the file, then it remains as Google designed it.
Thanks!!

Yes, exactly. Mine doesn't look like that; OK, After swiping the screen about 30 times with my palm it finally decided to take a screen shot before the menu closed itself. There must be a better way, but you can see my menu and yours don't look anything alike.

Thanks! Either of your methods was way better than mine!! But, mine did get the job done eventually. Now I know.
Next question is, why are they different? Did you make a change to the theme, or is mine somehow screwed up?
