Good evening veerm
I use a cab from the thread "xda-developers > HTC Leo: HD2 > HD2 Themes and Apps > Disable flip clock initial animation" which works on my Artemis 8.0 German. It disables the initial flip when comming back to the homescreen.
Best regards

Thanks mate, i have been using this tweak as well, but what i am really looking for is a "no flip" at all...
Its very surprising to me that its not been done yet - didn't think that difficult for all the great devs on this site.

maxmanila home tab has some really cool digital no flip clocks. I'm currently using cookie monsters home tab and his are not, but they might be compatible.

wonderful to see the gtx project continues. this is the best theme ever, so nice and clean and just beautiful, professional look. congratulations guys!
about the no-flip clock, i'm interested in it as well. perhaps i'll dare to join the gtx thread and ask for the tip
Death to flippy clocks!
DEATH TO FLIPPY CLOCKS! Surely there must be a digital clock alternative for Manila 2.1 somewhere!
CHT 1.8.5
Co0kie home tab 1.8.5 has an option to remove minute flips from clock. But in your case looks like you do not like CHT... so try looking at the registry. There should be some key to disable it. Good Luck!!
I turned off all "flip clock" features through CHT and other tweak programs, removed clock background, replaced the png's for the numbers, etc.
The only thing that remains is the small horizontal line that goes right through the numbers, a feature from the "flip clock" in the programing somewhere.
I know on other Manila versions some people managed to remove it, even GTX got rid of it somehow.
I hope someone can figure out how to get it out of the HD2.

Does this just wipe out the flippy clock, or does it support a replacement clock too?

After uninstalling the clock will be back!
I have the numbers, just no background or flip images.
Just the numbers displaying the time... with a black line right through the middle of them.
The cab from above just makes for no clock all together, at all
I want a clock, just not the "flip" clock, like the OP.
If you have no background or flip images, try these numbers.

If you use the small clock in cht, you won't see the line. If you use the large clock you might.
If you have the standard clock, use Dic3ptor´s No Digital Flip Clock.cab to wipe out the clock then the numbers cab attached to put the black numbers on.

Tried it. Installed the cab, still had the flippy clock. Even tried rebooting, still made no difference.

Thank you very much! It looks beautiful in Axim X51v.
By the way.. is there any way to avoid showing the seconds in the clock? I´d like to see only the hours and the minutes.
Anyway, it´s a great and very light application.
Super nice clock! Thank you for this GREAT CLOCK!!!!!!
I want this with the messaging icons (email, missed calls, text messages, and maybe a voice mail counter)
This looks great! I've been looking for a clock that included seconds.
Great Job, thanks!!!
Great Clock
Goodbye Htc Home.
I was using Sm Digital clock but I think this is better.
Thanks for this gift.
And don't assume people don't need it because they have htc home; I used it for months but got tired of the screen estate it occupies and considering that I have spb plus, the other tabs of htc home were just redundant (personal preference, I guess).
Keep up the good work.
nice job going to try it out
the ability to have a folder we can change the fonts on the go, and the color of the fonts wold be great. something like the HTC customizer they have...or would that work with this?
Hello pocket digital clock, goodbye htchome...
mobile shell 2.0 dominated my htchome.. i was just using it for the big clock, but thanks to this i can get rid of htchome... thanks ionized
This is a great, simple, low overhead clock app. Just what I have been looking for...
One thing:
Any possibility you can build a custom font for the popular SegoeUI TTF that is being implemented in a lot of the 6.1 ROMS?
Thanks again!!

I too would like this although I know it is much to ask for. Maybe theres a separate program that could be used in conjunction with this that shows the counters?
Wow. I didn't expect this much replies. Thanks for all the support.
As for those who wish for more specific arrangements and functions, I would recommend rlToday, which is extremely customizable. But of course, customizability comes with higher overheads. At this point in time, I do not have plans to formulate too many designs. I'm afraid there will be no further updates unless there is a critical bug.
brock1909, initially, I made this program with a folder of its own and with the ability to change fonts on-the-go. Unfortunately, there is a well-known Windows Mobile bug that lets registered fonts outside the Windows folder take over fonts in other non-related programs. The same thing happens if you place fonts under the \Windows\Fonts\ directory. It was discussed in the forums of phoneAlarm and rlToday where custom fonts are often used with skins. Eventually, I had no choice but to adopt the current design.
By the way, font color will change based on your Today Theme.
As for Segoe UI font request, I'll make this an exceptional case since I like the font as well. However, because I do not know what are the legal implications of using such copyrighted materials, I will not place them on my custom font page.
P.S. Segoe UI is optimized for ClearType. It won't look good if ClearType is disabled.

P.S. Awesome work on the clock. I'm loving it.
Congratulations Ionizes... Fantastic, Usefull!!!
There are a few apps that do the same as this floating around, but most have requirements like .Net CF 3.5 or similar. This also gave me a chance to demonstrate my new set of controls for C++. (the slider, the buttons at the bottom etc.)
What it does:
Configures SMS Sent notification, SMS delivery receipts, Threaded SMS.
It can be skinned (if you know what you're doing with res hacker) by editing l3v5yExtendedFunctionsResources.dll that should reside in \Windows.
Install it, and restart your device. SMS Settings can be found under Start->Settings->System tab.
Tested on my Diamond and Prophet, and in the WM5 emulators, so should work on all WM5+ Pocket PC devices.
Note, SMS threading will only work on WM6.1 ROMs, since it's OS dependant...

Yes I saw that. I could also give it a TF3D slider like look or an comm manager like one. I don't know if you have bigger plans for this app, looking at the resources I think you do. I could make it look completely htc-ish if you give me a little more skinablility Your call, 12

The l3v5yExtendedFunctions file contains loads of other controls which I haven't quite finished off, and the l3v5yExtendedFunctionsResources file contains images for that. What would you need to get better skinability?
The buttons are generated at run time (by l3v5yExtendedFunctions), using values sent by SMS Settings, so they can be configured. All the other images are loaded straight from the resources file (checkbox, up/down button currently, with more to come). Having nicer, HTC styled images would be nice though.
I will be releasing the framework for other developers at some point in the future...

Ok I skinned the rest, I hope you like it. I'm not entirly sure if the checkboxes will take, as there seems to be a lot of fifferents colors for transparent in bmp (which I imagine black is in yours). I meant background skinning and maybe the buttons, to complete the style , 12

Currently, there's no transparency, though I'll add that (would a bright pink be a better transparent colour than black?). Would that make it easier for you to implement?
Both the background and the buttons are made by drawing a gradient across a rectangle. I can replace this with a bitmap or other image though...
The up/down looks really nice! Thanks for that!

PLEASE READ THIS:
What was changed:
- autohide call log and calendar
- 2 appointments with big clock, 5 with small
This modification MUST be installed directly on the DEVICE, NOT Internal Storage or Memory Card!
BIG thanks to:
- hallatore for the concept (CompactHomeScreen for TF3D 2.0)
- kimi_sae_ireba for the great Sense 2.1 VGA port and for sending me a decompiled script, without which this mod would be impossible to do
- 6Fg8 for m9editor - a great tool for editing mode9 files
- sztupy for luadec - a great tool to compile/decompile lua scripts
You may also want to install CompactSense 2.1 - improved Sense 2.1 layout!

Clean version has no arrows and dotted lines.
Reserved for future use.
This new homescreen really works perfect!
Running Gen.Y D2 R5 for diamond now. This works perfect together, thanks!
Good stuff Kamil.
This is heading in the right direction. Can you point me in the right place to move the arrow down a little and maybe display 3 or 4 appointments on the Rhodium's larger display? (Which Manila file?)
The arrow is right in the middle of the blank area on the Rhodium as opposed to your screen shots as its a bigger display. No real issue but would just look tidier on the bottom.
Also the thing that annoys me with HTC's new Sense is that the appointments don't show up unless they are one day away. Have you come across a way to possibly change that?
I'd like to know how you managed to decompile the scripts too. I gave this up as a bad job as I couldn't get the script to decompress beyond 51%. If you did it manually then it's out of my league.
Anyway, nice work.
thanks
This was much awaited

Hi Kamil,
Is it possible to make it so I can use a picture as my background on all the tabs in this mod?
I'd also like to know if your mini-tweak which removes the border and what have you around the clock is compatible with this mod or will it override it?
Cheers
p.s. Is there any easy way to change the font colour in Sense 2.1? With the lovely background I want to use I can't read the appointments. The font could do with being black.
In order to have Bg4AllTabs change this registry key:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"Tweaks.WallpaperMode"=dword:00000001
My mini-mod removing the clock background replaces the graphic file, so it's fully compatible
Regarding the text color, I'll upload a cab changing the font to black on the home screen.
REPORTING for me on my Blackstone WORKING PERFECT Im using the ROM from my signature
Thanks
I'm glad it works fine on WVGA devices
UPDATE Just before a while I uploaded a new version - Black - which features dark font colors on the home screen. Hope you like it.
Very nice mod, thanks for the hard work works on X1 WM6.1 Sense 2.1. (Mr Rusch's NUTS ROM)
However, it seems to slow down moving between Manila tabs - noticeably but not a lot.
The "standard" config on the x1 is to press the right hardware key to bring back the Manila home screen, from another tab or from just another screen. The Manila home screen does not return for me when pressing the hardware key: it does so eventually via Start/Home dropdown menu.
I uninstalled the cab without problems and the transitions are lightning fast again.
If this gives you a clue as to what may be causing the issue, I'll happily try other variants
Sorry, I can't support devices such as Xperia. The files I have edited in this mod have nothing to do with performance, so I'm pretty surprised to hear that. I only change the positions of elements, nothing more.
Perfect mod, working very well on my Touch Pro with latest EnergyRom (21xxx build with Sense 2.1), thanks for this!

How about a mod for the Sense 2.1 clock to have no frames/outline and be clear background?
No problem, updated the first post.
I like the look of the clean clock.
I'm using it conjunction with the Black sense homepage you have kindly created and a personal background and can still see a semi transparent box around the clock which I think is part of the weather bit.
I'll try and work out how to grab a screen and post it so you can see what I mean...
A screenshot would be great, I recommend Shake&Save.
Hi Kamil,
I have Manila 2.0.37889.1 with some mods to some Manila files so my homescreen looks like the attached.
Are you able to help me highlight the details of the appointments please? The times/dates of each appointment are very clear and easy to read, but the appointments themselves are not so easy to read. Can you brighten up the font for this part please? Would you need one of my Manila files to do this?
Also, I like your changes to the messaging tab as this seems much clearer. Would this work on my Manila?
Thanks very much and great work Kamil!
To change the font color on the home tab I need you to send me the file 1c684cd8_manila from your Windows folder (it may be hidden).
The Messaging tab didn't change so much since Manila 2.0, so I guess it should work. You can give it a try and if it does not work uninstall it and send me 47dd6acd_manila which is in the Windows folder too.
Thanks for the tip. Handy bit of software.
Here's the screenshot.
Hi Kamil,
I hope I'm not being too cheeky, but can I make another request please?
You can see on my contacts tab that I have a nice red slider. However, on my email tab there is no slider between the two email accounts. Can you make me a slider please? I tried to find the correct Manila file to edit it but cannot find it at all...
Also, my background is the same as yours - black with a dark grey circle in the middle getting darker and merging in with the black getting further away from its centre. You can see this in my messages tab. How can I make this just plain all black? I have tried all manner of background for all tabs and also tried editing the right Manila file myself, but can't get this to work at all... Any ideas for this?
I would appreciate any help here!
Thanks
It's beyond my possibilities to add a bladelist in the e-mail tab, sorry I can tell you that for Sense 2.1 there's a mod - ported Sense 2.5 e-mail tab with a bladelist. You can check it out, the e-mail tab doesn't differ a lot between Sense 2.1 and Manila 2.0.

I tried out that version. I think that because I have modded my homescreen so much that this somehow interfers with the background for all tabs. The one you have shown doesn't work when I add 4 appointments to the homescreen (instead of 3).... Strange.....
Thanks anyway.
Hi Kamil, I'm afraid your messaging tab mod to improve the clarity does not work with my Manila (2.0.37889.1). It has no effect.
mitsi, please upload the file I've mentioned earlier and I'll change the font. In the attachment you'll find a cab which changes the appointment subject font color to white.

Hi Kamil, thanks for that. I have tried it, but there is no difference. Perhaps it is not the font colour but the size? Also, I don't understand the part "please upload the file I've mentioned earlier and I'll change the font". Do you mean your cab for the Messeges tab? I tried that but there was no effect either...
Actually I was quiet prepared that it can not work I don't know why but the font used for the appoinments doesn't allow to change the color. I've changed the font to a different one, it should work now.
I meant the 47dd6acd_manila file, it's the Messaging tab. Upload it and I'll change the font to a clearer one.

I thought that perhaps you had changed the font colour on the homepage, but somehow my background overlaps the homepage. See the attached screenshot which I have changed to a red background and the text now appears pink...
Here is my manila file for the Messaging tab. Many thanks for your help Kamil!

Absolutely spot on! Many thanks once again.
mitsi, it seems to me that there's some opacity set for the text - I'll look into that tomorrow.
Hello! Here's an experimental application I've been working on as a side project. I'm not sure whether or not I'll continue it, but I thought I'd share what I have so far.
This application will display the Windows Phone 7 style notification using the top bar on the top coming down and displaying the notification. The current application you are using will be paused until you either ignore or view the notification.
To view the notification, click on the blue bar.
To ignore the notification, double-tap anywhere that is NOT the blue bar (grayed out screen).
Here's an example:
BEFORE:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
AFTER:
To use it, simply install the CAB file below. Then run it from the start menu, and keep it running in the background.
Also, disable any "Display message on screen" options for your current notifications.
Currently the only supported notifications are New Email and New SMS.

hello jaxbot .. it's a good idea .. i like your job thx
to be honest the splash screen ruins it; i hope that's just because it's an early version. It also didn't distinguish between email and text when i tested... still said text when i got a new email. nice idea though... future version should auto-start with winmo imo.
If u add in the support for misscall as well, it would be perfect already
very nice app tho
Not for 23544
This doesn't work on 6.5.3 (build 23544)

It can auto-start with Winmo if you add a shortcut to your startup folder. And also, the splash screen is only there because it's not set to hide as soon as it runs. I'll see about removing it in later versions.
Also, I'm not sure about the text/email issue, I'll look into it.
-What other notifications should be added? Missed call is a good one I suppose, but what should it link to?

I can't do that, because not everybody has Sense. Also, I need an actual EXE file to link to. I'll do some looking around.
It runs
OK, it runs now (running the program at startup)
Works on Omnia 2
Works well on Samsung 6.5.3 Stock ROM ! Thank you !

There is not an option to change the color, but I'll see about adding an option for that in a later build.
