Use the UC config tab and add your cab files there i think from memory and it makes the config file for you

I want to put both CABs file and installed CABs in my storage card. for example when I Hard Reset my PPC, it should read CABs from Storage card and install them into Storagecard/programFiles folder automatically. Is it possible?

I think i understand what you are asking yes it's possible because the The cabs that get installed are in a special folder and only the cab files in the UC config file will be installed

CREATE CAB INSTALL FILES TO PUT IN EXTENDED ROM

ONLY FOR THE EYES OF THE BEST ONE
I WANT TO PUT PROGRAMS ON THE EXTENDED ROM.. BUT THE PROB IS THAT THIS APPLICATIONS ARE NOT IN CAB FORMAT...
MAYBE SOMEONE FIND A WAY TO DO IT NICE... I DOWNLOADED THE MAKECAB FROM WINDOWS BUT IS THERE ENOUGH... AND HOW TO INTERACT WITH APPLICATIONS THAT NEED TO BE INSTALL BY THE PC...
REGARDS
Just run from PC, then you can find cab file in Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync. Copy this cab file to PPC and you can install it directly in your PPC.
Thanks Sonadt !!
I try with hack master & tengo keyboard... no one of them put cab in activesync directory.. i found in the install directory of the applications many cabs and some ini with the some name ??? and how to do when you need to patch or enter the serial ???
Hoping to read you soon...

Install location on storage card

When installing applications, if I choose to install to Main Memory, the apps get installed to \Main Memory\Program Files. Which is all fine and well. But if I select to install to Storage Card, they get installed to the parent Storage Card directory itself. There is no equivalent \Storage Card\Program Files directory.
I know my complaint is idiosyncratic, but I don't like the way this crowds up my Storage Card dircetory. I would rather have them classified together.
Is there a registry tweak or some other way to set the parent directory on the Storage Card under which to install?

I find that most of the installs I do are not CAB installs, but from my PC.

Wich sync's .cabfiles to your PPC
Sometimes you can 'extract'the cab files form the install and install them manually...
CAB files
I know what you meen.
With those installs i do the following:
1) Install on the desktop
2) Then active sync asks you to install to your PPC
3) Just click abort (annuleer)
4) Look in your Active sync folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync) for the folder of your program for the CAB-file
Succes.... 8)

Help me please! I messed up !!

I feel like a total IDIOT !!!
I was messing around with my TyTn trying to unlock the ext rom.....
I installed fit4cat 1.0 checked it out...didn't do anything with it.
My TyTn started acting a little strange..so I did a hard reset.
When it reboot during the customization process it tells me:
\Extended_ROM\MT_ShortcutMMS-Hermes.CAB does not exist.....
then it freezes!!!!!
What did I do !!! I'm a fool!
Can someone help me out?
I just want to reset it and get the ext rom installed..
btw..i have bootloader 1.14
ok...i kind of got things going again.....!
I still get the message about the missing .cab file!!
I can now access the ext rom folder.....now the question is how do I instal .cab files for the ext rom?
I downloaded the appropriate ext rom version for my device and it contains a bunch of .cab files, one of them being the missing file
How do I get it in there...do I simply instal it like a standrd .cab file?
Does it need to be installed in the ext rom ?
hahaha your not the only one... what you need to do is visit the wiki here and download the appropriate ExtROM for your device and... use fid4cat to unhide and unlock the EtxROM and simpy copy the missing file back there... re lock the ROM using fid4cat and hard reset it....

ok.....where do you copy the missing files? at the root level of the ExtRom folder?
There's other folders in there:
Program Files
WMDRM
I don't see any other .cab files in the ExtRom folder of my device...is that normal? Should I copy all the ExtRom file I downloaded since I have none in the device ExtRom folder?
if you can see the extrom and there are no cab files inside it then you have somehow formatted your EtxROM, you need to copy all files from the relevant downloaded ExtROM onto your PDA in the ExtROM folder and relock the etxROM

no problems... in future take a backup of everything before you do anything i have run into your situation many times hahahahaha....

UC Compliant ROM and SDConfig.txt for Athena

I have some questions for those of you who have already gained expertise in this.
1) Is the following allowed? Or must all cab files resides in the SD card?
CAB: \Microdrive\Adobe PDF Reader\Cabs\Adobe_PDF.cab
2) How do I specify that I want it installed into the microdrive rather than the device memory, other than modifying the cab file to choose that location? If the only way is to modify the cab files, how do we go about doing it?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

1) yes i believe you can do that i have never tried to have the sdconfig.txt on storage card but direct it to microdrive but it should work
2) I think there is some cmd for that but i am not sure. you could always use wince cab manager.

I have tried directing it to microdrive. However, the SDAutoRun (the one that happens before the SDConfig.txt, not sure if this is the right name) never complete. It sorts of stops and freezes at that stage.
wince cab manager. I'll do some research on this and try out.
Thanks irus for these pointers.
