Hi,
I'm searching for a German ROM for my wife's 8500. Therefore I need one with a high wife acceptance factor (stable/reliable, fast).
Is there is a stable and fast, ideally 6.1 German ROM?
Thx
Asellus
I'm thinking about buying the Lenovo P780 because of its huge battery (4000mAh).
http://www.etotalk.com/lenovo-p780_p3798.html
But I read that it supports 3G only on 2100 MHz and not on 900MHz.
Is this something I have to worry about? I'm living in Germany and use a surf flat provided by vodafone.
Will I have the same speed and 3G availability without 900MHz support?

Got it since yesterday and it´s working very fine also in Germany (both, data traffic and normal calls). No problems at all. Much better than the Zopo - Hero - Caesar I tried before.

I'm intrested in this lenovo p780. Is the 3G-connection ok on 2100 ? I'm living in Belgium.
Is the GPS working fine ?
Quality of the pictures 8 MP and the video ?
Thanks.
Philip
Hi neighbour,
Everything is really fine, it's a great phone. GPS, Wifi, calls, data connection, handling in general and the battery should last for at least 3 days for everybody...
The camera is better than Zopo C2, but shurely not the best in the market. There still have to be reasons for the price.

Some european operators use 900MHz as an auxilary band for 3g.
Main frequency is 2100MHz, mainly in cities, and 900MHz covers some rural areas.
Check your operator and if you should need 900/2100MHz, there are like dozen china phones
that use that frequencies.
My ZTE v987 is one of them...

hi neighbour, i live 40 km from Aachen
Have you tried the GPS ?
What is the quality of the HD video ?
Have you a sample of pictures you made ? Could you sent one to me ?
I'm now using an Nokia N8, symbian, with great offline gps, great pictures and superb video with stereo sound.
But symbian is dying as you know. So i'm looking for an good and rather cheap Android.
Greetings.
Philip

So i wouldn't have 3G in areas where they are using the 900 Mhz ? that's bad !

Liège?
Camera is fine for me, but perhaps won´t meet your expectations if this is a main purpose.
GPS is working really fine without any problem.
Regarding loss of connection in 900 MHz I did not notice that. But I am living and working in Cologne-Düsseldorf-Wuppertal-Region with a good 2100 MHz net.

Bought it at Etotalk incl. modrom and original flip-case (great thing!) for approx. EUR 280,- incl. DHL. No (!) tax due to "gift"-option.
I tried mainly Google Maps, but also the OsmAnd+ offline maps (included in Etotalk´s modrom).
Genk? My college Didier G. is from Genk, too ... You know Norbord (former Agglo)?
New Lenovo P780 user here as well. Just got this phone today from china supplier.
As expected, no play store in there so tried download the apk and install.
Installed successful but whenever try to launch it open and then close immediately.
Can anyone help me? Thank you.
Firmware is P780_S129_130710, is there a custom ROM already somewhere?

@needrom.com are several other roms available, 1 multilanguage seems to be fine.
Navigation by voice input works in German.
Etotalk-rom includes Playstore and everything else you may need - perhaps even too many apps. I have erased a lot of them.

Saw at the china forum there is a new released ROM P780_S306_130731,
but not available @ needrom.com yet.

hi, where can you install apps on the lenovo 780, just on the internal ROM ? i read there is just a 750 Mb place for apps on it ?
can't you install apps on the external sd-card ?
still fully satisfied with the unit ?
philip
I am still confident. The one and only thing I'd prefer would be a clean Android without Lenovo's variations. But that's no big issue.
You can install everything like on any other Android device. If the app allows it also on external SD.

Dan you answer my question about he apps? Thanks.
It is possible to install all those apps on the external SD which allow it also on other devices. No difference to other phones.

Hi,
First of all, sorry for my English, it's not my main language.
After the latest update in Europe, mirrorlink has been uninstalled from my phone: the main reason I bought the expensive s10 was to use sygic navigation on my car (a toyota corolla with mirrorlink but without android auto), that I purchased for 50 euros.
To be honest, i feel cheated by Samsung.
Wondering if someone else is in the same or similar situation.
Paolo
Maybe I'm saying something silly, but since they have removed the compatibility in the latest version of the firmware, maybe you can download a pre-upgrade custom ROM that keeps the possibility of using Mirrorlink.
