gel skin for the htc touch hd - Touch HD Accessories

Hi guys,
Im new here and not long had my htc touch hd, but im loving it!
just wondering would anyone know where i could get a gel-skin for the Touch hd?
by gel skin i mean this
http://www.mygelskin.com/tytn-p1.htm
or this
http://www.gelaskins.com/
rather than a case,
only ive seen them for the laptops and they make your product really individual. the ones ive seen also look really high-quality but the problem ive had is finding someone to do them for this more nieche phone.
any help or advice would be appreciated, especially if anyone has looked into it themselves,
thanks,
p.s. i tried searcing it with nil response...

ebay and I must say they look quite cool

^no i couldnt see any, ebay doesnt have any that are the same as the website, the website sells vinyl stickers, rather than a rubber case.
found what i was looking for!
i will share it with you:
http://www.uniqueskins.com/Products/HTC/HTC+Touch+HD+Scratch+Resistant+Skin
im not sure about the colour scheme in the images but you can make your own and they protect the device...
they do 2 sets one for $7 and one for $19 - but you can design your own for $7!!!
edit:
this is what its gonna look like:
ill take pics of mine once ive got it...

Hows the quality of skin? Is it worth it?

This is really cool, be sure to give us an update asap. I'm designing my own at the moment.
PS: I only see the 19 one, where did you get one for 7?

hey,
im glad some1 else has taken an intrest, because when i saw this i thought it was really cool although no-one seemed intrested on this forum.
To update, im still waiting for it to come, the site is in the US and i live in the uk, so i guess a week of waiting isnt so bad. It says it has been shipped, tho which is good. In fact, it took less than 24 hours to get to get shipped which i thought was impressive.
I went for the $19 one instead of the 7 because it covered more of the phone and it was a scratch proof version, so i shouldnt need a case with it.
you can see both below:
$19 version: http://www.uniqueskins.com/Products/...Resistant+Skin
$7 version: http://www.uniqueskins.com/design.php?prod=889&opt=1610
sneaky tip: before i bought it i found a 25% off coupon on the order plus the shipping to the uk was only $3 so in total it came to $17, which if its as good as i hope its gonna be, is very good value for what it is -
a custom designed skin which is scratchproof plus a built in screen protector and it got sent half way across the world!
i will update with pics as soon as i get it....
also, i would love to see what designs other people have come up with...

It does look cool and practical, however, if it is anything like the Invisible Sheild (it looks similar) then I certainly wouldnt waste my money.

Yeah, I found the same coupon, it's 25off. Does the 20 one really cover more areas? Because the 7 one is really tempting, it's just SO cheap.
PS: I think they're showing the Blackberry Storm on the video...

^ the 20 one covers the sides whereas the 7 one doesnt.
without seeing either i dont really know which one is gonna be better value for money, however i went for the more expensive one because i dont really want to carry a case with the phone so im hoping it will be enough protection however, if you just want the artwork i guess the $7 will be better.

Thanks, I made this:

I'm looking for some cartoony images, any suggestions?

This looks absolutely great! Please post photos when you receive your skins!

I was thinking of getting the invisible skin.......I saw the demo video on an iphone and it looked impressive.....what's the downside?

has it been delivered yet?

Wow this is interesting I want to mod my phone just like this. Please post the pictures of your device with the skin.

Well it is difficult to apply and wetting the device down is highly un-desirable imo, apart from these things the front protection contains 5 pieces including the screen protector (which is quite unclear unlike a quality screen protector) The smaller front pieces which adhere around the profiled edges came off in less then a week of putting HD in and out of pocket, also the screen protector and back cover started peeling off very quickly, not worth the money imo and for the same price you could buy a nice hand made leather pouch or a lot of other accessories.

Any news about the gel a skin yet? So excited to see how it turn out to be...

This some bs, I don't think any of them bought the gel skin. I have been waiting forever. They don't even post any updates so that we can know the damn progress of the shipment.
I call BS, and I have lost faith in the people who said they will post pictures and reviews.

I just applied the skin that i had ordered and it looks Cool
Downside : the screenprotector doesnt fit the screen so that's gonna get scratched

Some sexy looking metallic covers for the HD :)

Found this website when clicking on one of the banners while surfing XDA forums
They have some seriously sexy metallic covers! Think I'm gonna get one...

EDIT: They're OUT! Check the link out... TWO colours avaliable - Silver and Titanium
EDIT 20090525: It's arrived! See pics below

Initial Impressions:
* Huge amount of packaging... so well protected during shipping.
* Very lightweight, adds the least amount of bulk / weight to the Touch HD compared to other plastic 1/2 covers I've tried before.
* Volume buttons get more obscured and therefore harder to press, like other 1/2 cover designs
* Raised metallic Camera section isn't protected, just like other 1/2 cover designs.
* Catena/Silver model has mirror finish - very nice.
* Catena/Silver model is a fingerprint magnet
* Pattern isn't embossed... would be nice if it was. Print looks a bit cheap against mirror finish
* Excellent packaging and presentation
* Snaps on easily - much easier than Boxwave's half cover shell for example.
Conclusions:
* Catena/Titanium would probably look nicer.
* Should be $20usd (with no screen protector bundled)
* The most well-built / quality *Plastic* half-cover I've seen so far.
PICS

Looking good
Hi!
They are really good looking. How does the HD look from the other side with the cover on?
They are made of plastic, so I think they will be full of scratches after some time.
But I have also thought of buying one.
nice! even the slip in leather cases look very tempting!
wanna see the front
hmm, I think these are "half-shell" covers like these ones from Boxwave
Just checked their website and unfortunately product release is delayed until 20th May
It's nice to finally see some fashionable accessories being released for the HD... kinda sick of seeing all this fancy stuff only for iphones >_<
And yeah, the covers probably will get scratches and stuff over time, but that's the purpose of having a cover in the first place isn't it?
please share live photos if anyone got one of those, looks great ..
Thanks Aussiebum, they look great. I do wonder how it looks from the front. It comes with either a free Crystal Screen Protector or a mirror. Anyone knows whether the mirror can be attached somewhere? Doesn't make much sense if it is a separate accessory.

it seems that it covers just the back
the metal design pattern looks good!
a little bit to expensive for my taste, looks very nice indeed!
but I will wait for it to come to eBay, or maybe some copy of the same!
Anyone got one of these? I am curious to know how easy it would be to get the back of the phone off with one of these attached as I have to soft reset my HD fairly regularly!
man that looks hot. where can one of these in AUS?
I hope they release a plain design...the patterns looks girlish...

You're not alone!
Hi all,
Just took delivery of my touch HD last week absolutly loving it at the moment. Brand new to this forum, looks like a treasure trove of stuff in here, looking forward to having a really good look around.
Those cases look really good, quite pricey tho. I had a leather sena case for my Dell Axim which was fantastic quality but im looking for something less bulky so those boxwave case look perfect.
thinking of a boxwave rubber case and martin feilds screen protector, good combination?
Cheers
Bud
I don't think these cases are suitable as I think they can get scratched easily. And the cost... WOW!
I personally just prefer a silicon case. Try these ones from Capdase. It feels really good in the hands, and slip free. The best thing is that it doesn't stick to your pocket like other crappy silicon cases. I can grab it from jeans pocket easily.
How about these...

Well, everyone has their own preference.
These (relatively pricey) designs are aimed at people who want a (half) cover that looks bling and not just the usual cheapo plain colour hard plastic / soft silicone cases u see avaliable almost everywhere on ebay (of which I have one already).
They've delayed release until 20th May (this Wed), so hopefully they will be avaliable by then. I'm definitely getting one so will be posting pics for those also interested when I get them
I'm glad that at least *one* company has deemed the HD popular enough to release covers that you'd only expect to see avaliable for the iPhone... bring'em on! we want more bling!

I actually quite like the look of these covers! They do look very stylish! Hopefully, it is only the beginning of cool covers for our HD's.
The price, however, seems really steep.

Check this out! Stylish! Custom made CASE for TP2! BEST I've seen!

Hi guys!
I know you guys been complaining about how hard to find the right case for your ‘Touch Pro 2’ right? Especially for the T-mobile Touch Pro 2 !!! lol~
I’m searching over and over to find the perfect case to suit my everyday needs. Finally I ran into this company website ‘SHINNORIE’, they used to focused on Iphone, Ipod, I…. etc. but now they’re expanding their product lines.
Luckily, they also included a FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE case for HTC! Made from grade ‘A’ GENUINE leather! A cow’s leather I supposed lol~ Yeah! A custom case finally! It’s crazy! You know. You can design the whole thing by yourself! The main color, the secondary color, the add-on designs to the case blah blah blah …. EVERYTHING! This one is a premium case with fashionable design not an old school black leather belt clip. This one got style!
BUT the case to fit TP2 pretty well would be the ‘RINGO’ ( You have to inform them a bit about the size tough, for me I’ve a Bodyguardz on my T-mobile TP2 so I need to noticed them about the size ) I’m already designed and ordered my case.
It should be here in about 11 working days I supposed because they said 8 days to custom made the case and 3 days for shipping. By the way, they offered worldwide shipping with a free FedEX Express post! I’m really looking forward to it. I will post a full review on it once I got it. I definitely recommend you guys to check out the case from SHINNORIE at www.shinnorie.com
Cheers!

awesome that case looks good i dunno about the yellow maybe a black and red or mocha and black lol like the phone but how much did you spend on the case and could you post some pics when you get it thanks .

Hey, I'm glad you like it.
I'm surely do post a full review once I got it
I'll be interested in whether or not the TP2 fits into the Ringo. It doesn't state the TP2 as a compatible phone... only "HTC Touch and similar sizes."
I read that as being the Touch HD (their other case is for the HD) which I think is possibly a lot thinner than the TP2. (correct me if I'm wrong)
I'm keen as to see a review once you get it though. My colours are sorted
Hi there
Are you in NZ? I'm in AU we are pretty near lol~
Yep, I noticed that but as I mentioned the case 'Ringo' is fully
customizable so you can just e-mail them your phone's dimensions.
For me I inform them as 118 x 63 x 20mm.
This dimension is for my T-mo TP2 with Bodyguardz on it.
I hope it will nicely fit, fingers crossed.
They told me that you can also inform them any special requirements.
(with additional cost, sure thing...)
(Their customer service is pretty fast though.)
Cheers
I made a t-mobile version, with magenta.

Post some pics when it turns up... I bought another case from Noreve (France) but I don't like it so will get one of these if it's going to fit right
It looks nice, but man, I thought I was really spending when I got a custom made Easecase on Ebay for 39 dollars (shipping from Hong Kong was free), I guess not I think 40 dollars is my limit on cases. The Easecase's by the way are beautiful, build quality is top notch and the customer service is perfect.
lol~ Mate, you made me feel guilty
but it's too hard to resist... I personally think that this case is
more unique in design. More importantly, I love the fashionable design
of the case and it's functionality.
Don't get me wrong the easecase is alright but my GF
she hate belt clip.... I know some of you guys are also experienced this! lol~
I hope the case can meet my expectation.

Stormtrooper G1 Mod

http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157622372652127/
Hey Everyone. I wanted to change my keyboard to a white one against the black of my original one, and ended up buying the whole housing for a white g1 on ebay. Thought it would be an easy fix, but was I wrong. came with a couple tools but I still had to buy eyeglass screwdrivers. Ended up having to do almost a complete disassembly to get the keyboard in, so the rest was simple! Ha ha JK the Screen frame was hard too! But in the end, after scaring myself every step of the way, I finally ended up with exactly what I wanted. I tested colormatch options through colorware to see which part combination I liked best. But its all about the contrasting keyboard, so awesome!

Nice! Looks like you figured out the brass inserts...that part kicked my arse until I just said screw it and hit em harder!
Thanks looks pretty sick
Dude. That looks pretty freakin sweet. Nice job.
Thanks everyone, surprised I haven't seen this before.
I'll add color somewhere later. Next I will create a custom back like the new credit card cases for the iphone, to hold a little cash, an ID and a credit card when I just need the bare necessities.
Yeah the brass inside sucked, as did the wires, the seal around the screen, but hell, I know my phone inside and out. Hell, I only learned how to root my phone a couple months ago, and I am NO programmer. Thanks to everyone on this site, I bricked my phone a bunch of times but was always able to find the solution here.
I wish I had a pic of the green back I painted when I first got it. It was bad ass but now its chipped- needed a clear coat.
dude, your phone looks SICK! I think it looks really good, you have some major cajones to even attempt this. I thought I was living fancy by mixing and matching different hard cases that I bought but you took it to the next level, haha
props for the sick mod
I say do the "chin" too. Looks good regardless, but I think the chin would give it the full effect.
WOW that looks awesome but the only problem is that the white keyboard is nearly impossible to read lol
And I thought my white battery door was cool! Great job there. It looks awesome.
Did you buy the housing from a US seller or a CHINA seller, i dont know if its true or not but I heard that buying from the CHINA seller might be a problem due to the fittings might be off. I need to confirm this before making my purchase....

u shouldnt really buy from china when it comes to things like this
try looking for a true OEM housing. shell out the extra cash... clone housings tend to be of lower quality

well i guess u take a risk with the sellers that claim the housings to be OEM
ir try to call htc themselvs, i doubt they will sell you a housing, but u can ask where they they their supplies from.

Now you just need this wallpaper (I use it w/my white G1).

im into the whole black/white too. that looks wicked!
i found a cool battery door at the local tmo store, its kinda like a black/white liquid gooey web (donno how to describe it but it looks cool) and i used a ghost black dx top theme, i think itd fit your phone perfect.
google black and white wallpaper (images) theres a bunch that look awesome
love it haha
post more pics?
Thanks for all the responses!
Right about the keys, the letters do dissappear at dawn and dusk, but no big deal. I can still see my keys in the lowest light without having to move the trackball to light the keypad up.
Yes, this is a china knockoff. I think. Came from Hong Kong, and when I got it, I thought it was a cheap reproduction because of the lightweight plastic. But once I got it on, it feels awesome. No matte finish with the velvety touch, but instead a slick white high gloss. It was weird at first, but using it, it slides into my pocket way easier.
Fittings... Everything fit but two screws holding the screen piece on- the two at the top. The screws that are stock are smaller than the places they screw into. I was worried at first, and planned on getting some better ones from an eyeglass kit. But I don't need them. There is more than enough clips and the other big screw to keep it in place.
Yes, oem is better, but this mod cost me $30 total, and I really only wanted to do the keyboard in the first place so this is all still win for me.
Totally love my phone now, rooted on cyan's 4.1.1 exp, got my 8gig card in running all my apps and freeing up my memory to some 85mb internal memory... till I saw my buddy's new mytouch- 256mb internal memory! Now mine is slow again because I saw his...
Also on one other sidenote, my mytouch buddy just had to migrate from an iPhone, and he LOVES android! Go android!

your supposed to remove the brass inserts from the old bezel and transfer them. It is a PITA, but i was able to hammer them back in on the one I did. There are 2 like this on the center plastic where the keyboard goes as well.
Mine came from a US seller, and he accepted $25 shipped. Here is his link:

kinda looks like mine, but you got me beat with the keyboard. Nie work.

Sena Ultraslim Leather Pouch (Slipcase) Images and First Impressions

I received my Sena Ultraslim Leather Pouch today. I was looking for a plain slipcover to put my Touch Pro 2 into. I wasn't looking for something big and bulky and protective. I wanted something thin and light with minimal bulk to keep the lint and key scratches off my TP2 while it's in my pocket. Comes in a plain box with a soft cotton draw string case and a note card with instructions on how to remove it from the case as well as a warning stating that as a real leather product it would be tight at first and will loosen up with use. It passes the leather smell test and the leather is soft and supple and feels nice.

Boy were the right about the tight fit. Very first use it was quite tight and very difficult to get the Rhodium into and out of the case. I have a Best SKins Ever on the front and rear of my phone. If you've never used one of these skins it's different then most in that it has a slightly rubbery texture. The added grip of the BSE and extra thickness I'm sure adds to the difficulty of removing the phone. After just an hour with the case it has already loosened up a little. It's still not easy to get the phone in and out of the case but it is definitely much easier already then the first time I used it. Hopefully the trend will continue.
You can see the case adds very little bulk to the phone. It's much thinner and less bulky then the OEM case that came with my phone. The stitching seems well done, even and straight. The materials feel like quality materials. Only complain on the fit and finish is how the corners don't quite contour to the shape of the phone. It's just a very minor quibble. All in all I'm quite happy with my purchase. I'll be sure to update this after some extended usage after I get to learn how it is to use every day.
Thanks for posting these pictures. You are right; the corners could fit a little tighter with a larger radius. I have a feeling that it would look much better as the leather stretches a little. Your TP2 looks like it is not sitting all the way to the bottom yet.
BTW. Your OEM case does not look bad at all. Too bad that my Tilt 2 did not come with any case.
Great review !
Very useful and nice pics
Thanks a lot
After only one day of use and the case has already conformed to the shape of my TP2 and is much easier to get it in and out of. Taking the phone out now is really easy, grab the phone by the side and push up from the bottom (detailed in the instructions) gets it half way out and you grab the case and pull it off. Hopefully it will hold up to long term use. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted for my phone. Much more pocket friendly then the HTC OEM case.
Thanks for the review and pics, i'm thinking of getting one of these posted to the UK so a good review is very much appreciated!
Cheers

Ok, is it just me, or is SenaCases.com not working? I am getting a Yahoo domain park-type site. http://www.senacases.com/

this is what I get...
So I think I know what happened... there was a brief period where their site was down (domain renewal) and that is apparently the time when my work's proxy server cached the site. Now all i get is the cached version from the proxy server. When I pull up senacases.com on my phone I get the site. bah!
Thanks a ton... and coupon code!
Hey guys,
First thanks for the review and case link... I ordered a tan one and can't wait to get it rolling... also
DeoreDX,
Thanks for the mention on the BSE as well... I ordered one of those too.
I've got some info though for those looking to buy this SENA case.
COUPON CODE: PCWIPNK11
20% discount, or $6.00 off purchase price, plus the standard shipping turned out to be $28.98. Original price of the case is $29.99.
So free shipping + $1.01 off. Not as much as I hoped but certainly saves a bit.
Hope this helps some people out!
Thanks again for the info DeoreDX!
after a week of using this case I must say it's very pocket friendly and it seems to be durable.
very stylish and unique.
I ordered a tan one and it works great to protect the phone...
I'm not sure what a drop onto cement from my pocket would do but i'm sure it would be far less than a naked tp2.
thanks!

I bought the black one and love it but I'm really eyeballing the tan one hard. Sort of wishing I had bought the tan one myself. I swear the black one must be camouflaged and blends into everything and is impossible to find when I set it down lol
I get Sena cases website fine. They are a fabulous company. I was in a wreck several years ago, ejected from a car at 50 mph. The case save my Pocket PC of those days. The tab fell off a few days later. I emailed Sena to see if i could get it fixed. They shipped me a new one with a metal tab free in 2 days. I am a permanent customer.
Thanks for the review & I admit it's what I was looking for w/o realizing that was what I was looking for!

That link works for me, although I have no interest in this sleeve; I prefer to keep mine on my belt, with belt loops for secure attachment.

Thanks for the coupon code! nice little discount US$33 shipped so better than $40.
anyone know of a similar but cheaper pouch to this?

Finally! A case! Protection... Possibly.

So upon searching and searching I found a few bumpers made for the moto 360. This company is a 3d printing service that creates sells and ships based on customer code.
They have 2 different style cases for the g watch. One with a cover and one without. I think if the cover is fully removable and looks good I'd want that. I seem to cross my arms a lot and tend to wake up the watch. But not to the point battery life is affected. A matte screen protector works just fine.
Check this out. Let me know if you have one or order one. The plain black looks reasonably priced. Wish there were real photos.

I'm trying to picture that on my wrist, and I just don't see it....
Maybe it would have looked better if they could have figured out a way to make it be round.

Not for me but it sure reminds me of the old Swatch guards lol!
Looks like the design was updated a bit.
Looking at the dimensions though, the case is actually quite thin, and doesn't increase the footprint of the watch very much.
The developer just updated the design of both models with and without covers. I am probably going to order black strong and flexible with the removable cover! Here is a photo he sent of the actual finished product (before revisions so current one will be even better)
I kinda want to see what that looks like on the watch. Is the watch screen easy to scratch and break?
I have had my watch for a week or two. It's got a screen protector. It's probably not going to break as it's secured to wrist. But I'm afraid I'll scuff the frame from a door or something.
I would never put such a monstrosity on my watch.
Ok. So the revision should arrive to the designer around January 14th. I will share any information as it arrives. So I would say my full review should be no later than the end of January.
If you are in a hurry and don't want to wait, just go ahead and order one. $17.99 with shipping for the latest version with the removable cover in Blue Strong & Flexible.
If you can wait, I would try to hold off for 1 month just in case it needs any more tweaking.
Here is a coupon code for 10% off valid until 12/30/14:

I love it! When I work it would help protect my watch. When and where can I buy?
So the developer is awaiting the receipt of his final revision. Pics should be any day now. I'll post asap. I'll be ordering one for sure!
It's the link in my first post, if you don't want to wait. You'll get the latest revision but I'm waiting for him to examine it just to be sure. He's already made adjustments.
Got mine shipped ?
Would love to see some pics and perhaps a review once you receive it.

I would also like to see when it will arrive?
I am so happy (for the sake of the developer) that I'm not the only one excited!
I would order one but the one with the cover has required extra adjustments. If I didn't need the cover I would have pulled the trigger.
The cover is removable. I just want extra display protection and the ability to have my watch vibrate without others being able to see it. This case bypasses the theater mode bug.
It will be like Christmas all over again. As promised to the developer, I will be doing a full review here, on a few other forums, and on YouTube. As for the time frame, I would say a week after the revision is inspected by the developer, so the 21st of January.
Ehhhh....Try Again
Really not what I expected. It is very light, yet feels very cheap. It falls off all the time. I take off my sweatshirt and it gets stuck in the sleeve and comes off. Next time, make one that wraps all the way around.
One thing i do like about it is that you cant even feel that its on there and now its harder for something to hit my screen....even though i already have some scratches.....
In my opinion, I would wait for an updated case... don't buy this one........
I placed my order yesterday for the latest revision, fully functioning, with cover. The main link posted here has been updated by the designer with photos. Just click through the colors.
I ordered the black detail. I am really excited.
@joedow325 maybe you could express your concerns to the designer. While I haven't personally used the product yet, it sounds like something I'd like still. I want it to be easily removable / interchangeable. And I don't really wear long sleeves that much. I dunno. I would think there could be a way to have a back snap on like a phone case. I wouldn't want any added thickness though. Millimeters start to add up ya know.

have to say its the most ugly case i have ever saw.
What is so ugly about it? Especially the one without the flip cover. It isn't like it makes the watch huge. Typical judgy people saying negative things before they even try once themselves. Just wait for my full review...
dude. its a watch!
