the memory card is SD 2GB when i put in ppc work and when i remve it and put it again doesn't work until i restart my ppc twice

note:this thing happen in all roms
1. always stop programs from SD card before unplug,
2. always power off before unplug SD card,
3. what to do now?
3.1 apparently, your SD card is not healthy, let computer fixes it.
3.2 in PC, right click the SD card drive, select property, go to tool tab, look for option to scan disk, don't forget to select the 2 options (detect repair auto),
3.3 if PC restarts needed, Just Do It1!
4. if SD card really fixed, there should be a new folder created @ the root (SD, named likely found.000 or else), never touch it even much SD ram was being consumed.

long time ago, I've had this problem too, but with my 4gb, hard resets, soft resets, nothing helped, the solution was to formate the card, and flash the phone with NVID RUU, that helped me so you can try it and I hope It will help

you have to download this nvidRUU
Its simple, like flashing wm6> then you will have default wm5, backup your data from SD and then formate her ;-) then just flash up to your favourite wm and its done ;-) so I dont know if this will help you, but it has solved my (same) problem with 4gb ;-) I hope it will be oK good luck

Maybe dirty contacts in the prophet.
Try cleaning contacts with compressed air.

there is a problem with sd/mmc and multiple inserts/removals. Its a bug of WM200X and there is no fix for it. I unlock my sd card only when I need to change the data on it. Otherwise my card stays locked. Do a search on this forum for "Multiple SD" and "SD Erase". Good luck!

This bug only on wallaby's (XDA 1) running "WM2003 " it doesn't happen on WM2002.
I have an XDA 1 running 2002, and the SD card wipe problem also seem to happen to me.
I have an O2 Rom version 4.01.12 Eng.
According to this page: http://www.kbalertz.com/kb_843287.aspx
the problem might be related when two or more programs try to access the same files, so the data becomes corrupted and apparently being wiped...
Anyone have a solution or a suggestion?

I can find in the registry a reference to a SD.DLL, but can't find it under file explorer, even when displaying hidden items.
Maybe one of you other XDA1\Wallaby users can find it in your device?

Not searcherd for it on the device. But in the basic ROM its in there...
Should be located directly in the windows folder. i think you have to enable your device to see all files. Normaly dll's are hidden...

try formatting ur sd card with cnetx flash format .it solved the problem to certain extent.its a share ware.if u like it pls purchase after the trial period.

Can anyone else confirm this? :roll: i really dont like PPC2002 but i dont want a wipeout again...
I'm afraid I can't confirm that, I tried to format many times as FAT32 or FAT16 and I experience the same problems as before...
Try this patch, it worked with me 100% on my Wallaby device with no SD erasings since more than 3 months 8)
Use any registry program (Resco Explorer 2003 is great) to install the registry keys or enter it manually..
Don't worry, the patch is non-destructive at all !
( you can do a backup before running this patch if you wish :wink: )
i saw stefan has a much longer version of this. does anyone have any experience with either file? BTW should i even do this if i have never had the problem before?

I have noticed a similar disease on my Qtek 2020 (XDAII):
When I run it with an SDCard 512 Mb there is no problem at all, goes perfect, but as soon as I put in a brand new 1 GB SD card it crashes within a day or two. And it is irreparable... I've sent back one card to the supplier, but now on my second try with a new card and after reading in this topic I begin to felle a bit coldsweating... :x

Yup. went to use navigator today and found my SD card was nor showing. Tried it in a digicam at work which crashed the cam.
In my card reader here format shows as RAW and am having a help of a job getting it reformatted.

I also face similar problem, what i used to do is just take my sd card out and re-insert
and it worked for me

when i double click to execute it just shows no response..i mean this is strange..i found it when i downloaded sumits new ROM 23004 v6(old Gene) and i wanted to get it running on my Gene but then i faced this problem..
And the bigger problem is my camera button is malfunctioning at times when i press it,it gets stuck inside i donno y this happened coz i rarely use my camera and hence it has been pressed very rarely & also when i try the storage card method for this ROM 23004 v6 it just shows checking SD contents and den suddenly goes to the Bootloader mode..
I m Stuckup coz i had planned to change and test the upcoming ROMs in future ??
Can any of you guys provide me a solution??

Try downloading a fresh copy of RUU (you can find it on the first page of Ramersonw's cooking tutorial page.
Regarding camera button: Could be dust or something. Try cleaning up the Gene with a hard brush or something.
If your card is greater than 1 GB, SD Card update method will not work.

I have a 2Gb SD card wwhich i use especially for flashing and test rom for over six months. its just that the card must be formated fat32 and bigger than rom size thats it cards of any
size bigger than the rom size work...
@Chigz, check if your card is fat 32 format if not then format it..and you can use as fat32 no need to reformat it after flash..u can put your data in iy and next time you want to flash a rom just rename the rom file to geneimg.nbh and put it on th memory card no need to empty the card just be sure that there should be enough space t fit in the rom let your data be threit doesnt effect the upgrade process ..restart and hold camera button.....
@coolaj its not about FAT formatting dude i have updated around 10-20 Roms wid my same 1GB mem card and have faced no problems dude..and @addicted think i had already downloaded the fresh copy and tried the RUU but it dint work.anyway m re downloading the copy and tryin it again lets hope it works this time.. :-(
there should not be a problem if you already know how to flash via card...check the name of the rom file you have put on card
and what os u are using..
i am currently using WM 6.5 and the file name is RUU_signed.nbh..

If flashing through card rename it to geneimg.nbh restart and hold camera button

Just an advice, Symantec EPP f***s up with RUU and the tools folder supplied by Ramersonw . So be careful with the AV, Hope you have not changed your AV (and caused this problem) ?

So the thing is.. I was experimenting with Android I was going to format my SDcard so I could load a new build in to it. I took the card out of the phone and put it in a adapter and then in to my computer and formatted the thing. Then wen I put it back in to my phone it wouldn't recognize it anymore. Tried it in my GF's Omnia II to, but without luck. My computer recognize it though..
Anyone who knows what might be the problem?

sorry mate..i think your only chance is to hardreset your phone.
if it doesnt work then, the sd card must be dead..
how big is the card? when you try to fill it, can you make it totally full?

I've formatted the phone, and installed Energy's rom, but nothing's changed. I'ts a 16GB Card, and yes I can fill it up on the computer, but it doesn't show on the phone
so it doesnt work with another phone..
for me thats a proof, that the sd card is damaged...
have you got another sd card which works with your leo?
where did you buy it? i think you should go there...thats a warrantycase.

i have the simular problem that sd card is not recognised, other devices like loptop and other phones recognises it.
It all started when I had android 4.0.4 version and I droped my phone, then I have tried lot of things like reinstaling this ROM instaling others, then going back to orginal windows, switching SD card, but it gave no result. Then few days ago I tried insertng sd card from my friends android phone and it worked fine, so we formatet sd card usig his phone, and it worked! but today I tried taking a photo and i saw that SD card ot recognised again. I tied formating using FAT32 but no luck.
I have tryed several solutions from this and other forums forum and coments:

Got a wierd problem here that I hope someone is able to help me with. I delved into the world of flashing ROMs and seem to have done something to my memory card.
I've had an HD2 for over a year and have a 16GB memory card that has functioned perfectly over this time. I flashed the WM7 ROM onto the phone the other day (with no problems) and was able to use my memory card with WM7 with no problems.
I have now flashed Android 2.3 onto the phone and my memory card is now showing a capacity of only 200mb. I am unable to format it above this. I've had a good look around the forums/interweb but cannot seem to find a solution.
Anyone got any ideas?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Download panasonic SD formatter , it should do the trick, Oh pls dont forget to back up data

Thanks, I downloaded the SDFormatter tool and when I run it, it still only gives me the option to format it as 200MB. I am unable to adjust the partition size. Is there anything else i need to do?
there is only one thing that you can do
go back to winmo 6.5 open sd formater and let it format the sd card
then you are done, full capacity will show up
i had the same problem for a while and i tried everything but winmo formater
seems to be the only one which can solve the problem
Well...
Recently i flashed a new version of Dragon Rom, and i forget to save many images of my job, and during the instalation i choose to format system, preload... and sd card....
After the instalation i try to install the undelet for root users but it stops with a message that there ins´t a fat particion in my phone.
There is a way to rescue my images from my S3 ? My boss will gone kill me for that images...
As always the answer is no you formatted them away .
RECUVA can be tried if you want to be sure .

You can try to put your s3 card in a PC and try any normal recover software (there are many around).

Thanks man, but i Have a litle problem, my pictures was in my internal SD card.
I try recuva and others programs, But nothing works, my SD card is not listed in these programs.
How i am an agronomy, i can't record the videos or pictures because the plants now are big....

Hello there.
If you lost anything / something on your sd external you must do the following.
1. Put your sd card into a card reader.
2. Download File scavenger on your PC. http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm
// You have 2 vers: free and paid. try the free one and see if it sees your lost files; and if is it positive you know what to do .
3. Scan your sdcard, with the Long scan.
4. Save your files.
