Good luck finding them in stores. I've looked all over Chennai, Washington and New York (Visited US last winter ). They are simply not available. Only ebay has them.... and for that price you might as well wait and buy a new phone.

Second it have no memory , so while using you have only the device meomry for use , and if you found one with built in memory do not purchase , it will hang up

i purchase it one year ago with 60USD , but now in Egypt they give it free with the device ( Old GENE )

I got the software and the serial number for it as well. :idea: The software works like a charm. I have tried it on both PPC 2002 and WM 2003. I use the xda 1(does not work with XDA-2) and the range is limited to 6 feet but the fuctionality of the software more than covers for the range limitation. I've tried to different ones a while back and they never worked. The plan was to flick the channels while pretending to update my diary! Confuse the hell out of someone!
The people at pdawin are working on some sort of program for the xda 2. it will be out soon. I hope.
yeah people say that the ir in the xda2 is not an default ir like the one on xda1 so it dont work with the remote programs but since ir is ir it should be possible to make one which works on xda2
but that dont solve the issue i had with the xda1 as a remote which was that it's max range was 30cm which dont make it all that remote
of cause i cant say if the xda2's ir is stronger
Has nobody else noticed that this person is asking for $5 for the serial number to software that normally sells for $14, shouldnt the revenue be going to the software author?
I have tried VITO Remote for IR Emote Control and VITO Oscilloscope to display IR waveforms and neither works on the imate/XDAII - the developer is still working on it

As far as I can tell there'll never be a working tv remote software for the xda 2. Though it might be possible to use any other if u replaced the actual IR hardware itself.... anyone had any thoughts on this?

I don't know about changing the hardware. Lots of warranty problems and personally i don't want to take the risk for a 5ft range remote control. But it would be fun to try it on a damaged unit though.

I totally respect your opinion but having said that the software should be available to people. You know once it happened that i wanted to download something and had to make a donation for it I was ready and then tried to do it but paypal didn't work I contacted the author and he never replied so i looked for some cracks and finally got them.

You could look at the specs of the TyTN on various online stores....
You could have used Google....
You could have searched this forum...
But since you didn't: NO
Your Hermes does not have a GPS antenna. According to several threads on this forum, the hermes was only 'partially' prepared for GPS. Some hardware seems to be in place, but the crucial antenna is lacking.
So in order to get GPS on your hermes, you should buy an external (bluetooth eg) gps receiver.

Antenna missing plus chip effectively crippled by HTC.
Fixing is not a nice job even if theoretically a maybe.
AFAIK not even the hardcore "because I can" developers have tried it.
it's easier to simply buy a bluetooth gps... OR upgrade to kaiser if your contract permits or you have a lot of cash.

Well since both methods are just a purchase, they would be the same
But if you dont wanna drag around a bluetooth gps (and u gots the dough) go for the Kaiser. Built in is always better.
I bought Prophet one and a half years ago,it took all my pocket money.
I enjoy using the Prophet,though its CPU is slow.
This is my first time to use PPC Phone,I studied a lot during the time I use this PPC and also met lots friends from mainland China and the whole world.
In the fast developing nowadays,more and more Prophet users changed their Prophet to Diamond or Touch Pro.To be honest,if I got enough money,I think I will also be a member among them.But,I am just a poor schoolar.I'm now preparing for the college entrance examinations,so I do not want to waste must time in playing ppc.HA~HA

its strange that the case is same with me too JAMin was and still is my first ppc im also a college student
same case here but i jumped from a second hand jam to jamin (prophet) , my true mate imate.on a wm6.1 even so many of my touch(ELF) friends ask for embeded contacts browsinng (that ADCD...,thing on right side bar) .
Prophet is enough to me now.
I donot know where to find my post when I log in the xda bbs.In the past I can find my post from "User CP"-"All My Posts",but now I can just find my post from using the "Search",what a pity!

Hello guys its nice to know that some of you are still college students and still own one of these babies, I bought the Jamin 2 and a half years ago as soon as it launched for around a thousand green paper, it was my first phone and im still using it. People who own a Diamond or a touch PRO are still amazed by the Prophet's performance, if you notice that manilla on their device is bulky and very slow, on the other hand its damn fast on our prophets (even though its 2d) but still I know some Diamond owners friends of mine who are jealous of Manilla's response time on our prophets.

The same is the case with me June 2007 is when i bought the Prophet (JAMin) and there were few problems but still is the best phone for me and still very much in the race. btw I have all the latest stuff like Manilla and still rocking.

try www.expansys.com.uk , then select your country or nearest to u , then search for htc shift , see if it is there or not , cheers

Warning to all ! Make sure when u buy online , don't save by choosing cheaper postages lke usps priority mail - use express mail on Usps or some others more expensive , your item may not arrive after 1 month or may be lost in shipping , unable to track and so on ... Expansys is ok , they really send to your home , that's why it is expensive , just like express mail . I have learned my lessons the hard way - so beware , thks and best rgds , cheers - jimmunsw . When your item never arrive - u will regret why u dont pay extra earlier !
And I can only encourage you to buy a secondary battery, power supply, and spare stilus as long as they have some and since they are quite cheap on expansys. It'll make the shippement worth its price. (It's what I did recently, all original HTC accessories)

i am no professional at all.
my Mobile atm wont boot up at all , can i please !! ask for the best place to send it in for repair ,if repair possible.
this is one of the greatest site i ever saw ,i never contributed in any help to fix issues ,i am profoundly sorry ,i wish i could be a programmer or do best ,i am always afraid to be a bother and miss inform then inform properly.
this isn't begging but an honest explanation of my capacities and limitations in this domain.
for Network issues of and windows and Apple products , pm me im good in those and will always give you the right time.
For the mean time my HTC Amaze 4G ,i wont boot-up best i get is a flashing screen (whiteness color) .
So i guess i would need to send it in a repair shop or other for fix,it isn't a new phone but worked great.

Have you done any modification to it, or is it still completely stock? If still stock with no mods hanging on a flashing white screen is not a good sign. That generally means it needs repair. If you've tried to mod, what where you doing before it failed?
Hopefully we can find you some help
