Using a charger from another phone

Just picked up an unlocked Cingular/ATT 8525, but it only came with the USB synch cord. I know I can charge it with that, but I also have a wall charger and a car charger from my Razor V3 that seems to fit the factory specs in V&A. Would it be safe to use these with the Hermes or should I bite the bullet and get new chargers?
Any USB Charger should do it. All will be 5v at 500mA+.
As the above poster says other chargers at 500mA will work. BUT if you do some searches you will realise that the Hermes charger is 1000mAand in a few circumstances this is a better rating. So if you get the chance to pick up an official one then I suggest you do. There have been problems reported with using under powered non official chargers. For toppping up now and then it's not a problem though.
Mike
They'll work fine. Even if it's 500mA, it will just charge a little slower than the 1000mA OEM charger.
had an imate jam fried by a motorola charger... haven't been game enough to put my jasjam on again... cheers....
i would be very hesitant in using non genuine chargers. there are problems with them in regards to properly charging the unit. do a search and see for yourself on the forum
I used to use a Moto Razr charger with my wiza and my hermes. The only downfall is that if your battery completely dies it cant jump start it to begin the charge.
Is it fine to use a htc touch charger for my jasjam? So any genuine HTC charger that has a mini-USB connection should be fine?

Yes, I use my friends HTC S710 (Vox) charger all the time and it's fine both for my phone and Moto S9's headphones.

Ok thanks for that.
Would this USB charger be fine? http://www.zazz.com.au/ (there's 1.5 hours left on it) The DC output specs for the ac adapter are 400mA. Would this have a negative effect on the JasJam?

How sensitive is the phone to voltage fluctuations? Just noticed that my old 8125 charger is 5.5V and I also have a Motorola portable charger rated at 5 +/- 0.25V
I got a generic little car charger that works fine... It was "Lazer" brand from china...
Maybe, if you're in Australia you might be able to find it.
Cheers....
yeah, i'm using "Capdase" miniUSB charger [5V 1A]. it charges my hermes [from 10%] to full for ~2h30m
i have been using a motorola a1200 since i picked up this device used and it didnt come with anything
it just takes longer for the device to recognize its charging and it takes longer to fill up the battery

Rezound charger port question

Hey, I currently don't have the Rezound and was wondering if any owners can help.
The charger port looks kind of different. Can the usual microUSB or miniUSB (whatever its called) charger work on that and also for data or do I have to have the stock cable for both charging and cable?
Thanks

The port is an EXTmicro USB. It takes both standard micro USB, and HTC's EXTmicro USB. If you use standard micro USB, just plug it in so the flat part of the connector is on top.

[Q] Should I buy a wall charger?

Should I buy a usb wall charger for this phone?
I know it comes with a USB cable so I can use my desktop to charge it but I believe I can charge the phone much faster using a wall socket, correct?
Is this OK? And is the USB cable black?
Thanks.

It will charge faster from the AC wall adapter, and the product you linked to seem's decent enough for basic charging although it doesn't include a USB cable so you will need to purchase that separately ("Needs to pair with a USB charging cable (not included)").

I ended up buying this one, seems a little better. The USB cable is included with the phone so I'm good.
Thanks.

Quick charge v3.0

Is G5 charger in the box support QC v3.0 or standard charger??
Yes, it comes with a QC 3.0 charger in the box. Well, mine from O2 UK did.
Consensus from all the US carriers is that it is QC 2.0.

Does it say QC 3? Mine from EE just says Quick Charge. Seems to charge at near identical speeds to a 3rd party QC3 I have.

I bought a QC 3.0 USB plug in case. It charges quicker than the one in the box.

Doesn't state so probably have to test the charging speed to guess it. But some people have reported that contacting LG they have been told it's QC 2.0

Anker USB-C

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about buying an Anker Powerline+ USB-C to USB-A 3.0 but I'm not sure if it will work with my device. Has anyone tried that cable?
P.S: The official USB-C cable for the HTC U11 is not available in my country.

Thank you. Maybe I have a faulty USB port because a bought a cheap USB-C cable and it doesn't work, it just shows "slow charging" and it takes up to 5 hours to reach 100% also when I connect it to my PC it shows a message that the device could not be recognized.

Check your power block? If you use a QC compatible block and cable it should fast charge. Try the anker cable

I bought a Quick Charge 3.0 and a USB-C 3.0 and it works perfect. All the problem was related to the cheap cable I bought before.
