Hi!
My "call screen" (when you press the green button) is looking strange, it's been like this since the 6.5-rom i used expired (beta testing program...) and it looks the same no mater what ROM I install. Everything is just white when I open the dialler and start typing a phone number. Any ideas what this could cause this?

So I have a habit of sliding the phone open and then pressing the hardware messaging key, and no matter what, it never seems to work. I press the button, and Ill see the today screen, but no messaging window. I have to slide it back closed and open again and everything sorts itself out.
I've tried looking, but haven't seen anyone complain about this particular problem. Anyone else fret about this? any solutions?
no one has this problem?

I find my X01HT in landscape mode when i wake him um with the "on" button, and have to wait for it to "think" a litle bit to obey me, while that, if I try to push any command he will go crazy and the image will stay locked in the last scene and will not get actualized... Kind of annoying thing, using black Satin... But i'll try schaps now to see if that goes away...

Im on WM5.
Vijay, I don't want to disable orientation permanently. Just sometimes, I want to start messaging, so in stanby mode itself, ill open and start it up. thats what confuses the 8525, thats all. I have to close the phone, and then slide it open again for it to regain consciousness!
Its no biggie, but i was just wondering if any1 else had a similar issue.
FINALLY... WHAT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR

I've come to notice that no one REALLY knew how to fully disable screen rotation on WM devices.
Some offered 3rd party apps to get the job done, some only knew how to disable automatic rotation, but when the device went into standby and woke up again - the screen rotated back. So that didnt really work.
So if you're as desperate as i was about screen rotation,
this is what you need to do:
1. Get dotfred's free taskmanager HERE, and run it.
2. Go to "Devices" tab, and look for "MIS1:" device (oem_misc.dll)
3. Long-Tap on it, and tap on "Stop"
4. Long-Tap on it again, and now choose "Set Manual"
5. Go to "Notifications" tab, and look for "Notifications\NamedEvents\VCPowerWakeupEvent"
6. Tap on it to make it selected
7. Disable it
(In dotfred's taskmanager, there should be a button for disabling it, but for some reason some devices couldn't see the button icons, although the buttons are still clickable. Under the notifications list there is an empty light-blue line - the buttons are there, eventough you can't see them.
The disable buttons is somewhere i the middle of that light-blue line, just tap the center until a message box popps up and asks if you'd like to disable this notification - Tap on yes.)All those steps are a one time deal - they stick even after an SR.
This has been tested on htc universal and works great.
The screen will keep its orientation even if you flip your screen, take out your built in keyboard, or turn the device off and back on.
The only time your screen will revert back to the original orientation is when you soft reset your device.
Hope this helps

OK...VZW6800 with DCD ROM 3.12.
Is it normal for the phone screen to always open behind certain windows. For example if I get a text, email...when I goto look at the text or message the phone window opens behind it. So when I am finish with the text or message and hit "ok" to close out I see the phone window as if I am dialing a number. I then close it to get back to the today screen.
Why is that so and does anyone else have this experience on the 3.12 rom?
I have not had that happen.
happens to me constantly, but there is another thread in this place about this.
did a search...still cannot find it...need the right key word to pull it up...
Are you using the kitchen? That happened to me and it was one of the keyboards that I was selecting. Can't remember which one, though...

Wow...wish that was my case I do have rom 3.12 but I did not do the kitchen I took it as it was on the board...
This is getting somewhere now...any one else who had this issue and fixed it????
Please
So I've noticed this issue with a few different ROMs I've flashed (TeslaCoil, Das BAMF, VirusAirborne) that when I open the phone application and begin typing a number it does not automatically begin searching/displaying contacts until I backspace out all of the characters that I've entered. Once the characters have been cleared the usual (recents, favorites, etc) show up. Not sure where this small gap in referencing comes from but was looking to resolve it..
I'm not positive but I think that some of those roms utilize Launcher Pro, and that has been a Launcher Pro bug since the Thunderbolt came out. I am using a stock rom, but since I am using Launcher Pro, the same thing happens to me.
clearly i did a horrible job of searching because it's been remedied thanks to this thread/post:

'Note: there seems to be a little bug with all 3rd party launchers where if you you hit the phone button and the dialer pops up, the contact list is blank and the smart dial does not work. To remedy this long press phone, select a new application and restart Launcher Pro then add the phone back, you may also have to open up the dialer and try to dial a few numbers and delete them and the contacts should appear. Not really sure why this happens. '
reassigning the phone application shortcut in the launcher pro dock got it up and working.
mod close plz!
Hello:
I have a chinese Iphone copy (MT6573 processor, android 2.2) with a laucher that mimics IOS.
I'm having a problem with the phone dialer. Always when I originate a call, the dialer blocks the screen, what makes impossible to finish the call.
The dialer app image is on screen but when I press the button to finish the call or the back button, screen just go black. When I press again, it returns to the dialer screen, but if I press buttons again, the screen is cleared again.
The dialer just releases the screen when my interlocutor finishes the call or telco operator finishes the voice mail.
I installed GO Dialer EX and Espier Launcher, but the problem persist.
Do you guys hane any clue what is happening?
Thanks
Rods.
Could you take a few screenshots? I'm confused on what you mean here.
