Crappy sound with Motorola S9 - A2DP problem? - Touch HD Accessories

The sound I get from my Motorla S9 (which I used successfully with my previous phone, an Atom Life) is totally crappy. It does sound like it's playing as a handsfree, not a stereo headset. I have set it to be both, and I have even tried to remove the tick with "hansfree", but no way. Does anybody have an idea what this can be, or maybe even have one working correctly, so I know it can be done?

Has anyone use this headset with the 8525?
Let me know about sound quality, range, function? I found some info for it on the Wizard forum...but i want to know how good it is with a more to date phone like the 8525. The profile is very small...about the size of a US quarter.
Yeah, I'm actually wondering about that one too.
Bluetake BT450rx
I am using this one with my HTC Hermes.
Works fine with some background noise thought.

I use the BT420Rx
http://www.bluetake.com/products/BT420Rx.htm, for the last 6 months without any major problems.
I use it both on my Hermes and my Laptop (Dell Inspiron E1505).
I don't use the handsfree option with the my Hermes just the A2DP.
I finally got the headphone in. I am very impress. It is light weight. It only works with WMP...controlling the pause, ff, play, etc...But sound wise it works with all players. I also have TCPMP and the stereo sound does come thru but no remote control function.
Stereo go to mute when the phone come in...and resume play when you end the call. Distance is about 30ft...not very far. Sound is good. I have the 8525 with all the hack software installed..so the quality is very good. It is better than some of the Jabra i had before.
What hack software did you use to get it to work?
I use the HtweakC2.0 and the Sleuth A2DP fix

A2DP - No sound when calling

Hey!
A few weeks ago i tested an A2DP headset (motorola) with my Qtek 8500. After pairring and activating handsfree and A2DP on the unit, i tested it out. Music playback works great, but when making calls, no sound is present, neither from the phone or the headset, and the guy on the other end cant hear a thing..
I thought it was the headset that was buggy, as I tried it with my TyTn as well, and same thing.
Then i got a Nokia BH-501 today, and quess what? Same **** different wrapping. I now believe the problem lies in WM5.0, and someone else must have the same problem.
Qtek 8500
Newest Danguard ROM installed. (When i tried the moto headset, the previous ROM was installed)
i use the sony dr-bt10cx ear bud type. the only controls on it are volume and on/off/discover. when it is set to wireless stereo, i can only answer by using the flip. if i call out under the wireless stereo profile, the sound and mic go thru the headset. the sony-ericsson earbud one works fine for taking calls and listening to music, but has a 3 or 4 hour battery life compared to the 10-12 hours of the dr, and the sound quality isn't as good as the dr. that's been the case on the last qtek rom, and the first beta cingular rom

Anyone here using the Plantronics Pulsar or Jabra BT8010 BT Stereoheadset?

Can someone tell me how well it works with the BT stack?
I have the HT820s but I want a new pair. The batteries in my HT820s don't last very long anymore.
Thanks
I would like to know also..
I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna buy a 8010 as soon as I can find a place that sells it..

WHHHHAT!!!! You don't know about blueheadsets.com? They have it though they say it doesn't work well with the 8525. I was all set to buy it until I read that.
They've had them for close to 5 months now. They are down to 104 from 119.
Your right I did forget about them.
They said the same thing about my bt800 when I bought it but it works fine with my 8525. I think most users issues with the headset is they are not using the correct A2DP fix.
I think I'm just gonna pull the trigger mainly because with the 8010 I can store my contacts in the headset so when someone calls it will always display the callers name. Plus it has multi point which I need for my pc.

Let me know how it goes. I know the BT stack on our model is wonky so I was concerned.
love it! love it! love it! I own SX66, had to upgrade BT stack to 3900
tried, motorola HT820(?), Bluetake iPhono, Samsung SBH100, Scala500
functionalitywise none of them are even close.
HT820 - music is pretty good, earphones pretty comfortable but the plastic connector between earpieces is not comfortable when wearing jacket. as hands free it's relatively good, had troubles switching between audio and handsfree profiles while picking up phone cals
iPhono - small, light, but charge connector somehow broke and cannot turn it anymore on, music is good, handsfree sucks and almost never used
SBH100 - bigger than iPhono, but controls are better, music is good, handsfree sucks, quality sucks, after a week broke one earhandle, doesnt have USB charger, never used as handsfree
Scala 500 - just handfree, accidentally got into washing
BT8010 - great, great, great! pretty loud especially with TCPMP equalizer, handsfree best of all above, havent used anything else though, dont understand why there's no battery in detachable earpiece for longer life.
recommend to anyone

I ordered it on Friday. They had it shipped with a tracking number in 25 mins.
The reason I was concerned is because I've heard that the BT capabilties of the BT8010 is limited and doesn't work on quite a few devices. I'm hoping using WM6 will change the incompatability factor...since I don't think it has been tested against WM6. If all else fails It will still work with my laptop which is why I'm buying it in the first place.
cool
am awaiting your review with great interest xultar.
I just picked it up at verizon wireless..I'm at work though so I won't be able to try it until later tonight..
FRACKING AWESOME AS HAYLE!
OMG the sound is great on WM6 guys! OMG!!! The sound is WAY WAY WAY better than the HT820. I haven't had any skips or stutters. Right now I'm listening to my Slingbox.
I will say when the volume is higher I can here some occasional static...but it is mainly on certain voices.
Paring. Easy as pie. Did it in the dark.
Fit is o.k. I have small ears so all BT headsets fit awkward (except for the Flamingo)
The switch from right ear to left is as easy as rotating the ear loop.
I'll post a more coherant review later...right now I'm a little high on muscle relaxers. Plus I have yet to use them on a call.
But did you notice? I purchased them online on Friday and I had them by Monday and shipping was only 10 bucks. I love Blueheadsets.com people.
Well I had to flash my OS for other reasons so I didn't have much time to test really.
Pairing was pretty easy and I'll tell you now when this headset is connected ALL sounds goto the headset. Ringtones and everything so its probably a good idea to have vibrate on just in case. I turned my vibrate on notifications and everything. NOTE: If you do not like this feature the only way I know to change it is to go into the bluetooth in the phone and just uncheck 'Wireless Stereo'..
The headset also has a vibrate function which is really nice I did not know that until it started ringing and vibrating.
Voice Command 1.6 works fine and does work from the headset and initiate calls with the correct hacks installed. I was concerned that since the headset does stereo and phone that voice activation from the headset might not work and it did stop working but I figured out that you must make sure the music mode is turned off before you click to make a phone call. You ONLY need to worry about doing that if you want to activate VC from the headset and its very simple you just click on the mode button on the headset.
I haven't had a lot of time to test out phone calls but people don't have any problems hearing me. I think the incoming volume is kinda low and that may be just me but I would like it a bit louder but its acceptable.
The controls are very easy to use even with the headset on your ear..
It fits pretty well also and is pretty light. I love the fact that the ear hook comes off and at first it was hurting the back of my ear and while I was messing with the ear loop I noticed that you can actually adjust the ear loop shape its self. Very nice and after I adjusted it, it fits very well.
As with my Jabra BT800 it has a display on the front and its sooo much better then my old one. The display is very easy to read and I love the phonebook software. You can only store like 25 contacts in the headset phonebook but what I like about that is I can place the people that call me the most in the phonebook and when they call their name actually shows up on the display instead of the number.
Now for the music portion..
Without any hacks there is no skipping or stuttering what so ever. The sound wasn't that great so I launched HTCTweak and set the audio to excellent and it still didn't sound as good as I expected. So I went ahead and verified the settings below
[HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings]
Value name=BitPool; Value data=52 (Decimal)
Value name=MaxSupportedBitPool; Value data=52 (Decimal)
Modify, Value name=UseJointStereo; Value data=0 (Decimal, Originally 1)

After turning the phone on and off the sound is freakin damn good. I'm not sure how good the sound is suppose to be but its good enough for me and the stereo headset works great. I did NOT apply slueths ad2p fix because that seems more for skipping problems and so far it has never skipped..
While listening to music I called myself and BAM the music paused and it started ringing in my headset. I answered the call and it worked fine. Once I ended the call BAM the music started playing again. Thats too damn cool..
Thats all I really have so far after a few hrs of testing so I'll update later on.
I forgot to mention I had Skype installed earlier and YES it does use the headset for Skype. Although I was having problems with Skype that I'm pretty sure are unrelated to the headset because I was trying a different ROM.
I'm now back on Black v2.0 but I don't have Skype installed yet to do more testing so more on that later.
For those of you that want a headset that works with VC1.6 and does stereo etc without jumping through 50 hoops so far this seems to be the headset.
I've got a Blue Ant X5 and a Motorola HT820 both paired with my device easily, both control it as it should (volume, play/pause, and on the moto: track skip forward and back). I agree listen time isn't so great with the moto, one of the reasons for going to the X5 was the removable, replaceable battery packs. Also, the X5 just sounds better than the moto unit does... however both sound awesome with this phone.
OK let's see Scale 1 to 5(best)
Pairing ease 5
Feel Quality - 3 Size - 3 Fit - 3
Look - 3
Sound - A2DP 4 On Call ???(haven't made or received call yet)
Support - Site is confusing but I actually found the place where you can download the Control Centre application. Unfortunately the BT stack apparently conflicts with a lot of devices so they may either issue a firmware update or drop it. I'd like them to release the equaliser functionality as promised.
Works with MSVC no problem as long as you have the appropriate hacks installed.
Works great with my laptop BT stack which is the main reason I'll use it until I start travelling again.
My registry settings were already 58/30/0. I updated the 30 to 52 and I'm going to test it out to see if it makes a difference. If it does I'l try 58.
Overall I'm pleased as punch with my purchase.
Well the weird problems I was having when I first got the headset must have been related to the ROM I was using before because ever since I switched back to black I have had no problems the last 2 days.
I was streaming a radio station the other day and my battery got hot. Not too hot but definatly hot and the only software I have installed right now is VC1.6 so it must be the phone no big deal.
Definatly need a extra battery if you plan on using this to listen to some tunes for awhile. I got like 3 hrs continuous play until the battery hit below 20%..
I also want to note that I am using WM6 so that may be why things work so well. I have no clue how well it works with wm5 so please keep that in mind if you want to get this headset.
I'm on Black as well and it works flawlessly for me too. I informed blueheadsets.com that the BT8010 does indeed work on the 8525 but only if the WM6 rom is in use. They may change their website warning to indicated that rather than indicating that it does not work on all 8525 devices.
Oh another thing I like about it is that you can tell the headset which device you want it to connect to. I likethat because I had a really hard problem telling the HT820 to let go of my 8525. It go to the place where I couldn't have them paired @ all. But now I think I can have my 8525 paired to my Jawbone and the BT8010 and switch back and forth between my headsets with ease thanks to the mode button on the BT8010.

One thing I've noticed is you need to make sure BT Stereo Audio is set in the control panel - sounds - 2nd tab. I set my to BT HQ Audio as default because basically that's all I use now-a-days.

Ahhh thats probably it then..I'll try after work tonight thanks..
Well it will connect to my computer after using the stereo setting in sounds like you suggested but unfortunatly the sound skips and cuts out etc.
I know it has to do with the dongle since it streams stereo fine with my phone. I have a 2.0 version dongle but its no biggie it works great with my phone so I'll just wait to see if a firmware fixes it or get another dongle someday..

Crap Bluetooth?

I purchased mine yesterday. Once the WOW effect wore off, came the disappointments..
The bluetooth is terrible. Lots of static in my Plantronics Voyager Pro, and also it pairs with my Nissan BT handsfree, but only connects the first time, afterwards its not possible to connect to it anymore.
Flashed to the latest KE7, factory reset, did not help at all.
How can such an expensive phone be like this? Bluetooth is one of the most important features in a phone...
I have the same pairing issue like you. Don´t get my Sony Bluetooth headset to work. Tested it with two devices.
I have car bt xplode System and i never had it so good. Always connects. It does skip if wifi is on though. I had the same issue with gs1.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Happily mine works nice, with SonyEricsson a2dp stereo headset, Belkin a2dp receiver, a nokia handsfree (not sure about the model), the file transfer is faaaaaast
It has paired everything I used it with and no problems so far.
The sound is even better than it is via my retired iphone.
does anyone tried working with SE LIVEVIEW.
My N1 had truble, and looking forword to SGS2 and don't know yet if it is OK.
Also have problem with a Plantronic Discovery 975. Statics and stuttering sound. No problem pairing though and it is the same (bad) sound quality if I'm near or 5 m away.
I'm on KE7 firmware.
Wow, should this be added to the official bug list?
For me, bluetooth intermittently skips if wifi is turned on. Once I turn wifi off, its crystal clear. This has happened on all my different bluetooth headsets so if other are experiencing the same thing, I think this is definitely an "official bug".
Mine skips, and randomly drops connection to my JVC car stereo requiring a reboot. Back and forward buttons don't work reliably either.
Anyone who says theirs is clear is wrong. They just don't have an ear for decent sound quality. The bitpool on every Android phone (including Cyanogen) is horribly low and it really shows in the mid-high tones (ie hi-hats). No-ones is different.
Worst of all, sometimes if I get out of my car, I'll get a 'hot' leg where the device is overheating from the bluetooth going nuts. I feel like it's damaging my SGS2.
Yapp, can confirm that turning of wifi stopped the stuttering. Sound isn't great but probably usable. Defenitly a bug?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Any progress on this yet? Mine drops the sound quite a lot. Remains connected but just no sound and does this about every 15 minutes, requiring bluetooth to be turned on and off.
First let me start off by saying, my bluetooth pairs well with my Motorola S7HD and the sound to ME is DECENT until you put it in your pocket and from there it gets "staticky" somewhat but not too bad.
As for the car, I have to manually pair the phone to the car stereo every time. Sometimes it would connect it to automatically. The sound to MOST of us in the car is fine. Keep in mind most of us aren't audiophiles. If it plays well, understandable, and without any static, it's a ok in my book.
The suckerpunch is that sometimes the bluetooth would drop connection now and then. I need to do a restart on the phone to get it flowing again. Meh.
If anyone finds a fix, please tell
i also get crappy sound quality, but whats worse is, that neither the mic nor the earplugs work on my BT headset when i try to answer a call! (sony ericsson mw600 headset)
only when i pause the call and resume it, the headset works!
did anyone experienced this?
solved it by disabling wifi....seems to be a common android issue
Any progress on this issue?
E.g. does 2.3.4 improve?
Hi @all,
I noticed a (bluetooth) headset issue while calling (not only in this rom, even in all roms i have tested): when wifi is on, crack sounds make every call inaudible.
It happens with plantronics voyager 520 and BMW professional (2011) car kit.
I can't believe having the best phone with such an error.
Suspending wifi, stops the crack sounds, but the quality of headset calls is much worse than with my "old" SGS1.
I use my phone two hours a day for calling. I'm not amused about this fact.
Other surveillances?

Question Bluetooth sound quality is horrible

Hi, I bought the nord 2 a few days ago, it's a wonderful phone but I have a problem.
The bluetooth audio quality is horrible. I don't know if it's only on my device , i have tried everything, the stock Dirac hd sound does not support bluetooth devices so the sound is flat. Also it seems like it's playing music on low bit rate. I have switched from aac to sbc there's a slight difference but still it sucks. Also changing some settings in developer settings did nothing.
I have Huawei Freebuds 4I and on every other device the sound is amazing but on the nord it's awful.
Currently I'm using wavelet eq but still the music is playing at a low bit rate. I don't wanna root my phone for viper4android so is there any other solution to this?

One plus Nord 2 is a budget phone yet not cheaper than other budget phones, yet they give a low-quality device like this. Try listening in a different Bluetooth headset.
No issue here, I have samsung galaxy buds+ TWS (aac mode) and a Marshall Mid (aptx mode) and bluetooth quality is perfect in both cases.
And for the lack of Dirac support in bluetooth mode I use the app "Poweramp Equalizer" to get some more bass in my headset
For music you can try jethdaudio player. It is extremely good.
I don't know what you are talking about I am using Realme Buds Wireless 2 on my Nord 2 and it sounds amazing and I mean it since I am picky about the audio quality with negligible delay like mine cost about 1/3rd of yours so it's probably a compability issue LDAC and AAC both work great on nord 2 ofc LDAC sounds better at the cost of more battery usage....

Maybe a faulty piece really should just visit a service centre with all those headsets and see if it can be fixed if possible test out some more headsets by asking from your friends. Also check the settings of the music app you are using it's unlikely but still possible that it's set on low
Can't get it replaced.. Cracked the screen 5 minutes after I took the phone out of the box
Most folks dont know this, but bluetooth is a modern NAME for 'A' software version of hardware based tech capable of transmitting 240v AC through the air.
Tunguska anyone? That was the test, and the origional copywright is owned by TESLA.
Bluetooth, was designed to do the same, it's designed for AC current, explaining why bluetooth digital audio is the WORST sound ever invented.
Blutooth sounds so crap due to the following:
1: The inventors of digital audio decided to remove EVERY frequency the human ear cant hear. (according to who?)
2: They are now removing the lower base frequencies that we COULD hear, if we had say speaker's like my set of BW speaker's used by the BBC in the 60's and 70's, which can produce EVERY frequency. To make these speakers today is £14.000 PER speaker.
3: By removing all lower frequencies, they removed what is known in music, as the BODY of sound. They started this with digital techno, aka goa trance. I stopped buying musical digital instruments just because of this. If you take a 90's version of say 'Rising High's Church of Extacy' ( The tune that officially killed rock and roll due to it's pure analogue sound quality, hardness, and the deepest bass ) then play it through bluetooth, all you hear is tsstsstsstss, because the tweaters you think are great sounding speakers literally cant play anything under the highhat, without ECHO to fake the BASS.
If it's audio QUALITY you want, DROP bluetooth. Simple.
Another note:
As a dj of over 40 years in the undergound dance music scene, the one thing I cant understand is why I now have no CHOICE but to buy headphones for djing with a bluetooth mic built in! This allows whoever is spying on what we SAY to record my tune or live mix before I leave the gig, and claim it as their own. Try buying decent ANALOGUE headfones for djing.
Final note.
Nfc: the modern day verion of blutooth. Interfere's with bluetooth audio in that the AC current also has it's own magnetic field, which can, like binaural beats, interfere with bluetooth. Most fones use bluetooth AND Nfc. nae luck.
I personnaly know the best hacker in Scotland. 12 letters after his name in computer sciences...! He wrote the bluetooth app the gov called tap n trace, and he sold it to them for £30.000, they added Nfc (Near field Communication) and got most people in the world to install it in their fone. NIce one Gi88's!
Bluetooth... did you bite?

I am using my Sony WH-1000XM3 and it supports LDAC. The audio quality is great with support for equaliser. The only way to get LDAC was change the mode from connection stability to sound quality mode in sony headphone app. By default, it supports SBC. Pls check your headphone's app and also check if your headphone supports relevant codec.hope this helps.
I had a similar issue with my Nord 2 and my Libratone Too BT speaker, sound was horrible, like an old cassette player. The speaker only supports the SBC codec, I think.
I was able to fix the sound quality by enabling developer options and switching to AVRCP 1.6 and MAP 1.4 there.
Update A.16 fixes Bluetooth audio.
the problem is just with the freebuds 4i, but I don't understand why..
