It's very doubtful. What a price!!!

Well, actually they have even more batteries at a really low price :

I guess the quality is not so good since it's not a brand/made in china but it may be worth the price.

guess there is probably some copyright thing.. lolz.. but it really spoils the look of this phone..

If you suspect bad quality but still think it's worth a shot, you can use a digital Lithium battery charger to test whether or not the battery holds true to its specs. Since I'm a RC-model hobbyist, I already have one and I'm considering to try out this pack and see if it's for real.
Besides, because it's a cheap pack it doesn't mean it's a bad pack. Most cellphone OEM packs out there are rebrands of cheap mass-produces. In fact, cellphone batteries are the cheapest of the cheap since there's no need for a high discharge rating. Some of the best packs I've used in my hobby are from chinese brands, they cost about 12 USD each and are much bigger and have a higher discharge tolerance than the one linked in this thread.
Also, I can tell you for sure that there's no need to worry about exploding batteries, the worst that can happen is that the voltage drops and the battery cell swells slightly during charge. This is refered to as a "bad cell" and as long as you discard the battery at first sign of swelling there is no danger. Burning or melting can only occur if you charge or discharge the battery too quickly (I mean WAY faster than a cellphone could ever accomplish), explosions are very hard to achieve but possible if you for example plug the battery directly into the mains. I've tried this a few times on old packs, and mostly you only get smoke and sometimes you get a proper BANG.

Always such an ugly back cover ... unbelievable

MDA III Extended Battery???

OK, I know these things are new... but if anyone get a lead on when/where anyone starts producing a larger battery for the MDA III's please post here!!!!
the 1400mah standard just isnt gonna do it for me...
Looking at how the factory battery fits, seems to me no problem to make a slightly bulkier battery with, say, 2500 mah capacity? woudn't hurt use or cosmetics of phone... the battery already sits lower than the camera area on the back.....
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!1
why don't you just got a second battery for only $65, that's what i did

They have batteries in many format for the blue angel. They are developing a 3000mah one . I'm not sure how they will look, but there is a picture of their current one if you click the 2600mah for the o2 xda II. I think the new 3000mrh will look like that
Mugen Power Extended Battery for MDA IIs. This battery will be released soon.
Capacity : 3300mAh
I just got one of these MDA IIIs. I asked for accessories but they had none!
I want an extended battery too so I went and got a lead acid 12v from a scrap yard and fitted it on a pair of roller skates (a skateboard would do). I then purchased a 600 watt inverter from Maplin Electronics and coupled this to a transformer from one of my old Sinclair Spectrums computer and before anyone jumps down my throat - yes I added a voltage regulator so not to blow up my new MDA III.

They have 33 in stock of the 3300 Mah batteries, they're currently out of the 2200 Mah ones. $124(us) and $79(us).
Does anyone know if there's any reason these batteries wouldn't be suitable for an Orange SPV M2000??

New 3600mAh standard size battery. Anyone has one?

I found an interesting battery replacement from Paylessgadget.com
http://www.paylessgadget.com/htc-y-4.html
It looks like a standard size battery, but it's 3600mAh!
It means 33.3% longer battery life than the original one. Very tempting.
One thing I'm worried about is I couldn't see any review before.
And this Paylessgadget.com is the only site (as far as I know) which is selling this battery.
Anybody here had experience with this battery?

I sent an email to the seller asking for the actual specs.
The battery does not look to have an official brand and does not look like an HTC OEM battery, also it is listed under "BlackBerry" accessories. So this online retailer may have some specs wrong online.

Good to hear the seller went back to the original price. I own a business myself and I believe it's bad practice for a business to raise prices on the fly. $59.95 is a pretty sweet deal. I don't know if I should get 2 of these batteries over one mugen power 6600 battery. What are the pros and cons?

I'm also thinking $59.95 is the pretty sweet price point.
Bad, bad, bad news...
I should have remembered my electricity 101: E=V x A Energy (watts) equals volts x amps.
The original battery is 2700 mAh, but 7.4 V, hence capable of producing 19.98 or roughly 20 Watts. On the othe hand, the Yoobao does have indeed 3600 mAh, but is only rated at 3.7 V !!!!! At first I thought it was a typo on their site, but the reality is that the Yoobao p.o.s. only produces 3.6x3.7 = 13.32 Watts, or only 66% of the original battery!!!!!!!
So the theory was clear, this battery was twice as expensive as the original one, and produced 1/3 less energy.
In any case, I did a full round of tests and the theory was right. In balanced powwer settings, I normally get 2 hours of light surfing use. With the Yoobao battery I hardly got 1 hour and 29 minutes. WHAT A WASTE AND WHAT A SCAM!
If I don't get a full refund on Moinday, I will do a full chargeback.
Buyer beware.
I thing I will now look into the Mugen...
hi acarriles, this doesn't make sense. How can a 3.7V battery drive a device that requires 7.4V, it wouldn't have worked in the first place??!! And the charging voltage (8.4V) and current coming from the Shift would kill the battery! Are you able to perform more extended test?
Expansys Shift battery 2700mAh @ 3.7V !
Dear all Shift owners , i have just spoken to Expansys , they confirmed that the Shift battery that they are selling is only 3.7V with 2700mAh and it is Oem manufacturer . This may mean that it may give your shift half of the battery life as compare to your original Htc battery ! So beware of the hours of capacity of these batteries as oppose to the mAh and Vdc of the mentioned specs . I think a safer investment ( costly it is ! ) would be either an original Htc battery , a 4400mAh Mugen battery or a 6600mAh mugen battery - all 3 rated at 7.4v , or big capacity extended battery for laptops . But just keep in mind and get to know more info of these cheaper oem batteries from china , unless lower price is your main concern . Thanks and regards - jimmunsw

Did you return your product yet?
If not, and you are stuck with it, can we do a test?
Would you mind opening the battery casing and taking a few pictures for me?
I am working a modular external battery where you can replace old/dead cells rather than the whole battery. I'm also working on making it selectable voltage to power at 3.7V (for an X7500) and 7.4V (for an X9500), plus making it scalable to where you can make it 2200, 4400, 6600, 8800, 11000, 13200, and up MaH simply by sliding another pair of of x7500 batteries into a holder.
see my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3854691&postcount=65
This would be an external battery with cable, but if your pictures show me different, maybe the cells from the X7500 battery can be moved into the shell of the Yahboo shell....just trying new things here...
Dear Bradaland ,
Respect , i respect you for your hdd upgrading and now external battery mod for your advantage and shift , i too have both the device - fantastic device it is man , i hope you can share more with pictures or video for this battery mod , i may invest in sealed lead acid battery type but i now wait for your result first , also pls either you or our experts - please finish up with the bluetooth , sd card and mic and speaker plugin - these items are essiential to complete our wm6 critical usages . What about SSD instead of Hdd ? Can this be done by you too ? Please let me know . I like to thank you and all other gurus for all your wonderful and hardwork and sleepless nights for doing all you can and sharing with all shift owners around the world , it is just too damn good , cheers - jimmunsw
Sorry Bradaland, I already sent the battery back. $100 was too much money to waste in a useless battery... I may also try building one using lithium polimer cells... I'll keep you all posted. BTW I did install an SSD last week and the performance is phenomenal, well worth the investment.
Dear acarriles ,
I am looking at sealed lead acid battery of 12v 12Ah or 12v 17Ah complete with similar charger to power my shift for at least 6 to 7 hours at one go . It is big and comprises a strings of connections but it is cheaper than mugen power , plus point is it can also power other devices , but mobility is somewhat compromised ( but you know power is there ). It is very good to hear your ssd is working smooth and fast , i may look into that upgrade later . Cheers to you and bradaland - jimmunsw

it is not true, I get yesterday battery from expansys and is exactly the same as original one-no matter what expansys say the batteries are the same (i have shift uk version),so if one battery cost now £21.99 and has 2700mAh, for me is better to buy 3 this batteries than one chunky Mugen battery 6600mAh which cost about 130-140£ , and still before power runs out I can go to hibernate mode and change battery for fully charge one.

Larger Capacity Batteries == thicker G1?

I usually wouldn't care about the size of my G1 and adding thickness to it for the sake of adding battery life but as of late I gotten a hold of a nice plastic cover for my G1 which also doubles as a neato belt clip (for only 10 bucks... flirtin with them T-Mobile ladies does me good ).
Thus, now adding thickness to my phone in exchange for getting rid of this hard cover/belt clip isn't a option I'm very likely to take up and last I checked up on high capacity batteries it would add sigificant thickness like a 2100mah (or was it 2400 *shrugs*). Was wondering if there's any batteries that doesn't add to overall physical size while giving me better then stock life of just 1100mAh. Thanks!!
I know how you feel, I have a sexy ass neon green hard case for my g1, make it look sick. I had the same problem and tried three different battery retailers online for an extended life battery. The one that I settled on was the Andida: check out this post. You can find the eBay seller most of the people in the thread bought it from, good seller but ships from Hong Kong so shipping takes a while. I'd solidly recommend the Andida, I've had nothing but excellent performance out of it, considerably better than the OEM battery from HTC. Some people had mixed reviews about it, but in my experience, it was an excellent purchase.
I'm also using an Andida battery I bought off of ebay for just under $10, and it works beautifully! It's a 1600mAh battery with the exact same dimensions as the stock 1150mAh battery HTC provides, giving you 40% more battery life between charges without adding any thickness to the phone. It's the highest capacity battery I've found that doesn't require you to get a deeper back cover.
I've been useing the Innocell 1400mAh battery and its worked out quite nicely.

Not necessarily lies. Battery life is heavily dependent on your particular rom.
Hero based roms seems to suck battery like no tomorrow.
If you are running a hero based rom, try running the latest Cyanogen rom and post back results.

I considered this, until I realized all the hardware that I'd need to drop the voltage from 12 to 3.7 efficiently....

2 HTC batteries wired in parallel = 3400?

I wanted to know you're thoughts on getting a second htc battery and wiring them in Parallel. (soldering them together) Should be same voltage just different capacity. Do you think it would work? Would it break anything? Only thing i was worried about is the overcharge protection in the individual batteries.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
In parallel, voltage will stay the same amps will be added. In series, voyage will double, amps will stay the same. When you do this, voltage multiplied by power will give the power output. It should be okay to charge as one will stop charging. What I am thinking but could be wrong is that since the batteries have overcharge protection..in parallel, when one charges to full, the other one still will charge since there is not a broken connection say if it was in series. But only testing will see if they work.
Im thinking / hoping it will charge both at the same rate, just 1/2 the speed, it would take twice as long though. It should be same charge time as say Seido Innocell 3400 mAh Super Extended Life Battery. I could get a second battery for $20. Where the 3400 and 4000 seido cost 70 and 75.
Basically trying to get the 3400 for $20 and 2 min solder time. Just wanted to know if it would ruin the built in protection.
Let us know if that works, if it does I am gonna give it a shot.
let us know please. and how are you going to hold these in your phone?

The only damage might be from the heat of the solder gun. Those babbies, from what I seen are cmos chips very close to the connections of the terminal.
why would you even do this?
This just sounds like a very bad idea... Please video tape it for us!
This is a bad idea. I mean it's just better if you shelve more money and get a bigger battery. Props to you if you find a convenient way of charging these batteries in parallel.
Sent from my 3D Beast
My opinion:
You are taking a risk of ruining 2 batteries to save a couple bucks? Worst case scenario: You buy the extra battery ($20.00), you ruin both batteries, you have to replace your original battery now (another $20.00) so now you have already spent $40.00 and you are back at square one. Even if you figure out how to get it to work, you have to figure out how to mount the extra battery. For $65.00, you can get the Seidio 4k battery and backplate and not go through all the hassle.
But, it is my opinion, and if you do try this, I must see it on you tube
how do you plan to fit these in the phone? an extended battery door is probably too small to fit two stock batteries, and how do you plan to make it fit with such a tight top to bottom clearance given that you now have extra length from soldering?
just buy an extra battery and battery charger, keep the spare in your pocket. no added bulk, no potentially messing up both batteries, no blowing anything up!

Lithium batteries have to be carefully charged if they are to low voltage or to high voltage they can explode into fire balls of pain and fury. DO NOT try to charge 2 cells with out a charger designed to charge multi cell batteries (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10473 is one available for fairly cheap) You will need to figure out pinning to get the 3 wires out (other then +/-) to properly charge the batteries.
Once again, DO NOT try to charge them in a normal charger you rig your self, it is incredibly dangerous and you ARE going to burn down your house.
just order the 3500mah battery from fleabay...it's under $10 shipped and comes with the back door. Actually read somewhere that they just pretty much stack and wire two stock batteries together. I just ordered mine today...for the heck of it.

Not to start a flame but it is my understanding lithium batteries cannot be charged while Li- ion batteries can plus hold a charge per density greater then just lithium. Also with the overcharged protection in the baterries, any charge that was going to one battery will hence go to another.once both cell in each battery are full the phone or,smart wall charger will stop charging.. I don't agree with the op idea to try..it will result in a waste of batteries.

Odds are you'll burn your house down. There is a lot more that is needed to safely charge Li-ion batteries than just plugging it in and running power through it.
Do this and use a SBC kernel and let me know what happens! :
I actually have 2 evo 3d batteries soldered together in my phone now and repacked. I've been using for 2 weeks now. I get the best battery life i have ever gotten. I'm a very heavy user. It can last me way over 20 hours with heavy use.
Before this battery I had 2 samsung galaxy s batteries soldered together. They were 1650 mah each. I have been doing this with all my phones for quite some time. You will get better battery life than most of the extended batteries that you can buy out there.

How do you fit them in?

Just buy the cheap extended battery from ebay and use the door from it. Get the one that doesn't have the hump.

This looks like a "Hold my beer and watch this!" redneck moment!

[Q] Experience with 3000mAh BH6X Battery?

I am in search of a new battery and I came across a 3000 mAH battery that doesn't require an extended battery case. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-7v-BH6X-R...cement-For-Motorola-MB860-ME860-/271036164752
http://www.amazon.com/3000mAh-Rechargeable-Battery-Replacement-Motorola/dp/B008VO07AA
From reading, it seems like you have to calibrate the Atrix to understand the new battery through a couple charges and configuration changes; cool. I am wondering if anyone has had experience with THIS battery? Is it legit?

It's the same size at the standard battery
It's double the capacity
It costs $1.16
If it's too good to be true...

haha --- I know... I am less worried about the $$$ spent and more worried about not harming my phone.

Well in e-bay I buy this battery http://www.ebay.com/itm/2430MAH-HIG...844826?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f1e183dda and it was quiet good for one day, after one day it was dead the battery board was dead and I replace it whit old battery board so I don't think it is real.
I think the picture says it all. Not quite sure why someone would even bother considering a battery with such almost offensively unrealistic specs.
To store more current, the battery has to be physically bigger. It's why "D" cell batteries are bigger than "A" cell batteries even though they have the same voltage output.
Think of current as water. Can you fit more water in a bucket if it's the same size as the one you have?

I had bad experience with several extended batteries from ebay. I always prefer to buy an extra regular battery instead of having an extended battery.
