MMS intent - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have two apps installed on my stock, unrooted G2 that should be able to compose an MMS: Lolcats widget from www.icanhascheezburger.com and 'pinpoint'. Both were installed via Android market. When I go to 'share' or 'send' in either app, MMS is not an option. Instead I am offered email, gmail, Facebook, Twitter etc. Pinpoint does offer SMS but I would like to picture message. Any ideas what could be wrong?

[Q] Difference between the email, messaging and gmail apps on Atrix

Hi Folks,
I have been using an iPhone 3G till now and just made the switch to Android. Just received my Atrix today and spent time getting familiar with Android/Motoblur and setting things up.
Now, I am really confused between these three apps
1. Email
2. Messaging
3. Gmail
From the time I've spend playing around, I know that Email and Messaging look pretty much the same, except that messaging also has text messages. So why do we have these two separate apps? Then there is Gmail. If I have a gmail account, should I add it to the Motoblur accounts or set it up with the Gmail app? Why are there so many overlapping apps?
Basically all I want is a single app where I can check all my emails from different accounts just like iPhone's native email app.
Please be easy on me as I am an android newbie Thanks in advance!
- Gmail is Google's gmail app that supports multiple gmail accounts
- Email is Moto's email app that supports different types of email accounts (integrated with MotoBlur)
- Messaging is Moto's text and MMS app

"Messaging" actually integrates texts, GMail, and the MotoBlur Email client. There is also a "Text Messaging" app that just handles texts. If you use the "Messaging" widget, you can even get FB messages on it.
Oops, I stand corrected. Was thinking about the captivate's Messaging.

To answer your other question, if you want to use the Moto "Messaging" with Universal Inbox then all you have to do is go to Accounts and select Google at the bottom and deselect "Sync Email" and then just setup your Gmail through Moto's Email client and you can get all your emails (just once) in the universal inbox. If you use both then you will receive redundant notifications for your Gmail.

[Q] App to log SMS's to Google calendar in ICS?

Does anyone know of any app that logs automatically entire sms' content to google calendar in ICS?
SMS2CAL does not support ICS and the coder is not interested in supporting it or adapting it for it to work wit ICS.
CallTrack does a perfect job logging calls, however it fails to log sms.
Any ideas please??
SMS to Calendar
Hello,
there used to be a superb app, Log2Calendar. Sadly, this is now retired from the market.
Here is the APK that I backed up long ago; I install it on all my androids manually (it actually then prompts a market upgrade on some).
I actually use both CallTrack and Log2Calendar: CallTrack logs to a specific Call-Log calendar created on gmail, Log2Calendar logs sms only to a specific sms-log calendar
There is a Call 2 Calendar but it only shows one calendar in the list, so I did not try it.
Also evaluate SMS backup+
It transforms sms into emails (and if contact has an email address you can reply to that email and will send to that email) and uploads them to gmail in a specific SMS label. It also deals call logs if you use the google procedure to authorize emails.
IMAP upload / emails are much more efficient while researching. Plus you get conversation view, unavailable in the calendar
Cheers!

For your safety root and install LBE Privacy Guard (internet firewall + some permission interactive firewall/prompter) so that non-root apps do not access web if not required/desired.
#androidlost.com / + app
great tracker, don't know about service holder access to data but I guess it is respectful?

[Q] Google calendar issues

When I receive calendar appointments in my gmail, when I press the "Yes" link to accept the appointment, the stock web browser loads google calendar rather than the calendar app. I can't find a way to have the link send me to the calendar app on this phone, where I usually was directed to on my OG Evo. I cleared the app association in the settings, but the "Yes" link still sends me to the stock browser rather than the calendar app. Is this a bug or is there a fix?
Thanks

[Q] SMS + multiple messenger client app?

Something cool about the new-ish facebook messenger app is that you can also use it for your SMS text messaging. Is there an app out there like this that also integrates other messaging clients like Hangouts?
Ideally, I'd like something that has SMS, facebook messenger, and google hangout conversations all in one list, with an icon on each conversation indicating what service it is associated with. Another (maybe better) option would be to have a tab for each service along the top of the interface so you can switch between them and stay organized.
I've looked around and found several multi-client messengers like Trillian or IM+, but none of them seem to do SMS as well.

[Q] Does anyone know how to remove email addresses from the stock Messaging app?

Does anyone know how to remove email addresses from the stock Messaging app? It's showing everyone I ever emailed, even if they're not saved to my Gmail contacts. I'm seeing people I emailed once years ago. I can hide them from my phone contacts, but they still show up in the messaging app. Do I have to use a different app?
