hy,
so i got the HTC Touch Pro and flashed it to Energy Rom "Warhawk" 3.0, and i was very pleased about the speed of my phone. BUT...
the Battery took half a day to get all empty. normaly i can do a whole day with gps, music, wifi, bt, ...
and now i tried different things and i think i got the reason for this hole in the battery.
you have to change, in the tweak software that comes with the new Rom, the File sytem cache, the flie system filter cache and the font cache. turn power saving on and than u do a soft reset.
after this my battery went from 65% to 70%. so within an hour u should see changes and the device doesn't slow down.
i hope this helps
what did you change them to?
i changed them from Large and very large to normal, this is suggested by the ROM developer

Hi forum.
I hope you can help me, as i have a really strange battery problem on my mini pro.
At first when i got it, it would only last for about 8 hours, no matter what i tried, and how mutch i turned off.
No data, only 2G and so on.
Then in october my provider did some network updates, witch resulted in a total network crash for a whole day.
BUT after that day, my phones battery started to last for at least two days, and i was happy.
(The funny thing about that is actually that i don´t even use that providers network, as i live in an area with no connection, so the phone is roamed onto an other providers 2G network allways)
NOW.
I have updated my phone to android 2.1 yesterday, and went to sleep last night with 100% charged phone, i was chocked when it was drained this morning after about 7 hours.
After the update to 2.1 yesterday i turned all off again, no data and only 2G, and so on.
Can someone pleace try to help me explain this behavior of the phone ??
When i look in the section showing what uses battery, right now with 89% left the phone say:
1h9m since charge
45% doing nothing
29% cell standby
27% display showing
(i don´t know the actual english labels, as my phone is danish)
I am really suppriced over this, i have NO clue at all as of what is happening, so i would be really happy to hear something from you.
you can try the app SystemInfo Panel, it can monitor the cpu usage. with the pro version you can see history cpu usage after a while of monitoring.
Found a program that might help you find the culprit http://ziyang.eecs.umich.edu/projects/powertutor/UMLogger-release-signed.apk
Gives extremely detailed usage of battery. Even down to how much the different programs use. Can see if its a specific program or if its a system fault..
I my self went to charging twice per day with 2.1 instead of only once with 1.6
I will look closer, but it looks like timescape is causing this somehow...
Send from my X10, still only with 2.1 *&%# :-/
did you root it?
if so, have you tried turning off and on? (not soft reboot)
I now have 2 days again at least :-D
But my phone is also working as an old gsm phone now. Nothing fancy is turned on.:-S
But i thing it was when i removed the facebook account from timescape the big bat saving was "enabled"...
Now i can try to turn everything on again, one thing at the time, to see what happens...
Send from my X10.
Is it still working ok? I got it less than a week ago and battery has not lasted for more than 8 hours, no matter if I use it a lot or not. I updated to 2.1 the next day after buying it so I am not sure how it behaved in the first day, but it went more than 8 hours without recharging I'm sure. Anyone else having this behaviour? Any ideas to save battery by shutting down SE cpu intensive apps?
I found that the screen is somewhat capeable of brightness higher than needed and it sucks battery faster than chevy chase at a blow-party. To me it seems that the auto brightness also is an issue, so i use a way to control it directly setting the brightness needed myself.
2.1 doesn't have decent memory handling which results in one killing of the wrong apps in an attempt to save battery - this will just eat more battery.
It's a good thing to keep in mind that it will use more resources to reload an app, than leaving it in memory in case you need it and discarding it if memory is required.
On rooted devices it's a real good idea to install an app like "Autokiller Memory Optimizer", which enables you to setup detailed limitations (or choose profiles) that will eliminate the need of automated killers or heavy use of task managers (which can be hard to setup correctly).
And as you mention - hunt down app's that startup in background to update or do timed operations, and turn off any hardware, that you don't really need.

do you use original or castom ROM ?
The 2.1-update1 from SE.

try to boot in to xrecovery and wipe battery status, then charge you evice to full and repeat this step again!
So far i've wiped the batt status at around 40% and recharged fully - i can already feel a major difference. I think this will do the trick - thanks dude
EDIT: the battery stats wipe worked great for me - now it seems more reasonable.

Real nice tip - dont know why but if my device seems to use more power than normally, i charge it to full > do a battery wipe > reboot > and makes sure it's charged to 100%.
Really noticable difference
>X10 mini pro - U20i - 2.0.2.A.0.24

Try this.
Go to Settings> Privacy>and check that Use my Location is disabled.
My battery drained so fast with this option enabled.
good luck
I think u need to put a software to see the process behind, they are somes (like mediascape) that drain ur battery... if u can, remove that kind of application.
The problem is timescape, backupandrestore, and auto-sync.
I've gotten real nice (in comparison) battery life with doing this:
Disable auto-sync (and doo it manually when needed)
Remove the 3 timescape and the backupandrestore apks
Reboot to xRecovery and clear dalvik cache
If you're smart do it when fully charged and clear battery stats too.
You need to do the clear dalvik thing before booting up, when you've removed the apks. The system shouldn't be unable to boot if the dalvik-cache have not been recompiled.
It shouldn't be a desaster if it boots up and fails - just boot up xrec and clear the cache.
>X10 mini pro - U20i - 2.0.2.A.0.24
>root,xrec,jit,link2sd,cus. key + bootanim
Try this:
Set wifi sleep policy to never
settings -> wireless & networks -> wifi settings
press menu -> advanced
and set wifi sleep policy to Never
press menu -> save
This part does need root though:
delete /data/system/batterystats.bin
fully charge your phone and let it full drain
NOTE: it shouldn't be nessesary to disable auto-sync - timescape i know eats juice.

Something strange happened to my phone. One night I installed an app that can turn the phone into sleep mode instead of pressing the button at the uppermost right of it. I still have around 70+% battery by that time. The next morning, I was surprised that my battery is already out. I charge it but was stuck at the cyanogen logo. I removed the battery and tried to open it, this time the animation boot happened twice before finishing. I removed the app but noticed that my battery begun draining much faster than before. Just letting it on idle state will reduce it to 40% in 9 hours. The bootup problem is also present every time I boot the phone - it will get stuck at first at the logo, remove the battery, turn it on again where the animation will happen twice before the phone become usable.
Checking the phone usage, mobile standby and phone idle have the largest usage. I read some threads mentioning something about wakelock or something that prevent the phone from going to sleep. Checking the Spare parts battery history, only two things are present - Running (100%) and Screeon on (5.1%).
Any help or tips to know the real problem? Thanks

this will happen when install every crappy tweak **** - i'm not understand why users have to install extra apps for buttons
to help you something:
wipe your system, not the data - only if it doesnt work after wiping the caches.
than try to boot ... if its doesnt nrmal booting, reinstall the rom and do a full wipe. sometimes apps installing libraries in system.
^
I was thinking of reducing the usage of the hard button so I used it. Will resintallation of the ROM afefct my partition? I have a nandbackup before this problem happened, but I still do not have the partition by that time.
And how do you do it by the way? Just flash again the ROM? Thanks
Edit: Wiping the cache seemed to help. It doesn't stuck at the logo, but the animation still happens twice instead of once. Gonna observe the battery usage. Thanks.
100% running, that means your phone is not in sleep, but only with LCD off. Grab betterbatterystats([email protected]) and check your wakelocks.

Based on the betterbatterystats, the gpslocationprovider is the culprit. But my gps apps are off and are not running any services. Any idea how can I stop it?

I copid a gpa.conf somehere in this forum. I replaced it with the originial and I'm currently observing whether it will return to normal. My gps apps are off, and both wireless and gps sattelites are disabled on my location & security tabs.
I'm planning on doing a restore to at least remove the boot up problem. But my last nandbackup was still before I partitioned my sd card and flashed dark tremor, and configre a2sdgui. If I do the nandrestore, do I have to disable or remove dark tremor and a2sdgui, or remove the partition of my card? Thanks

I has the same gps wakelock even disabling GPS- reboot and the thing is gone
I changed it, but my phone still doesn't sleep. Although this time, the gpslocationprovider is no longer shown with the betterbatterystats. It just states that my phone is awake for around 47 minutes but my screen is just on for around 4 minutes. I've already rebooted several times and wipe the cache but its still like this. Still trying to find other ways.
So I've had cm7.2 on my phone for a couple of months and it's driving me crazy with some of the issues it's been having. The first one is battery life. Back when I had stock blur, I could go all day on my phone and still have 70-80% by the end of the day with moderate usage. With cm7, I'm getting around 50% just from it being idle. One of the reasons I installed a custom rom in the first place was to get better battery life out of my phone. The next issue has to do with wifi and data. A lot of the times I turn on my phone from sleep, it'll take a minute or two to connect to the wifi. Sometimes it won't even do that which is a little frustrating since the phone will try to use a data signal and nothing will happen because it's still trying to connect to wifi. So that ends up in me burning through data with nothing happening. The last thing that's been occuring and is really annoying are the random reboots. My phone usually does it once every two days or sometimes like today, a couple times a day.
Are there any fixes for these? So far I'm finding that stock blur has been way more stable than the roms I've tried out so far. Don't know if it's a issue specific to the atrix or if it's pretty much like that with other phones as well.
wifi issue can be remedied by going to wireless networks>wifi>advanced>and tick the 'always on' box, that should sort you out.
Have you installed the 'bluesleep' fix? it's a zip file so you can install it via clockwordmod (it puts your phone into deep sleep when not being used and should help you with battery usage). You'll also need to install cpu spy which helps with the bluesleep fix.
Random reboots can be caused by lots of things (apps, unstable roms ect). I would reinstall CM7.2 again (without a data wipe so you wont lose anything) and see if that helps. I would however wipe dalvik cache. If it carries on I would do a full system wipe and reinstall the rom of choice again.
How do I get the bluesleep fix? I remember that being a problem on cm10, but I never knew it was an issue for cm7.2
Alright and what does the dalvik cache store exactly?
I've put the bluesleep zip I use on here for you (i'm on 7.2) . Also, a link for CPU Spy https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bvalosek.cpuspy&hl=en
Dalvik cache... 'dalvik cache is a program cache area for the program dalvik. Dalvik is a java based virtual machine that is the bases for running your programs (the ones that have the .apk extension). In order to make access times faster (because there's not JIT (just in time) compiler installed by default), the dalvik-cache is the result of dalvik doing a optimization of the running program. Sounds confusing. It's similar to the prefetch files in Windows.'
I would wipe dalvik and see if it helps the reboot issues you are having.:good:
Gotcha. I'll try it out and let you know how it works out.
So I've been using the phone for a couple weeks with the fix and for the first week or two the battery life improved and then for some reason over the past week or so became bad again. I checked my battery stats and it may be because of the wi-fi, but I'm not sure.

Is bluesleep still working? Sometimes you just need to re-flash it. Also, have a look around on here for wifi issues - there's been a few questions about disabling/deleting wifi so you might find some help. And!! try wiping Dalvik (again!) And!! think about reflashing rom ect as sometimes a clean install will help.:good:
Hi all,
My S3 is lately draining alot of power somehow and it comes from a system process as battery manager shows even tho a game is supposed to drain more.
the things that drains in that system process are Alarm Manager and AppManager-Launcher, had something to do with winlock. the strange thing is also when my battery is on 15% as the android OS says, then i plug in the recharge cable but it will hardly recharge or even lose power. when i did shut down the phone (when the OS said it was 15%), the battery that you will see when your phone is off said it was on 50% or more so i turned on my phone and now the OS says it was 58% instead of the 15% before the shutdown.
those things are truly weird so i dont know if its the battery or the OS.
the phone is rooted but had not that problem, but it started later on.
there is also an app called S Suggest and i disabled it but it is still running and whenever i stop it, it starts back up even tho i disabled it.
the battery drain starts when i play the game War and Order, but the battery statistics shows that that game is not consuming much battery but the android systemprocess is. that process is twice in the battery manager.
any idea's on how to fix this thing?
If you have any task managing/app managing, turn it/them off.
If you have disabled any apps, restore them.
If you have low internal storage space, make space (500mb minimum, preferably 1gb).
If you run a custom kernel, disable any swap files/partitions.
Beamed in by telepathy.
i re calibrated the battery and now the android system proces is gone from 60% to 7% so that part is fixed but the battery drain problem is not.
now the game stands on 54% of the battery so that would be a normal thing i guess.
and somehow that program S Suggest isnt running also which is a good thing btw.
my free phone space is now 9,48 GB.
i assume when u rooted a device it is a custom rom? i know little about android so how do i check for those swap files/ partitions?
btw the weird thing with the battery % (how the OS shows it, and how the phone shows it after you turned it off) is still active.
i saw in another post that if you reflash the root file, it might fix the battery % problem. is it safe to overwrite the current root file with the same root file that i used to root my phone?
You have a rooted stock rom, so long as you dont have a custom kernel you wont have swap files or partitions. Imo the best setup.
Before you start flashing stuff you might want to try an ad blocker like adfree or adguard and turn off locations.
Beamed in by telepathy.
i did root my phone via Odin, via download mode on my phone and it worked then. i did have a app called root booster and i used that app to boost the speed of my phone but since that went laggy i changed the settings back to custom. is that the original custom or a program made custom? when my phone was rooted i changed back to factory settings due to the lag, after that the battery % problem started but the lag was fixed, so i think it might have to do with the factory reset and that the reset overwrite some of the files that were patched by the rooting process and now is not communication very well. but i am almost 100% convinced that the factory reset had something to do with it because only after that the problem of the battery % started.
Hi,
I am very new to this and I created this account in the hope that someone will be able to help me. Please be gentle with me and explain things like I'm five.
I recently installed CM13 on to my Galaxy S2 and the battery drain is ridiculous. For example, it was fully charged fifty minutes ago but it is now at 89% - and for a majority of that time it has been in aeroplane mode. I am using Wi-Fi only when not in aeroplane mode and while this hastens the battery drain, it's not by a huge percentage.
My phones stats are:
Android version: 6.0.1
CyanogenMod version: 13.0-20160404-NIGHTLY-i9100
Kernel version: 3.0.101-CM-g3419d27 [email protected] #1
GAPPS: BaNkS-Dynamic-GApps-6.x.x-10-20-15
TWRP: IsoRec_TWRP_3.0.0-0_i9100
Things I have tried:
Using privacy guard to stop Google Play Store and various other apps from starting on boot and staying awake.
Setting the screen brightness level to the absolute minimum.
Setting the screen to go to sleep after 15 seconds inactivity.
Turning off Wi-Fi scanning.
Setting my e-mail pushes to one hour instead of instantly (which I especially hate).
Turning off voice recognition.
Setting location mode to battery saving.
Installing Advanced Task Killer, Greenify and/or DU Battery Saver.
Recalibrating the (new) battery - manually and with the battery calibration app.
Resetting network settings.
And various other things that I can't recall right now.
I recently installed GSam Battery Monitor, but it's not telling me much at the moment - just that the screen uses 64% and apps use 36%, and the average battery life per complete charge is at 7h 13m (3h 20min active).
If I go to settings > battery, it's telling me even less - the screen has used 4%, CyanogenMod System uses 2%.
I've read on other forums that installing a different kernel will improve it, but others have said it won't make any difference. Either way, I have no idea where to get the kernel from. I'm starting to think I must have installed something very wrong when the battery life on my phone won't even last eight hours. I have spent the past couple of days browsing to try and find out what I can do, and I think I'm about to go cross eyed.
Can anyone please help? Please remember that I am a complete newcomer to this so I may be asking some really stupid questions.
Thank you in advance for any help offered. I really don't want to go back to my 3GS now.
Hey,
I'm also on CM13 and also have battery drain, since Android 6 is really heavy, but definitely not as bad as you.
One thing you else could try is the app "BetterBatteryStats" which is available for free on XDA - just search. In my opinion it's the best available app for battery statistics. You can check out which app is keeping your device awake at standby.
But in your case, as you already tried a lot, I recommend to simply do a clean install of CM again. Really looks like there were little errors while flashing, or the Rom's zip file got somehow corrupted at the download. So download ROM and Gapps again, go to recovery, wipe /system, /data, /cache and reflash ROM and Gapps. Perhaps use another Gapps package than you used before. Also consider choosing the littlest available one. Maybe the issue will be gone then. Really hope this helps somehow.
Was I gentle enough?
