hey just wondering can you change the headphones on these or no. Does it work with a modded rom. Does it display the incoming calls number thank you
DO NOT purchase a Lubix product. They do not work w/ Android.
(Specifically, they don't have SCO/ "phone audio" support in Cupcake+, and the MP3 controls only work with Windows Media Player, and hence not w/ Android.)

whats a lubix product the nokia bluetooth headphones
I've had the Sony DR-BT50 for a year now. They have amazing sound quality and have a mic for phone calls. All the controls are on the right speaker. I usually only have to charge them after 15 hours of listening.
but will the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 work with the cyanogen experimental roms
yes they work. i was on cyanogen 4.0.4 but i need exchange so i moved to a rogers rom.
they have mp3 controls (next and previous and volume buttons) also it displays the caller number not caller id. (i know that sucks, was wishing for caller id also). i have them for almost an year and the battery lasts about 6-8 hours listening to music.
Been using a jabra BT8010 for a few months now with out issue on the xROM roms.
If your after a tiny sleek device this isn't it but I've not found it any where near as bad as alot of reviews made it out to be.
in normal use it is just a single ear device, but if you want stereo it comes with the aditional ear piece that plugs into the back of the main unit.
Control wise i found it quite intuative, single click paly/pause, double click skip track, press'n hold stop, nice and easy. though its also able to swap between phone headset mode and music contol mode at the click of a button. It'll also pair to 2 devices simultaniously and let you swap which is the primary to be controlled on the fly.
it has an oled display that will show the calling number, but it also has a 30 number onboard phone book, so if you have a callers name and number stored on the headset (programed over usb) it will display the name instead. not propper caller ID but its a start.
oh and it can also vibrate, which is just a bit odd when its hanging off the side of your head, but it does mean you can leave the phone in you bag (lets face it the G1 is a bit bulky once you get extended batteries etc on it) and just have the headset in your pocket and be able to tell if its ringing and see whose calling before you answer it without even seeing your phone.
only thing i've been able to complain about at all is the size, but the features out weigh that minor issue
bluetooth stereo headsets
I use the Moto Rokr SD-9's and they are awesome, has mic for calls and all controls on the headphones for volume and track skip and such

Hi All
I have been told by o2 that the following is a feature:
When my XDA has an incoming call, with the headset plugged in, the 'ringing' only sounds from the headset instead of the speaker.
Is this a feature or a fault?
Comments gratefully received
I'd say bit of both.
I've had my headset plugged in and heard the ringtone through both the headset AND the unit itself, but perhaps there's a way of making it so that the headset is the only audio (perhaps plugging the jack in whilst on silent then turning it back up?).
I've definitely had the headset ring out whilst the jack is connected.
A
Feature or fault, that's a hard one to call!
I would say it working as designed, since the headset will always override the speaker in any fashion.
I've never heard of this. All the US units ring in BOTH if the headset is plugged in. Unfortunately, message notification and alarms sound only in the headset though.
Hi,
As far as I have found out the behavior is not consistent. My device sometimes only ring in the headset and sometimes ring both. I have found out if you plug in the headset and connect via USB cable to the PC it will always ring both in headset and speaker. This is true even after you have unplugged the USB. Seems to me some flag I set during USB connation that enables this... ?!
For notifications - this only works via the headset... for me at least.
I find this annoying - the SmartPhone works as it should in regards to this.
I run 4.00.05 baked at this site... keep up the good work !
I had this similiar feature/bug experience too.
My XDA rings both on the headset and its speaker. One day, at some point, I managed to put it into a strange state. I started playing an mp3 with the windows media player (WMP) without the handset, it played thru its speaker (that's correct). And then I plug in the headset, mp3 came out from only the headset (that's correct too).
After that, I pressed "stop" the mp3 in the WMP, and then "play" again, mp3 came out thru both the headset and its speaker.
I don't seem to be able to reproduce this "feature" anymore now. Well, of course, that's after a reboot a while later.
In fact, now I've got a question then. Does that mean the on/off of the speaker can be controlled in software? AFAIK, like the iPAQ, it's controlled in the hardware, that means if you plug in a headphone, the speaker of the unit will be off.
Does that mean the on/off of the speaker can be controlled in software?

Yes, evidenced by the phone behaviour. Most devices use a simple contact in the headset connector to disengage the speaker, but obviously not the PE.

I would rather ask it to be a user defined option. I believe the current setup (both ringing) came after noticing that you can simply forget your headset plugged in so you may miss some calls.
But in some situations (ex: meetings) I would like to keep the headset plugged in and get the rining only through it.
I am looking for a stereo bluetooth headset and was wondering if members of this forum have any suggestions of what to buy.
I'm going to go with an iTech r35 clip. It seems to have the best support for a range of profiles, and also allows connection of your own preferred headphones.
It seems reports of it working with tytn are mixed, but this appears to be because the tytn BT stack is not the best.
I'll give it a go, but I don't hold out 100% confidence in any BT stereo headsets unless something is done to address the weaknesses of the underlying device.
good price for the itech clip at the orange shop £29.99 (includes a free dongle to allow you to use the headset with other stereo equipment via a 3.5mm jack.)
let us know how you get on as I think it's ok.
pros
1 quality acceptable for me using my own ear buds
2 A2DP works well so far
cons
1 no car charger included
2 hands free reconnects fine when coming back into range but the stereo wireless does not and you have to reconnect manually
3. I'm using the headset through my car stereo aux line. works great for playing music and taking calls except people ringing in hear an echo (themselves through the car speakers about .5seconds after they speak). I thought it was one of those things but it doesn't do it using my w800i. - I really need to resolve this one :?:
I havent heard any complaints about the S38 I think that from what comments I have heard would be the better choice
Im using the s38 it works geat!
Hey,
I've been looking at buying the r35 and was wondering whether or not the clip has a built in microphon on it or not? Becuase I want to be able to use my own headphones and still answer an incoming call. Thanks
I have chosen to go with the Jabra BT500v so far so good quite comfy, only problem is that it won't let me use it to do voice commands on the Vario 2 so some hacks are needed I think.

+1 ?
I use the i-Clip R35 and it works great with the Hermes, using my own headphones and the clip picks up my voice really well even if it's in my shirt pocket. The forward/backwards button works with WM but not the play/pause button, still trying to get these to work with TCPMP.
My R35 clip arrived today. I bought from here and paid circa £64 for two delivered to the UK.
So far it's working well (I made the registry alterations to improve the stereo - as suggested in the wiki). In WM the pause/play button doesn't seem to work (but the volume up/down and track back/forward do). It flawlessly switches to headset whenever a call comes in.
The only thing I don't like is a device issue - having to keep the device on (ie all buttons and the screen active) when playing mp3's.
I'll keep track of how I get on, and report back on a long term test.
so pressing the down button on the joypad in media player to switch the screen off (but keep the music playing) stops the iTech from working ?

If you are having problems with accidentally hitting the buttons etc.. when the phone is in your pocket, have you tried enabling the "Lock" in the settings menu to activate after 0 minutes.
This is what I used to do when I was listening to Tomtom voice commands on my motorbike (used to have the phone in my pocket and didn't want to accidentally phone someone, activate other programs etc..)
Solved the problem for me

I wasn't aware that you could do that. Does it also disable the buttons? I find I get all sorts of presses as I slide it in and out of my bag. I'll have a play, and see what happens.

My first pda phone, so these tips - even the most simple - are extremely useful.
Hello everyone,
I was using a O2 Zinc on WM6 platform before the current Nike. With Zinc, i was able to listen to mp3 songs played to my SE HBH610 one-sided headset but not now on Nike. I noticed though that the Bluetooth stack on these 2 sets are different while on Zinc, you have an option to "Enable Audio". Anyone, can help? Thank you in advance.
Alano
what settings you have try?
There is nothing much to try. Just either to delete this headset or set it as "handsfree".
There should also a option for bluetooth audio if the phone recognize a2dp on a headset.
my car-hifi has handsfee and bluetooth audio and i can check both.
A2DP for music works like a charm for me...
i dunno about the settings my bluetooth headset when activated automaticly takes over from the phone speaker when im using media programs, though not with all programs. im using an Jabra bt3030 headset myself.
There doesn't seem to be an option perse for A2DP, anyone got an idea?
I have managed to downloaded a 3-party software that allows me to hear on the same headset audio. This show that there is nothing wrong with the capability of the headset but the software of the bluetooth in Nike. As far as I remember, on WM6 of Zinc, it is using Broadcom BT stack. Anyone has ideas where to get this to replace the MS stack on Nike?
Weird - I recently bought a SE HBH-DS220 headset and it works fine together with both Windows Media player and the inbuilt HTC media player.
Nike is A2DP compatible as said in the phone documentation. I use to listen music wirth my motorola S9. When I pair the S9, audio is automatiquely routed to it.
I have a motorola S9 stereo Bt too and everything works fine, even games and tcmcp work without problems.
I use this Blue Tooth Headset. Reason ... no other Product use 24bit D/A Converter! Not much Headset, can match with this product!!! and ... i am a fan of old designes ... if you have a sunglasses ... you look like the first Napster Logo LLOOOLL

The S9s are a great set, but don't ever go running/cycling or get sweaty with them - they totally fail - which is seriously lousy for something thats "designed" for such usage.
I use the Motorola SoundPilot S705, which i brilliant.
I have an outtake for 3,5 mm. jack, and FM radio. When I turn the SoundPilot on, it immediately paires up with my phone.

Thanks
Why not get some well known branded headsets like motorola s9, that comes close to the price range as well...
i dont like the headsets. i want something that can clip on my shirt, control the hd media player and plug any headphones into.

Calypso SP
Hi,
I first had the Motorola S9 which were nice, but too much bass, and after some time they completely fell apart
Now I bought the Calypso SP and they work just fine. They support Bluetooth 2.0, so you don't have those annoying pauses if the phone is not exactly behind your back, and the sound is great.
They look a bit like Princess Leia's haircut though

I've got sony ericsson HBH-DS970 and they're really excellent.
They will control next/previous track etc in the built in touchflo player but I cannot find out how to make them control Coreplayer instead. I hate the built in player and use Coreplayer for almost everything, but I've had to stop using these headphones because I can't control the tracks with them sadly. Really gutted about it.
I've got Sennheiser CX500s which sound great, but the track control & untangled wires of the bluetooth set was brilliant, and the sound was very good too.
Anyone know a decent bluetooth earbud set that works to control Coreplayer? Or a way I can fix this problem as it really sucks.
do the controls work with windows media player?
My Motorola H17 pairs and connects to my TP but there's no sound when playing music or audio. It works fine with my Optimus V phone using the BT-Mono app to redirect the sound out to the headset. I've tried BT-Mono which appears to function correctly (no errors etc), but when I switch it over no audio through the H17 although the tablet speaker is muted as it should be.
Is there something else I need to do on the Prime to switch the sound over, is it an incompatibility issue with this headset, or is there another app that would work? I've searched a bit and apparently others with BT headsets get them working with TP, but also found very little on the subject. Perhaps it's the lack of phone functionality with some headsets? I'd try another brand/model if I was sure it would work.
Thanks for any help.
Get audio manager from the market, there is both pay and free, pay attention to incall volume. It worked for me, seems incall volume is defaulted to zero at least in my case.
