I have a problem using my proxy settings:
I go to 'edit my proxy server' and I put the proxy server (as always, it was running nice...) and I go to advanced, click on HTTP server (172.xx.xx.x:8080) and I enter my net user and my pass (I talk about work connection).
Everything looks nice but when I close the connection settings tab I open for second time the same tabs and it appears a different pass!!!!! My pass have 6 letters and it appears ************ 12 characters!!!!!! and, of course, the net doesn't run as ever......
WHY!!!!????? It was running for 2 years!
I thought maybe it could be a problem after update my ROM, but I returned to my old ROM and it continues......mmmmmmm.....I'm lost
P.D. I open Opera and I put my net name & pass and I surf normally...but to update weather and mail (for example) is impossible...

I don't use proxy myself but you have flashed back to old rom and it don't work you could try the Nvid recovery ROM as this would totally restore your device back to standard ,(you would have to hard spl again) but all drivers settings and such get restored to standard

I have sx56 att upgraded wm2003.
I have taken services for gpras and tried to setup in my sx56.
following are the details of gprs settings that my mobile career provided me.

1. start -> setting -> connection -> tap-connection.
2. under internet setting .... choose "my work network " -> add new modem.
3. tap "general" and connection setting name as "XXXXXXXX"
4. enter connection name as "XXXXXXXX"
5. select "cellular line gprs".
6. by tapping next --- given APN "XXXXXXXXX".
7. user name and password keep blank and tap finish.
8. again go to connection -> manage existing connection -> select proxy setting
9. tap on both the block and go to 'advance' ... in first window write URL and and in WAP setting enter "xx.xx.x.xxx" - 9201. -> tap ok.
10. from the desktop -- tap coverage tower and connect using "XXXXXX" connection.

ok all the above setpes are done by me and I am able to establsih connection.
I have also checked by command prompt and checked ipconfig details.
I found all assigned ip and dns in it.
the problem is I am not able to open any site in IE browser and page processing shows loading.
can anybody tell me what can be the problem.

I have similar problem
I just unlocked my ATT phone using the Wizard
WorKs flawlessly except the Calendar and dTree both end up in German
Is there any fix
The other problem is GPRS
Gprs connects to provider the problem is I am not able to open any site in IE browser and page processing shows "The page you are looking for cannot be found"
can anybody tell me what can be the problem.

I just unlock my phone using the xda-developers serv 1.2exe and after that use a upgrade rom and radio from siemens to wm2003
my radio is a.33.02 and the rom version is a.20.09 ENG
and is working beautifull

being given a hermes but it is AT&T branded.... it will obviously come without sim and I need to unlock it so can be used on TMO..... will I still be able to do this by connecting it by usb and using the v3a unlocker? Also if there is anything else I should no that I may have missed roaming the threads please let me know.... I currently have an excalibur so am pretty familiar with modifying things.

you should be able to unless the unlocker states otherwise..
the phone is fully functional (bar the phone/texting) without a simcard as its a PDA / Phone

Ok just making sure... also I could not find USA tmobile settings for once it is unlocked to get everyhting working right. I know there is special settings for the excalibur to get MMS and sms working properly so I would assume that hermes would be the same.
I found the keyboard fixes as mine is an 8525(cingular) but I want everything to work right.... If I missed it just link where I need to go for US tmo setup.
I dont mind doing the reading... THANKS!!!
PS..... Obviously I will be changing ROMS too

Here are the steps and settings:
Step 1. Setup GPRS connection for T-Mobile network:
Start > Settings > Connections (tab) > Connections > Advanced (tab) > Select Networks > New...
Enter the name for the profile (e.g. T-Mobile), then go to "Modem" tab and click "New...", enter name for the connection (e.g. T-Mobile Data), choose "Cellular line (GPRS, 3G)" in the drop-down menu, click "Next", the access point should be "wap.voicestream.com", click "Next", leave all fields blank on this page, click "Finish". Now go to "Proxy Settings" tab and select "This network connects to the Internet".
Click "Ok" all the way out.
Step 2. Setup MMS:
Start > Programs > Messaging > Menu > Tools > Options... > MMS > Servers (tab) > New
Server name: (you name it)
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port Number: 8080
Server address: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Connect via: (the connection you created in step 1)
Sending size limitation: 300K
WAP Version: WAP 2.0
Click "Ok", set this new entry as default (with a red arrow on the icon).
check out HTC Network Wizard (comes precooked into most roms now..) if not then schaps operator setup

Some dude did something like this but with cricket its from rootzwiki i don't know if it help but i hope it does i never had the patience to read it good luck!

First off if the phone hasnt been activated yet or you have to clear all settings and you get stuck at the activation screen... REMOVE THE BATTERY AND USB PUT THE BATTERY BACK IN AND TOUCH THE DROID AS SOON AS YOU SEE IT! this will get you past the activation screen.

Put your phone in PC mode,and shutdown
DO NOT PRESS POWER, Plug in USB to turn it back on.
Install HW Virtual Serial Port on your Computer.

On security tab send SPC 000000 (you should get a message saying the spc is correct and phone is now unlocked)
Go to tab labeled "Other" and write prl (this is where the PRL you downloaded comes into play) Select it from the location in which you downloaded it.
Goto "Memory" tab and click write under NV items, find the downloaded NV items you got from

(Your [email protected]). box opens telling you to save them as .txt and select them with cdma workshop2.7.
It should now say, 12 NV items were successfully written to phone.

LETS GET ROOTED!!!!
Have Droid Explorer Installed on your computer
Have your phone connected USB and in PCmode
Open Droid Explorer and Connect to your phone
Click the little Icon that looks like a box with a cd in front of it,
It should open a Install Window
Click install and install Gingerbreak (I used Gingerbreak Version 1.20)
Now on your phone go into your apps menu and run gingerbreak
CLICK ROOT! the phone should then run gingerbreak and restart.
You should now be rooted!
NOW TO GET INTERNET AND APPS WORKING!!!
if you have QPST open it on the com port 10 read your settings. under MIP mip2,,PPP(Um,AN...etc it should say (your [email protected] )etc in the right columns....in the bottom box password may need to be written to phone, just type in cricket for both Um and An, cricket is the password.
Also select mobile ip+simple ip under MiP tab
select write to phone.
Phone will now restart.
After the phone has started up Go to wireless setting in settings and connect to wifi, Open the Market and install GreenK45free or Buy Pro.
Disable your Wifi now so that 3g can come back on. once you see 3g at the top open greenK45 and click Enable. (MAKE SURE YOU ALLOW GREENK45 ROOT ACCESS)
also when it restarts allow U2nl Proxy access to root) Just incase you dont know the Superuser will pop up asking you to allow or deny, click Allow!
You should now have Internet and Apps should have Connection.
As for MMS i havent found a way to get this working correctly yet on the Droid X2 but i will write a update to this tutorial when i do, AS OF NOW, INTERNET,APPS,TALK,AND TEXT WORK. MMS or PICTURE MESSAGING ARE BROKEN!

.Go to Market and download Apn Backup and Restore
.Open and Delete all APNS
.RESTART PHONE, I CANT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS!
.Go to market and Download and install Anycut, Open it and choose Activity,Scroll down and select APNs create the shortcut then exit
.click the apns shortcut you just made, it should be on your main screen
.hit menu button and select New APN
.Enter these settings into your apn

FLashing to Cricket is NOT the same as changing the MEID on a Phone.
Besides Modifying Mobile Electronic Identification Numbers is Ilegal in the US.
FYI. IT IS POSSIBLE but very hard, specially on Motorola devices.

Hey guy/gals, I've got a nifty little trick here for you. Now, the trick I'm about to explain is a rather low-level trick that most of you may know, but its for those who don't or are new. So, at the school i attend, they have wifi throughout the school. They make the password something simple like "internet", and then wait for someone to figure it out and tell everyone. Once everyone start joining the network and using it, they just go through and blacklist (ban) the MAC addresses that aren't pre-approved. This was a huge mistake on their part. So here is a method that allows you to spoof your MAC (ghosting) address and regain access to the network.
Method 1: Go to the market and download 2 apps, "BusyBox" and "MAC Spoofer (changer)". Install BusyBox and run it to give it SU permissions. Then run MAC Spoofer and give it permissions. Turn on your wifi and try to connect to the desired network. If you are blacklisted, it will just loop over and over trying to connect. Don't stop it from looping. Press the home button and then open MAC Spoofer. Now, when you run MAC Spoofer there will be a black box in the center of the screen and it should say ">CHECKING FOR ROOT PERMISSION AND WIFI FILE: OK!" then on the next line it will show your original MAC address and your current one. In the entry box between the black box and the spoof button, you can enter your desired address and press "Spoof my MAC". It will then say ">ATTEMPTING TO MODIFY MAC ADDRESS:" and on the next 2 lines it will show your original and current MAC. On the last line it should say "**SUCCESS** MAC OF INTERFACE wlan0 CHANGED TO: (Whatever you chose)". Now you can exit the app and go back to your wifi network selection. Select the network you were trying to join and it should connect.

Note: Your MAC will reset to the original MAC when you turn off your wifi or if your reboot your phone.

Hello there guys.
So my problem is that I cannot setup a Proxy server on my Android properly, when I'm trying to use it I just get "ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED" error in the browser.
I tried 2 programs (by the same author) - Servers Ultimate and Proxy Server.
With SU for example I created a simple "proxy server", obtained the ip/port from the "connection info" and was trying to connect through it, with no success...
I tried this on two different phones. One is Samsung A3 2016, second is something old with Android 3+ version.
Can someone point me to the right direction? I would be very thankful.
Also to mention, I'm trying to perform this with 3G connection and not Wi-Fi. Does this interfere somehow?
I just realised in the Status tab of a created instance it says:
"Public Connectable - No". Even with Wi-Fi. I asked one friend to perform this on Meizu and he got success with SOCKS server/Wi-Fi setup. Hmm.
What is the solution to this issue. I'm also facing the same over 3G network.
