RiDATA Lightning Series 16GB Micro SDHC (MicroSD) - G1 Accessories

Does anyone have any experience with Ridata cards? I've use alot of their CD and DVD media and have been very satisfied, price on the card is good..
Just wondering, if nobody has any bad experiences I think I'll order.

Cons: I got one, worked just fine for 3 week. Of course, all info (GPS maps, pictures, music) was lost. The second one I ordered, worked for 3 days.
I just trashed 100 bucks, plus Garmin maps, music, etc. Get a SanDisk, a little expensive but works "for ever".

Yeah, I saw that, but I rarely trust reviews on sites like that. too many noobs not knowing whats going on. I was hoping to hear from someone who's got some knowledge about who makes the cards for ridata and or from a respected member that owns one.

well if you dont trust reviews on websites then y are you looking for reviews here? the same ppl here are likely to be the same people reviewing things on newegg.
i know i post reviews for every product i buy from newegg because i like to do lots of research on products i buy and use reviews from average joes who didnt get the product free so they would give a good review regardless.

Thats way too expensive i would say, first of all.
Go to Target, get the Transcend 16GB, its like $45...the 8GB is like $30....I havent had any problems with this brand since i switched after having 3 failures on SanDisk's.
They are CLASS 6.

[Q] Which MicroSd Card?

Hello,
I want a new MicroSd HC Card for my Hero.
After doing some research on the internet, I am confused...
Some people say, that it is senseless to buy an expensive class 6 or 8 card for the phone, because it can not handle the extra speed a card with a higher class has.
Currently I own a Toshiba Class 6 8gb Card,
but this one has not enough space.
I thought about buying 16 or 32gb.
Do you have any recommends for me?
150 views but no one can answer???
poor!
I bought a 16GB micro SD card from play.com - their own make I think. It only cost £15.49 including delivery. It is working fine for me - I use it for sat nav and music mainly and have had no problems
I do prefer Kingston's SD cards. Never had any problems at all with them, and they seems to work pretty good, and fast.
i bought 16gb class 6 and it works perfect. i can load anything i want; mp3, videos, photos...you can buy without any doubt

Maybe because not every person in this world is able to go every day to his computer or because the answers weren't satisfied enough??
I actually asked for one product I should buy and not just: Buy a 16gb class 6

16 GB micro sd Class 10 @ Frys - $27

Just got one delivered today...doesn't quite seem like a true class 10 speed, but way better than the class 2 I'd been using
http://www.frys.com/product/6427462?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
**EDIT - Price Increased 1/7 to $32...still not bad at all**
Decent price. Thanks I'll check it out.

Hey if someone would like to clue me in on how to test the r/w speed on the micro sd card, I'd be happy to give some info on this class 10 card.
It shows as being $32.99 + $1.99 shipping on their website. It's still a great price if it really is a class 10 card but thought I'd clarify the price.

Got this as well right around Christmas time... Didn't need it but couldn't resist the price. So far so good.
I too would love to know how to test read/write to see hoe it compares.

What about transferring a movie over to the SD card and looking at the megabytes per second speed???? Do the same test on the class 2 with the same movie and compare.
FYI: For people in Canada, Newegg.ca has the same card for sale...16GB Class 10
I bought one and am using it in my phone -- and it seems fast enough.
I've also partitioned it for swap -- the rest for MP3s -- but anyhow...
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820161405
It's CA$28.99 + $9.99 S+H
Given the current exchange rate, Fry's is a better deal -- but at least it doesn't have to cross the border (ergo, no duty)

What is considered a good price for a 32gb sd card?

Just wanted to know your guys opinion on the following sd card, is it a good deal?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=3#scrollFullInfo
let me know!
That is a class 4 MicroSD card. For that speed, that is a good price.

Got mine on Amazon for a little less (real little) and free shipping ( http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-32GB-...JYCY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325739855&sr=8-1 ).
The SanDisk Class 4 was the go-to card for the NC (there's a chart floating around about r/w speed for different classes, sizes, and brands. Anything above a Class 4 is not recommended for this device (IMO) -- due to the performance-to-dollar ratio of the higher priced cards.
A little more then a dollar a gig... I'd say it's good

My comment was in reference to the cost/benefit of the steep performance vs. cost slope of investing in higher class cards.
My friend and I bought a Class 10 32 gig for only $39. I personally do not like Sandisk as a brand and was pleased to not buy their product, but that is just my taste.
Class 10 32gig that was rated well cost me about $50.

yea the one you linked to has sales tax which puts it like 20 cents below the price of newegg lol thanks for your opinion though
EDIT: oops, forgot to actually check and it doesn't have any sales tax! wow i actually just might get it from amazon then, even if it might take a bit longer... newegg(4-7 business days) vs amazon (5-8 business days) lol...
EDIT2: the link you provided, the pic of the card doesn't say what class it is and apparently there is a "newer" model here: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micro...M-032G/dp/B004G60AD6/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
surprisingly enough, its actually cheaper than the one you provided by like 20 cents after shipping and tax are calculated... yea the "newer" one needs shipping, but still no tax which is good...
You don't have Amazon prime? They have a program called Amazon mom that gives you free prime 2 day shipping for a few months. Google it and sign up.

I spent 59.99 for a 32gb uhs-I sdcard from newegg. Haven't got it yet, but I have high expectations for it. For 60 bucks, it should do headstands!

Don't you think the onboard flash controller would be a limiting factor in the performance of that card? If a Class 4/6's performance on the Nook Tablet is near equal to the performance of a Class 10 on the Nook Tablet then wouldn't you think that the top end performance of the onboard flash controller is 6MB/s?
Just saying, a faster card may not be better, no matter how fast, or how much it cost if the onboard technology simply can't keep up it'll just work like a slower card.
Look at Micro Center's prices. They are a good gauge. Be careful buying ones off ebay, there are folks selling counterfeit ones.

I like to think that I'm thinking ahead. these were designed specifically with tablets and phones in mind. Right now I'm running a class 6 8gb I bought for my G1 originally. My phone is a shift, and I have a nook tablet in the way also. Once the tablet is fully and completely rooted and running cm9, it will be my primary android device for my work. The 8gb class 6 will go back to being my phones storage. As a side note, I have a 16gb class 4 card also. I could clearly see a difference running it. My phone would choke and sometimes corrupt the images when transferring numerous pictures at once via USB cable to my PC. Never had this problem before or after with the 8gb c6 card.
And, if nothing else ... I spent 30 bucks for a cool ass blue stripe! Lol.

I have thoroughly tested the class 4 sd card from transcend sold by Newegg. They work with everything I have put the NT through and work very well with playing video from SD. Work very well with Acclaim 1.4.1 revert to 1.4.0 I just shot a video of this and the new SD card root process.

witch micro sd card is better kingston or pny??? i been reading about both and they seen to be both good..
I've never owned either one, I always buy sandisk. A little more money but I've never had any problems. That probably doesn't answer your question at all, just wanted to give some input.

You made the right choice there my friend. I swear by two SD card companies – PNY and Sandisk. Being a professional photographer as a side job, these are the only two I will ever put in my cameras, taken thousands of pictures on a DSLR shooting 10 shots per second in full RAW imaging and not once have I ever had one crash on me. My camera has always had a PNY in it from day one. My 3D has always had a class 10 PNY in it from day one. PNY is less expensive and unlike some SD manufacturers they don’t overrate their products. They rate them exactly what they are. Sandisk sometimes underrates theirs but either way with both of them the quality and speeds have always been exactly what they should be. I have had one Sandisk card crash on me since I have been using them, but any product can be defective that is just the reality of manufacturing.
That being said, I think sandisk cards are a little over priced. PNY has been in the game for just as long and in my experience has been just as reliable in the quality and just as fast as any sandisk card I have used and for a much better price.
I picked up a 32 GB class 10 PNY microSD for my 3D for about 60 bucks from Fry’s… that same card, with a sandisk name on it would have been in the 100+ range easily. Too much money if you ask me.
Like I said, you made the right choice.

Black Friday presale deal 32gb micro sd $17

Just came across this Amazon deal for a 32gb transcend micro sd card for $17. It's a class 10 rated at 45MB per second which is decent for our Xperia Z Ultra.
LINK
Interesting. It's "Transcend" though, and i haven't had any good experiences with them. It's really cheap though, but there's a good reason for that
Tip: Don't store important documents on it.
Before someone comes in here and says i'm full of piss, i'm not saying that it'll explode in your face or anthing like that. It might work fine for you, but i don't trust them. I've had problems with them before, and the result is inaccessible data. I would rather invest in a "slightly" more expensive card from SanDisk or Samsung. They aren't bulletproof either though, but they are more reliable.
It's definitely better than SanDisk though. I had a 64gb SanDisk Ultra which failed after a couple of months.

yeah agreed. I'm on my second 64Gb ultra from SanDisk. This one seems fine though, have had it for 6 months now... They admitted via email that they had issues with the DIE process in their 64gb memory. They have rectified it and its all good now. (year right)
But nice to know they admit when there was a problem and a lifetime warantee is all good to me.
(i have 4 3TB drives with backupdata on... so my externals can fail as long as i get a new one for free)
