Hello guys,
The audio of my HTC tytn is distorted, cant play anymore sounds on my HTC. Can't play my ringtones and my mp3's.. I'm thinking I will re-flash the operating system of my device.. having this version wm 6.1 CE OS 5.2.20755 (build 20755.1.4.0 PV DVH)
Thanks...
Canm you play ANY sounds? It may be hardware and not software.
The speaker connection would be the first thing I'd check before flashing my Hermes as its a mongrel to put everything back the way I like it. Look for the HTC Hermers service guide to take apart, its 4 torque screws. All you need is to get the back off to see if the connector has come out. Possible if Hermes has been dropped.
Cheers...

hi guys! i'm benz and i'm from the philippines. i just recently bought a mint xda2..i was wondering if you could help me with some of the basics. i don't know where to start! (this forum is so full of info!) since i'm beginning to experiment with upgrades in OSes, can you guys fill out something for me? thanks!
1. i noticed there is a WM2003SE OS and a WM2005 OS for the xda2. i was wondering what are the differences of this OSes?
2. it's possible for WM2005 to go back to WM2003SE (or even the default xda2 O2)?
3. when it comes to stability, is the XdA2JoJo.v3.2zS version the best for my xda2?
4. I don't know about you guys, but my GSM signal for SUN seems to be reaaaaally lagged everytime. is this affected by the rom? (i'm using the latest O2 upgrade).
finally an OT question:
when converting a DivX movie to play for my xda2, how big will the file usually be?
some inputs to your questions...
1. i noticed there is a WM2003SE OS and a WM2005 OS for the xda2. i was wondering what are the differences of this OSes?
ans: one big difference from the original os to the 2003se is the ability to switch from portrait to landscape mode easily and without kinks. before this rom came out a bunch of chaps (including me) tried using software like jslandscape or nyditot for landscape mode. for the 2005, it takes the 2003se even further by adding a whole lot of enhancements. xda2jojo and buzz and toenailed did some very amazing work in bringing that rom to the xda2. and chances are they're still working on making it even better.
2. it's possible for WM2005 to go back to WM2003SE (or even the default xda2 O2)?
ans: downgrading from 2005 to 2003se is possible and has been done by myself and other people as well. for the original os, as long as you have a copy of that rom then it should be possible...though most chaps i know either stayed with se or 2005. btw, 2005 rocks!
finally an OT question:
when converting a DivX movie to play for my xda2, how big will the file usually be?
ans: i use divx; when i converted my dvd of spiderman2 for ppc use the resulting file was around 130mB. i think it depends on the movie length...to be safe you would probably need a 256mB card at the very least for one movie/dvd
cheers
thanks for your inputs! other differences in WM2003 from 2005?
how "buggy" is 2005 for the xda2 anyway?
There is any way after upgrade to come back to WM5, or place where I can download the orginal WM 5 rom for HTC Advantage?
Just in case if the programs what I'm using now on WM 5 are not working...
Doxn't think there is - but u won't want to go back
Yep, I worried about a roll-back with my Ameo, but I wish Id not wasted valuable seconds thinking about this - WM6 blows WM5 out of the water - faster and sexier and no bugs found yet! I did backup the cabs in the Extended_Rom, but then I found them in the upload section of xda-developers ftp area.
i think you could just flash yoru shipped rom ? i could be mistaken though
hi there,
1) after upgrading ny hermes-200 the ear speaker 9nit the loud speaker from the rear) stopped working. Now I cannot make phone calls and put the phone near my ear.
Does anyone familiar with such a problem? Or is it just a hardware failure?
Is there some way to Diagnise or solve this issue?
My cuurent rom is: Schap`s 3.60a
2) I`ve read almost every word In the hrmes wiki and I couldnot finde any WM6.1 cooked Rom for the hermes-200. IS there one availeable?
Or i`ll have to cook one by myselfmad:don`t like being in the kitchen)
Regards
You looked but ddn't read then as THIS IS A HERMES FORUM.... EVERY ROM on it is compatible with a Hermes device.... In the WM06 section any ROM that says 6.1 is compatible with your HERMES...
However, there is no OFFICIAL wm6.1 ROM as HTC don't support the Hermes anymore.
As for the speaker, did you drop your phone as this could have jarred the connection and the speaker connection may no longer be in contact. The front speaker connection is a mongrel to get to as the phone has to be completely broken apart.
Here is the tutorial on what you need to look for - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2001027&postcount=5
You will need to open your Hermes.
Cheers...
Tnx
Appreciate your reply.
I`ll try to open and fix the speaker.
Can you direct me to a wm6.1 rom.
I could not find it.
I think that a new organization of this wonderfull project
can help a lot new users

I'm a newbie here and considering the purchase of a used x7500 with WM6.0. The current owner has a problem with the bluetooth not functioning. I'm wondering if this might be a common problem with 6.0 and if the new cooked 6.1 (4 – if that’s the latest rom version) might solve such an issue? Also, would you mind directing me to the page that has the most popular /cleanest 6.1 rom? I’m tearing my hair out trying to figure out which is the safest one to use.
Kind regards,
Peter (Bamse1)
no need for 2 threads mate
Okay, but I didn't intend this as the same thread as the other one (see "Cleanest/Most Popular 6.1 rom as of 2DEC08??"). I just carelessly pasted some of the same intro text, but there is a difference. My focus on this thread concerns the BT issue. I will take the liberty to paste a private message reply quote from Brau0303 which helps answer the original question:
... As for the BT issue this could be a junk rom, a bad radio version (software & fixable) a hardware failure or something the current owner simply screwed up because they did not follow instructions and may or may not be fixable.

Bottom-line: Apparently no clear connection between faulty BT and a bad ROM. In the meantime, the HTC service vendor Anovo Nordic AB in Sweden has agreed to fix it free of charge as long as there is not visible damage (there is not) and it is under the 2-year HTC warranty (which it is). It is not clear what their views are on cooked ROMs, but probably not favorable. Fortunately it has not been flashed and has the stock HTC WM 6.0 - which is good news in this case.
Let me add a reply by Lakeman too:
I personally have never had a bluetooth problem and it is not a common problem... I would hope flashing another rom would fix your bluetooth problem, but some of these phones are getting old (18 mths) so there is the possibility of a hardware issue sometimes it would pay to reflash the radio as they can get corrupted as well just make sure you kmow which spl you have and flash the right one

I had a lot of bluetooth problems with the stock WM 6 rom. Most of these problems are gone with Michy v5 rom. But my brand new S740 is better still.
Thanks ralf_pp, but this thread is under the Athena X7500 advantage not the Rose S740, unless you're suggesting that Michy v5 also works with the X7500?? Do you mind clarifying?

I think he was talking about Michy's 5.0 or 5.1 ROM, which are two ROMs for Athena. And then he was probably bragging that his Rose has better bluetooth quality than Athena.
not sure what is on 7500 or 6.0 rom
but on factory original 7510 with 6.1 bluetooth works perfectl for stereo music and phone calls automatically.
it auto plays back, and cuts off as necessary to handle both.
remote control keys (AD2P) works perfectly.
voice dialing command key
phone feature key (press hold to dial last number)
press to mute, etc, etc....
Hi all,
Yes I'm new, and i was wondering if I could have a bit of help please?
I have a Neon200, and the Nike stuff obviously doesn't work for it. Saying that however, I have gone through the Neon Hard-SPL, from here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377260
and then i upgraded to a russian 6.1 (which is also on the board somewhere), and now plan to move to 6.5. I found one here, but apparently will have issues with the keyboard and the camera button.
My question is, is anyone else working on a ROM for wm6.5 that will work on my neon200? Or is there anyway to get a niki rom to work on it?
Thanks, and sorry if I've just asked a bunch of noob questions.
I got the 6.5 rom to work on my phone (albeit with limited physical key support)
But now I'm having the issue of my sim not working in there (no service, denied, searching..)
Think this is because the radio I have for it now doesn't work.
Can anyone help me with that?
My phone is the Neon200 (duh..), from Telstra NextG in Australia.
Cheers guys
Yeah.. I've been poking around a bit as well.. I think the official HTC image is only 6.1.. so if anyone can port the Niki 6.5 over it would be great!
Hmm...
It may be an issue with thephone. I still have it, and also have a 16 key NIKI100 now, as well as the touch diamond.
Think i'll just sell the other ones and stick with the diamond.
