In looking at the latest offerings from phones, I am curious what people (who own a titan) would upgrade for?
The Touch Pro is the upgrade for the 6800/Mogul. But, It's not that great of an upgrade at this time because know the Touch Pro 2 is on it's way by end of year.
So would wait for the Touch Pro 2, or would you gamble and see if we have an Touch HD2 with keyboard?
My concern is that the new HTC (and it has to be HTC....XDA forums is what adds value to the phones when carries don't) devices are not leaps and bounds upgrades. No 3d acceleration is a big thing as we round the corner on new device OSes.
The Qualcommm procs at 528mhz seem too slow, so I hope HTC has some mid year suprises for us.
Well with verizon it doesnt matter what phone it is, they somehow screw things up and get things a year after the fact, but, I cant believe Im saying this, if the PalmPre comes to VZW and gets video recording...might look there.
If a Touch HD 2 is coming out, it's a ways off. The Touch Pro 2 was just announced. HTC doesn't announce phones often. The original Touch Pro was announced almost a year ago
im digging the samsung omnia by verizon..
i have sprint now..
but with the family plan and data plans (2) it would be $176 a month.... screw that... im at $85 a month now...

I would totally ditch my phone for an HTC Touch Pro2. That thing looks so sexy and anything has to have more memory than the Titan. If only there was a way to add more to it.
Touch Pro is close but it has mediocre battery life.
The TP2 has an odd sized screen that would lead to compatibility issues.
Right now, Nothing. The Xv6800 does pretty much everything for now. They might get smaller, more memory or maybe a little faster but, it's not a major change.
The current phone, tho is low on the memory scale, does GPS, all WM features, even newest builds of WM 6.5.... I find no need to sign a 2 year contract and not get any really new features in a phone...
When WM 7 devices start showing up (muti-touch, more like iphone feature set), then I will start looking for a new phone...
but, that is just my 2 cents....
David,
I think I am with you on this. The "upgrades" of the Touch Pro and the Touch Pro 2 are not compelling enough to spend 5 bills on, or sign a new contract over.
If only the Titan had more memory, I'd be fine with it. It drives me crazy using Opera or the new IE with all of the low memory issues.
Also there is a good point about the screen size. The current titan is QVGA, and there are many other devices using QVGA. The Diamond/TP are VGA. The new Diamond2/TP2 are WVGA.
So will WVGA be the new "standard" resolution apps are written toward? Will VGA fade quickly because there are not that many phones that have it today, and may not have many with WVGA coming down the route.
If someone could offer a legit upgrade to 128+ megs of memory for the Titan for a reasonable price, I think they could make some serious cash to tide people over.
A Titan with 256MB ram and a new processor. I just realized how much I love the form factor and have come to terms with it's thickness (though I'd prefer thinner), and I am in love with the hardware buttons which make me say that.
But I will likely get a vogue soon because my titan's power button is broken (detached from the main board) and I'm having charging issues. I might replace the xv6800 but verizon has discontinued it and the vogue is free. It's also thinner and I don't know how I'll get over the keyobard and the wifi, but my xv6800 might become my wifi device since I don't need an internet connection constantly, and my 6800 would probably work when I do.
However, I think the touch Pro 2 looks really nice. It has a better keyboard and bigger screen-which I have wanted, but I really would having that ok button. But with the bigger screen it might not matter that much. I want the touch pro 2 to be the iPhone...really.
No one makes the phone I want, no one ever will I think (though the Blackstone and TP2 are close), but I also want iPhone software and a capacitive screen. So if my 6800 didn't have problems I might be lusting a bit over the touch pro and of course the touch pro 2, but the titan should just be given the TP's internals!
I like the 1Ghz Toshiba phone . . . not sure if it will be offered CDMA. I'm locked into VZW with family plan. I'm up for free2 in August, so I'm excited about all the new handsets coming out. I just hope VZW lives up to their promise of open architecture hardware and brings some of the better ones to their customers.

That is the one I want.
256mb ? What do we live in the dark ages ? What would you really want on a phone ?
I'd think at least 2-3gb to start with for memory. Files these days are big, and with all the multi-media features they support I would think we should start seeing phones with much larger memory built in, personaly I kind of expect it on my next phone.
I got my 6800 when my 6700 died for the 3rd time (thank god for insurance), so not under a contract here. My 6800 does almost everything most of us need as of now.
Come on WM 7, get here with some cool azz phones !!!!!!

I dont have that long to wait.... I WANT IT NOW..
plus it is probably like when the cd rom first came out..
they released the 1x but had the 52x designed and made..
1x then few weeks later 2x then 3x to 4x to 8x, 16x etc..... all in the name of making money....
There is nothing out now that makes me want to upgrade. The TP is great but has even poorer battery life than the Titan. The Omnia is on VZW and would cost me almost 2x what I'm paying now per month. I'm also about fed up with WM in general, the promise that the next version will fix the performance issues and improve and simplify the interface has become old. I like what WM can do, but it requires way too much attention and 3nd party software to do it. I'm interested in what the Pre will bring and what Android will become. I'm a bit disappointed in Androids progress though, it's much slower than I thought. If I stay with WM, I will wait for the TP2 at least. This is of course predicated on the continued life of my Mogul.
I jumped for a sprint touch pro (on verizon) and have to say it was worth paying ~$400 off ebay to have the device. It is faster, more stable and a huge step up from my titan. I had to send it back to get the usb port fixed and it is almost painful to go back to my titan. I love my titan, don't get me wrong, but the Touch Pro was worth the upgrade in my opinion.
Not saying I wont run out and get the TP2 or HD when its available!
There aren't really any phones out now that interest me enough to replace my XV. I love my xv, it's the best phone I've ever used. Sure it has its quirks and needs a soft reset every now and then, but I can live with that.
The TP is a great device no doubt, but I can't get over the lack of hardware buttons. I use my "OK" and "Messaging" and "Start" button all the time. The TP just isn't better enough to warrant changing devices. Also, VZW has a neutered version, which bugs me.
That being said, what would make me upgrade? It will take a WM7 device with significantly better hardware or possibly a new Android device. Sorry G1, T-Mo sucks and I don't like your hardware. And as cheap as RAM and flash memory is, I expect the next generation of devices to have at least 512 of RAM.
Touch Pro 2 .. but I would still keep the Titan to play with
as the new phones has just about everything .. not much fun..

It is also important to note that more memory (memory = RAM; storage = ROM) means lower battery life. Sure, memory may be cheap, but battery tech hardly ever changes and battery life is a large complaint about current gen devices as is.
I'm sure the Evo 3d will be every bit as capable as the Tegra 2 devices. But nvidia has the developers courted in a big way. I'm not a huge gamer, but I do enjoy the 10 or so on my Evo 4g. I'd have to say games on the Evo 4g are underwhelming. So I'm excited about the 3d having the chops for some serious games. But now I'm afraid that the qualcomm processor means it simply won't get the cool games with so many developers committed to Tegra 2. And some of these Tegra 2 games look pretty sweet.
With the rumor of a Tegra 2 device on Sprint, I question if it would be worth waiting for. What do y'all thing? Will qualcomm get the gaming love from developers? Will these cool Tegra games be ported to other capable dual core devices?
Fragmentation...
I was just thinking about this earlier. WTF is nvidia thinking?
THAT is *actual* fragmentation that everyone is talking about. That's not a difference of a simple version number that can be upgraded....things for download in the market that WILL NOT WORK on 90% of all phones? That's terrible. That's selfish. That will. not. help.
Even if they own 90% of the market its still wrong. LEss obvious, but wrong just the same. I hope nvidia fails and goes out of business for that maneuver. There is nothing keeping the game from running on non tegra² GPU's....sure, it probably won't run great....that's fine....but to have it look for a vendorID string and say 'sorry' just cuz you bought the wrong brand? That's insulting. Go ahead, tear the android market in 2 pieces.
...I think they'll fail on that front. What scumbags. Take something that is a legitmate but fringe concern (fragmentation) and turn it into a legitmate and very very real (market leading?) issue.
I'm not a gamer, but, it will suck that there are games I can't play--at any performance level--cuz I'm not wearing the right brand sneakers...or whatever.
fnck nvidia. That's all marketing and branding, lets keep it a strictly performance based game with standards as the rules...
chainfire3d is an app that is currently allowing tegra zone on most 1ghz devices. I'm not worried about the Evo 3D getting games because we can run anything the tegra 2 devices can AND there are 3D games coming very soon (3DS ports).
I feel this tatic of terga exclusive games will either fail by the end of the year or most high end phones on the next generation will have a terga processor including whatever HTCs next line will be. Personally I'm skeptical that this will take off. They do seem to have a developer following and if I was more of a gamer I couldn't see buying a non terga phone. SO maybe I'm wrong.
@daneurysm
Exactly! Forget Froyo vs. GB. This is the fragmentation that really sucks for consumers.
@sprinttouch666
chainfire3d looks pretty sweet. hadn't seen that before. I won't even bother loading that on my Evo cause I'm sure it'll choke with a beefy game. But it looks like we'll have to be quick to get root and S-off for the 3d to see what this app can do for it. But 3ds ports may be quite a job since they'd have to code out the DS part. Not sure how many game devs would bother for 2 or 3 3d capable phones in the whole market.
Check your specs fellas, qualcomm's processors blow the Tegra 2 out of the water... Tegra has dual 1ghz synced cores, Qualcomm has dual 1.2ghz asynchronous cores. Qualcomm's chips also feature the Adreno GPU which is faster and more efficient than the Tegra 2's minimalist GPU. Do some Googling to confirm then rest assured, the EVO 3D IS the droid you're looking for *waves hand like Obi Wan*

So the EVO 3d's chip outperforms these Tegra chips? I thought they were only releasing it for the Tegra chips because they might have been more powerful. Good to know if this isn't the case.
Now what is in the GS2 as I saw a benchmark video and it blew the Sensation out of the water? I know those benchmarks aren't everyhing but will the SG2 be that much more powerful then the Evo 3d?
I think tegra2 is possibly the slowest of the dual core bunch. BUT when games are coded specifically for that chip, will it matter that qualcomm's chip is better? What good is all that power if all the high quality games only run on tegra?
And you can't blame devs for coding to the most popular chip out for android. That chip is in phones, tabs, and more
Don't forget to blame the developers too, nvidia drives a dump truck full of money to their front porch and says "make this game work only on tegra2 devices".

meh droid has always been a abbreviation for android, in all reality an android phone named droid is silly
I don't think I heard a single person refer to Android as "droid" prior to Verizon's marketing campaign...Droid is Verizon's branding, not Moto's or Samsung's or anyone else's...
I wouldn't be picky if it wasn't for the fact that "DROID" is so obvious on all Droid products. You definitely know if your phone is a droid and you definitely know if it isn't.
Benchmarks I've seen all put Exynos/Tegra/MSM8x60 slightly behind the new TI OMAP4. No matter what you choose it's going to be ridiculous. At the level these phones are at you cant go wrong.
Im pretty sure you'll still be able to play the games if you want to but they'll have a version special made for the tegra 2. It wouldn't surprise me if qualcomm started doing something similar but I'm not going to be buying a game that is nerfed even though my phone can handle it just fine.
Everybody's bringing up good (and funny) points, in the long run, once dual core processors are the norm, I think we'll see these "processor specific" games go the way of the dodo

It reminds me of 3D graphics cards in the late 90's. You had to get a game made for your 3Dfx card to get 3D...or whatever mfgr....but that was the state of the software at the time, we lacked a common API, directX/directdraw was a mere infant at the time and Direct3D was only in beta testing...progress in progress.
Now they are trying to intentionally revert to this horrible horrible situation in the name of branding. They want to enslave you to a market for just their processors and/or supported games.....but it's not an API problem, its a vendorID string problem--and that's just effed up.
So in conclusion we need google to make something like directx???
riptide looks AWESOMEEEE to bad I will not be buying a tegra phone..... all of them suck (atrix has pentile display and blur, optimus 2x has lots of problems, droid x2 same as atrix)

No, the companies involved need to just not do this. There are already APIs to cover this.
Game developers are getting bribed, ahem, "courted" to support this chipset. The actual performance difference is likely negligible to keep it compatible all around. Even if it isn't negligible so long as it runs on everything android so be it--they just have a better graphics chip. Competition drives innovation.
But if they are just making it suck on non tegra2 devices by pulling the deviceID string, well, that's just disgusting.

I think it's more a matter of the chip makers purposely trying to fragment, when programming it's always faster to write native code then use APIs (as talking directly to the hardware instead of going through android) but different chip makers are using different commands and incorporating their own customized features directly into the chips.
I would be surprised if google doesn't put their foot down and stop this sooner or later.

Between 2:10 and 2:25.
When I first heard about a glasses free 3d display I was pumped for a real 3D usage experience. Especially when considering the widget animations and now 3D carousel screen transitions in sense 3.0.
In the video above, precisely at 2:22, the HTC rep confirms that not even the new weather animations will have a 3d effect.
I for one am bitterly disappointed, I could care less about filming my girlfriends tits in 3d, or posting pics on Facebook so I can be boring in 3 dimensions to the 7 people worldwide that can actually view 3d content on their monitors.
I also can care less about mobile gaming, and will never spend a penny paying some company for 3d movies... although I might pirate them come to think of it.
So besides recording some 3d porn, I cant see a single use for this 3D screen...
Realistically speaking, what are the odds of a UI update, or a modded version coming to fruition? Will the 3D platform mature anytime soon? Or should I grab the superior (arguably) SGS 2 and revisit 3d in 2 years when content developers are taking it seriously?
If green hornet 3d is what I have to look forward to then they can keep it.
Please add your thoughts/rumors/reports.

They said in March when they revealed it that the UI would not be 3D, don't know why this comes as a shock to you now.
Plenty of Movies/Mobile Games will be more than enough 3D for you to handle. You'll be glad the UI is not in 3D anyway, it gets strenuous on the eyes. Its an effect that you're not supposed to be exposed to all hours of the day.

I was aware. That didn't preclude the possibility of incorporating 3d elements here and there. Furthermore, I'd like to know if anyone has heard anything about this being expanded.
Are there any tools in existence for creating custom content to build into a ROM, how feasible would that be etc.
The 3d effect only works in landscape. So a ui based around portrait use has no chance of working in 3d no matter who takes up the challenge.
Btw, I'd love to be proven wrong. I hoped the whole experience could be 3d.
Personally I don't really care ..the 3d to me is an added bonus ..I'm buying for the powerful specs and since Sprint gave me. Free upgrade I'm all for it..
Who cares whether you like the 3d or not, don't use it. It is an added bonus that you are obviously not paying for as the device is $199 after upgrade.
It would be exactly the same price if they removed the 3d feature so why do people really care! It is nit like HTC skimped somewhere else. For the people who say the 5mp camera, please do your research about mp's before making the stupid comment like many others keep making about it being a downgrade.
The EVO's 8mp camera blows and if they took the same EVO camera and made it 15mp's it would still blow, just larger!
when i first heard about glass-free 3D technology on mobile phones, i couldn't be more excited... waiting for the day i get my hands on an evo3D
and some time later, i heard news about samsung not making 3D phones, saying they don't see potential in making the devices... and then i was growing a bit skeptical...but not stirred (cuz samsung ain't exactly my cup of tea anyways)
today.. i went and tried a LG optimus 3D... and you know what? to my surprise... it's crap, pure marketing gimmick, it's like them 3D stickers, but with motion pictures, i am sorely disappointed in this technology and i imagine the evo3D would have similar affects.... now.... i'm planning to skip everything mobile 3D...
I could care less about the 3D as well. What makes this phone so great, is the phone itself. This is the best phone Sprint has had since the EVO which is why I think most people are excited about the phone. I am looking forward to seeing what Devs can do with this horsepower.
I will be interested to see if 3D apps start coming out over the next year. It looks like HTC is going let Devs produce apps made specifically for Sense and that might include 3D stuff. Right now there is very little too be that excited about in regards to 3D - but there is a lot of potential for some pretty cool stuff.
If this phone didn't have all of the other specs and all it had going for it was 3D then this phone probably goes the way of the Echo (dual-screen phone) but the amazing specs along with 3D is creating a lot of excitement.

Exactly, if HTC had not added the 3d and called this new device the EVO 2, I would bet that it would be exactly the same phone we are getting now minus the 3d. It would be the Sprint version of the Sensation.
I don't understand why people don't get.
Even if you don't like the 3D display, being able to take 3D pictures and video is pretty amazing on a phone that's $199. 3DTVs are still growing in market share, they're not going away. I myself have a pretty nice one, and the EVO 3D is coming out the day before my Florida vacation. Really looking forward to getting some nifty 3D videos.
Besides, they could be like every other manufacturer and come out with the "EVO 2" with just updated specs. The 3D functionality is a really awesome throw-in if you ask me.

I agree with everyone who wants the phone for its specs rather than for the 3D. For those who are surprised the 3D is not as good as theaters then anything I say to you, you wouldn't understand cause your just to damn stupid. (No need to say my grammur is wrong anywhere cause I dont give a **** and I add this cause whenever someone says someones stupid or retarded someone always says...its then not than, who's stupid now) The phone is gonna be sick and it has amazing potential to be even more bad ass than it is. 3D games.....fun. 3D movies......showoff. 3D pictures and videos........can't tell me you wouldn't have some fun with it. But with all the 3D effects gone, the phone is still equal to or greater that Samsung.
To actually address the wasted potential argument, I think we're all on these forums because we individually feel like every phone has potential beyond the stock versions.
As far as wasted is concerned, you can't really say it's wasted if there's no proven way to efficiently better it. I haven't really looked around, but I don't think there are many phones that are using the potential of 3D tech in a better way. Granted, you could say that every 3D device that will hit the market in a similar time frame may be wasting potential, i'm not sure anyone knows of a proven way to better it at this time.
3D everything would be great, especially if the 2D/3D switch could turn it off/on on the whole phone. but i don't think the tech is there yet.
personally, i'll be getting it because it's the best device for me, even without the 3D feature.

Unfortunately, I was merely hypothesizing. I've been out of the loop for quite some time.
Photon 4G was just announced for Sprint: http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/09/motorolas-4-3-inch-photon-4g-brings-tegra-2-kickstand-magic-to/
Similar specs to Evo 3d in some areas but some intriguing differences too like Tegra 2 chip and it being a world phone rather than US only and having a kickstand. There is also reference to accessing a larger screen through a doc which I'm wondering if is something like the Atrix's laptop-like doc (which I love as a concept).
Not heard anything good about Blur but then there are a lot of Sense-detractors too. Anybody know if you can turn off Blur and install another launcher on Motorola phones without bootloading?
Yea I don't like the design, Blur or VGA front facing cam. And to think...I was going to get this phone if HTC didn't reverse their decision on locked bootloaders. HA!
Neither one is perfect for me
I really like HTC so I'm getting the 3D but if I had my way I would take the new EVO 3D without all the 3D stuff
I preordered a 3D

Well being that its already been shown that the CPU/GPU combo in the 3D is hands above the combo with tegra 2 in the photon, not even an option for me.
There is one feature that would have me choose the photon over the e3d..... 'free' tethering on the laptop dock.
This would set them apart from att with this device and would be the best offer in the industry. If you are willing to buy the phone and laptop dock, they could let you use it on only the phone's data plan. That is win!
But it won't happen.
Ask yourselves that, if the laptop dock use was free, would you be much more likely to buy it?
Decent phone, nice specs but not for me. Plus who knows when it will release. Sprint announced the 3D in March and we won't get it until the end of June so available sometime in Sept. No thanks, the 3D will do everything I want and I prefer Sense over Blur.
I'll take HTC over Moto..
I think the EVO-3D with Myn's "Warm TwoPointThree" ROM will be the best phone for 2011, besides the quad core Nexus-Three
I was going to skip the E3D for some other Android offering and I think I may have found my next phone. It looks good but I have to get confirmation that the bootloader won't be locked down. The specs look pretty awesome and I can't wait until they hack it to work without a laptop dock.
Awesome.
The main reason I'll get this over the E3D is because it's a world phone.
OP you should copy and paste the specs of the phone in the 1st post so people don't ask spec questions.
Photon has 16gb internal storage vs e3d 4gb. I use internal for apps only so 4gb is enough. The Tegra 2 isn't all its Cracked up to be especially against the newer qualcomm chips.
Photon has international support so that could be important for some.

I think I have decided against the Evo 3D. At this point in time we can expect that the boot loader for the 3D will come encrypted with the possibility of being unlockable at a later time. Motorola has pretty much encrypted everything they have released in the past 6 months except the Xoom. So my initial expectations are that the Photon is also going to come with an encrypted bootloader. Which means I more than likely will not be getting this phone. We know pretty much for certain that the SGS2 will come with an unlockable bootloader. To me the choice is very easy. SGS2 here I come.
Seems similarly specced to the atrix..and no 1080p video recording bio

I just saw this and it seriously made me re-think my decision to get the 3D. I've been looking around for benches pitting the Tegra 2 against the 3rd gen Snapdragon. It also has much more internal memory, I believe the 3D is 4gb. My biggest reservation is that Moto isn't very hacker friendly and, from what I've seen, that isn't likely to change any time soon.
But it has been a while since sprint and MOTO played nice

I think most people already saw the specs when the phone was rumored a few weeks ago. There was a thread on it somewhere.

This is what I'm curious about... Does it have a SIM card? The phone is CDMA & GSM? It would be damn nice to have a good phone to use in Japan if I could just plug in the SIM card from my japan phone

lol, so much wrong in that statement. BTW, it looks as if toast has already looked and saw the 3D can be rooted, so no problem anywhere as far as locked down.

He might be right in the statement he made. The few 3D's that have been seen around are review samples and are s-off. No one is certain whether the initial batch will be encrypted or not due to the fact they were already manufacturing them when HTC decided not to encrypt the boot loaders. We might have to wait for an OTA to get them un-encrypted, won't know until they release. As for Moto, he is correct, they do their best to lock down everything.
I was thinking..
First off, I'm very happy with my 3D.
OK, I started to think about next years Evo, Wondering how its going to be.
knowing Evo line is top dog for sprint. I know, Sprint wont disappoint next year.
I cant imagine what else can Htc can put in a phone to make it better?
Are super 3D phone is a nice phone. but, next years Evo should get better all around!
So just for fun, what do you guys think the next successor for are beloved Evo 3d will have under the hood?
I know Sprint is having a presentation in CES, which should be intresting.
also, Htc needs to step up there game knowing Samsung has taken the lead.
I 'm thinking they need to come out with something better than Galaxy Nexus which is Samsung best phone now.
And finally will Htc add 3d to the next Evo successor?
I hope next Evo has:
-Kickstand I really miss it.
-1080p recording
-4.7 inch 720p screen (want higher ppi than iphone)
-Cpu: I'm sorry Htc, just drop Qualcomm go with tegra 3!
-ram 1.5
-internal storage 16gb/up
-bigger battery 1950 mah?
-WORLD PHONE!?
-Lte? because wimax is having a slow death.
- Better 3D
Thoughts?
All that but I want two gigs of ram. Why you ask? Nintendo DS emulators haha. Two gigs and a tegra three would most likely make that possible

Qualcomm's S4 are better imo than tegra 3.

Yup Yup!!
Anyone that has doubts of Qualcomm needs to read up on their new s4 chips. Were talking LTE modem built into the freaking die of the chip itself! Supposed to save huge on battery life in regards to that aspect. Watch the engadget district video that has the HTC new developer tablet on it for ton more info.

Also its probable that we won't have the next big EVO till later in the year as compared to the past when its been June/july. Seems were lookin at septemberish now based on the sprint exec saying first LTE phones in late 3rd qtr next yr.

Qualcomm is probably one of the top tech companies in the world right now. Just because Tegra 2 had the spot light in 2011, don't underestimate the S3 and the upcoming S4. They have some of the highlight ARM architecture in all the world, focusing not just on raw power but a balance of on-board radios, power conservation, and developing their own GPUs.
I'm betting July will see the EVO LTE, maybe quad-core, 4.7" 720p with NFC and Beats audio, and of course LTE radio. By then, HTC might also make the full-time swap to AMOLED screens.
You have to look at it like this, the next EVO will be the TRUE EVO sequel, because original EVO owners will be coming off their 2-year contracts.
CPU
Thanks for the reply's.
Anyways, I took a look at Qualcomm s4 processors and was very impress.
I might have to take back what I said about dropping Qualcomm
and getting tegra 3.
Lastly I read somewhere that maybe Intel will be also making a announcement same time frame as sprint? maybe Evo super phone with Intel Cpu??
Why do you wish to have 1080p video capture? The compression would be horrible and the optics are quite crappie as it is for video. Just seems like a waste to me
Qualcomm is the best right now, but no reason to leave it. Wimax is going downhill fast though, so lte is much stronger signal to get inside buildings.

I just want one camera with a higher quality sensor and use the rest of that space for a decent speaker.
Dear HTC, we do not all live and work in quiet environments. When $20 prepaid throw away phones are ringing louder than yours, there is a problem.
I'd settle for the exact same CPU/GPU (clocked at 1.5) if it had a brighter 720p 3D screen that DIDN'T lower its resolution when in 3D (like 3DS, it would technically be 2560x720 ro 2560x1440, but have 1280x720 effectively in and out of 3D)
I'd buy two of the damned things. Why? F**k you, that's why!

The only reason WiMax penetration is so bad is because of the spectrum that Sprint uses for it currently. They are leveraging the 800mhz spectrum leftover from the iDen network Sprint acquired from Nextel right now, but I'm not sure if it's for LTE or not yet, I'm hoping it is bc that would make overall penetration much better. (that's what she said, lol.)
Anyways, to the point of this thread.
What I hope the Evo LTE has:
-keep the 4.3in screen (I don't care if it's 3D or not just better than the already amazing qHD) bc I like being able to fit this in my pocket and I have a tablet for a bigger screen.
-Qualcomm quad-core processor.
-1.5-2gb of ram.
-either make it come with 16gb onboard storage or throw in a 32gb microsd(Verizon's been doing it).
-Kickstand that allows for both landscape and portrait view.
-bring back HDMI (im not sold on the whole DLNA thing, but what do I know).
-10mp camera (don't care about 1080p for my phone, there are dedicated HD cameras out there for that).
-NFC
-keep the dedicated camera button (love it).
-have two different colors at launch as opposed to waiting.
-ICS (Duh)
-Sense 4.0 (I hated 1.0 but 3.0 and 3.5 have been great IMO).
-Gorilla Glass (Duh)
-Some type of net top ability a la motorola, but with chrome instead of firefox.
- Biggest battery possible with slimmest form factor.
-Keep the Black/Red accents (classy and sexy all at the same time.)
-Ditch the physical home/menu/back/search keys and keep the bezel to a minimum (phones look better when their screens take advantage of the real estate.)
-Removable bloatware (one can only hope...)
-unlockable bootloader at launch, no waiting months later (I'll still wait for S-off myself ;-)
-Aluminum unibody
-Google+ integration with sense bc I hate Facebook.
-and as always I hope it can cook, clean, and pleasure
-

Ditto, you pretty much nailed what the next one should be like.
I'll add that they dial up Carl Ziess & get serious about the camera & it's lens.
- I want an AMOLED screen....first and foremost. After seeing how amazing things look on those screens, I won't consider any phone that doesn't have that in the future.
- At least 16GB of eMMC storage
- MicroSDXC capable card slot
- Screen size like the Galaxy Nexus
- Include the stock android launcher. I like sense apps (messaging, browser, etc), but give me the option to use the stock launcher
- Processor/GPU of similar/better performance to the Exynos processors in the ET4G
- LTE and WiMax radios. If sprint is going to continue to support wimax, there will be pockets where you have one, but not the other. Allow us to connect to both.
Make the phone thinner!
It should look more like the HTC Sensation, but maybe a 4.5 inch HD screen.

More ram

One thing i dont want to see is it being thinner or redic. thin. I like the size thickness wise of the phones now to be honest.
-LTE
-Tegra3 Processor 1.5ghz. Not underclocked.
-An actual 4gb ram after software installation.
-16gb internal storage with 64gb microsd slot
-Keep qHD res. Higher res means harder to find crystal clear wallpapers.
-Samsung display colors. They are gorgeous.
-ICS Stock
-Kickstand(A MUST)
-2000mah battery or higher in a slim design.
-All black sleek design with red casing like Evo 4G.
-Better camera photo wise.
-Last but not least...Button apart of the phone again. Not the back door like this phone. My power button sinks in and I have to remove the door and put it back on to fix it again.
