I have a Vodafone branded HTC pro with the crappy red and white TFL3D
The ROM version is 1.90.161.5WWE
If I flash to another shipped ROM number:- 1.90.707.1 would this bring me to the HTC black and white TFL3D?
What other benefits would I experience? and are there any disadvantages?
If i needed to send it back ever under warranty, could I get back the original ROM?
NEED TO ASK:- Will Flashing my ROM clear all the apps, info etc from my phone?
Thanks for any heads up on the above

Flashing any OS rom will clear all your apps and settings - just like a hard reset (which you should do after flashing any rom)
btw flashing the radio only does not do that
Are you sure.. Just been reading Flashing a ROM doesn't clear data / settings.
Can someone confirm plz?
I want to start flashing my Iolite, although before I will start I would like to know if there's any original shipped UK O2 ROM available, and if not is it possible (it is, I guess) and if so, how to fully back it up/dump it so I can revert to that later on? Thanks.
Hi everyone,
I have a stock HD2, bought it from eastern EU.
I do sms alot amongst other things but the problem is that sometimes the sms i send never reach the destination.
I did check if the other person i not out of signal and so and anything regarding signal issues and network coverage.
I activated the delivery reports and as stated sometimes the sms never gets in the air.
If anyone had the same problem or knows a fix for this issue i would be much obliged.
Regards
P.S. sometimes if i don't get a delivery report with delivered or any at all, i restart the phone (turn off, back on) and i do recieve the reports and the sms are sent.
Sometimes not, like at the moment...
Whats your ROM version? Any updates or patches applyd?
Thank you for your post!
Excuse me for i really forgot to mention my ver and so on.
OS 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila Ver 2.5.19211619.0
ROM 1.48.405.2 (71294) WWE
Rom date - 18.11.2009
Radio 2.05.51.05_2
The only updates i made to the software were the ones on the oficial htc web page.
No updates to the ROM because for my serial number none could be applied.
I am very new to the WM world so i didnt want to make any changes to the phone that would result in an expensive brick
Hope this will help you help me,
Regards
there should be an official update for the sms prob om the htc forum. also i strongly suggest updating your ROM to atleast 1.66 stock (or a custom one)
Thanks for the reply,
Problem is that i did try the official HTC update for the sms application.
Also i did try to update my ROM from the official site but when asked to enter my serial number it prompted me that the update is not suitable for my phone.
Kind of scared to update the ROM as my noobish self could brick the phone by doing something idiotic.
Also i wouldnt know wich of the milions of ROMS out there is recomended for my type of phone.
Regards

The reason is because all the mobile operators add their own personalisation to the ROM (ie T-Mobile will have Web'n'Walk in the ROM). So not to step on the mobile companies modifications, HTC will only give their ROM updates to unbranded phones (this is done through the serial number). To get the ROM update from the operator you need to go to their website.
Personally I would go to the ROM section on here and follow the instructions in install the 1.66 standard ROM. Please read the instructions and just not go straight to the download area. The 1.72 ROMs are the 1.66 ROM with mobile company branding.
Thank you for the reply,
I am going to do just that, thanks also for clearing the ROM issue for me.
Trying to install ROM 1.66 then.
Hope i will manage to
Well i just want to backup my orignal firmware before flashing a new one and yes i don't have CWM (not been developed for I9001) so i'm asking for a pc based software or maybe something like ROM manager/ADB which would backup my current firmware so that i can apply it back whenever i want...
I tried samfirmware.com but they have firmwares which do not match the one i have...
Bumping...the thread
Provide me with ANY working ROM.Thanks!.
Hi De Da, I have PMed you a link to the instructions for installing the stock asia backup you downloaded but if you want to get a rom that works well on your phone we'll need to know the region you bought the phone in and preferably the software version number it was running (eg: 1.31.401.3) so we can suggest the closest matched version for your original firmware (radio, baseband, ect). Without some information about your phone version and what state it is in how can anyone help you.
