External Antenna Cover?

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement cover for the external antenna jack (the little rubber plug on the back across from the camera)? Using a PDA2K/Blue Angel.
Mine was loose and fell out somewhere and was lost. Now the unit isn't steady on a table if I'm tapping on the screen with the stylus.
N.
Here's what I did:
Take a "Bic" biro (one of the ones with the yellow casing.
Remove the plug at the blunt end
Squeeze the plug slightly using pliers or teeth
Place over aerial cover
Result - no more rocking...
Tim
Yes the "BIC" biro lid did the magic for me as well.

Hehe nice idea! I didnt think of that one myself.
I was playing with the cover on my XDA 2 once in the same silly subconcious way I do as chewing the stylus and somehow lost it! I called O2 to check if they could sell me a new one but they dont offer that part. However I went to an O2 shop and was able to obtain from them the one off their display dummy.
I'm being very careful not to lose this one!

Thanks guys, I'll have to get one of those pens and try it!
N.
You know - I read this the other day, and thought to myself - Geez, glad I haven't opened my antenna plug to make it lose.. And then yesterday I pulled my phone out of my pocket and blam! It's gone!.. No Bic BIROS in Canada - but lots of "Crystals" - I remember the pens from a long time ago being in Canada.. Oh well. Maybe the rubber piece will turn up.
lost my bluetooth headset, and my antenna cover in two days, what next..
Well, you could tie a string to the headset, and glue in the rubber plug.....LOL
Seriously though,I have also used a rubber plug from an inkjet cartridge refill kit. They have several different sizes in the kit. If you have one of these kits already, you can rob one from it!!

Weather resistant Blue Angel Case

I'm looking to bring my Blue Angel out on the ski slopes this winter and I'd really hate to damage it with condensation. I plan to keep it in an inner pocket of my coat and I'll be using a wired headset with it. I already have a 2600 Otterbox. But it's huge and doesn't have a way to get headphone cables out, something slimmer with a means to get a headphone cable out would be best. Honestly, I'm considering using a zippered zip lock bag. Anyone have a better recomendation?
I went sying with my BA last year and opted not to use it again, the cold drained the battery by midday.
same problem here
im going to get a simple plastic hermetic box (like the one wich you use to store food), get headphones wire outside and put it into my backpack... im snowboarding and it's way easier to damage your phone cause you can hit the ground with your chest also...

Anyone know of any UK suppliers of parts?
Softbank 2MP Camera Part
I am looking for a camera replacement part for my Softbank. I was the part that caused my Softbank to display totally WHITE SCREEN.
Here is the story:
Last five months I accidentally dropped my Hermes on the floor carpet and when I turned it on, it displayed all WHITE SCREEN. I tot the LCD screen was the culprit and bought some LCD for replacement from eBay. I dismantled everything and tried to replace the LCD but it resulted the same WHITE SCREEN. Then I dismantled the Jog Dial and the Camera and reattached part by part. The jog dial caused no problem but the Camera showed positive result on WHITE SCREEN behavior. Now I dismantled the Camera and my SOftbank X01HT works like a charm... Well almost like a charm with no 2MP Camera... LOL...
So I am looking for the part also to put it back on my TyTn...

Broken ATT 8525, Touch screen totaled
I was taking photos and drop it right on the face. I was using it as a iPod with a unregistered go phone sim card till I did a Master Reset and now it's a paper weight because I can't do the start up BS. Touch screen is totaled but the rest of the internal parts and battery are good, front cover don't look bad, back is great, have 2 stylus and a hard metal case for it too. PM me here and we'll work something out, Paypal OK. Vince
It's a paper weight to me, I'm not going to put money other than shipping is someone wants to send me a screen for the joy of it, if I fix it I'd just give it to my sister anyway. I'm happy with my Tilt and I'm ready to move on to the Fuse soon, thanks for the replies!!

Useing a dummy phone for replacement case/parts?

Anyone have any experience with this? I was thinking about trying it because the replacement housings for the HTC Wizard are crazy pricey IMO. heres a link
http://www.dummyphones.com/product_p/mda-tmobile.htm
I mainly need a new volume spring thing and the outer housing. Will this work? The site says no but i have a feeling they're dirty lairs.
Waiting for your impute peoplez!
capn out!
I recently bought a dummy 8125 with hopes of using its case as a replacement for mine. When I take the dummy phone apart, I will let you know if the volume key is a real functional key. My belief is it must be, but who knows. I only paid $6.00 US dollars so not big loss if I am wrong.
Jeff
awsome to hear that Jeff, ill be watchin this thread. Let me know if the case works too please.
Well I have good news and bad news. Here is what I did. I took my recently acquired HTC P4300 dummy phone (identical layout in every way to a 8125) and completely dismantled it. Of course there was no screen, motherboard, or working keyboard. What there was:
Complete outer housing
Complete inner housing & keyboard assembly
Buttons: Power, voice record, camera, all front keys (ie/inbox, talk/end, navigation, two softkeys)
The com manager/volume slider buttons are attached to the keyboard, they are functional keys. But you can not use the keyboard assembly as the keyboard is fake. You could pry them out and put them in your old keyboard assembly.
I disassembled both the dummy phone and my 8125. Swapped everything except the keyboard. The dummy phone camera cover does not have an antenna. So you carefully peel up the antenna and glue it down to the new dummy camera cover. The other modification is you peel up the keyboard keys and put them on the 8125 keyboard. (hard to explain) They keys are one big skin glued down.
Here are some pictures. ( I apparently can't hold the camera still)

Hey Jeffla!!! i noticed you changed your HTC p4300/wizard casing for a another one, and i was hoping if you could tell me where i can buy a new/use full body housing for my wizard!!!!!!! i"ve been looking for an original all black housing but all i can come across is the silver housing and i don't want that!!!!! if you could help me out i would be in great debt to you!!!!!! THNX in advance!!!!!!
Heys guys, i was recently asking myself the same question. I posted it on Xperia subroum, but really no good answer came up. So i'm gonna ask here.
Would be possible to disassemble this dummy phone: http://cnn.cn/shop/sonyericsson-xperia-dummy-phone-p-6107.html
I would like the use the battery cover, front buttons and "maybe" faceplate.
Thanks in advance.
Nah, I have dismantled some of the dummies in order to obtain parts.
They really are different, almost nothing can be reused

Replacing the blackstone's battery cover

I've just bought an OEM battery cover off eBay recently to replace mine that has the Telstra logo on it. The battery cover seemed fine and solid, and it looked and felt alot like the original one.
But the only problem is that it has no grill/metal netting on the hole for the speaker. Any idea how I can come about this? Or how I can remove the grill from the original cover and glue it back on the replacement?
Thanks in advance.!
I just bought a new back cover too, it is impossible to tell the difference! $24 US delivered, HTC want US$100 delivered
The speaker mesh can be very easily pushed out from the opposite side, only lite adhesive holds it in place.
It is the volume key that proves a slight challange but even that is no big deal, just a very fine flat head screw driver to pry out plastic welds by inserting the fine screw driver as close to each weld as possible so as not to break the delicate plastic.
where dit u order them??
I got mine form ebay
However someone needs to design one with these features:
Piano black style (same as phone)
Alternate colours
Perfectly aligned reset hole
Small closable door to remove SD Card
Tighter fit to prevent the horrible crackling noises (especially around the volume keys)
This would sell like hot cakes!
I just received mine from MSG Distributors NY and it did cost around $30 delivered but what a huge difference over the Telus stock cover. This one does include the mesh grill. I ordered this due to the camera bezel being scratched on my used Telus 8285.
It does NOT have the squeaks the original cover had, it's much tighter fit and sturdier too.

Thanks all. I peeled the speaker mesh with a pocket knife.
The replacement ones look and feel better, so definitely not worth a 100 bucks on an original one. Too bad the replacement one doesn't come with volume rockers as well. So again, I had to carefully take the original one off.
P/S - Bought mine from eBay..
