[Update][24-01-2010] Auto Answer Auto Speakerphone - myCar Profile - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

Hi to All,
This is my first thread on the site. Forgive me if I do anything wrong.
Introduction
I have been using the auto answer feature on my touch hd and have found it to be very useful especially when driving. However, this feature is not easily accessible when you want to toggle between on and off. I decided to come up with this application (myCar Profile) and I would like to share it with you.

This application allows auto answer for incoming calls and automatically turns speakerphone on without pressing any buttons on windows mobile professional devices. I am not trying to replace the default feature but simply making it easier to access and use the feature. I have also made it possible to use auto answer with or without a headset.
The application is not code signed therefore you have to grant access if your device is appication locked.
Tips
1) The application should be running to enable the features to work.
2) The talk after (0-30) seconds should the less than the value set for call forwading otherwise your incoming calls will go to voicemail.
3) Assign a hardware button to the application to allow easy access. (Personally I use AE Button Plus to get more button options, I dont know if there are free alternatives)
4) On exiting the program your phone settings will be retained.
FAQ
Q - I have installed myCar Profile but the app does not answer incoming calls
A - Ensure talk after (0-30) seconds is less than the value set for call forwading otherwise your incoming calls will go to voicemail. Also some lock screen software and call intercepting software may be interfering with myCar Profile. Add the app to the exclusion list or change appropriate settings such as [Don't use KeyBoard Hook = OFF in S2U2.] You may also disable offending software temporarily.
Update - 24-01-2010
MyCar Profile Version 0.6 - [Updated app to remove notification on soft key. Added new menu MINIMIZE ON LAUNCH - this menu enables the application to be minimized automatically on start up. Added new menu SAVE STATUS ON EXIT - this menu enables the application to save talk after seconds, speakerphone & auto answer status (i.e. either ON or OFF). Once saved the status will be loaded on next start up.]
Donations: I created this app for anyone who needs it free of charge. However, if you appreciate my work and would like to buy me a beer click Here. Continue to use the app freely without any obligations.
Previous Versions:
MyCar Profile Version 0.5 - [Updated app to include icon & bubble notification. Added a new menu SHOW NOTIFICATION]
MyCar Profile Version 0.4 - [Updated app to increase compatibility with other software. Added a new menu ENHANCED SPEAKERPHONE]
MyCar Profile Version 0.3 - [Updated app to allow automatic bluetooth headset detection.
MyCar Profile Version 0.2 - [Updated app to allow audio routing to bluetooth headset.]

cool app something like what i am looking for but i am seeking a app that will allow for when phone is connected via bluetooth to car which is concered "handsfree mode" making a app that would allow to select to answer call via car or phone or speaker phone of phone when phone is connected to car via bluetooth there is a switch in call menu which says turn off handsfree if some one could create a app to if user selects answer via phone or speaker phone simply turn off the switch and optionaly turning on the speaker phone (if speaker phone option is selected). is this something u could make? i have seen many post asking but no one has made it as of now

thanks for this kuda!

Thank you for trying the app. At the moment I haven't found a way to detect bluetooth headset state.

Hi Kuda
Great idea, thanks for sharing but on my device works 50%: autoanswer yes, speakerphone no... Can you do something please ?

same with tito12... autoanswer: YES, speakerphone: NO.

I will run soms tests on my Touch HD to see if the speaker is working properly!

Hi All,
I will look into the bugs later today. At first thought it might something to do with bluetooth audio routing which i have a solution. Expect a new version soon

Works as described on my Fuze w/updated stock ROM. Tried;
- auto-answer on/speakerphone on
- auto-answer on/speakerphone off
- auto-answer off/speakerphone on
- auto-answer on/speakerphone off/BT headset active
and every scenario worked as expected. Also released the process and RAM after closing .
Thanks,
JIM

Update: myCar Profile Version 0.3
Hi All,
As promised I have updated the app again to allow for automatic detection of bluetooth headsets. First post has been updated with new screenshots explaining how the app is intended to work or be used. For those having problems try latest version and report back on this thread. It would be nice if you also report which devices you are having problems or which devices the app is working perfect.
Enjoy

problem with iGO8 on
the new version works great in my polaris, wm 6.1 official rom! it's compatible with s2u2 which i'm happy about and works even if the phone is at a sleep mode. however, when my iGO8 is on, the speaker on does not work (the auto answer works though). i hope you can find a fix for this. most of the time, i use my gps while driving and i get calls quite often. it would be perfect if the speaker on works too.
thanks a lot for this great app!
one suggestion too. if you can make an icon for your app and place it on the taskbar at the top (together with the battery, signal strength, etc.) so that it tells us that it is on and running. perhaps clicking on that icon can also open it to change the setting, or quit the app.

Its working on my device and other people's devices. I am supprised that it doesn't work for you. Anyway, try the following:
1) Exit the app if its running.
2) Launch the app - don't press any buttons after after app started.
3) make a call to your phone and see if speakerphone works.
Which device is is the speakerphone failing and under what settings.
Hope this helps
Kuda

i did steps 1-3 but the speakerphone still doesn't work.
i'm using HTC Touch Viva (Opal) with WM6.5 Build 23506 (COM5).

Does not work (either Spearkerphone or AutoAnswer) on HTC Cruise with custom 6.1 ROM.
It does not autoanswer: S2U2 simply ignores MyCarProfile settings and keeps ringing until I press answer key.
Speakerphone doesn't work regardless autoanswer setting.

Do you have any other software using the speakerphone when you run run the app? I wish I could simulate the problem then I would be able to help.

Hi All,
If anyone has the same device(s) as our colleagues who are having problems can you be of assistance or can you let us know your experience with the app so that we may be able to help others or revisit the code.
Thanks,
Kuda

I have just installed S2U2 on my Touch HD to test. At first it did not work as you have reported. In order for it to work I set the following setting in S2U2 Settings:
Don't use KeyBoard Hook = OFF
This is because myCar Profile uses keyboard hook.

Awaiting your suggestions

I'm just finishing the next version of MY|PHONE|PROFILES.
http://www.geocities.com/myppcpe2003/
(on the bottom of the page there are screenshots of the upcoming version)
Beside the main purpose of this program - to change the Phone Profile in the one touch of the screen - I built there a few requested tweaks of PPC Phone Edition.
Like: clearing the database leak hotfix, change the low battery warning, lock all hardware keys except the power, wake-up the screen when new SMS message arrived, longer time of vibrating, and more. See the screenshots I will update daily.
Before I close the project, I'm awaiting your next suggestions, what others fixes to build in (only specified for PPC Phone Edition devices).

Ps. Please do not write "ring on speaker when headphone is connected". This is a hardware electrical switcher when you plug-in the headphone to cut-off the speaker part. No way to overwrite the speaker to play in this moment, as I understand.

Please make these tweaks registry-controlable, so I can set which ones to use from the ROMkitchen... Could you then also create reg-settings which would cause your program to set for 'use large keys/gestures' (my pref..), and menu animation ? (WM2003 resets these reg values at cold-boot...

No, not true. I believe this is software setteable. (I need to figure this one out for my day-job also, so would appreciate pointers...)
What about beta versions?

[FIXED] VAlert 1.21 - Customize vibration pattern

VAlert
Customize vibration on phone ring
This small program allows customizing vibration incoming call alerts.
Windows based phones vibrate either before the ring or constantly during the ring.
Having a short ringtone can possibly solve this problem, but with long mp3 ringtone the phone will constantly vibrate during the ring.
This program will enable Windows Mobile phones to produce short vibrations when the phone rings.
Vibration patterns can be easily changed by the user.
Possibly to match vibration patterns to the ringtone, so the phone will vibrate in a rhythm.
Very low (~4K) memory usage
This software is a freeware.
How to use
1. Install the CAB
2. Enjoy the program with default settings
3. The program is hidden by default. To display program window (if needed), run the program again
7. In Phone->Options make sure ring type is Vibrate and Ring
4. Edit script.txt to change vibration pattern. Every line in the file is a pair of vibration length and note pause
5. From the program window run Menu->Test to test the created pattern
6. Perform Menu->Hide to hide program window
What's new:
- More devices support, including non-HTC
- The installer executes the program upon installation (no soft reset required)
- No vibration on waiting call
- Support for incoming call ring mute (stop vibration)
- Silent start
- Even lower memory footprint - ~4K on standby (was 11K before)
sounds cool
gunna try now
you should make it so you tap the screen to show when u want it to vibrate instead of editing the .txt file
Edit: Great app but confusing to change the pattern
Edit2: lol doesnt seem to work on my vogue when i go to phone->options and press play its just a long vibrate
Ohh man i was about to post a thread on something like this. Thank you so much for making this!
Sounds nice. Will try it out. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing sir!
to save people the bother of working it out themselves, and to get everyone started...
here's my version of the Nokia classic message vibration
i can't hum it, so you'll need to try it, i guess!
Edit : Oh, by the way... is it possible to do something like this for recieving SMS / MMS / Email, or is that a different process altogether?

Yeah, that's what I wanted to ask too! Would be awesome, would be a very useful app, thanks. And yup, maybe an easier way to edit vibrates would be nice. However, it's cool now, for a version 1.
Future versions
Post your suggestions. I am making a list of changes for the next version.
Suggestions :
- a settings UI on the device (instead of having to pull the txt file off to PC and edit and then put back in on device)
- ability to change between multiple vibrate scripts (via drop-down menu or list?)
- if possible (?) ability to use vibrate scripts for SMS / MMS / Email / Other alerts
- vibe scripts that match pattern with the actual ring / message tone would be VERY cool
excellent little program, thanks a lot for the effort
if the other message alerts can be changed from within this (or even just another separate small app) it's just what i'm looking for!
and please can other people post their script efforts, it'd be good to have several pre-sets to start out with.
there might be a slight bug in this
a few calls have come through recently, the vibrate kicks in itself and the ringtone does not play for about 10 seconds or so.
also the programmed pattern seems distorted.
it might just be my device, as i'm noticing that S2U2's full screen call ID has been struggling to kick in when a call comes in these days since i started using Manilla2D as well.
it might be that the device is struggling to find the ID picture and the ringtone and the vibrate pattern at the same time, all the while trying to run M2D.
i'd check if it works correctly without all these extras running, but M2D and S2U2 are pretty much essentials for me these days.
anyone else care to help?

Do you have this problem with all calls or just some?
What do you mean by distorted pattern?
Does this problem happens when VAlert is disabled?
Thanks works great on my prophet with 6.1

That's not a delay. By default (there is a registry setting to change it) the ring is delayed by 2 seconds. VAlert does not have that delay, so it will always start vibrating 2 seconds before the ring.
Nice tool... works goodm i like it!!!

[App] [01/26/2009] TouchResponse 0.3.2 - Vibrate on touch

01/26/09 - This is just a minor update to fix some issues and add a couple small features.
Feel free to give comments or ask questions.
Thanks!
This program is a touch driver to handle the touchscreen presses and vibration. A settings program exists to configure how the vibration works.
Since this is a touch driver, there is no program you need to run to start it.
It has been tested on an HTC Touch and HTC Touch Pro for several days with several stability issues corrected. I am only releasing this now that I feel comfortable that you will experience no major issues. However, I cannot guarantee that it will work flawless for you. I cannot be held responsible for any loss of data or time you may experience while using this.
If you are experiencing problems after installation, please let me know so I can fix these issues.
Features
Global enable/disable option
Vibrate on touch/release
Variable duration of vibrate
Disable during Phone Call option
Disable when device is silent
Disable when device is locked
Disable when stylus is out (for devices that support this option)
Enabled for On-Screen Keyboard only (Temporary option until full include/exclude list is incorporated)
Settings Program->Settings->System->TouchResponse Settings
AppToDate support
Coming Soon
Include/Exclude list for vibration
Different vibration patterns
Resolve any software conflicts
Vibration tweaks
Sound on touch
Vibrate on hardware button press
Multi-language support in Settings program
I'm open to suggestions...
Known Issues
May or may not play well with touchflo/ftouchsl. If TouchResponse isn't working for you, try disabling those if they are enabled.
Disable when device is silent may not work on some devices. Let me know what kind of device you have if this is the case for you.

Questions and Answers
Q. How to I change the settings?
A. Start->Settings->System->TouchResponse Settings
Q. Why do I not see the settings program?
A. For some phones, the settings program does not appear in the control panel. Until I figure out a fix, you can run the program by going to \windows\TouchResponseSettings.cpl
Q. Why is it not vibrating when I touch the screen?
A. Go to the Device tab in TouchResponse Settings. It will display information about your device. If it says to select your vibrate id then find the one that causes the vibrate to work. Send me a PM with the name of your device model along with the vibrate id that works for you and I will incorporate that into future releases.
Q. Will this drain my battery life?
A. I don't have any statistics to show the before and after battery usage. However, I personally have not experienced any significant increase in battery usage. It all depends on how long the vibrate duration is and how often you touch the screen.
Q. Why does the vibrate last longer than it's supposed to sometimes?
A. This should hopefully be resolved as of version .02.2. If you experience this after this version, please let me know when it happens and how often.
Q. Why is the vibration always the same duration no matter what the settings are set at?
A. Use a registry editor to go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>OEM>VIB and set STRENGTH_LOW to 0. Thanks to agdaniels for pointing this out.
Please don't post this cab on any other site. Let's keep all discussion here. I appreciate your cooperation.
Thank you for your support!
Ill try it and let ya know how it compares
Nice idea, thanks for sharing.
I read about a phone (I think it was LG Incite?) where some people complained about vibrating even when entering text with the soft-keyboard.
Could you give us an option to dis-/enable vibrating when entering text ? Maybe there´s an event you can use when the soft-keyboard flips up...dunno

Martin

Since the driver has first crack at the touch event, I should be able to determine which window is being touched and either vibrate/not-vibrate depending on how it's configured. For example, I can see that the SIP is being touched and not vibrate. I'll add that to the list, Thanks!
Just as Martin said.
When typng on the on screen keyboard. Vibrate on every button of the keyboard we pressing. That would be awesome.
Gonna test this on the X1i
It works great on my HTC touch PRO.
Yea Man !!
I love this Apps !!!
Thanks so much
all feature Works like a charm in my Kaiser (HTC TyTN II)
Well I guess I will put my suggestion here as I did with the other 2 programs like it. Would you consider creating a setting to were it is only active on SIP Keyboard AND when SIP keyboard is active I have choice between a vibration or a sound or both?
I know I can get a sound by going to the general settings of winmo but when it is on it makes a noise for all screen taps...annoying!!

Since this is a similar comment among everyone I will focus on this next. Thanks everyone for your feedback!
how about different types and lengths of viberations like the old motos used to have? dash-dash-dash-buzzz haha
maybe different intensities if possible?
I've always wanted 'heptic feedback' on my KS20 but non works for me. I've tried Heptick Feedback, Vibration Feedback and now TouchResponse, none work for KS20. Duh....
Can these options be added?
1. Not to vibrate when on silent?
2. Change buzz length (make it shorter/less intense)
3. An "use only when SIP activated" option.

You may have tried something similar with the other programs you have tried, but you can try changing the Led Id in the Settings program under the Advanced tab. Be sure to press ok to make the settings to into effect. Hopefully it is just a case where the KS20 doesn't use the default Led Id for vibrate.

1. Yes, this is something I want to add! It's sometimes hard to go unnoticed when I use my phone in meetings at work when the vibration is loud.
2. Did you see the Settings program in the System tab of the "Control Panel"? Or do you mean a something like a longer buzz but less intense?
2. I'm going to be focusing on that with an include/exclude option next.
Thanks for your feedback!

Hey hey, it works for KS20 for the first time!!!!
I set the LED from 0 to 3 and hey, 3 works.
0 - LED displays green
1 - LED displays red
2 - LED displays blue
3 - it worked!
Thank you soo much! I gotta spread this on the KS20 thread because a lot of KS20 users are wanting this like me. I'll link them here.
very good work.
i have mine set to 25ms and the vibrate is a perfect length and silentness.
i agree on only sip active and/or blacklist
Just want to echo what's already said. What most ideally want is for vibration to be active ONLY on keyboard when text entering and to be as brief a buzz as possible. Some owners type very fast and we want the buzz to keep up and not still lag on the previous tap while tapping on the next key. It has to be super quick and not miss a key press when typing quickly. Thanks!
Ok, found the settings app, my bad
The other two requests would be awesome if they were to be fulfilled!

[TASKER] Share your best Tasker profiles!

I noticed that other subforums already have this thread. Why not in Note 2 subforum?
Please share your Tasker profiles.
I have a bunch of profiles to:
- adjust screen brightness depending on time of day and on app loaded / maximum brightness when phone is ringing;
- launch music app and set media volume to 11 when headset is plugged (my way around page buddy -- I'm using Nova Launcher so no page buddy...);
- silence my phone during working hours and if I am within the office vicinity;
- maximum volume when Google Now is launched;
- various connection profiles (turn off mobile data / wifi after certain period when display is turned off; turn on airplane mode at 10% battery level; turn off mobile data while playing most games; etc.)
Sorry I'm sharing in paragraph form instead of (pseudo-)code but these profiles are simple enough to be understood without the pseudo- so...
I'd love to learn from the Tasker experts here. Please, do share your profiles.
Mine:
* Turn on wifi when around home/work area (based on net loc) and turn off when away. Optionally turn off keyguard as a matter of convenience.
* Log when calls/sms's are received/sent and add Google Calendar entry with details. Useful for missed calls or reading SMS's when don't have phone.
* When in car (via NFC), turn off Wifi, turn on Bluetooth/pair, media volume up, launch music app, log location, turn off keyguard and add Google Calendar entry. Reverse when tagging out of car.
* When sleeping (via NFC), turn on airplane mode, notifications silent, punch in to sleeping app (Sleepbot). Reverse when tagging out when waking up.
There's one which I've tried from profiles and the wiki but doesn't seem to work - which is to disable Wifi / Bluetooth when not connected/not in use.
- wait for 2 seconds after headphones are connected, then turn media volume to full (I rarely use headphones but I connect my phone to my car stereo aux often to listen to podcasts); the 2 second wait is necessary because the phone itself turns the volume down when you connect the headset
- when connected to home wifi, disable the pattern lock and say "phone unlocked" in a robot voice lock once wifi disconnects, say “phone locked"
- set display rotation to auto when certain apps are on (cf. s note), turn off on exit
- start a timer when a certain nfc tag is read, say "starting tea timer", after four minutes say "green tea should be ready now", after eight minutes say "herbal tea should be ready now"; in British English with robot voice effect, of course
I also have some nfc tags that set different profiles (morning/night, leave home & come back, enter/exit car, silent mode on/off)
Disconnect mobile data when on WiFi.
Data off and sporadically on after screen off.
No cell network voice announcement.
Cell network resume voice announcement.
Sync data on WiFi.
Sync off after turning off WiFi.
All volumes 90% at 7am with voice announcement.

I just read your post's saying NFC and was seriously confused. After doing a little research, I'm now in shock and awe that I didn't know about this before. I'm assuming from what I read you guys bought NFC tags and used some tasker magic with 'em I noticed there's like a thousand different types types of tags, stickers, metallic stickers, etc. What ones did you guys get, and really what would be the cheapest route to go that would be able to handle activating a tasker profile. Thanks in advance, you'll just made my day with this amazing revelation

Phone says "missed call" at preset interval for 30 min
Phone says "battery full" when charged
Phone says "charging" when plugged in
I've setup a profile where it puts the phone in vibrate mode while at work (using cell tower) but I can't figure out how to get it back to the original state Sound with Vibrate when I exit that cell tower's range? It goes back to sound but not sound and vibrate. I'm sure I'm missing something, any guidance would greatly be appreciated.
Could a profile be made for when using Gtasks app and checking a task as "Completed" it creates a calendar entry with time for when that task was completed? Any guidance would greatly be appreciated.

I have mine set to disable my lockscreen pin when I'm connected to my home wifi connection and enable it again once I disconnect, turn 3g off when connected to wifi and on when disconnected, turn GPS off when I launch Facebook since it always tries to get a lock and turn it on again when I leave facebook, and I have it set to turn auto rotate on when I launch certain apps.

Hi guys,
I'm going to guide you!
This tutorial is making your phone talk when connecting a power source.
Ready?
Open Tasker:
Go to profiles tab (if you aren't already)
Create a new profile
Choose "state"
Click on "Power
Click on "Power" again
Click on "any" (choose a state when you
want your phone talks)
Press your backbutton
A new window will pop out
Create a new task
Click on "new task"
Enter a name (you don't have to)
Click on the big "+" button
Click on "misc"
Click on "say"
Click into the area which says "text"
Type the phrase you want your phone says
when plugging in a power source you
selected earlier.
Press your backbutton and try out your
freshly made profile.
Enjoy!

[TASKER] Share your best Tasker profiles!

Saw a similar thread for Note II and thought it would be great to see what's going on here. I'm still trying to figure Tasker out but I know its powers are awesome. I learn by seeing and doing. Hope to see some great examples. Thanks!

Here are my current tasker profiles.
First two turn data on or off if screen on or off.
Next one lowers cpu and governor with screen off.
Next three adjust cpu and governor based on battery level
Last one jacks up everything while plugged in to a power source.

Nice. I love BEAST MODE. I'm trying to learn Tasker without much success so far.
I think I put this thread in the wrong place. Apologies.

Well I'm sure there isn't anything wrong with it being here. I know a bit about Tasker, but by no means am I an expert. If you have any specific questions though, I may be able to help out.

That's a worthwhile script. I need to make a couple myself.

Hello, everybody.I'm new here. And there are always something wrong with my Samsung mobile.I hope we will have a good time here.
My profiles are all time based. almost all based around my workday.
Ex. After 10pm until 8am, I have all sounds and alerts off except for ringer.
During day, I use WIFI and BT, normal sounds
On weekends I only use WIFI, but no BT no GPS and different ringtones.
When on power (AC) I have all on WIFI, BT, GPS and a brighter screen.
and I have a group of tasker profiles for my Pebble smartwatch.
I have an On Call profile that has special alerting triggered that takes priority over other things based on calendar info.
Tasker is what you make it. It's well worth learning to use as you can automate most things.

Hey! The forum and all the help is amazing.
I am glad you started this thread. Tasker is not entirely simple to use when setting up complicated functions and my noobness only bought it yesterday so I could use the help along with a few others I am sure.
Thanks for prior info & in advance.

Anyone here willing to help me learn tasker. . I just can't seem to figure anything out.

1) I made a script that puts my phone on silent when it's face down.
2)I have another one that automatically opens google music when I use my headphones.
3) I also have a profile that takes pics when I flick my phone like on the Motorola X

Mind sharing that last one?
Looking to make a TASKER profile
alright since this is kinda a thread that might answer this question, I need some info, so I'll ask if somebody can help me with setting up the following.
I need a profile setup for Tasker that sets my wallpaper based on whether I'm at work or not based off of whether or not there's a WORK event on my calendar and what time that event happens. (I work at a Sprint store and I need to make sure that my wallpaper is more "customer friendly" during my shifts and can go back to what I want it to be when not.)
If anybody can give me some pointers as to how to do this, I'd be your friend for life. Or at least until you can't answer a question, whichever comes first.
Since someone asked me to share my flick phone to take a picture (like moto x) profile you have to adjust sensitivity to your preference

I have a few pretty simple tasks setup:
Profiles:
Night Mode
Triggers: power AC , time: 23:45 - 7am connected to home wifi
entry task: Night Mode ( SMS Backup, Silent Mode, Lampshade sunset,Auto Brightness Off, Display Level 0)
Description:Backup all new SMS using smsbackup+ perform a "sunset" using the Philips Hue lightbulbs I have in the bedroom and put the screen brightness to extremely dim.
exit task: Night Mode end ( auto brightness and silent mode set to off)
Morning Sunrise
Triggers: Alarm Done, connected to home wifi, time 6am - 11am
entry Task: Sun Rise (lampshade sunrise)
description: when a phone alarm goes off first thing in the morning whilst at home perform a "sunrise" effect with the Philips Hue lightbulbs in the bedroom.
Silent In Lectures
Triggers: calendar entry at my university address.
Entry Task: Silent Mode On
Exit Task: Silent Mode off
planning on adding a few more useful things, but the ones that I have seem quite nice.
I have a ton of tasker tasks setup mostly having to do with the lights in my house (all with voice commands, ex: turn on christmas lights, turn off kitchen light, etc), but some others are to directly call contacts without waiting for google to confirm who the contact is and so on and so forth, start playing any random netflix video i'd like to watch with voice command, start the sonos sound system in my house with voice command, make my phone ring when i lose it by sending a text containing a certain string of text from any other device/phone, turning my hotspot on automatically when connected to the bluetooth in my car, when disconnecting the bluetooth it auto shuts off the hotspot, switching my notifications on my smartwatch on when a certain string of text is sent to the phone.
On my tablet that i have as my entertainment system in my car i have tasker as well and as soon as it connects to the hotspot from my phone it automatically starts recording my drive with video, than opens google music and starts playing my music, than opens waze. When the wifi connection to my phones hotspot is gone it turns everything off on the tablet and just sends it back to the homescreen.
One task im still trying to get going is the ability to turn on and off the television which i've seen before just cannot seem to find the module i need to do it, since i dont want to use the same i'd use for lamps afraid it will burn out the tv and not work properly.
I just started playing around with tasker yesterday. Coming from Llama, I found that it takes longer to learn tasker but the rewards were so much greater. Here are two profiles that might be useful for others too.
The first one is to reject a call from my gf and create a button on the screen so I can call her back on my unlimited plan.
I included a vibration pattern there so I can get some sort of alert going on after the incoming call is rejected. You can of course add a ringtone there as well.
use a phone ring event to trigger following task:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tbgjtewdebdnitn/Ring_Back_DM.tsk.xml
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vkxxbpjqoc07uiv/Call_Dm.scn.xml
The first file is the task, the second one is the scene that creates the button to call back. You will need to edit that 2nd file to add your own number to call, just look for ###replace### in that file.
To dismiss the button without calling back, just tap and hold it.
Another task I made after I saw somebody mentioned about displaying current address in Dashclock. This one involves google map geocode api and a little javascript.
To conserve battery, this only shows you a rough address. If you need accuracy, you can add a action at the start to turn on GPS for say 30-60 seconds.
Also If you want to use the address somewhere else instead of showing up in Dashclock, just replace the last action with your own. BTW, you need to install Dashclock tasker extension before running this task(if you're keeping the last action).
Use a cell ID variable set event to trigger this task:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/15fsvwhecb83utz/Current_Address.tsk.xml
