Phone: LG P500h - ANDROID v 2.2.1 buildnumber FRG83.
Country: Brazil
Anyway, what I know is that i have to downgrade it to 2.2 in order to be able to root. I've looked through a bunch of tutorials on a bunch of websites but there are a few questions i have about the process that isn't answered anywhere i've looked.
Apparently downgrading requires me to get a stock ROM from LG, there is a topic here for that but it does not have the right ROM for my country, i tried a couple codes but they all got me 404.
Can I just flash any standard ROM from, US maybe, will it work?
And if yes, how do I flash it? Apparently you can do that by booting into recovery mode, but to get there you need it to be rooted which I can't do.
I've read about KDZ and downloaded that but... it crashes a lot in my PC (whenever i try the Read Device) it gives me error and closes the program (windows program not responding dialog).
I'm afraid it might crash in the middle of it if i try flashing and that would brick my device.
Is there a simple way to flash a new ROM? Is that the first thing I have to do in order to get a custom ROM say Ubuntdroid? It says I need a new recovery... but for that I need to downgrade first? It's a lot to do... and I don't really get the order in which I should do it all in...
Can somebody post me a little "do this, then do that, then finally do that" so that I can understand it all finally?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for long post, was trying to be as informative as possible.
This shows what happens when I try reading the phone on KDZ... also a little part showing that I got my device to be recognized by windows...
also disabled the LGE modem on device manager, read that if I don't it'll get bricked.
Well it won't let me link the image so... just paste the name together.

1. Find a suitable v2.2 stock ROM for flashing (link)
2. Use KDZ to flash it (I am not aware of another tool capable of doing that). Try doing that on a PC running Windows XP (important - that's where you're stuck now and I guess you're using Windows 7).
3. Root your phone - search for "z4root" on Market, install it.
4. Install Custom recovery, which will replace your current (stock) recovery mode (link - you may need to create an account on another forum in order to download).
5. Using Custom recovery you can now install any custom ROM and create nandroid backups to restore your phone to a certain (working) state.
You will have to use KDZ again if you ever want to flash a stock ROM, also losing the custom recovery. But you will have no reason to do that, except if you need to take your phone to some warranty repairs.
Good luck!
NEW PROBLEM: About step 1... i finally found a way to get my country's rom, but... it's.. the same thats on my device right now, it says V10a_02 and thats the same on my phone (the kdz read phone tells me that) so... won't I just be flashing the same 2.2.1 again?
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500H/ABRABK/V10A_02/V10A_02.kdz <---- the rom the topic tells me to get.
How do I know what version of android is in that rom? and if i can't, can you link me to a rom that does?
I found one from another country that the guy said is 2.2... but... will it work if i flash that one? does it HAVE to be for my country? also my model is p500h (the h) is it different from the p500 (different as in flashing p500 without h roms on it will kill it?)
As for flashing it...
I think maybe a computer with win xp will do the trick for kdz.
i've found this post today:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944881
is it better to use that than kdz? theres no replies on topic saying "hey it worked" so i'm a little worried, but apart from a few errors it seems to work on my win 7....
i guess the reply would be "i only know kdz, do it with kdz" but i thought i might ask...
Indeed, I have not tried that method and therefore I can't recommend it. At least KDZ is successfully tested. If you are patient enough to wait for some replies either here or in that topic, you may find out if it works. I would recommend it only if you have no other choice, like if you're unable to try KDZ on an XP machine.
In the mean time, I remembered that a newer version of Custom recovery is available (v1.2) - here. But you still need to download a file and read the tutorial from that other forum I mentioned in the previous post.
what about the first part of the post? i think i might have added that after you replied i don't know... asking about the rom i found if it isn't the same i have on my phone. and asking if i can just add another country's one...

First backup your data, then download a factory ROM, it doesn't matter which version u download, what matters is the version. Make sure that it's 2.2 and not 2.2.1 or 2.2.2. Follow all the below steps without skippin any, no matter how simple or stupid they are.
Link for shipped ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479
Now download KDZ updater and uncompress it
http://www.4shared.com/file/UleS4dP3/KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.html
Install msxml.msi from the uncompressed directory
Charge your battery to almost full state (I'm not sure, but it can be reason if phone doesn't start)
Turn phone off somehow (remove battery etc.)
Install drivers properly
Get rid of all usb drivers like Nokia, microsoft visual ++ run time environments
Install the LG drivers by selecting the update manager from the lg site
Disable LGE Virtual Modem. In your Windows operating system, go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Modems > Right click on LGE Virtual Modem and click Disable.
Press and keep pressed "Volume up"+"Return" and connect USB cable to phone
Yellow screen with text emergency mode should appeared
Shake the handset (I know, it sounds ... strange, but it helps for ones, so... why don't try it?) UPDATE: Read some quotes on bottom.
Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe (Has administrator).
Select Type : 3GQCT (I have one report that CDMA mod works too)
Select PhoneMode : DIAG (in case of fail try EMERGENCY, and as last chance use CS_EMERGENCY)
I Recommend do not switch phone off. There was some people, which done it and after they was not be able to turn it on again. If flashing failed, just select some another mode and try it again, again, try shake/connect disconnect, again, again....
In KDZ file : Choose the ROM file you downloaded in the first step
Press Launch software update
Shake the handset (I know, it sounds ... strange, but it helps for ones, so... why don't try it?) UPDATE: Read some quotes on bottom.
Now Root it via Z4root - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
Then install custom recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844483
Then download n flash any ROM of your choice, I wud sugget install Void or LOL.
Edit :- By the time I replied, many have already replied. Anyways you can check my reply too :-D
Mithun.
"it doesn't matter which version u download, what matters is the version."
does that mean it doesn't matter what country or operator the rom is for, as long as it is android version 2.2?
i have one from portugal (not my country) and that one is made for P500 mine is P500H... if that makes a difference i don't know, but i do know that rom is android 2.2. can i flash that one?
i also have one that i got from that topic following the instructions of putting my serial number, it linked me to a rom V10A_02... on KDZ when i try to read my device it says i have V10A_02 too. isn't that the same one i have now? with android 2.2.1? if it is it's very pointless to flash the same rom already in it.
any way to check?
because that is my last doubt ;p

Yes.... you can choose any country. I tried the Australian version. Use the below one http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/AAUSBK/V10a_00/V10A_00.kdz

As far as my knowledge goes, the LG P500h you have is the same phone as the P500, only branded for Telus. The hardware should be identical, therefore you may use any ROM designed for the P500 family.
The only thing you may miss if you install a ROM not customized for a Brasil (or South America) network operator is the internet acces point name, thus rendering your phone unable to acces the internet trough its data service connection, but only trough WiFi. Nevertheless, the phone's APN can be configured manually, all you need are the correct settings from your mobile operator and you're good to go.
Ok since you guys told me i can go ahead and flash any country ROM i just did and now my device burst into flames and then the flames consumed my apartment.
ok, not. it worked too well actually, i did the kdz procedure on my win 7 anyway, despite the errors when reading device info, and it took like, 1 minute, rebooted, took like 2 minutes on the android screen then it came back, with all my data still there... i thought it didn't do anything but... its now version 2.2
i tried z4root, worked ... got the superuser app and.... i'm happy ^^ thaaaanks!
anyway about the custom recovery thing..
i'm going to install the one in that post you gave me...
but i read something about the best one being clockwork something...
shouldn't i go ahead and install that one?
or can i do everything i need with this one you guys linked?

Glad that it worked Install the Amon_RA's recovery!!! Many ROM's for OO won't support clock work I suppose. Amon RA's recovery is neat, I've been using that from the time I had an HTC tattoo.
For your Custom Recovery.... http://androidforums.com/getitnowma...ry-optimus-one-p500-thunderg.html#post1896517

You can do anything you need with ThunderG. Now that version 1.2 supports backup and restore of ext4 partitons (a feature you don't need if you don't plan on installing a custom ROM... but you will, eventually ), it is complete.
Moreover, in ClockworkMod's first topic says: "This recovery will not allow you to flash every ZIP file". ThunderG does, if you choose to allow flashing of unsigned zip files. Sometimes this is useful.
Peeeeeerfect
Recovery installed, LOL ROM installed, all fast smooth and error-free.
no more screen touch lag, it's soooooo much faster now, overclocked, i have yet to test my emulators but i can only guess they're gonna be at least 150% better lol.
thank you all very much for taking the time to help me ^^
ONE LAST QUESTION: I PLAN ON BUYING A NEW SD CARD, JUST PLUG IT IN AND IT'LL FORMAT THEN CREATE THE NEEDED FILES THEN I INSTALL STUFF BACK ON IT, SIMPLE AS THAT?
Simple as that =D
Although there are some criteria with the sd card or you'll get unmounting problems.
Use a class 4 or higher card
format with fat32
I've never officially tried this method but its apparently supposed to help
allocation unit size: 64kb when you're formatting

So, how does it goes?!
I´m brazilian too, got a brand new LG Optimus One from ViVo, and a want to know if you´re having any troubles with conections, calls, internet, 3G etc.
OK, id did the flash
I´m afraid that if flash any custom rom, it will break or cause any misfuncition of the 3g service.
Any idea?!
== Updated
Ok, I´ve flashd it with KDZ and the log show´s thats all ok
"14:34:45 : ===FINISHED=== "
BUt its taking like FOREVER to start... almost 30min on android screen. Is this normal?! Should i restart the phone?!
leave it some more time , try shaking it ...
shake trick sometimes helps
Help please..
I did as instructed in the step to step procedures. kdz posted finished but my phone is still at the yellow screen..i did shaking but nothing happens..Is this normal?..SHould i wait..
Hi guys,
I bought an LGP500 yesterday and I'm already messing with it *ofcourse* I'm trying to root the device and install some ROM's. At the moment I'm on Android 2.2.2 (V10h), so no rooting is possible (yet).
I figured out I have to flash back to the original ROM, and then start flashing to a prefered ROM, but I can't find an original ROM from Belgium in the list The_ERROR provided.
Could I just take another original ROM, fe. the one from the United Kingdom, root the device, flash another ROM and still have the possibility to have my Android phone in dutch language, or do the custom ROM's only support the English language?
Thanks in advance!
Hmm, after some reading I think it should be possible since most custom ROM's are stripped from the European one..
Can someone still confirm this?
Have flashed my phone to the 10a UK version, but I get an android.process.acore error the whole time and I'm unable to download anything of the market (I need ASTRO file manager so I can run z4root).
Any tips?
Hi,
I also just bought P500; I am wondering since you flashed a completely different ROM, what are the dangers? I cannot find my original ROM so I was wondering if I will brick my phone if I just use another one.
Well, I checked what software version my phone had (10h after the LG update) before the flash, and I found an according european original firmware 10h KDZ, so it's kindah my backup I guess. If anything goes wrong, I just flash my phone back to the 10h
I think there are no real dangers here, only not all languages are supported. I'm not sure though

1st install z4root then root ur phn after rooting i will tell u what to do...go ahead
The problem I have is installed z4root. The only way I know how to install an app from the SDcard is through ASTRO file manager, but somehow I can't download any apps from the market after the flash
Is there any other way I can install an apk from my SDcard (without root)?

Aha, I installed another original ROM (10a EUROPE), and I still got the same problem.
But I tried a reset (or how do you call that) by pressing POWER + VOL_DOWN + HOME, and my 10a was installed succesfully, with everything working like a charm.
Now I can root and flash to custom ROM's Yay!
If anyone else has problems, I'm glad to help you guys out.
After you flash your device down to 2.2, from 2.2.1, is it possible to go back to your original 2.2.1 somehow? is there a way to back this up before flashing to the original 2.2?
^^ no. nandroid backup is possible but only with 2.2 as it needs root & custom recovery.
Yes, you can find the original ROM's here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875881
I'm not sure which version represents 2.2.1 but I think it was 10c.. not sure though
I'm sure about 10a being 2.2 and 10h being 2.2.2
Good luck
should i install 2.2.2 for my phone ?
now using 2.2.1,maybe want to reinstall the rom again
coz my phone keep hang, example switch on phone hang, open an application and jump to homescreen and other else
and can i know the country code for malaysia ?
i can't find it at all
If you only want to update your phone (without using custom ROM's), you can just use the LGMobile update to flash your phone to the newest version
hi guys.
i tried to update my LG Optimus one (p500) with pc suite iv and the lg tool but both say im up to date. im on firmware 10a...
now i want to go to 2.2.2 and it seems i cant via that method. i read the other methods by manully upgrading and down grading firmware. im on MTN network here and i heard that in order to update my firmware, my network needs to allow it. ok so in africa everything moves at a very slow speed... riding a elephant to work is very slow pace .
so what i want to know is if i do this manual firmware update will it cause me problems? and is the roms and kernels region based... in other words will it effect my simcard and network ect.?
im rooted with Z4root and i got thunberg recovery + back up.
on the backup... i cant do back up of the sd-ext ... i presume its because i have not done a partition of my sdcard... is this correct... all others are backed up.
i also cant seem to get onto my sdcard via this recovery. it picks up my device but not my sd card. so if something goes wrong i can get onto my sdcard via recovery... SCREWED
i got windows xp service pack 3 and mac probook. i have the lg mobile drivers installed on the xp system.
i hope that im clear on what i need. id really be great full if someone could help me..
anyone?

Dear i am really sorry to say that most of the things i am not able to understand. What i understood is
1) you want to change Rom (upgrade or downgrade).
2) Your SD card is not detecting in recovery.
What are the queries you have
3) GSM will work or not as you have heard it should be country specific.
Ok now here are the answer.
1) For downgrading the ROM, you can downgrade and upgrade any official ROM via KDZ updater. Here is the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883314
2) It may be something went wrong. Just restart your phone and have factory reset it may be solve your problem.
3) Yes you have heard it right. But that is only for 2.3.3. In case of 2.2 we have globe release so you can downgrade it without having any GSM issue.
From next time be precise so that people can understand what is the exact problem you are facing. If you have any query you can ask. Members will defiantly help you out.

ok so this is my phone at the moment...
p500 stock firmware 10a
rooted with Z4root
my recovery: recovery-RA-thunderg-2.2.1-GNM
i have not partitioned my SDcard
using super manager and file expert as my explorer
have titanium backup and backed everything up.
what did i do so far:
i deleted all the useless app that come stock.
what do i want to do:
1: i want to try different roms and kernels
2: i want to make sure that my nandbackup is done correctly
3: i want to know if all the roms and kernels will work in my region (south africa) even though my service provider (MTN) has not allowed any updates. so can i install a 2.2.2 version rom and will still be able to use is in my country
my Q? :
1: do i need to update my firmware to 2.2.2 if the kernel or rom is based on that firmware 2.2.2( or what ever version). or does the roms come with that firmware and if i install that rom wil my firmware be at what ever version the rom is?
2: i backed up everything i could. but when i tried to backup my sd-ext it says "something went wrong, check log". so is this because i did not partition my SDcard yet?
on the SDcard not picking up... ONLY!!! when I'm in my recovery (recovery-RA-thunderg-2.2.1-GNM), when i select usb mode in my recovery then it enables it but my pc does not pick it up as mass storage, so i cant copy over any files while in recovery mode. what must i do?
3:can i install any roms even if MTN has not enabled firmware 2.2.2
sorry for the long post
hope im more clear now
1.no you dont have to upgrade or downgrade...just flash the rom of your choice..
2.flash a new recovery and try...
3.you can use any rom anywhere .....what has mtn got to do with the phones firmware...is yours a cdma phone??

Good dear this time you are almost on trac.
1)first of all you can flash Mik 2.3.4 rom with Franco kernel v18 find it on rom dev section.
2) it doesn't matter most. You can have contact backup on gmail server and backup your sms from any sms backup apps.
3) mike and andy from will work.try those.
1) every rom comes with kernel (firmware). You can simply flash rom and you done. Like if you are flashing Mik rom just flash zip file from recovery and you are ready to roll
2. You can ship this part.
3. this is bit controversial. official rom will work but may be without GSM. But you can flash mike and andy rom. It will work 100%..

3. this is bit controversial. official rom will work but may be without GSM. But you can flash mike and andy rom. It will work 100%..

1) ill try that rom
2) everyone seems to say back up 1st.. so i did but as i say i cant back up sd-ext... so is this just if i have partitioned?
and how can i fix the fact that i cant get onto my SDcard when in recovery... must i use clock works instead?
are you saying i must not back up?
hehehe
Look, your operator has better things to do than implement FW version checking. GSM is a standard stuff, either the phone talks to BTS or does not.
try clockwork....your 3rd question is answered above
Hello
I recently got a HTC Desire X (for my girlfriend). It was bought in Germany and as far as I can tell it's loaded with a region specific software version, only supporting a handful of languages.
The one that's missing and we'd like to have is Dutch.
Is there an official HTC factory rom (or whatever it's called) with Dutch language ?
I believe the stock ROMs by hasoon2000 have all the languages enabled.
Thank you. I guess this is a relevant topic to start with ?

Yes.
Well, I went through that topic and a few others. Still a lot I need to learn. But I guess best school is to just go for it
However, before I venture into flashing, I'd like some "peace of mind" advice first:
- can I take a complete backup of the current software/rom (not talking about settings of photo's) ?
- can I restore that backup in case I mess up ? Would be a shame to end up with a bricked phone...

Yes you can take the backup of ur current rom by cwm recovery and restore them too. But u have to choose recovery wisely as I used this one

I feel such a noob, but right now I can't see the forest through the trees: rom, ruu, rooting, (de)odexed, fastboot ... Is it my lack of intelligence or are the tutorials just not clear enough ?
I guess you are refering to ClockWorkMod ROM Manager for backing up and recovery, right ? And TWRP is an alternative app to do the same ?
Both are apps that run on the device itself, afaik. But it would make more sense to me to recover using a pc application and have the backup's stored separatly. Does that exist ?

OK, I'll just write a book.
So, a recovery is a piece of software that you can run before Android boots up. With a recovery made by users of XDA or any other developer, you can flash custom ROMs. Custom ROMs are firmwares made by developers on XDA. The ROM you found can be flashed through a custom recovery. Flashing is rewriting a partition on your device. Partitions are recovery, data, system... My recommendation is to flash TWRP because it looks good, not like hieroglyphics... You can find instructions on the TWRP thread. Then, install (flash) the ROM I mentioned earlier. Hit thanks please, it took me ages to make this noob-proof...

Many thanks, that's the most complete explanation I've found so far.

If you're only after the language, then install More Locale 2 from Market, choose Dutch locale, restart and that's it, you have dutch...
Thanks for the tip, I might just do that until I figure out how to do the more serious work.

Just curious: did you buy the phone from a (web)store or another person? What do you see when you uncheck 'fastboot' in settings - power and with the device turned off press and hold volume down and then power button?
Doing this will reboot the device in bootloader and it won't do any harm. You can select the options (including reboot) with the voluwe buttons and select with power. What does the upper line say in the white bootloader screen? LOCKED, UNLOCKED or RE-LOCKED?
And in the second line from top do you see somehting like S-ON?
Wondering if you've bought a device with an unlocked or re-locked bootloader since it's a bit weird that there's no Dutch language. If it's re-locked also part of your warranty (software related issues) might be void. On the other hand this makes it a smaller step to flash a custom recovery, root and install a custom rom with Dutch language
Bought it from a webstore, I guess it's a very localized version, only has language settings for Germany, Switzerland, Turkey like German, French, English, Turkish.
It was locked, but I unlocked it myself.
Second line in fastboot says "PROTO PVT SHIP S-ON RL". Don't know what that means, but it certainly is not sim-locked (using a Belgian Proximus sim).
May be some branded model, but without obvious branding (no logo outside, no branded bootscreen, no specific apps).
I tried to install what I believe is a generic RUU (RUU_PROTO_U_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.18.401.1_Radio_10.21.40.06U_1.10.40.23_release_295191_signed.exe), but that didn't work (don't recall the error in RUU. Not sure if the device is blocking it or becauce I'm already at that version.

Ah ok thank you for sorting that out. So it wasn't unlocked and customised when you bought it.
Be careful with flashing an RUU if you're not sure what region the phone is for. In the RUU-thread here on xda there's a list of CID codes (that corresponds to a specific region) for which the RUU can be used. Download and install the app 'cid getter' from google play to find out what CID the phone has.
Thought the only available RUU now is made for western european phones so might not suited for your region.
In that case if I were you since the bootloader is already unlocked unlocked flash a custom recovery (see threads under 'original android development' and then install a custom pre-rooted deodexed rom like the one from Infernal77. You'll have all languages and the possibility to remove ads etc.
short help
Hey didi, I'm from Belgium as well, got a Desire X about 3 months ago and learned about it as much as I could.
Let me give you a short sumary of what your current options are :
1. to make complete backups of the rom you hav on it now, you'll have to unlock the bootloader in order to flash a special recovery (CWM or TWRP). If you have that backup on the SDcard, you'll be able to return to it. CWM also backs up your current recovery and boot, which you should be able to flash back manually or simply using CWM
2. Once you've done that, you can choose to either try and root your current rom by using hasoon2000's AIO kit which has SuperSU (not preferable), flashing another superuser app (best for DX is SuperUser 3.1.1) through CWM or by flashing an entirely different prerooted rom. I made a stock prerooted rom, including Dutch, which is available at http://d-h.st/E90
3. maybe just add another language to your existing rom, but I think you need to be rooted anyway for that (not sure - anyone ?)
Cheers
Thank you both.
I'll go through both your suggestions in the coming days.
Have to carefully plan my experiments on the DX because my GF is using it already

Important tools links:
[TOOL] Huawei Multi-Tool v8 by Team MT by inside!out
TWRP Honor 7X img
Stage 1
Download from here everything you need for the procedure - Download Folder Link
I am testing it on my BND-L21 firmware from BND-AL10
Downloading firmware (from topic). Full firmware must be more than 1.5Gb, all smaller is just
OTA Updates to the system.
After that we must download Huawei-MultiTool (future MT) version 8.x.x (link topic)
and downloading custom recovery. We will use TWRP for Honor7x (link topic)
Last we must prepare OTG Cable, SD Card more than 4Gb. On first stage that's all.
Stage 2
Go to MT and reboot phone to Fastboot mode (while phone off, hold "Volume -" and power)
If you did all correctly, you will see in the down right side your number and "Fastboot".
Now go in MT to the Bootloader and check the status. If you have already unlocked, skip this.
If you have locked phone, you must have IMEI and Huawei account. (if not please unlock your bootloader via the Huawei site)
After that, go to Recovery menu and choose our TWRP image in "Custom recovery" section and
type "Recovery". IMPORTANT!!! DON'T FLASH ERECOVERY, I DON'T HAVE THIS IMAGE!!!
After flashing recovery, we must turn off our phone.
Now we must to prepare base system image. In archive we have UPDATE.ZIP file. extract this
file to custom folder and open "Unbrick" in MT and choose "extractor". Open our file in extractor
and click right mouse key on empty space, choose extract all... and choose custom folder to
extracting.
Go to the folder and copy file VENDOR.IMG to the SD-Card (or USB with OTG). Turn on your
device in Recovery mode (Volume + and power), choose Wipe and Wipe ALL partitions! After
doing this, go to Install and choose "Install img", go to the SD-Card, and install VENDOR.img to
VENDOR folder (Important!)
After installing reboot phone again to Fastboot mode and connect to PC.
Now we must download .zip update to your region. We need this for using LTE (4G) in your country + Localization.
After downloading open .zip archive with our CUST file. archive must be called update_BND-
YOUR-NUMBER_hw_YOUR- COUNTRY.zip
From this archive we must extract .img file from root folder. It can be called cust.img CUST.img
version.img etc.
if name different from CUST.img rename it and put to the extracted UPDATE.app folder.
Last Stage 3
In MT go to Unbrick, choose our unpacked system with our CUST file and we must have at least
4/5 checkbox. And just type "UNBRICK" and wait. NOTICE: at moment of extracting system.img
it will be about 10-15 minutes. It's not a freezing of PC)
After good installing in log you will see like "All ok" Just reboot phone and you will see low level
factory reset, or something else like formatting. After formatting phone will reboot to the system.
That's all
Flashing Gapps method coming soon...

there is a procedure used by EU users to completely revive the phone using the OTA but the procedure is too long which i haven't tried yet and is completely for users who have dead phones for now and yes obviously there is no official firmware available for Honor 7x but the user from an EU forum revived his phone so it is possible from the images.

There are teams who have unlocked a lot of stuff like flashing international FW,
flashing gapps on chinese fw, Automatic Call Recording, restoring the phone.
so i am in contact with them to make our phone better. lets keep our fingers crossed. :fingers-crossed:
i am waiting for firmware flashing to get it translated from one of the users.
This is the full recovery package right? Atleast for the Indian version?

They arent recovery packages. they are full OTA which can be flashed for updating.
but there is a process to compile them into making them stock firmware packages but due to the long procedure i didnt post it here. rather wait for official stock firmware package.

this is to update to the latest firmware. if you have the latest firmware you dont need it.
the multi tool is used to flash stock with a procedure which is only needed to return to stock or else theres no need for it for the most part..

1. yes you can if the app supported honor 7x with their firmware but it doesn't yet, use twrp

3. unlocking bootloader itself is dangerous let alone rooting since your waranty is gone since there is still no sign of official stock firmware
4. same as no. 1 ans

by the looks i guess you have no clue about phone flashing, its better you dont try anything until there are guides properly made for newbies. :silly:

Is there any way to get the stock OS files again to flash in TWRP ? Or does anyone have a backup file they made that they can share? I tried Huawei e-recovery too, but that gets stuck at 'unable to get package info'. The people at the service centre can't think of any other method to restore the phone, except changing the motherboard. When is the official stock file expected to be available?

2. yes you can upgrade via flashing it in twrp
3. unlocking bootloader itself is dangerous let alone rooting since your waranty is gone since there is still no sign of official stock firmware
4. same as no. 1 ans
5. if u flashed twrp you can do your nandroid backup which can be later restored anytime so it will be obv on the phone at that time
6. manual or local update? in the op main post i guess? by opening the link?
7. Still no official firmware and the procedure i am aware of consists of turning the official chinese firmware into normal by changing settings and stuff which is a long procedure so probably if u brick, u r stuck until honor decides to release stock firmware
by the looks i guess you have no clue about phone flashing, its better you dont try anything until there are guides properly made for newbies. :silly:

1. In the app firmware finder there are firmwares for the phone but how can I flash a official firmware (OTA I mean) if there are no one (or how can I flash a firmware finder Update)?
2. Same thing in -1 (I mean)
3. Ok. Now we have to wait the official stock firmware, no? (i don't understand this answer, please write it in another way)
4. I don't understand it
5. Okok (obv? Sorry I'm Italian hahaha)
6. It's not the same thing local or manual? Write it in another way please hahaha google translate doesnt help me?
7. Okok, So if I don't use your method I only have to wait that honor release the official stock firmware (UPDATE. APP). And for greater security it's better wait it before to root and unlock bootloader etc, no?
Anyway, I have an idea of what flashing is, in fact every device I have (they are all Samsung, so that's why I'm disoriented) is completely modified. The fact is that I dont have much experience (I'm 14 years old) with non-Samsung devices, in fact my honor 7x I received for Christmas and for the hurry and the want to modify it, I would like to know all these things.
Thank you

OK thanks I'll keep it aside in case of brick
I would recommend everyone to not do experiments over your phone to try and root and flash random stuff..
they only have official chinese firmware for flashing so its better to wait for the official firmware for non chinese version.
the method which i know of to flash on the phone is for people with flashing knowledge cz the procedure is not simple and secondly even i have been flashing my phone for many years on various devices yet i havent got the guts to root this first honor device cz their partitions are different and somewhat secured so dont play with it.
wait for the official firmware for your respective devices. maybe they will straightaway launch the oreo firmware.
