Hello,
My phone info is as follows:
Model Number : HTC Hero
Firmware Version: 1.5
Baseband Version: 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
Kernel Version: 2.6.27-8dd6deee [email protected])
Build Number: 2.73.728.5 146733 CL#61267 release-keys
Software Version: 1.0.0.A6288
Its one of those East Asian version of the phone. I am not sure if I wanna update my phone to Modaco or the WWE Rom. Any ideas??
Also, if you could point me in the direction of how to go about with either one of those, that would be great.
Please any help in this matter will really be appreciated.
Thank You.
I think you are uptodate. You cant choose though.
To put Modaco Designer (I mean Rom) you have to perform certain ritual called "Root Way", as his roms are not RUU.
Thanks for ur reply Lucan. I dont know if I am up to date or not as yet, cuz for some reason I do not have market on my phone and I surely need to have that to get apps. I dont mind if I have to root my phone, just want to get a good custom rom that doesnt have much problems and has the access to market.
You mean no Market as apk? In that case I would first consult your network provider for their explnation if the said one also supplied your handset.
Or take a journey to Rootway.

Hi and good day
I'd like to have a plain WWE ROM in my HTC Hero.
I bought a Hero from my local store (Malaysia) and the Hero is not branded. However, the ROM is slightly modified and the most obvious and obnoxious difference is the omission of Market.
The (Android) Market is replaced by SlideME SAM in my local, unbranded HTC Hero.
Now, initially I'd like to get the Market without flashing my Hero to another ROM. I did google for hints how to achieve this, no avail. The closest probably market-enabler.
So now I decided to flash my Hero to a plain WWE ROM. I have downloaded
1. update-hero-generic-2.73.405.5-signed.zip
2. update-hero-radio-63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18-signed.zip
3. flashrec-20090815.apk
4. cm-recovery-1.4.img
And my current pointer is theunlockr's How To: Root Your HTC Hero in One Click! at http://bit.ly/TVoUL.
My Hero comes with
Firmware version: 1.5
Baseband version: 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
Kernel version: 2.6.27-8dd6deee [email protected])
Build number: 2.73.728.5 146733 CL#61267 release-keys
Software version: 1.0.0.A6288
And I would like to have some helpful advices to flash the current ROM to the plain WWE ROM, which was downloaded as update-hero-generic-2.73.405.5-signed.zip.
Thank you
Wait a minute.
Is update-hero-generic-2.73.405.5-signed itself a ROM, or just an update? Now I'm confused.
Am I able to use that update-hero-generic-2.73.405.5-signed and get myself a plain ROM, or I need to get the actual plain ROM somewhere then only I can install the update-hero-generic-2.73.405.5-signed?
In my understanding (it may not be comprehensive) you have the new rom just a different language version being malaysian hero.
If i understand correctly all your after is the official google/android market?
YEAH! I do exactly as theunlockr's tutorials, and I made it through.
I have my Android Market now, instead of that unwanted SAM.
I am required to manually key in all the details and settings for my HSDPA/3G/Internet settings which are easily obtainable from my telco
As for now, I have a fully functional Hero, with Market! Yeah.
Does anyone know when Orange HTC Hero users in the UK are getting the Android update from 1.5 ? Is it to 2.0 or 2.1 ?
I'd like to know if and when this will be available for my phone. Here's my phone details:
Firmware version: 1.5
Baseband version: 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.08.29
Kernel version: 2.6.27-430d1aea htc-kernel and18-2 #959
Build no: 2.73.61.66 CL#82177 release-keys
Software version: 1.0.0.A6288
I don't really need to unlock my phone and would like to wait for an official release. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm a noob and there's no info on the HTC support site.

Definitely. Have a play whilst your waiting, try some different ROMs.
Use BTDAG's guide linked in my signature, it has everything you need to know. I recommend it to any beginner.
Thanks for the info guys. I think I'll wait if it's just going to be a couple of weeks.
Just phoned HTC Support. They said there's no official confirmation of the release details, but unofficially, here's what they said to expect:
* v2.1 to be released. Release scheduled for June. Wouldn't be more specific about date.
* Improved bluetooth implementation, inc file transfer.
* Release likely to comprise of preparatory updates, followed by main ROM update.

I always recommend AmonRA (latest is 1.7.0.1 IIRC).
As for ROMs, you have 2 main choices (well, maybe 3)
Sense 2.1 ROMs (like official)
Vanilla 2.1 ROMs
Vanilla 2.2 (Froyo ROMs)
Which you go for depends on what you like in a ROM, and how stable you want. Froyo ones are slightly less perfected, but still perfectly usable for a daily phone (I use Froyd on mine every day for the past month or so, without issue)
The most stable would be a Sense 2.1 ROM, as that is as close to the HTC update as you get.
Thanks for the quick answer.
So all i have to do is to flash the amonRa image with flashrec?
After using Universal Androot yes.
@lajba: i'm have same sofware info like yours but didn't manage to get flshrec working
stuck there..

hi,
a couple of weeks ago i bought a mozart and i've been having some problems.
When I get a call, the first time there is no audio, if the person calls back a couple of seconds later it works perfect..
Now i wanted to restore my phone, but i discovered it has a 7712 firmware on it.
it is als o mobile branded, but there is no simlock. it seems this firmware can't be simply removed and restored with the default firmware if you don't have the original backup, which i don't have?
can anyone tell me how i can get this phone back to it's original state?
thanks in advance!
Search the development forums for the initial ROM for your carrier. If the original carrier is T-Mobile DE, for example, you should use: "RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.09.001.16_5.50.09.15_22.23.50U_Signed_by_ansar"
Forgot to mention that after you apply the correct Initial ROM, you can apply the new 7720 Mango ROM. I did that yesterday and it worked like a charm. Mango is fantastic.. Feels like I have a new phone
this is my phones info:
os version: 7.10.7712.60
firmware revision number: 2250.21.13301.111
hardware revision number: 0004
radio software version: 5.65.09.25_22.45.50.21U
radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
bootloader version: 1.33.2250.1(123643)
can anyone please tell me how to do this?
can i just download the initial rom and do the rom update?
Just search this file "HTC_WP7_ROM_RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.23.111.01_5.50.09.18_22.24.50_RELEASE.exe" and install it.
Hello!
I've been searching for a complete guide on how to flash a custom rom on the Htc Mozart, since it has been developer locked by windows, but only found parts of the whole procedure and i don't know what order to do them in. So can anyone explain me the process from the start to the end. No need for in-depth, only which steps to take and maybe the forum link on the step, if there is any available,
OS Version: 7.10.8773.98
FW revision number: 2250.21.51201.111
Hardware revision number: 0004
Bootloader ver.: 5.12.2250.1

Programs Needed
I'd be grateful if someone will make a list of programs that are necessary to downgrade and flash a custom rom for our HTC Mozart. Thank you .
