Does anyone know a mobile version of an app to connect to webmails?
I have numerous emails on a provider that binds pop/imap connections to its own subscriber lines.
So unless you are one of their mobile clients, you can't access email directly (they also provide free email accounts).
Now on pc we have several solutions (freepops, html2pop3, etc): anything like that for WM?
(tried a search and came out empty handed)
Hello i today released an unofficial version of repose for android (arm) root device

Hi,
Just got together with some friends and they were showing me free Wi-Fi internet calls with their devices. One was an Apple iPod touch using Talkatone and the other an Android with Groove IP. My question then is there any equivalent free (ideally) or paid services equivelant to these? They were both single programs that linked to google voice accounts. Everything I'm reading requires one program and then a SIP account. I've seen PortGo and Pocket Talk but they both want a SIP account during setup. Any recommendations for mobile to landline (again free if possible). I'll continue to search but there's so much old data with broken link. Hoping someone has up-to-date info.
Best to all and thank you
Hi!
Try to google Express Talk. For me working link was to freewarepocketpc dot com website.
I couldn't find anything better. For Android my favorite one is 3CX Phone, unfortunately they don't port it to WinMo
For a while, I used Springpad to access notes between four computers, two phones (WM and Android) and a Kindle Fire tablet. Looks like the Springpad mobile application (the mobile web version of their database) has been discontinued. I can't use the "regular" online version on my phone, it simply doesn't work.
Evernote does not allow offline access in WM, doesn't allow offline access in Android in free version, and doesn't let me edit any notes in WM if they have any formatting.
OneNote is relying on SkyDrive which is blocked at work (so is Dropbox).
GMail doesn't work as notes database since I don't have access to all of my messages in airplane mode.
Am I SOL ? Are there any other alternatives or solutions I didn't think of yet ?
Hi,
a friend of mine bought a few days ago a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" to manage his clients (he's a doctor).
He started to build his contact library (he doesn't have an android phone and no gmail contacts) adding name, surname, eventually mail and phone number and in the "Note" field he wrote all the note he'd taken. BUT this field has a characters' limit, and he can't add even a letter anymore (for the most visited client of course).
I tried to search for an app for this purpose but I can't find anything. I don't even search ONLY an app, it can be enough another method using the in-build feature of the tablet and android.
I searched for some CRM app, but most of them are ugly (since it's not a power user the more simple and clean is the better) and not optimized for a tablet. I found Insightly, but it's only online, and if he does'nt have a wifi network around he can't, not only record the new data, but also access to the old ones! They MUST be always available.
I thought about a simple folder + text file in G Drive, but these are only online too. Dropbox, too.
If it can interact with the G Mail contacts (the Note field is very useful at this) it would be wonderful, otherwise he'll build up his library with his contacts.
How can I do to have these data always on the tablet (cloud sync is not absolutely necessary)??? Any idea for an app or an alternative method?
Thanks!
nobody??
He bought a tablet to use for work, without any idea on how he would use it for work or if it would even do what he wanted? If he throws money around like that, why not recommend him to get an app written for his company and it's needs. There are many app developers who design and write custom apps for clients.
Greetings,
while staying in a hotel in Mexico last year, I tried to use my G+ to share some photos with friends and family.
I was able to use my phone quiet normal, meaning it was possible to send emails (including using the gmail-account), browse websites and use WhatsApp and Skype.
But when I tried to use G+, I was prevented from logging in. Instead I received an email (ironically from my gmail account) saying someone would have tried to hack my account and I should log in to check, if everything would be okay.
Just, I was not able to log in, neither using the G+ app nor using the web login with the browser.
After I got back home, I could log in normally and I was asked if I want to continue using my account from Mexico in the future. I said yes and was asked to log in from Mexico within 10 Minutes, what was unfortunately not possible from the other side of the world.
I would like to prevent that from happening again, so my questions would be, if someone had similar problems and what needs to be done to get access from everywhere, including from a hotels wifi in a foreign country.
Thanks,
Ferdi
Disclaimer: I know nothing on how to configure firewalls except for adding apps to the whitelist/blacklist.
Tried using NRFW and I noticed a few things:
1. I've consumed 12.54GB and 9.77GB was by NRFW. What's happening please.
2. I've tagged some apps that can only connect when I'm on wifi, yet I'm still getting notifications when I'm on mobile data. For example, the Facebook app and some games.
3. How do I determine which IP address should be allowed or blocked? For example, I see IP addresses pointing to Akamai and my ISP.
4. Is it a good idea to turn off background data? I restricted it on mobile data and allowed it when on wifi but some apps would not load properly even when I'm connected to a wifi network.
Thanks in advance! And please excuse me if I posted this in the wrong forum.
EDIT: I'm referring to Grey Shirt's NoRoot Firewall.
I read up a bit and learned that 1e100.net are Google's servers. I understand that these point to ads too. I also noticed my ISP's name shows up under these.
Do I allow these or do I block them?
First of all: sorry for answering so late ;-) ...:
- in my opinion, your traffic from internet is being redirected through this NoRoot Personal Firewall unto your smartphone
- so, the 9.77GB you mentioned were 'routed/directed' through the NRPFW - the rest was not (? - maybe for Android-Updates or anything?)
- as you could most probably see, all of these 9.77GB were allowed to pass through from the internet servers (akamai or google or microsoft or ibm or yahoo or many more..) to your smartphone ('s apps / system apps)
- notifications about your mobile connection(s) MAY simply be wrong (as i found out) - seemingly a bug in the NRPFW-app (?)
- akamai is one of the " intermediate servers" or main server for a couple of websites:
for example, when you open the 'WashingtonPost'-website on your smartphone, (all) contents from their website are upon an akamai-server, because 'WashingtonPost' does not have a server on its own inside their office building maybe big enough to handle all traffic from their website to all readers in the world
- your Internet Service Provider has intermediate servers for (any) web content, too - so, you might want to allow their internet addresses
- furthermore, background data is transferred when you have an email-app and this app (gmail or yahoo-app, e.g.) is transferring data even if you had closed the email-app (so you cannot see it anymore on your launcher) or it's even running in background and checking if there's new mail when auto-started while your smartphone is booting.
