Hello everybody and regards to masters of HTC and clones. I'm from Chile, some days ago i bought a T4242+ from China, as many people here I was fooled too. Device is cool for the price, but i need to upgrade ROM to see if some features can improove general performance. I've searched a lot of forums, here and others and i haven't found solution, this is my situation:
1.- I have this Software:
WM 6.1 Professional
SO CE 5.2.20758 (Compilación 20758.1.4.1)
PDA versión : V03.06.00
PDA Construir : S0908051825(1.33)_BV
Stack Versión : V02.42
Stack Construir: May 16 2009 07:05:05
Radio Versión : 1.3
Radio Package : 2.2
2.- And this Hardware:
CPU Marvell PXA300
Rate 624 MHz
ROM 256MB
RAM 128MB
3.- Hard Reset buttons are:
Green+ Red + Power
No options screen pop's up, just do the Hard Reset at first button combination pressing.
4.- USB Mode Buttons
Volume Down + Power
White screen pops up with this message: "USB Update Mode!" (I don`t know what can i do from this screen)
5.- I don't know if i can flash my ROM with this specifications, neither if there is a spanish ROM to update. I've red a lot of flashing formulas and i'm a little confused , so i need someone to explain step by step (including some software i may need) what to do with this if i find the ROM.

Unfortunately, there is no rom here that will work on your device...
Clones have a very different hardware, compared to the original phone.
You best shot is to dig in the chineese forum i found here, assuming you use google to translate, or understanding chineese, but there is little hope you will find a spanish rom there...
If you are courageous enough, you can try to cook yourself one based on the information you may gather there, but i don't think what you will find on xda is usefull for that, as the tools here are made with HTC in mind, and clones are like devices from other manufacturer (motorola, palm...), regarding the cooking of rom.
But don't try to flash a rom from here to your device, as it will most likely result in a bricking of your phone!

Hi, do anyone here know some software that works with HTC clon t4242 (marvell pxa300 processor) motion sensor?

Hi, i manage to extract the htcsensorsdk.dll from paiura's rom, which i learned that allowed to use htc g-sensor software on t4242+ and some other clone phones.
I tested on my phone and worked OK!
Now i can use my phone like mx-air (logitech mouse...)

Hi guys,
I've recently found this forum during a google search for tweaks for my newly purchased QTek 2020.
I have read here that the v1.72 ROM incrases battery performance so I would like to upgrade my unit to have this lastest version.
Here's my current Device Information...
ROM version: 1.66.00WWE
ROM date: 02/20/04
Radio version: 1.10.00
Protocol version: 1337.18
ExtROM version: 1.66.130
I use it on the UK T-Mobile network (can't seem to get MMS working though - anyone care to post there working settings?)
Can someone please advise me on where/how to update my device to v1.7.2 ROM

You might want to re-use some of the CAB files from your old ExtROM or even from the T-Mobile 1.72 beta.
There is a thread (search for 1.72 or ruu172*) which explains the objective of all cab's
DO NOT FORGET TO COPY THE WHOLE CONTENTS OF YOUR EXTENDED ROM TO YOUR PC FOR BACKUP (just in case)

my friend you should just write click on file named RUU172602WWE.exe,
its also "InstallShield Wizard" and choose "extract to RUU172602WWE\" it will start to extract the needed files into mentioned named directory. next go to directory and click on file named "HimaUpgradeUt". But at the same your device should be locked on your dock station and it would be connected to your pc via usb you know.
just follow the arrows by clicking. no need to change some things its starting to load the needed files in 5 stages it takes approx.3o min. at last program will direct you to reset your device, you may reset it by taking off the battery, so i did this way. and thats it.
about battery life; i could not enough time to test it i just load it and it stills on dock station at work all day
i had a bt headtset epox marked but last week i gift it to my brother and now im searching for new one. it was quite well with such a normal handy phone but with my qtek i had some range problems. i hope to make my decision and buy new one within next week (i guess it will be jabra. :wink: )..you know, i really wonder how it will work with this new img..

Some suggestions, based on english google translation:
1)
This is a guide for using the AP4 updates, which the AP team has written
I will suggest to add the name of the device (athena, and vendor's name X7500 ,....) the meaning of AP team (Athena Project team) and a web link (forum.xda-dev......)
Also in important IMHO tho explain that the ROM language is WW ENGLISH only, having LOCAL configuration for currency, date, time, numbers, operator

1. It is very important that you observe these rules:
- Only with Windows XP update, since problems could occur Vista
- The cable DURING the process never separate, no matter what.
- This guide is only a portion read further ahead, so that no surprises.
- The battery has about 50% have electricity
I will call this step CHECK LIST before starting, adding
- Remove the Storage Card , if any
- The device should be connected to a USB PC port, avoiding HUB
- Disable power saver and or screen saver, if any
- Don't touch the cable or the device during the update process (only to confirm if asked)
- Close all opened application on the PC, don't run anything during the update process including MSN Messenger, ICQ, Skype and similar (I've seen below but is better to UNIFY the ckecklist I believe)

I don't believe that SPB backup could restore the applications on a fully new ROM, and if he does the device will never work as supposed. PIM backup is for PIM data,freeware and may be this will work. Microdrive AND STORAGE CARD are safe

Usually HOW to is written and discussed BEFORE releasing the update. Then how to will be released in a final, multilanguage version, with the ROM .
This is a developer's forum, a place were the stuff is discussed BEFORE the release

1) I agree to have a beer at the end, but I will suggest AFTER a DONATE Link! Also the AP team loves the beer!
2) Flash video couldn't be printed and should be better to have AP Upgrade printed out instead of having a Flash presentation running during the update process!
3) RUU Screens translation is needed for "bad english speakers"

Thanks for reviewing it! I will try to make those changes today.
The print version is contained in lucky post #13. Same content as the flash version, just in *.doc format.
Unfortunately, the only language I know is english. Glad to work with someone on other versions though...

I've got several problems with my phone :

We've got the same problem here ...
I'm also forced to do a phone's soft reset when i'm connecting it to my laptop (usb connection) or when i'm charging my battery's phone !
I was also wondering if you'd be king enough to indicate me a substitute for WMP, that could read videos with an "avi extension" (.avi) ?
(I've tried a cracked version of the "Pocket Player" but it wasn't functionning well on my phone ; actually it was crap ...)
Hope you'll understand what i'm trying to tell you all !

not really sure what the issue(s) are but I think you need a FRENCH ROM.
The thing is i'd like to stay with the energy rom because it's a great rom ... but i'd also like to have a french keyboard ...
I really don't want to put a french rom on my phone, because i think there is no french rom which is as great as the energy rom.
I have another issue with my phone : sometimes when i've just end the connection with my laptop i get this message : ""nameoftheapplication".exe is not a vaild pocket PC application"

It´s not my first time posting here, I´ve got a Magician too and hardly, i´ve been able to install new roms and customize (more or less) my htc...
But i´m having problems with mi nike... I just want to find an stable rom (in spanish if its possible) and customize it more or less like the last magician rom from cotulla with manilla 2d ??? (something similar to diamond original or touch 3g). In my travel trying to do it i found a rom in htcspain that more or less worked well, but finally it started to get problems getting halt ? (stoped, i hope its the wright word) , not working some of the functions, getting to hot, slowing...
So, maybe what I need is the official rom and just try to customize it ?? I´m trying to read everything (I have not written it without trying to learn by my own) but as you can see my english is not the best and i´m just starting in this world....
So, trying to resume, can anyone tell me how to do it ?? I mean, i´ve done the hard - spl (so mi nike is now free) and i have installed roms, so i need to know wich rom to install and how to customize it (in the magician i got a file that i just installed in my pda and it did it everything alone....)
Finally, I think that it´s absolutely necessary to thank everybody here, cause you all have a lot of patiente and dedicate a precious time to help "dumb" people like me, i saw it clearly during my magician experiment....

Finally done. I´ve found an spanish web which uses some material similar to yours but in spanish (maybe it´s your material translated, i don´t know) and my nike is working really really well.
Thanks rataplan for your answer. Reading the forums here gave me the knowledge to be able to install the soft i needed.
The original Greek ROM with some programs removed and most of the rest updated,
from "RUU_Mega_Orange_RO_1.37.70.1" and "RUU_Mega_hTC_Asia_SEA_WWE_1.37.728.3".
Radio version is also the latest.
Build is 21916, which is the most reliable, fast and bug free release.
ROM was created for personal use, since I couldn't find any other simple Greek ROM, and doesn't have any other improvements beacause I'm still a newbie!!
It's been running for two days now on my phone and I haven't found any bugs.
Any feedback and suggestions are always welcome!!

You should have a gmail account and synchronizing it with your phone, through ActiveSync. Then just follow the instructions here: google-calendar-eortologio!!!

I have the same question. I want to translate and cook my ROM. I have the original WWE dumped. I could use some Help. Generaly I am looking for the easiest way of translating a ROM.

Dear Helleenes friends,
found the solution in this program: GREEK LENG FOR WINDOWS MOBILE POCKET PC
it's not so expensive ($49,95), Greek MIO's service demanded 60 Euros to install the Greek ROM.
Since I'm not allowed (yet) to attach an external link, make a Google search using:
Penreader Greek Language Support
and you'll find it. You can download it for a free trial, to see if it works with your device.
And the most important is that the program just translate the full menu,
in case you want to "return" to the English version all you have to do is to unistall it
By the way WORKS FINE with my MIO A702 !!!

Since you have your original rom already dumped you're gonna need one more rom, which is in GREEK and is for your device.
Them it's just a matter of opening both roms with osKitchen and copy paste the language files from one to the other.

Unstable ROM
I tried this ROM on my HTC Mega, and i was suprised in a bad way that this ROM created problems from the first moment. The problem went so far that my usb connenction with my PC disconnected and reconnected in intervals of seconds, so that a flashing back even almost bricked my pda.
