Finally got a custom ROM on my phone, NFSFANs, and I must say I really like it, but for some reason I am unable to MMS. I looked through all the places i thought would be obvious settings, but i cant find anything
anyone else experience this?
same issue
i have been haveing the same issue on my touch pro, i dont see were to fix it when i try to send it starts to then says unable to send does any one know of a fix for this, i am useing Energy.HERMAN.23518.StandardM2.5_27.
use this
use this cab, it appears that messaging is still not ready for the new 2011 builds...
This will disable the HTC Messaging and take you back to the winmo messaging.
You also need the second cab to take your phone back to what sense2.1 used and it should work...
There is also a third file attached, that one you install by itself, you have to go to the "all messages" then you have to go to the menu>options>settings and put your settings.
Search on it a little more, If I find the full information again I will let you know. I read on it last night and got my wifes touch pro2 to mms again so this should work for you too...
Maybesz?
I beleive this may be what your after, these settings are carrier specfic in order to get MMS working

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings Where it says Connections, Delete that entire string Hold down stylus on Connections circle it and delete it, This is what keeps the MMS from sending. Bad thing is every time you open explorer it re-writes this registry. To solve that many of us have just used something else besides Explorer. Like Opera, Firefox Mobile or Skyfire.
You can still use these browsers without writing the Connections Value. If you don’t want to use anything but Explorer, you are going to have to go into this registry file and delete the Connections string every time to send MMS or until someone comes up with a registry hack to Auto delete this value every time you close IE …Close Regedit.
Now go to your messages and click menu/MMS options and then click server and click add new. Add new or if you already have one called something else just click it and click edit...you need to change these settings to
Server Name Cricket
Gateway leave blank
Port Number 8080
Server address http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
Connect Via Cricket MMS
Sending limit (should be 1024000 if you changed these settings correctly in regedit)
Wap version Wap 2.0 (Wap 2.0 should be pre selected, if it is don’t touch it. If it keeps reverting back to 1.2 when you click close? Go back into regedit and select WapType 1 as mentioned previously, this forces it into WAP 2.0 without it MMS won’t work.) Now if you have more than 1 select the cricket one you just configured and hit set as default then go back to HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\MM1\MMSCSetting\Cricket MMS and delete the other configuration, when you go back into settings CricKet should be the only one there and it should be default.
Start\Settings\Connections\Connections Under the General Tab Enter Cricket. Under the Modem Tab put in Cricket Mobile Web select modem to cellular line. Click next put in #777 to dial to Cricket, click next… User Name: [email protected] Password: cricket Domain: Leave Blank, click finish…under proxy settings, check these 2 boxes (this network connects to the internet, and this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet) Proxy Server: wap.mycricket.com click advanced. I also need to know how to send mms which i could not figure out at all.
thx

I can help you with the GPRS and MMS settings for Ufone. No clue about telenor.
For GPRS do the following: (I'm assuming your device has WM2003SE)
- Start > Settings
- Select the Connections tab and click on the Connections Icon
- Click on the Advanced Tab
- Click on the Select Networks button
- On the Network Management screen, under the first dropdown list (for
"programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using",
click the New button.
- On the next screen, enter an ISP name, e.g. UfoneGRPS
- No other settings needed, save these settings and clic on the Tasks Tab
- Now here you will see your UfoneGPRS connection listed with a bunch of
options
- Click on the Add a new modem connection option under UfoneGPRS
- Enter a name for your connection e.g. UfoneInternet
- Select CellularLine)GPRS) in the Select a modem setting, click next
- Enter ufone.plinternet in the Access Point Name box
- Click Next. No further entries needed, click Finish and save settings.
Your connection is now set. Click ok to get all the way back, on the today screen click on the signal strength icon to display the connection bubble. It should display your newly made connection name with a "connect GPRS" lick. Click on it and you should be connected to the Ufone GPRS network in a few seconds.
Good luck. Lemme know how it goes.
p.s. before you can use GPRS and MMS you have to call the customer services at Ufone and ask them to activate both of these services for you. It takes some time for this to happen e.g. you call them today and it will start working perhaps the next day.
For MMS do the following:
Again like the above you have to create a new connection by first creating a connection name and then a new modem connection for it. Lets say you called the connection "UfoneMMS"
These are the settings for that modem connection for UfoneMMS
- Connection Name: Ufone.mms
- AccessPoint: ufone.plmms
- Everything else: default
After this, go to pocket outlook, in the settings, do the following:
Create a Message Server as folows:
Server:
Name: UfoneMsgServer
Gateway: 172.16.13.27
Port: 9201
Address: http://www.ufonemms.com:80/
xxxxxxxx=9999999
(the xxxxxxxx and 99999999 are your MMS account username and mailbox ID that Ufone creates for you and you have to obtain it form their customer services peeps).
Then in the main settings, set the following parameters:
- Connect via: Here you select your connection name e.g. Ufone.mms
- Connect to Server: UfoneMsgServer (the server you just defined)
One last thing, I dont know how important this is but they always say to do it..
In the Slect Networks screen (where you first defined your connection), click on the Dialing Rules buttons and click "use dialing rules". Then setup new Dialing rules for say, Mobile as follows:
Dialing rules: Dialing patterns
Local: G
L.D. : G
Intl.: G
You should be all set up.
I have heard that recenty they changed some MMS related configuration so you might wanna chekc up with them to see if all the above parameters for MMS are still valid. I had them all setup and working perfectly for a while... but I havent used MMS in a long time so I dont know whats been happening recently.
If you have any trouble, lemme know. Everything should work, its working on my machine.
Access point is ufone.plinternet for lahore connections and
ufone.piinternet for islamabad connections and I think it differs from city to city be sure to check with ufone
APN
What is the Access Point Name for Multan?
please help me.

If you have struggled to enable MMS on you XDA I then read further...
My XDA
OS: PPC2002
ROM: 3.20.06 ENG
ROM DATE: 07/30/03
RADIO: 4.21.00
Service Provider: OPTUS (Australia)
Software you need: EZWAP ver:2.5 (search google for a download)
Other things before starting: I am under the impression that you need to ask your service provider to enable mms on yor account before it will work? I got my sim-card in Feb 2004, and never asked optus to enable mms on my device (i only asked them for their server settings - which they couldnt give me cuz they suck) Mine works, so i'm assuming its enabled by default. Just ask them anyways.
And finally before we start: This xda is not (to my knowledge) cooked in any way. It is just as i got it.
I've tested this 3 times now, and it worked perfectly every time. Since i'm using optus (prepaid) and i couldnt find ANY details anywhere on the net for optus network MMS settings, i'm posting it here for all who are just as fed up with the lame-ass customer service as i am.
(This is quite a long post, but im taking it hell into detail here. Another thing.. its written in dumbass language so if i say something like "click OK (top right of screen)" then just think of all the newbies )

This should work now when you send or receive MMS messages!!! yayy!
Here are a few problems i've picked up; they might happen to you and then again might not... if anyone has a solution for them please let me know
1) When you get a mms message, it will display a notification on your screen. When i choose to 'get now' it just does nothing. I have to go to my inbox and the message is there, then select to download. Not a big problem, but kinda irritating? I think someone else in these forums had the same problem.
2) Whenever i used my phone on my XDA it doesnt allow me to 'close' the phone-application. thus its always running in the background then. It's like i'm just swapping between the today screen and phone. ANyways, the problem is this:
the MMS works as long as i havent used the phone. It seems that the phone application (or connection or whatever) is conflicting with the EzWAP software, or the GPRS connection or something. The only way i can get MMS to work after using the phone is by doing soft-reset. Then everything works fine. I'm guessing that if your phone is closing properly then you wouldnt have this problem at all.
If this has happened to anyone (the phone not closing) and you have fixed it please let us know!
3) This is unrelated to MMS.
I cant do a soft-reset when my SD card (1GB Ridata 66X) is inside the unit. When i do this, i just get a blank white screen. When i take the card out and soft-reset then it works fine. Any ideas?
Thats it, happy MMS'ing!!!
The cost (for anyone interested) of sending a mms message to myself and receiving it was AU$0.60 in total. This is on the OPTUS network, using prepaid.
ok, if this even helped ONE person then i'm happy

Maybe since this forum is for upgrading. I also noticed your post at HOFO. Have you called TMO and asked? I took a quick look at TMO site and it wasnt much help. The "settings" servers/ports from the MDA will work, what is the specific issue. Is there no place to enter the servers or does it look correct and it just doesn't send or receive?
well all the fields to key-in is in there only problem is it has 2 options when im asked MyISP or My Network, dont know where to add modem there and also on the MMS setting there is a The WAP and Secure WAP?so which is which?anybody here using t-mobile MMS with cingular 8525
If your in the uk, you can sign onto my tmobile and they will send the settings to your phone.
To add a new modem you have to go to start>settings>connections> Add a new modem connection
You should specify in the mms settings to use the TMO connection
Here are the steps and settings:
Step 1. Setup GPRS connection for T-Mobile network:
Start > Settings > Connections (tab) > Connections > Advanced (tab) > Select Networks > New...
Enter the name for the profile (e.g. T-Mobile), then go to "Modem" tab and click "New...", enter name for the connection (e.g. T-Mobile Data), choose "Cellular line (GPRS, 3G)" in the drop-down menu, click "Next", the access point should be "wap.voicestream.com", click "Next", leave all fields blank on this page, click "Finish". Now go to "Proxy Settings" tab and select "This network connects to the Internet".
**Mod edit**
I removed your section on how to possibly get free internet from your provider. This board is not for the discussion warez, or anything closely related. If you want to share that type of info do it in private
Click "Ok" all the way out.
Step 2. Setup MMS:
Start > Programs > Messaging > Menu > Tools > Options... > MMS > Servers (tab) > New
Server name: (you name it)
Gateway: 216.155.165.50
Port Number: 9210
Server address: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Connect via: (the connection you created in step 1)
Sending size limitation: 300K
WAP Version: WAP 1.2
Click "Ok", set this new entry as default (with a red arrow on the icon).
You are all set.
p.s. I can get free internet on my account but not my friends', don't know why, need to have T-MobileWeb service ($5.99) to make it work on their account, eventhough still cheaper than Total Internet service ($29.99)
I never try WAP 2.0 on MMS settings, 1.2 works, so... (port 9210 is default for WAP 1.2, when choosing WAP 2.0 it will change to 8799)
hope this helps

Either MyISP or My Network are the name of the profiles.
Anyway, I'll suggest leave "MyISP" alone and create a new profile insted of modify it. (probably modify it works too) It seems like some features are not open to that one.
Afterwards, when selecting network, the new profile go to the upper slot. and the lower slot probably be "My Work Network".
Well long story short i jumped to cricket. I Flashed over the razr, guy who guaranteed work, even though now i feel fully comfortable doing it myself.
Here is the problem, I need to get MMS working on the stock messaging app, I have messaging working on an app the guy who flashed my phone installed for sending/receiving picture message, it is a very old out of date version of the stock messaging app with a few tweaks.
Heres the question, i remember the Hero guys hard coding the APNs to connect to the cricket servers into the stock messaging app, but this was a Sense rom back around 2.1 updates i was wondering if that was possible to do with our Messaging app to fix the problem?
I have attached the two messaging apps stock and the one the flasher installed on my phone..witch frankly is terrible double notifications no were near matching the theme...
I will upload a logcat ASAP
I think i have a working solution...by that it is working for my phone Any other Cricket Users please help me test. trying to get a universal working mms on stock app.
Try this
1. Dial ##program & then enter the spc(all zero)
2. Go to the apn control then select apn config edit.
3. Then select the apn called ALU TEST SIM INTERNET. (You may have to change, ALU Test-SIM CBS as well)
4.Change These Settings.
Username=Your#@mycricket.com
Password=cricket
Server=wap.mycricket.com
MMSC=http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
MMS PORT =8080
MCC=310
MNC=004
Authentication Type= PAP or CHAP
APN type= defalut,mms,dun
5. Press menu then save.
Then Back out and go into 08 SMS/MMS settings, and change the following
Address for upload to online album = 111111
Maximum Message Size = 228800
Reset your phone, and try and send an MMS
Let me know if it works.
I've put many hours trying to get this figured out on my AT&T RM-820 running Straight Talk on AT&T towers, so I'm not going to give all the details, but I wanted to help others out who are in my boat.
1) Follow the directions to get to the Rogers ROM.
2) Upgrade to the RM-821 French ROM
3)When it boots and asks which Access Point, select LTE2
4)Add the straight talk APN & MMS info by opening access point again and setting them up
5)Reboot
6)Test MMS (not ICS - internet connection sharing)
7)Reboot
8)Install the Spanish – Spain keyboard
9)Reboot
10)Test ICS and MMS
11)Do all win 8.0 updates via regular update method
12)Reboot, test MMS and ICS
13)Then get the developer preview updates – 1 at a time
14)Test ICS and MMS
15)Reboot
16)Test ICS and MMS
17)Set date to at least 2116 if not higher
18)Try to open “access point” in settings – it will fail – uninstall it
19)Test ICS and MMS
20)Check for more developer updates, repeat
The moral of the story that I learned is that you probably can't change MMS or APN settings after you do this. If you launch access point at any point after the point that I said above, it downloads the message saying you need to call 611 or go to att.com to subscribe to tethering - but since this isn't AT&T service, you can't do that. Never open access point, and if it ever shows up on your phone, set the date to 2116, and launch it to remove it so you never bump it in the settings - I learned the hard way thinking "I'll just never open this". I know there are lots of reboots in there - way more than you need, but I like to be careful.
mms is easy ics dont know

This post pertains more to Internet Connection Sharing - you can certainly add the APN and MMS info to get that working. BUT if you want to be able to turn internet connection sharing on, you have to do this.
