Hello all,
Everyone, including myself, is eagerly anticipating the release of ROM 4.0 for the Athena Project. I'm confident that everyone agrees that the project was an extreme success.
That said, we're recruiting for 4 new team members. We're calling 2 of the new additions "Spotters". We also need an expert designer who will be dedicated to graphics for the project and also an expert audio person dedicated to ring tones, special sounds, etc for the project.
While two of the titles and requirements for the new "positions" are obvious and require no explanation...I feel that the position of "Spotter" requires a bit of explanation to ensure we get the right fit.
What is a Spotter? According to the project's need, this is someone who knows the forum well, is resourceful, has time on their hands, is dedicated to the cause and has a good eye for useful utilities and programs to add to the ROM project.
Utilities should be freeware, lite on resources, enhance the device's functionality either by replacing existing apps/utilities or just provide a new way of doing "something".
Good examples are utilities that fit the description above are: WKTask, QuickMenu, TotalCommander, FTouchFlo and config, HTC Album, Flashlight, and so on.
Feel free to post your questions here.
Please note that not all submissions of art/audio/apps recommendations will be included. Remember, as always, no commercial apps/utils.

Of course, realVGA, wktask, TCPMP with FlashBundles and all the codecs, Total Commander.
Secondary Splash screen: If a person uses safe mode, there will be typically a bottom line which bumps the splash screen upward and distort it. So when designing the graphics, do not use the upper and lower portion of the secondary splash screen for any text. Instead, make it quite empty so that the bump would not distort it visually.

This tool is great and small and everything working. Perfect for Ext-ROM.
Netfront browser is really great, but not freeware.
Netfront releases trials of new demoversions, which run until a certain period. (May 2008)
They can't be activated after this period! The full version is another download.
Could you tell us exactly which graphics you need? (Splash, Background, WM-Player skin,...?), so maybe users can post their graphics here, and maybe we'll get a battle for the best ones.

Advantge X7510's ROM? Coming out just around the corner in March. May be not. The hardware is different.
But get the Opera 9.5 from the X7510 please.
I have used TouchFLo in the past, but have completely given it up for one reason: it destroyed the audio feedback or the touch screen sound effect. Fo me, sound is too important to be sacrificed.
I hope the touchflo in X7501 keeps the sound. If it does, we should get it from there.

Geez. My dyslexia kicked in, didn't notice that it wasn't 7501. This will finally fuel my lust for a new device. I've been happy for 9 months, which is actually 30 years in technology-years. But it doesn't look that much enhanced. I'm surprised.
yes 4.0 will be 6.1 eather build 19174 or 19188. these are the latest aku 1.0 builds(microsoft is playing games with build numbers, u have to have good microsoft sources to know whats new and old ) wont say anything about rest though.
I have been searching for several weeks now on how to make a "VGA mod" to the Esmertec Midlet Managers. The JAVA manager in the latest ROMeOS rom's have been modified to allow for VGA support.
Using the native JAVA in most TouchPro roms and installing OperaMini 4.1 renders things just so small that it is difficult to use even though I don't wear reading glasses (just yet).
I just found a link to a JAVA with VGA mod so as to allow for a larger font and it works well so far. It is not the later Esmertec Builld that hang.tuah is using in his ROM but it does seem to work until others (maybe hang.tuah) add to this thread.
For those of us living in the US - EDGE on the device makes "quick" internet browsing to check the weather or something less than desirable -- that is where OperaMini still has a place for me on a daily basis

A quick update
The search page is done (I'm going to add a search field after the first release, want to get a working product out first) and I am sorting out the data at processing it currently (when you click on an item it loads a new page with more info on it then you can open in a mobile bowser or go back to the results)
I'm ALMOST there guys, I have got to sort out the xml still and embed a browser in a new window to show more details on a deal... or I will sort out my own way around it
And another teaser screenshot, I have added support for tags (The search function works great right now, does all the filtering correctly.... BUT I am dealing with the returned XML currently)
Unfortunately you can only use 2 words as anything non alphanumeric is converted to '-' or the API wont recognise it but i'm working around it so you can use as many tags as you want (Just fixed this actually)
So I have the returned data to sort then it should be go I am going to add a 3rd screen where you can get more details on an individual deal (and load in an image of the product)
That is on a 240x400 screen so an Omnia should be fine
If anyone has dealt with DataSets and how to organise it in a ListView please let me know, I'm trying to deal with it right now and it's a PITA as I haven't used it before

Resuming studies in the next few weeks for my degree so it will be much more of a side project as I work on my dissertation
I have had very little feedback on it To be honest I want as much critical feedback as possible.
I'll be working on my own web hosting to avoid reliance on Rapidshare also (I want figures for dowloads of each version etc and having this project on multiple forums means keeping track can be very difficult!)

Worked fine for me on 1.0.1 and the .netCF cabs if you try it again as a free user
Now working, it appears rapidshare blocks free users when it is busy.

App works great, nice and fast, love it.
Cosmetic suggestions:
On the 1st page, maybe make the menu options more finger friendly?
On the results page, maybe split the backgound a bit, like with lined results, which highlight when selected.
Also when selected maybe add a lond decription and the small image?

That looks like a decent suggestion, I have a lot on (doing some demo work on the 360 ATM as well as some big side projects) so I'll try and make the changes that I can seeing as it should be a fairly minor thing to do

Time Synchronizer
Time Synchronizer allows you to sychronize your device clock with an Internet time server (using SNTP, Daytime Protocol and Time Protocol via TCP/UDP), but also with GPS satellites and cellular network. It is very easy to use: tap an icon to retreive time from the desired source, then tap Synchronize to adjust your system time. Time Synchronizer supports time zones, the time displayed is your local time. You can use any Internet time server, there are predefined addresses of well-known servers. This error is due to .NET CF 3.5 which is not properly integrated in many cooked ROMs.

This is because some of my apps are codded in pure C# 3.5 contrary to most of other .NET apps. The problem is that .NET CF 3.5 package is messed up on many cooked ROMs and makes impossible to properly upgrade .NET CF...

I can't get to your site. It tries to load indefinitely, as if it was looping. You may want to clear your browser's cache and try again.
Maybe your site is being attacked or blocked by your ISP.
I'm on Comcast, and I know for sure they don't block anything anymore.
It was working till now, there were too much traffic I think, the website is up now.

Not in this version, pictures are limited to screen size.

The layout has been updated to provide faster chapter navigation, I've also added a notes feature for people who would like to take notes. Search feature has been added.

Installation
Download the attached rbBiblev2Installer.CAB (7.16 MB), this will install two sqlce files if they are not already present in your rom, I would recommend installing the app on your sdcard and the sqlce files on your internal storage; you may also require 3.5 compact framework as it may not be preinstalled on your rom.

Optimise the search function, I had to scrap my current algorithm which splits words entered and searches per word and the results are joined using the union keyword. this method works but its very slow.

getting same error on Touch Pro running NFSFAN's WM 6.5.5 sense 2.5 custom rom. From the screenshots this is the best looking Bible app i have seen. I look forward to being able to use it

Could you enable your reader to say 'read' the Bible file for Pocket Sword? I like the ESV which is offered free by Pocket Sword, but you need to pay for it if you get it from other Bible Reader like Laridian or Olive Tree. It seems like the owner has the licence to use it for free.

Getting the same thing on my HD...
Otherwise, if you get it working, then it will be great! I've always used Pocket E-sword, but it isn't finger friendly at all, and I've always wanted a finger friendly bible app. Keep up the good work, your really awesome!
