Double SMS notifications...aarrrrghhh!!!! - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys!
I installed Handcent sms and even I stopped default sms notification and forced stop to the default client itself, I still receive two sms notifications on status bar. Had to disable the one notification supported by Handcent and now is only the default one on which when I click- the Handcent client appears. Once I quit from Handcent, the icon is still on status bar, altough I've read the sms and have to close it via "close notifications" button...very annoying..
How to get rid the default sms notification?

Open "Messages"
Click MENU
Select SETUP
Uncheck "Notifications" - scroll down
Enable HANDCENT notification
You should now get only 1 notification

That was exactly what I did and still get two notifications..

Go to settings >apps >manage apps> messages > force stop!

Go into the default Messages app and make sure to disable Auto-retrieve (this will also help improve battery life)

Go sms pro removed the default sms notifications. How to enable it

Hello guys,
The Go SMS Pro app removed the default notifications. There was one option for this which I selected during the install. Now I get only go SMS pro notifications.
How to revert this back, as i want to use default SMS app? Please help
I would recommend choosing one sms app and sticking to it. I am personally using GoSms and with some personalisations it is excellent.
the original sms notification can be turned back on by going into messages > press menu> settings > scroll to end > tick notifications
again not recommended to use both apps with notifications. gets kinda annoying.

Vibrate options missing for mail and sms?

Just got a SGS II and when I'm at work I keep the phone in vibrate mode but there are no vibrate options for SMS and the Gmail app...
If I go into messaging settings the only "Notification settings" are:
Notifications - display message notification in status bar
&
Select ringtone
Same idea for Gmail app.... what am I missing here?
It's through Bell and the only modification I have done was add gingerbread keyboard... no rooting/custom roms or anything.
I searched and can't find this problem anywhere.
You have to select 'Vibration- always' option under Settings- Sound for SMS vibration.
In GMail app go to More- Settings- Account settings- Select your a/c- Notification settings- Labels to Notify- Inbox- Vibrate- and change as per your need.
Regards.

Handcent Notifications

I'm having trouble with Handcent and notifications - namely double notifications with the stock Messaging app (even when everything is checked off in the ATT app) and then the Handcent app can't wake the phone, just makes the alert sound, of which there's two separate notice sounds.
ALSO, no red dot notification on the HC widget using Go Launcher EX with Go Notification installed. Any ideas?
just go into the stock messaging app and turn off notifications...... i had to do it, and had to do it with gosms.
yes.. go into default messaging text app click menu,,scroll to bottom and disable notifications......then in handcent click menu>Applications setting> Default Messaging application >Allow All Sms & Mms ,for default..

[Q] Messaging Apps - QuickReply

Using the quick reply option on any of the popular sms apps (Go, Handcent, Pansi, even SMS Popup) results in the LED continuing to blink. The only way to get it to stop is either open the messaging app or pulldown the notification bar. I have disabled the notifications as well as LED for the stock messaging app. In the sms apps I have selected the "closing popup marks read" options as well. I've read around and I've seen that it seems to be a general problem with the way sense interacts with these apps.
Any ideas?
I have LED turned off for SMS... I use Handcent and a app called SMS Popup.
When I get SMS messages, most of the time, I just close them in the SMS Popup. If I hit Reply and reply, the LED never goes on.
Is there a benefit to having two sms apps that do the same thing?

How To Turn Off Gmail Notifications With Notification Extender?

How do I turn off Gmail notifications on the watch with GNE?
I just want them to show up with the stock Gear Notifications.

In Notifications for Gear S (maybe it's not GNE, don't know), you can select what apps to have their notifications sent through Notifications.
For that :
1. start Notifications (on the phone)
2. press the "wrench" icon in the upper right corner to enter settings
3. Uncheck "Read Gmail Notifications"
If it's still showing notifications, you can use 2 other methods :
A. filter by notifications text
- in the settings use the "Do not read notifications containing ..." and add whatever text you know will always show up
B. selective notificationns
- in the settings activate the "Do you want to be asked for new...", this will make the app ask you for each new notification type. When the dialog shows up (when you get a notification from a new program) you can choose to send the notification or to ignore it
In case GNE and Notifications are not the same app, you should look into GNE's settings and see if it has similar ways to choose what notifications it sends.
But, then I won't see Gmail notifications at all, instead of only seeing them once, versus twice, which happens now with GNE.

If you only disable GNE to send the notifications and leave the standard Gear S notifications active for Gmail then you should get just one notification (the standard one).
If you instead want to get the notification just from Notifications Extended, well, i for one didn't manage to do that.
When i disable notifications for Gmail from the standard Gear S notifications then the Notifications Extended doesn't send the notifications either. I might have something configured incorrectly though, haven't played too much with the settings.
