Unlocking is possible without any cost. The tools are part of my OSB kitchen but can be downloaded separately as well. The tool to get is called "lokiwiz" and it will remove CID and SIM lock for Typhoon, Hurricane and Tornado smartphones.

i follow the instruction in unlocking Free HTC Hermes SIM & CID Unlocker *New* version v3a, i check CID UNLOCK and its successful..the signal bar is ok, but it always display the image i attach after 10 sec... how can i solve this problem? please help me

Hi guys, this is my first thread here in XDA. I think this is a great site the best i have seen for pocket machines.
It was helpful in the past when i had a HTC wizard. Now i have an HTC touch/ELF and soon an HTC UNiversal
My brother has bought an HTC 3400/Gene recently and i already have followed instructions for SPL and HSPL, everything worked like a charm, thanks.
However it is locked to a national portuguese operator. I have been reading the forum/wiki regarding Gene and i haven´t found anything yet to unlock this device. Is it possible to unlock? If anyone has found a solution for this could you please share it here?
I know there are other threads about it, but i decided to write one more so we don´t forget this issue

Hey dude! check out the SIM / CID unlocking in Gene upgrading etc. I think you can do it by Gene_hspl and supported tools.

Hey, guys! when hspl was helping with sim lock, it was so long ago. now it would not help you with this problem. HSPL doesn't unlock your phone of any operator, it will only help to install any rom you want, with any language. Sim-Unlock you can only make with the help of the web site. i unlock'ed my touch2 with the help of the site. and still waiting for hspl to delete f**ing T-Mobile ROM!

You are right - HSPL gives the right to put any ROM on your phone, it doesnt unlock SIM.
Hello Guys found this Dutch wbsite.....have not checked or any experience with them...so use at your own risk...if you need help with Dutch language let me know.....but should be fairly easy.

thanks all for the input... just tried the unlock method for touch 1. it doesn't work on the touch 2, i guess the software reads the wrong area on the touch 2. i think we'll have to wait for someone to release a upto date unlock program to read the right address from the eeprom by the help of rapi unlocking.

Dude, i unlocked mine on ebay, there are so many services for unlocking.
yeah, i know but i want to do it myself. i know about the JAU unlocking system, i missed the registration so now it's not free anymore. So the lucky ones who had registered last year had the software to unlock their free for 10 days on unlimited phone.

Unfortunately no one do some research on those topics.. I think all of the geek zone was beaten by Qualcomm **** of some market "boxes" (Furious, MxKey, Polar, etc)
