I am looking for a free app/service that will automatically upload pictures as soon as I take them from my phone (htc touch pro).
What do you use and why? What is out there?
Edit: cant post links...lame...use the googlez
What I have found:
mIQ
Its free but you have to "manually" open the app and let it "autosync".
Mesh
Its still in beta and unfinished...
funambol
Looks like you can sync pictures but doesn't show an option for phones...
myphone
Its limited and not automatic...
sugarsync
This is by far the best but they have not added photo syncing to their app. You will most likely have to open the app for it to sync.
shozu
Kinda annoying by the way it asks you every time to sync
Live Mesh is simple to use and it is running fine for me ! it syncs vice versa too ie. with desktop-to-cloud-to-urmobile.
mIQ should start automatically and run in the background as long as sync is set to "Automatic" in settings.
If you're settings are correct and pictures are NOT uploading automatically as they should, feel free to contact us on our help/feedback page (sorry can't post links yet) and we'll get it figured out!

I had forgot about this post but I as soon as I saw a reply I was going to recommend mIQ. MIQ does run in the background and upload automatically. It just takes time pending on how big the megapixel of the camera.
MIQ is now my favorite app. Plus its amazing too because I work in bby as well.
Now if only I can get that HipLogic app that is advertised soo much...
I can't seem to see all the text messages that i backed up on there.
Also how do i restore the texts from the website to my phone?
Using Winmobile btw.

I might miss represented my question..
I dont have stock rom.. I got mighty rom..
so when I do click manu all I have is send to your space and mms
I did that config thing with stock rom .. but I was wondering if theres way to add it back in menu or chang in registry where it'll be sending
thanks
ok somone helped me on other forum ...
I'm not taking credit for it.. !!!!!!!!!
If you don't want to have the sprint picture mail. The mighty rom has a social network to upload pictures to facebook and videos to youtube. First go to settings and connections to set up your information on the account manager. Next when you use the album click on the bottom right to pull up the menu and click upload to facebook.
For myspace, you can setup an email address to send pictures to. I don't know if you use sMMS or what but just setup a contact for myspace with the email you picked and send an email with the picture to myspace.
just repost his reply just incase someone as dumb as I'm!
Hey Fellows,
SendReceiveAll is just a small program that i created for my own use. In default Windows Mobile client, if you have multiple email accounts and they are set to manual download, like it is with me, While checking mail you need to go to each account and click send and receive. This is a bit tedious.
SO this program, which is a small, no-gui, .net cf app does so. It calls send and receive for all outlook email accounts. This way you can tap it once and then wait for your emails to finish loading at their own pace.
Its a very simple start and i haven't done anything profound with it. Its just an idea that clicked me.
Suggestions and Ideas are welcome from all of you
Thanks!
UPDATE : Here is the link to cab file for this utility. I haven't tested it so cant say about how reliable it is. Thanks to post&telecommunications to make and post it
SendRecieveAll v.1 Cab File
PS: It seems that this doesn't works if you have multiple IMAP accounts. The problem I think happens because IMAP accounts cannot be updated in "Background, Asynchronously". So If thats the case with you, I am sorry, I don't have any solutions right now. I will see if anything can be done about it
Thanks. Works like a charm
Glad to know that you found it useful
Yeah, I've found it a bit tricky to check all my accounts.
For further development, is it possible that you can implement a progressbar that shows, when an account is ready and maybe a dialog that shows how many emails are downloaded per account?
Yeah, I was also having these things in my mind right at the time of developing this version and i am working on these. Actually the method i use to call the sync facility of messaging application is not synchronous , ie. my app doesnt get to know when did the messaging app finished. It gets control back immediately. So i'll have to find a better way to do that. Thanks for the suggestion
Manilla sync data
Thanks for the progy! It would be nice to have this integrate with the Manila "Sync Data" button under settings, Currently this only works for syncing Activesync, but the description does say "and Internet data"
Is any software for Send only?
Is any application for Pocket Outlook, when I want only Send (not Send and Receive)?
Nice application - some suggestions
Great little application! I’ve been wanting something like this for ages – I didn’t want to set my mail accounts to send and receive every 10 or 30 minutes, I wanted them to sync when I picked up the phone and pressed a button – now I can do it without going to my gmail, yahoo, hotmail and Exchange Server pages separately!
As others have pointed out – having something that said mail account 1 of 4 synchronising would be good for progress – at the moment I don’t know whether I’ve got no emails or it hasn’t worked correctly.
If you are going to end up adding options to this, then auto disconnecting the data connection when all mail boxes are synchronised would save me another button press!
Making it work directly from send/receive in Manila is a great suggestion from ‘anothersmith’ – in the mean time I can’t get it to assign to the programs tab in Manila or via Hbutton – it doesn’t pick it up…..?
Good work.
Splelling errror!!
The reason I'm struggling to get the Hbutton to assign via the registry is that the .exe file is spelt incorrectly!
You've got it as SendRecieveAll.exe
Hbutton thread that shows registy values if anyone wants it for now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306794&page=2
Usefull application...thanks lot..
By the way ...i got problem coz im use diferent network (3g ,home and wifi)..i should sett the smtp manually before clickthis
great effort
Hi Friends,
Sorry for delay in response i was out of town Thanks for all the great responses. So i guess these are the changes i should try to implement :
1. Visual Notification of the progress and optional data disconnection at the end.
2. Integration with Manilla Sync.
3. Option to send only.
@brandall: If you add a sound to "New Email" notification in Start>Settings>Sounds and Notifications applet, you will recieve a standard notification from the messaging app about the newly recieved emails automatically. I get it on my phone.
@all: Since i only have a HTC Gene at my disposal, i cannot experiment with TouchFlo 3D features. I guess you people are talking about the sync button on tf3d, right? So can anybody tell me the integration procedure for touchflo 3d, i mean the registry keys and all.
I have 3 IMAP accounts, but it only sends/receive the last one
By the way, your app is a great idea!
I have exactly the same. 6 IMAP and it sends / receives only the last one.
Idea is great. Please correct the problem.
Oh, i didn't test it on imap, and i just returned from a long tour. I will look into it asap.
I think that the solution is to make the application aware of the synchronization status on outlook, which apparently can't send and receive from different IMAP accounts at the same time..
But it's only a personal hypothesis since I don't have the foggiest idea of how to program.
it will be greate to make gui with send/recive all... sen all ... recive alll
Hi Great app
one question, can run background? or hiden whith screen off?
i use another app to trigger the send/recieve mail by sms.
thanks
Hey Krazy - any update on this?
The original version I have still gets used every day for me!
great work however I removed .net due to memory restrictions on my xv6700 is there anyway to get the source so we can try to get this recompiled in c that way all devices could use your wonderful program. thank u again for listening
thank you for this wonderful piece of work.
Has anyone found a solution to the fact that the contact photos look bad and pixilatted. Cheers
Its a sync issue, there is no fix unfortunately as yet. Hopefully google will sort the issue with their wireless sync, but im not holding my breath. I have put the contacts on my phone then disabled syncing of them. Then I update the photos and its fine.
Hmm...intersting....could you explain how you fixed it in a bit more detail ( I ain't too bright ).
I didn't try to sync them at all...they are all images I've taken with the Hero's phone, at max quality. If anyone calls me and the image comes up - quite frankly it look embarassing
cheers
Are we sure its not the Hero doing a really bad job of compressing them before they leave the handset on their merry way across the internet to GoogleMail ?
I hope so, as this means HTC can do a better job on the thumbnails and make them small enough for syncing.
I synced my contact photo's via Exchange, and they are blurry as well.
So its an HTC bug then. Well at least to stands more chance of it being fixed Can't see Google nor Microsoft fixing their end for HTC.
Just out of interest, is there anyone here who is NOT experiencing this problem?
I have emailed HTC tech support - will post back when I hear back from them.
I haven't experienced pixelated contact photos, only the problem with photos not getting displayed off of Facebook.
So when someone calls you Woobit - you see their contact photo sharp and clear?
Interesting - were they photos taken with your phone or ones you uploaded. Anything specific about them or how you assigned them to your contacts?
cheers
The pics from Facebook on my hero are fine (a little grainier perhaps) its ones from my photo album from imported DSLR images that look awful post syncing.

We are talking about the contact photo which appears when he or she is calling you, or vice versa. How about you?
Well as these images are sourced from either Facebook automatically or hand picked from your photo albums... yes
Images Facebook has provided are of a dramatically better quality than those hand picked from the Albums application when seen in the Phone application (when called or you call).
It appears that once the Hero has synced to Googlemail, the Album sourced 'call' photo will be reduced to looking awful. HTC or Android is munching them up.
The Facebook ones stay pretty clean.
Ok, heres whats happening with me, and this happened on all devices I have used, HTC Touch HD, HTC Touch Pro2, Diamond etc and also the Hero.
Say you have all your contacts initially downloaded from Google and synced with your phone. They all come down, so turn sync off as not needed for contacts anymore.
Link your contacts to Facebook, images all come down, work fine.
1 week later, they are still all fine, good quality, can see the pic when calling.
Now, sync again with Google or Outlook and it sends the pics to the server or to outlook, but then it sends them back to the phone (I presume because the phone thinks they have changed in some way).
When they come back, they are grainy and rubbish, so this is something to do with the sync.
Try it, turn off all syncs and replace some pics with decent pics and they will stay that way, unitil you sync.
Just tried that Nice-Lad.
Turned off all syncing. The re-assigned an image to my contact ( my home phone ). Called myself from my homephone - and the new image popped up looking totally crap as before
BUT... the whole point of syncing as that you can add contacts, calendar events etc on your computer and have them automagically appear on your phone.
Turning it off is a work around 'maybe' but makes contact and event management useless.
HTC need to keep a local cache of images and use these in preference to those it gets back from Google (seemingly messed up by HTC before sending to Google). Facebook ones dynamically change when ever a friend updates their profile picture... these appear not to be affected by the same degree.

Ok, it may be as its stored in the cache so won't change. Or, try changing to WIFI and re-assign a totally different image. Could be the mobile network downloading the image with network compression...?

Oh yeah, I never said it was ideal, I was just pointing out that its an issue with the Syncing. My contacts are now fine, but I know what you mean when you change a contact, you want it to update in Google or Outlook.
It is very annoying and always has been, it needs fixing. Google are aware of it, I posted a comment on their forum and someone said they were looking at it, but that doesn't usually mean anything.
Would not be as noticable if we didn't have full screen caller display.
My N85 had a nearly as large an image for callers... never a problem on that... I synced with iSync over Bluetooth and
All HTC need to do to get around this is to keep a local copy of each thumbnail and ignore what Google sends back or is created to send to Google... which ever is the case causing the issue.
As a side note... I've noticed all my Facebook contacts that are also in my Mac Address book and therefore in Google contacts (I use Spanning Sync to mediate between all three) have a line of code in the Note section.
Appears that the Hero 'tags' these contacts and inserts the data into the Note field. Both in Google Contacts as well as passing through to my Mac AddressBook.
Like this...
<sn>id:578756042/friendof:706653099</sn>
But only if they have a Facebook profile picture that the Hero has downloaded. Some contacts that must have a privacy setting set in their Facebook profile, have no picture and this no line of code.
Anyone else notice this ?

Usually I don't really look at the picture when someone calls me, too busy answering I just had my gf call me so I could study the caller pic, and yeah, it could be better. The picture is synced from her Facebook account, and it taken with a not too expensive cell phone so the picture wasn't too sharp from the get go.
Basiclly: quality could be better, but I find the missing contact pictures more of a problem
woobit, try going to the Albums app and hitting the Facebook tab, mine earlier today (not tried before) grabbed a whole load of Facebook profile pictures that were not grabbed by the People app and its Groups tab.
Also, I think those friends with certain privacy settings will not allow their profile picture outside of Facebook.
I have a few missing but far more than I had prior to using Albums.
Worth a go
UPDATE:
Well I gave up with HTC email support, as they couldn't get their head around the fact that it is NOT a camera issue.
So I rang them, and the chap I spoke to was less then helpful - basically telling me there was no fix, he didn't know if they were working on a fix, and that it was all Google/Androids fault*
He seemed to think the problem was that when you assign an image to a contact, they phone makes a tiny thumbnail that is assigned to the contacts info page ( what you see when you view their details. Then, when that contact rings the phone tries to enlarge the very small image that you see in the contact page - thereby it is pixilated to look at.
Is this a problem with other Android phones? And surely to Christ someone in quality control s supposed to pick up these ( glaring ) errors?!
* This becomes somewhat of a pattern - each blaming the other so they don't have to take responsibility and actually do something.
I hope I'm just being really dumb here, but I can't work out how to view friends' albums on Facebook on my prime (using the official app).
When I browse a profile on my phone using the same app, I get the - About - Friends - Photos - Likes thumbnails, but not on my Prime.
Anyone else noticed this?
facebook seems to update like every three days, honestly your better off making a shortcut in your web browser and using their mobile site, its touch oriented and works better than any app i have used. You can also get your notifications from facebook going to your email so you can get notifications when people message you or whatever in email instead of in the notification bar and it still takes you directly to the content.
Sure its an extra button press but thats what works well for me. YMMV.
Was kind of expecting a 'use the browser' response, which is fair enough I guess.
Just wondered why the feature was removed or if it's just hidden somewhere.
I prefer using apps to browsers.
I've been on Android about 6 months now. First I had a Galaxy Note & now I have a Galaxy Note 2. In that time I've tried around 30 email clients (some free & some paid versions) but I've still not some across a client that can offer me some (what I consider) very simple features.
What I'd like the client to do is:
1. Be able to resize within the email view so I can see the whole email (or at least the width of it if the mail is longer than one page length). This is such a simple thing but the only one I've found that does this is the official Hotmail client but that brings with it a whole load of other issues... Even the Gmail client doesn't let you do this & you're forced to scroll around the screen trying to put together a virtual jigsaw puzzle in your head of what the whole email should look like.
2. Be able to set an option in the settings to always allow images. Again a simple feature. Something similar to the Gmail app would also be OK where you set it for each sender separately.
3. Always display as HTML.
4. Push notifications that display the message title/sender in the notification.
Hopefully someone knows of such a client but I haven't found one yet.
Thanks for your help people.

Thanks. I downloaded Enhanced Email from the play store. It does most of the stuff but doesn't let you know the source or title of the incoming mail. Just tells you that you have new mail.
Also having some problems with formatting emails in mobile view.
It's probably the best I've tried though.
You probably won't find an email client that tells you the sender and title because usually people receive multiple emails at a time from various senders.
And try K 9 mail
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
Having used enhanced email for a few days I can say that it's definitely not up to use full time. When ever I reboot my phone it deletes my Hotmail account, it doesn't notify properly, has no push for Gmail, can't format html into mobile view effectively & has a poor gui. Very expensive for why it does.
I have tried K9 before & unless it's been updated recently there isn't an option to resize an email so that the while mail is displayed at once is there?

Yes, you can pinch to zoom but I'd like to display the whole email on screen at once & then decide which part of the email I'd like to zoom into (if any). K9 & most other Android clients don't allow this. The only app that I've found that can do this at all is the official Hotmail app but the rest of the app is so basic its shocking. It doesn't allow you to always show images & on my current phone its a 3 click process to show images (in every mail you view). It also truncates all mails to a maximum of 100kb do anything over this takes a further 3 clicks to display properly. Very poor.
Try Aquamail. I absolutely love it, and it has all these features. Their mobile view is the main reason I use it. Make sure you pick up the latest beta version 4 here: www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=217
The mobile view used to be incorporated into the appstore version. The developer took it out temporarily, and it is only in the latest beta.
