I have Created this thread for providing Simple Skinning process for your favorite apps i also include OEM apps Skinning Also

Now A brief Description about Simple Skining Dialer
the files dlrback_port and dlrback_land are the background images by replacing this you can change your background image...
the files with up_port and _land are the first look button i mean to say the numbers the speed dial etc
and the files with dwn_port and _land are the buttons when you click on the button this images will display
now i think you got and idea to make create your own files usin photo editors
and save with apropriate name and format and replace it in the windows folder
for rom cooker your can find this files in SYS\dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320\COMMON\Phone_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320
still any problem doing skins please Pm me i will refine it in clear way
HTC ABOUT LOGO
Guys what to change the logo which comes when click on about on htc apps
like audio manager audio booster etc....
just save you file in BMP format and Rename it to HTCABOUTLOGO and paste it in Windows Folder of Gene not On computer
now softreset the default htc logo will be changed with your image.. :

This Tutorial is For Skinning Your Default Media player
to skin you should need a text editor
you can use default notepad or made if you wish to create your skin in Gene
Locate Windows Media player files in following
SYS\dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320\COMMON\MediaOS_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320
You Will Find Following Files
have a look at the files the images are in GIf format and we can classify file in lanscape and portrait format
the landscape files are as follows to make landscape images work
wmp_WPC_player_320x240.skn -> the landscape skin file
Images for landscape files are
wmp_WPC_disabled_Xx240
wmp_WPC_player_320x240
wmp_WPC_pushed_Xx240
and for portrait files are
wmp_WPC_player_240x320.skn - > The Portrait Skin file
Images files
wmp_WPC_disabled_240xY
wmp_WPC_player_240x320
wmp_WPC_pushed_240xY
Other Files are
wmp_WPC_ocx_96dpi.skn
Images are
wmp_WPC_ocx_96dpi
wmp_WPC_SeekThumb_96dpi
I have attached the images and Skin files of OEM Original Windows Media Player
Now To Create Skin for Windows Media Player you can Do it by 2 ways
1 way is by opening the Windows Skin file [wmp_WPC_player_240x320 for portrait and wmp_WPC_player_320x240 for lanscape]
Edit This With Notepad i have attached the Syntax for both portrait and landscape skin file just replace the correct images which you created with the original file in the Skin file and also your can change orientation also
after you change all file name save the file name with as same as the original file that is wmp_WPC_player_240x320 for portrait and wmp_WPC_player_320x240 for lanscape and paste the files with the images in the windows folder if asked for replace replace it. and softreset
2nd Way
the other way is to just replacing the images with the original image and rename it with the original name... thats all now paste it in windows folder
For Cookin Rom
you can replace all files in the SYS\dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320\COMMON\MediaOS_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320 with your files
and cook rom
this will work
i think it is simple to create skin have a look i will upload the original files of windows media player with mediafire
just create the files according to the original one you will get it i think this is as easy as anybody can do any problem pm me i will help you solve your problem

need help regarding backgound and gps

dear jagan am happy to be the member of this thread. but am simple user of HTC p3400 delhi india. i tried to use gif image or any playing image in background but my phone shows only still images. if i set any gif then also image not plays. why so please reply.
and i tried gps software also in my phone. but they shows that no gps in my phone.. how to check whether gps facility is in my phone or not. same with wifi.
i will be very greatful to you if you or any member can help me to make me clear regarding this..

GPS & WiFi are not present in HTC P3400i.
For GIF backgrounds on the lockscreen, install S2U2 & S2V. You can set any GIF or still image as S2U2 wallpaper through S2V with ease.

First of all Welcome to XDA. This Forum that all love to be memeber
And First of For Your Info Gene(P3400i) doesnt have wifi r GPS sadly
Use GOOGLE MAPS which shows some what appropriate location
this is a very nice and it is free
For GIF yes the high mobiles like HTC, ACER doesnt support GIF as wallpaper
but there are many application available for this
Since our Device has low Resource we cannot use this Apps
you Can use S2U2 Developed by 1 of the XDA member a2-s2 its free and can be used Gif image as ScreenSaver....

Jagan, please correct your self here,
GPS, Global positing System, As it applies to phones: Is a piece of hardware which reside's in your phone and connect to the GPS statilite system.
Were as Google Maps is a piece of sofware which takes advantage of GPS hardware ( if represent in phone) to pin point your location. Google MAPS is just a maps application.
Since in Gene there is no GPS hardware, it learns about your location using the CELLTOWER( the mobie service provider tower to which you phone is associated with for that moment) information. Because of is fact Google Maps in gene only shows your location within the 300-1000 mtr radius accuracy.
If Gene had GPS, it would have shown your location accuracy to within few meters radius, say 3-4 meters.
For an alternate to builtin GPS, one can buy external GPS.

To use GPS you need software's like Google Maps, then how both are same ?
GPS = hardware
Google Maps = software

Hello Guys I Have Designed a Useful tool which may help you guys basically it can be called as fix for networks or cellular provider name display.. in some of the networks the network operator name shows in numbers... as per my observations all the numbers which starts with 405... the 405 series is new to India and this update is not provided by hTC so you are not able to get the operator name displayed on gene. installing this cab you will be noticing drastic change in the display...
And also this cab displays all indian operators logo on s2u2....
Please check the screenshot i have provided here to understand more...
This Work is Due to A_C the Developer of S2u2 application

Pavan who guided me some of the network operator which i didn't knew before.
Basically This Fixes the following Networks

And Also Upcoming Videocon... not tested

the operator logo which displays on s2u2 supports all Indian network operator.
