Where to buy spare battery + charger for GSM Hero? - Hero, G2 Touch Accessories

I've been looking for a spare battery and battery charger for my Telus GSM Hero but all of the ones I found say they're for the Sprint version. I'd like to get OEM if possible, or the highest quality standard capacity ones. Does anyone know where to buy these?

Hey,
Not wanting to promote any site orso but i bought an charger + battery upgrade from this site :
http://www.oddsandpods.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=hero&x=0&y=0
Hope it helps.

look on ebay, they have tons for really cheap (including shipping).
i got an oem battery for ~$6(including shipping) for my telus hero shipped to edmonton.
chargers should be ~$3 or less (did not order as i have a few of these already from various electronics)

Which one works with the Telus Hero? Is it one of these - http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-BATTERY-For...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item5885d6d4e7 or http://cgi.ebay.com/for-HTC-HERO-TO...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item439d46186d ? It says "Hero G3" and I thought the Hero was the G2.

In some markets, I believe the Magic was called the G2. As long as it's a GSM Hero battery you should be fine.
Regards,
Dave

My friend just said the battery for the GSM Hero is exactly the same as the Sprint Hero's, anyone know if that's true?

no sure about this part...
if your not getting an OEM battery, you can just get a GSM hero battery just to be safe?
but as for the OEM hero battery, look at the pictures supplied by the seller and they should show the battery part number (ie for my telus hero - Part no. 35H00121-05M) and look exactly like the one you have.

I know, I've been trying to do that, for example if you search on ebay "gsm hero battery" there are only 4 results (whereas there's hundreds that say "sprint"). Also "gsm hero battery charger" has no results.

LOL, 2nd result from searching 'htc hero OEM' @ Approximately C $5.43(including shipping)...
and for the battery charger, same thing, try "htc hero battery charger":
here's the cheapest result (including shipping) @ Approximately C $4.06 (including shipping). but i suggest if you getting one of these, you might as well just get the phone dock (dock for phone) that also has a battery charger.

No it isn't. Since the Sprint Hero battery is 1550 mAh, I asked Sprint Hero owners to confirm the physical dimensions of their batteries, and it turns out that the Sprint Heros battery is slightly wider so wouldn't fit in a GSM Hero.

Thanks for finding that battery. For the charger, how do you know if that's the right one for the GSM and not the Sprint version?

possible to put a 8525 AT&T version in a HTC branded HERMES?

Have to swap out a motherboard in my basically pristine HERM200 branded HTC are the AT&T versions interchangable? GSM radio is VERY tempermental - sometimes it will turn on - reboot NO GSM - pull battery and it shows up again. Also when it does run it will start signal hunting after a few hours on - then NO GSM. Also flashing even with SD cards can be pretty scary - sometimes it will complete - othertimes it seems to be hard stuck.
Trying to find a HTC branded TYTN motherboard - even on eBay is pretty hard unless someone has a source.
Forget finding a motherboard... Just get a cheap one that doesn't have the no gsm error. Most parts of the Hermes are interchangeable. I've got a frankenphone myself - cannibalized 2 different phones to make 1, however I was lucky enough to get 2 the same. Even so, most of the internals of the Hermes are the same, its just the cases that have cosmetic differences (heard of problems with LCDs). If you're gonna swap out mainboards, I don't see any problem.
Just remember to backup all your data as this is stored on the mainboard.
Cheers...

Egh, just get a used core Hermes, its no more than $95 on ebay.
Thanks, wasn't exactly sure since mine has the front facing camera and the At&t/Cingulars don't. Also there is a difference with some of the other internals. The main flex cable on some is black in color and the connector to the lcd is also different.
Was doing some checking into ordering a new Flex cable and thats what I found.

I was reading it and noticed it says we have HDMI-out on this phone. I was going to remove that little bit, but then I wasn't sure if there really was HDMI out through some USB adapter that I'm not aware of, or if it means an actual mini/micro HDMI port on the phone itself (which I know does not exist).
Maybe that needs to be fixed/clarified?
Also, made some edits anyway though.

Oh using that adapter. So technically, the Titan does not have any HDMI out, it just has DLNA out. That adapter only connects to a tv and turns a regular TV into a DLNA device.
I am guessing what you were talking about is MHL. I have no idea if that exists in this phone or if it is at the moment Only Android phones with this but MHL adapters IF this phone has that ability convert Micro-Usb to HDMI through the Micro-USB Charge Port.
Thanks Ganja! Great work man!
I noticed that the wiki states that the Titan battery is interchangeable with that of the Evo and the Amaze. I need an additional battery and a remote charger for my Titan so I was shopping when I noticed a slight difference in the specifications.
The OEM battery in my (AT&T) Titan is 3.8VDC. With no exceptions, all of the batteries for the Evo and the Amaze are 3.7VDC. I’m not smart enough to know if this difference is significant. In the event that someone has already done the research, I didn’t want to amend the wiki.
Do you happen to know the answer to this, or would you know how we can find out if it is completely cool to swap batteries with slightly different specifications?
Thanks again,
Dave

I'm the one that actually added that bit in there. I had already done some research on the batteries for the Amaze and Evo, and found OEM ones that run at both 3.8VDC and 3.7VDC (most 3.8VDC). Actually, a 3.8VDC HTC EVO 3D battery is what I am using inside of my Titan at the moment.
That being said, the very minor VDC difference between 3.8VDC and 3.7VDC should not have any impact on how it performs in the phone, unless the battery is some piece of junk from a third party or something (which I would never buy to begin with). There should be no problems with the using the batteries at all. Historically with HTC products, they tend to make many devices that have batteries that are interchangeable despite the minor VDC/mAh differences.

Is your EVO 3D 3.8V battery the original one that came with your EVO 3D with model number BG86100 and is 1730mAh? If yes, does your Titan charge it and display the remaining charge correctly?

The battery I ordered from Amazon actually, but it matches that model number and the specs you list, and charges perfectly fine and shows what I believe to be an accurate remaining charge.
The OEM battery in my HTC Titan is 3.8VDC.
The battery EVO 3D i have bought is 3.8VDC.
I just made a minor change in the FAQ.
The correct length for Ringtone is under 39s, not 40s.
People said it "under 40s" but all my ringtones are set to 38.99s in order to make it work
and i have a question about the batterry, you can put a same-size HTC-OEM 1730mAh on it? Where can i buy this?
OK, I know this is a real non-tech type question, but having just read that HTC/ATT will be releasing the Radiant, a LTE enabled phone, can someone clue me in on how this will differ from the Titan on AT&T? My connection to AT&T usually shows as "4G" on my Titan, so I'm not sure what kind of advancement the Radiant will represent.

4G and 4G LTE are two different types of network technologies.
Let's just say that 4G LTE would be a world of difference compared to regular 4G, especially since 4G is not really 4G at all, just an improved version of 3G, but it is marketed as 4G.
4G LTE is the technology that Verizon currently uses on its 4G phones. Data speeds are absolutely off the charts (in most cases).

I bought one off of Amazon.com, but I'm sure you can get it anywhere HTC accessories/batteries are sold. Just buy a battery for an EVO 3D or Amaze.

Battery BA S590 (EVO) in Titan
Dear friends,
I ordered an original HTC EVo battery for my Titan, so it can benefit from the extra 10% of juice.
But the phone shows a question mark in the battery level indicator when I installed the battery doesn't seem to charge the battery.
Is there any workarround?

Why Does Verizon have it's own Battery?

I notice on Samsung's website you can buy either a
Galaxy Note™ II Standard Battery (3100mA)http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB595675LABXAR
or
Galaxy Note™ II Standard Battery (3100mA) (Verizon & US Cellular)http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EB595675LZBXAR
I was just wondering if anybody had any insight of what the differences could be, thanks in advance.
I have the US Cellular one (which that non-standard battery is supposed to cover).
Same mAh, same voltage. Obviously they used the same stock photo for both on that site. Could be pin positioning or form factor. We'd have to get a Verizon/USCC battery beside another type's to see.
Part Number on each match... My guess is that it's the same battery.
My guess would be that it's similar to the Galaxy Nexus. The battery is positioned slightly different in the phone, so it needs a different size or pin position to work with the layout. Anyone have actual pictures of both batteries side by side for comparison?
I hope they are the same, because I was going to order the charging kit which I guess comes with the standard battery. Meh, I'm getting it on Verizon so I unfortunately have plenty of time to call and check just to be sure.
I'm not positive, but when I had my Droid I think the battery placement was different, like stated above. However, this was due to the lack of a sim card so the position was slightly different. Upon looking at the photos of the note 2 sim slot, it doesn't look like this would be an issue.
However, it is Verizon, so maybe they made a slightly different battery to put in some more proprietary logos.
The part numbers are the same so I would assume they were the same (but possibly with a different pin position).
Another possibility is that the Verizon version will have NFC in the battery like the S3 vs having it in the battery door like the rest of the Note2 versions.
Okay, this will leak soon anyways so I might as well just post it up here.
Verizon's battery is actually very different than the other carrier's versions. I'm a Senior Customer Experience Manager within Verizon's corporate structure. The company has made some major breakthroughs regarding power management and they will be showcased first on the Galaxy Note 2 from Samsung.
I know this is hard to believe but read through and you'll understand. Verizon's Galaxy Note 2 battery is actually charged with sound in a way. It sounds farfetched, but I'll tell you how it works. The battery has a copper charging coil similar to other wireless charging standards, the hardware is tuned to a very specific frequency which you can reach specifically when you scream the phrase "VERIZON WIRELESS" in an open, public area. Unfortunately, due to the light in the VZW branded home button(which can be seen from space), the battery discharges pretty much immediately during use, but the good news is this. As long as you keep screaming "VERIZON WIRELESS" at the top of your lungs in crowded public areas without stopping for more than 2 seconds at a time, the phone maintains a charge! Like MAGIC! Amazing! You can also buy an $80 conveinence adapter that verizon has designed in conjunction with samsung. Another first in the field of consumer electronics, it's a suppository! You place the adapter inside your a%&hole and power is generated off of the energy being depleted from your broken spirit as a verizon customer! All of this will be released with the note in 3-7 months, this is of course after the delays we will experience due to branding and wiring the home buttons.
We at Verizon really wish you as customers didn't demand home button branding so we could get these out to you faster, but we are happy to do anything and everything we can to fulfill our customers slightest whim.

EB595675LZBXAR = Verizon/USCellular version
EB595675LABXAR = Standard version
With the price being the same, I couldn't imagine there being much difference feature-wise. My guess would be that they're keeping them separate simply for initial supply reasons.

Yes. But it looks like all the other batteries follow the same pattern. If it's a Verizon battery it has a Z in that spot vs the "regular" one has an A. Not sure what it means but it's different for a reason I'm sure. Even if the battery is identical, could just be a distribution thing.

Some past VZW phones have had device specific batteries, but some other versions did work with it, even though they had a different number on them.
I just ordered the charger and battery combo from Samsung and it says it's compatible with Sprint, t-mobile, Verizon, US Cellular and AT&T. So this sucker better work with the Verizon model. I wanted to take advantage of the 50% off.

I too am considering the extra battery/charger combo and maybe one other accessory from Samsung's site with the 50% off promo. Funny how the battery alone costs the same as the battery w/ charger unit.

Hello guys.. I need your urgent help regarding the problem i am facing with my s2 sgh-i777.

Well i have a EB-F1A2GBU battery installed in my phone. But some people say that its not the perfect battery for my sgh-i777. According to them it must be EB-L1A2GBA model. So please help me to find out if all this is happening due to this different battery model or it is the fault of my phone. So that i can troubleshoot it more effectively and efficiently.
My phone is running on 2.3.6 android and its not rooted!
The phone is imported and i'm using it here in india.
So its easy to understand that not much professional help is available here for this model.
Please let me know what you guys think as its gonna help me a lot!
Thankyou.

The original stock battery out of my phone is EB-L1A2GBA. It's two years old now and losing capacity, so I purchased a replacement from ebay. The replacement was inexpensive, US $3.75. The seller ships internationally for US $1.75 extra postage. It does not have a part number on the label, but is labeled as a replacement for the I-777 at 3.7VDC, 2200mAh. I've only had it a few days, but it seems to work normally. Maybe you could purchase this, or something similar an try it to see if that is your problem.

not available even there!
Thanks @azeem40, but this model's standard 1650mAh battery isn't available on ebay.in also
I bought a newEB-F1A2GBU battery again yesterday just to see whether this new battery works out for me or not.. Ans surprisingly it dint turn off my phone at 37-38% but as soon as i connected my charger with the phonr, the phone turned off and gave me unlimited number of boots showing battery cycle rotating and disappearing!
I have also checked amazon.in but they also dont offer the oem battery. They sell extended batteries of 3650mAh for my model but they are just too expensive. It costs 3000rs,which isnt affordable!
Now if i dont get a L1A2GBA battery, i'll have to sell my phone out!

Ya bro but if i keepnusing this battery then it shuts down my phone when it reaches around 30-40%. And if i buy new EB-F1A2GBU battery then it reboots again and again while charging. It gets into a continuos boot loop.
Now i guess i'll have to either adjust up with this problem or sellnout the phone at a cheaper rate!

Sorry for a bit of necro-posting, but this is coming up as a prominent post so I figured I'd respond.
I just recently got a great price on a new battery for my Photon. I don't know where this company ships, so you'll have to look into that yourselves (or whomever else reads this).
(Bah.. I have too few posts, so this is not allowing me to post external links. The site is www .a4c. com (without spaces) and you can go search for "Motorola HF5X battery" to bring up the couple products I saw)
At the time of this posting, they had the battery for $2.95 each, as well as an option to get a wall charger and battery for $4.95. Great prices and delivery/service was excellent.
To be clear, the battery is "HF5X" model.
