I have the Nokia HS-12W bluetooth headset which has a lcd sceen and it works fine with the HTC HD as a headset for the calls and music
it shows the phone number that calls me but it doesn't show the caller's name

Short press the MFR button (Multi Function Button with the Motorola Logo), speak name, and the phone will dial the call
did it work for any one ?
Wireless Stereo and Hands Free are both enabled . is ther any other requirement ?
it doesnt have a microphone so no, although it can activate calls on the phone.
what i used to do was pick the call up and talk into the phone, i just got the Nokia BH-501 headset which has a built in mic but i miss my extra hang up and connect call buttons from the HT820.
i can use it as a handsfree headset and can answer incoming calls , so it does have a mic
Its juz that i cant give voice command over bluetooth 4 some reason
yeah i know i noticed that as well except i dont think its the headset that does that just the phone that sees the command and puts the voice recon app into action.
the HT820's are good but not mic good.
Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a bluetooth headset (like Jabra BT3030) and I'd like to know if there is the possibility to handle caller id (es. a voice that tells you in the headset the caller ID) with all the headset that don't have a display. This because having a wireless bt headset and still having to get the phone from the bag is a big issue if you bought it because it's wireless...
thanks
My I-tech Clip Radio and car stereo both work over bluetooth and display the caller id so I don't see why any other decent bluetooth headset shouldn't be able to display the caller id.
The only thing I've not been able to display is id3 tags over bluetooth.
My doubt was about headset without display
I don't know, but MS voice commander might do this over BT. It will certainly announce callers names if they are in your contacts so it might announce the number.
I've never tried it over BT, have a look - maybe it will do what you need.
MSVC when working properly does announce who is calling, also reads your sms's and announces appointments, emails via bluetooth.
I don't know if it exists but...
When I have my bluetooth headset on and my phone is ringing, I can't understand who is calling (if my phone is in my BIG bag)...
Does exist an app for changing tone with a Bluetooth headset connected, that ring in my ear with the name? I mean, like old Nokia metallic voice
Thank you!!!
I don't know whether it will work only when a BT headset is connected, and not at other times, but, there are a lot of apps on the market that can read out the contacts name. (Another missing feature on Android, that was there in all Nokia's...)

Hi,
Recent owner of Galaxy S3 and I'm having the first big problem. After successfull pairing my BH 803 Nokia bluetooth headset i could instantly hear myself even without dialing any number. When I have tried to make a call i could only hear myself, the other party did hear the phone ringing but not my voice. Tried with another model of bleutooth headset, same result. Successfull pairing and contacts sync with my MKi9100 Parrot carkit too, but when i have tried to call somebody with the usual voice dial nothing happened. After looking at the S3 screen i saw this action started S Voice. Any suggestion ? Thanks in advance !
Later edit: After disabling S Voice, working flawlessly with the Parrot carkit voice dial command. Restartind, deleting and pairing again with both Nokia BH 803 and BH 208 headset models did not solve the problem of hearing myself.
I am experiencing the following problem with my GT-S5282:
Even though both music and normal calls are transmited just fine to the Bluetouth headset (MW600), there is no voice when making a VoIP call (I am using the build-in Andoid's SIP support). The headset is showing the time of the call and allows to end it and so on, but there is no sound. VoIP works fine on GT-S5282 without the headset and I didn't have this problem with the same headset on HTC Incredible S.
Probably the same problem as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/skype-viber-voip-bluetooth-headset-t2405497
