1- you need a file called smart.upr at the root of your tf card
2- turn your phone completly off
3- hold the green and red button and press power
4- the phone should go into tf update mode and you should see a green progress bar.
5- when completed (depending on wich rom version you installed) press action button, power button or reset button to restart your phone.
*Make sure you have the right smart.upr file...the t4242+ one.
Hope this helps

Are you holding the volume up button in before you press the power (End) button? That's how it needs to be done in order to get into recovery mode. In other words, press and hold the volume up button, momentarily press the End button (long enough for it to turn on), then after it's on, let go of the volume up button. It should go into recovery shortly after turning on.

Hello,
What version of stock rom do you have?
Did you try go to a recovery menu with already inserted sd card?
Regards,
headblow
i've ...2.2.5.0131 ,i've updated before i read some post about that update :-(.
And yes.i've tried every instructions what i found and too tried it with inserted with SD card.
Now i read some article,then i must re-write recovery image,is it right?
And if is,how can i do it?
Now you have the answer, you can't install foliomod this way on 2.2.5.0131.
In order to get foliomod on this version, you need to do following things,

Hi.
Please can developers provide a clean custom ROM for Alcatel OT-890D dual SIM phone..
I need it badly because i feel the phone became slow some how and the internal memory just about 20 MB free .. even when i moved all apps to the SD card the max. memory i got was 40 MB ... i tried everything to solve it and nothing happened...
I rooted it before and installed superuser on it...
I need to try a custom clean rom on it.. like i used to do with my HTC Touch 3G and its custom clean ROMs , they do a big difference for the device performance....
Thanks..

Hi, I just bought this Alcatel 890d phone a couple of weeks ago. Is it possible to upgrade its software to Gingerbread or higher Android version? Could you please help us.. Thanks
One week ago i bought my first smartphone, Samsung I9001, i had no ideea what to do with it, so when i connected it to my laptop via Kies it asked me if i want to upgrade my firmware. I did it and at 3% stoped working. So i searched the web for solutions, i found that Odin program, and i installed android 2.3.6. I was really happy that i solved the problem, but then i found out that my warranty could be lost because i rooted my phone, and it apears also in Menu-About Phone-Kernel Version. So now i dont know how to unroot it, and install an official firmware, and what version of the firmware do i need, to have my warranty back. Please i need some help!
From this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253707
To UNROOT
Put UnRoot-i9001-Signed.zip into internal sdcard
Reboot into Recovery mode
Use Volume buttons to choose apply update from sdcard in Recovery Menu.
Press Home button to submit.
Use Volume buttons to choose UnRoot-i9001-Signed.zip on sdcard
Press Home button to start update.
1 second and Root is gone.
Choose reboot system now and press Home button to reboot your phone.
And about your rom, do you have a cooked rom or a stock one?

Thank you a lot! I will try that as soon as possible.
And about my rom, i don't know if it's cooked or stock, but i have the filename, is GT-I9001_VDH_I9001XXKPS_I9001OXXKP5_I9001XXKPG .
And i was hoping if you can tell me what rom to install, so i can be able to use my warranty. Or if i will do what you wrote, i won't need to install another rom? Thanks!
i successfully entered in recovery mode, unrooted my phone, but in menu/about phone the kernel version still says [email protected] so i am worried if i take it to service, the wont fix my phone, because my warranty will not be available. so can someone tell me if this is true. my phone doesn't vibrate anymore since i rooted it.
please someone help me
Thanks, just what I needed.
helped me 2, i needed to send it to warranty, just couldn't send it rooted.

Thanks in advice.
What recovery exactly ? In other words, we can't give you any idea of what you can possibly try next unless you tell us precisely what you did.

Perhaps a silly question, but was your phone definitely on 4.1.2 at the time?
Personally I prefer the root methods using Odin - you get a lot more feedback as to whether or not things are working.

Yes it was, but I did't notice that tutorial is for S2 I9100G, because mine is S2 I9100. By the way, is there a chance that usb jig could fix this? Because Im losing hope to start it manually..
You've flashed firmware for a different device, this is why your phone is dead. Take it to someone who does JTAG's, it may be JTAG'able. If a JTAG doesn't work replace motherboard - either a new one by Samsung service centre (expensive) or a 2nd hand one you source yourself & pay a local mobile repair shop to swap (cheaper).

Thank you! And what about usb jig, should I try it?
Of course, given they only cost a couple of bucks on eBay you don't have anything to lose. This might be the 1 in 10,000 where it works in this situation for whatever magical reason. But you do need to be realistic/manage your expectations & buy one expecting it won't work.
Since its dead/bricked, try what ever is neccessary to turn it on. Does the recovery mode work? If it does try to update/flash a stock official firmware for your phone. Do what ever is necessary or get ready to pay for some bucks at the local repair shop.
