Hi All,
I've been combing the forums for a number of days to see if I could find some help to a bluetooth pairing prob, but have yet to find what I'm looking for.
I have a new t-mobile mda that has been flashed to the latest 2.24 ROM (yes, i know it's a beta rom). I also have a Motorola H700. I can get the phone to see my laptop just fine, but it won't even detect the headset. I've looked around motorola's website, but it's less than helpful. I'm really hoping my new headset isn't DOA. It charges fine, but never enters pairing mode. I don't have another bluetooth enabled phone to test it with. I'm really hoping someone can offer some suggestions.
Thank so much!
im using an h700 i got from ebay for 35 bucks on my tmobile mda (2.17 qtek rom) and it pairs just fine. does your led stay in constant purple? that means it should be pairing. i dont see any reason why the phone can't detect the headset. are you sure the headset is entering pairing mode correctly? remember that after awhile itll exit pairing mode on its own. just a thought.
No, i have yet to get the thing into pairing mode (as i mentioned earlier ). Is there some way to force the headset to do so? Thanks!
Problem fixed. A little reg tweaking and the proper application of buttons & viola!, headest works fine.
care to share how u did that? cuz i have the same headset and i cant get it working either!
I have a Pioneer AVIC-D3 with a CD-BTB200 bluetooth kit that will allow me (technically) to broadcast bluetooth music to my headunit, and also to use as a handsfree through the stereo. Has anyone done this before? On the AVIC411 forums, a lot of people have had some serious issues with WM6 and synchronicity, but some people have downloaded JetWARE and been able to use one function or the other.
Any input would be awesome.
Ok...it seems no one else cares, but I got it to work with the phone functionality. It's rather cool sounding, and I like it a lot. The only problem I'm running into currently is that I can only send my contacts across one at a time, which is kinda lame.
question
do u mean u can play music in ur car, as long as the car is bluetooth enabled?
thats great..i dont have a car with that yet.. but i plan to, and thats great to know.. thanks

So you got it working. with out any bugs,
Try this: in the registry of your device HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\SYS\COD
change the value to 5374476 (DEC). That helped me. The Phone changes in bluetooth to a smartphone (I don't know the difference to WM5-6.1).
I used jetwaremobile.com and downloaded the hands free config profiles onto my wing and it works fine.
Does anyone use a remote with their Hero. The one bundled doesn't seem to control music playback, and I'd like to use my own headphones.
The official one from HTC looks good. But are there other options?

Just for the record, RC E100 doesn't work properly with Hero. The phone detects it as a headset with microphone, but the sound is mono and none of the buttons work.
According to the HTC tech support, they're not aware about any RC E100 driver release for Hero in the nearest future.
Thanks for the warning.
Are there any remotes that do work with the Hero?
Sorry, no. I'm happy with my Sony HDH DS-970 Bluetooth headset, and I'm not really looking into any wired replacements.
E100 Remote - works with Tmobile G2
Hey all,
I had the old HTC Diamond until I moved to the world of Android, I cant believe I have not had a crash yet, with my winmo device had to restart everyday nearly. Anyways, I digress, with the Diamond I purchased the HTC E100 remote.
I would like to say I am happily using it with the HTC Tmobile G2(Hero) phone without any issues, volume keys work great, can change music tracks without any problems and able to receive and end calls with the mic. Just though I will let you all know that it does work !
Weird. It definitely doesn't work properly for me.

Are you able to control other applications, such as last.fm, using the remote?
Update: It seems the previous remote I was testing was faulty. I just tested a brand new RC E100 and it worked perfectly fine with Hero out of the box, so now I'm thinking about getting one myself, if I could only find some good earphones that could match HDH DS-970's quality of sound.
I haven't tested it with anything else but the default Music Player though.
I have just purchased a RC E100 Remote Control unit for my HTC Hero but am getting the same problems as previously mentioned on here.
While the answer/hang-up and volume control buttons on the remote work fine, the media control buttons (play/pause and skip-forward/skip-backward) buttons do absolutely nothing at all. While there is a CD included containing drivers for Windows Mobile phones, there are no drivers for Android so I'm not sure if this means that the remote is supposed to work natively with Android
The RC E100 is advertised on the HTC website as being a compatible accessory for the HTC Hero so I assume it must be possible to get it to work properly with this phone in some way.
I emailed HTC support a couple of days to try and get an answer on this (no reply yet) but would be interested to know how other people have managed to get the RC E100 working with the HTC Hero because from this thread it appears that this remote does work with these phones.
I'm running on the latest version of the ROM (v2.73.405.5) so I'm not sure if that makes any difference (i.e. remote control of the audio functions have maybe been "broken" in this ROM)??
I use the HTC E100 remote with my Hero (modaco 2.8 rom). Every button is functional and sound is great

Can you possibly tell me what the exact part number of the remote is (shown next to "P/N:" on the side of the box). And is "HTC Hero" listed as a phone model on the side of your box? The part number on the side of my box is "66H00001-13M".
Even though the RC E100 is listed by HTC as a compatible Hero accessory, on the side of the box I received the Hero isn't listed as one of the phone models that the remote will work with. I'm beginning to wonder if there is actually more than one version of these remotes whereby maybe only later versions will work with the HTC Hero

I have same part no: 66H00001-13M, Hero not listed as compatible. I use android stock music app, and meridian is fully functional with RCE100 too.
Works just fine for me.
Have the White GSM Hero and the HTC EC E100 (White) works perfect. All buttons and stereo work excellent.
It however does not work with an adapter like the 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 charger, headphone, sync. I was hoping to hook this remote up in my car while charging it and it does not seem to be possible. Remote works by itself just fine though.
Hmmmmm. I'm trying to use mine with the standard music app as well. Are there any settings on the phone that might need to be enabled (or ones that I might have inadvertantly disabled)?
If not then maybe I do actually have a duff remote. I guess all I can do in thay case is to try and get it replaced and see if a new one is any better.
Thanks for the help

Unfortunately not...I really wish it was that simple. The mute button on the side also isn't doing anything either
It's a shame I don't know anyone else with an HTC phone to try it on because I'm now paranoid that the problem is actually with the phone and not the remote. I guess I'll only know for sure by sending the remote back and getting a replacement sent to me.
I've just got this remote to use on my Hero / G2 and the remote is detected as a headset, the volume, back/forward and pickup/end call buttons are working fine, however the play/pause and mute buttons do nothing at all.
I'm running the latest official T-Mobile ROM (build 2.73.110.26).
Anyone got any ideas / suggestions as without play/pause working it's pretty useless!

actually, i got this one as well, and it works perfectly (play music, answer calls etc.)
it worked perfectly when i used the stock 2.73 rom, and it still works perfectly with modaco's 3.0 rom
what's also nice is that you can actually use 2 headphones at the same time by plugging in the wired remote control in the extusb, and the standard HTC earphones in the 3.5mm jack (although only the buttons on the standard HTC 3.5mm earphones will work when doing this)

I've currently got an open "ticket" with HTC about this issue but they're not being very helpful or quick with their responses to be honest. I submitted the original details of the problem to them 6 weeks ago but they still haven't given me any real help or possible resolutions. After 4 weeks of communication back and forth they eventually told me to just look on the list of compatible products for the HTC Hero I politely informed them that I had already done that before I ordered the remote. Apparently my problem is being urgently investigated but the last reply I had from them was over 2 weeks ago so it clearly isn't that urgent to them. It seems to me that they actually have no idea why.
The supplier of the remote didn't want to give me a replacement and just told me to get in contact with HTC for a resolution. This is dragging on far too long now so it looks like I'm going to have to go back to the supplier and demand they give me a refund.
This remote seems very hit and miss with the HTC Hero and I can't understand why some people can get all buttons on them to work perfectly fine while others have issues with some of the buttons not working even when those different people are running the same ROM

I have RC E100 and it works flawlessly with my Hero. All the buttons work, mute button and LED work, mic works. FLAWLESSLY. What the hell others are talking, I have no idea.
P.S.: it's a GSM brown original Hero
i have the samsung note AT&T with ICS 4.0.3 and i cannot answer my calls from the MOTOACTV or return calls from it. the call back button is grey out i can't press it to received calls or to call back. i also have the motorola sf600 bluetooth , i can see the call on the device but i can't answer from it i have to use the button on the bluetooth to answer my calls.
I have a MOTOACTV and did some testing last night using my Note and my Motorola Atrix.
I have a bluetooth headset, and after connecting it I could not answer calls using the MOTOACTV with EITHER phone. I then connected a wired headset and was able to answer calls using the MOTOACTV, but only on the Atrix, not on the Note.
Just curious--did you install the hacked app before Moto released the new app that is supposed to work on any phone?
I tried it with my Gnote and I coulldnt get ANY notifications from the phone at all. And yes its connected. I have tried both the modified version and the newest version of the motoactv app. I also clicked yes and no when deciding what phone I have. ie with motorola phone ver2.1+.
My motoactv is rooted with Cleardroid 1.1.2A rom. Firmware version is 1.1.6. Any help to even get the SMS notification would be greatly appreciated.
Updated: Turns out Handscent SMS is not supported. Now I can see notifications, calling and text. However I cannot answer through the motoactv. I dont even know if i can do that...Any answer would help.
i have since returned my to bestbuy
i don't think it's possible to get all the fuctions working if you don't have a motorola phone. i gave up i went and got all my money back from them. **** this, i'll wait for samsung to come out with one that does with everything or at lease works with samsung phones.i'm not about to buy a motorola phone just to get this thing to work lol.
I have been using the Sony Smartwatch for the last week on the note and been working great! love it! havent charged it in 5 days!
yep the Sony watch looks nice but it is really a different device than the Motoactv.
Primarily the Motoactv has a GPS. I the Moto for golf, marathon training and bicycling. It has wifi auto connectivity and upload and auto sensor connections to Heartrate monitor, bicycle cadence, etc.
It does have a few software issues such as interval training, short battery life, and i can't get it to work at all via bluetooth with my Note. IT connects but that's it...no messages, etc. LUCKILY the problem areas aren't of interest to me but I can see where it is frustrating for those who do need those features.
For my activities...golf, running, bicycling...it's awesome. Was the gorilla glass since it can break...just like smartphones.
where did you get from ?

Have you tried using the earphones that came with the device? (ie. sf200)
Also try this: Go to bluetooth settings on the Note and click on the Motoactv. It should say something like "Connected to phone audio" under the device name. That's how I got my wired earphones to work. For some reason it doesn't automatically connect.
Haven't tried it with a bluetooth headset though.
Sorry for posting here. Old thread, but I think this is going to help.
Tried this with My S3 and my motoactv and worked well. You have to sync your headset to your motoactv AND your gnote.
bit . ly / OaSFJQ (put it together, cant post links 'cause im a newbie)
Not what I wanted but It works and I can answer calls right from the Headset (i'm using a jaybird freedom btw)

Sorry this is a reply to an old post, but I was really interested in getting the Sony Smartwatch but was a little let down when the site sad it would only work with certain phones and the Note wasnt listed. Have you have any issues?
Hi All,
I am not sure that it is the right place to ask a question on this subject, but I didn't see a better one.
I have a Samsung WEP410 BT headset that I used on my old HTC TP2 under WM6.5 and I tried to use it on my new Galaxy S3. All is OK for the phone, but I am unable to get other sounds from other apps (mainly GPS apps). I had some trouble with my preceding old HTC Raphael which was fixed with a special patch I found on XDA and it worked very well with my TP2, but I thought that this trouble was definitely fixed and became standard. I am a beginner with Android, perhaps I have missed something, please be indulgent...
Many thanks for helping.
BR.
I answer to me because it could help someone else. It is always the same reason: the profile of the WEP 410 is HFP or HSP, it means only the telephone sound are routed to the headset. On WinMob it was possible to reroute all sounds to the headset, but with ICS on S3 it seems to be impossible. I tried all softwares from the market, but none was working.
Finally I bought a new BT headset (Plantronics M50) with an A2DP profile, and all is working well.
So, the trouble is fixed.
