"Application not installed"

Hi guys, I've got the phone since two weeks but that's not my first android phone.
The point is, when I want to install apks on my phone like "Cordy" or the THD's games , i've automatically got an error like " Application not installed", I wanted to try Chainfire 3D on the phone and also can play THD's games.
If you have the same issues and a solution to give, plz reply .
Thx for help guys.
Ataraxi.
Do you have SD card in the phone...?
Yes ^^, i have not the error for every apk's i try to install, just for some which unfoturnatly i want most ^^
It can be because of CPU is ARMv6... like firefox or google earth cant be installed also...
I'm not sure because i can install flash player apk but even if I can't use it, I can install it...
Happens to me all the time. It's so annoying because it doesn't give a reason it just wont install and won't work. I hate it so much, it were as if I were on an apple device
As far as chainfire is concerned, it requires a rooted phone. Is ur phone rooted?
My SGA is rooted and I get the exact error with most of the popular apps and games
I can't even install Angry Birds :S
Probably it's problem with your SD card. Try witch other one.
i guess if it's the problem with sdcard, then they wud have got the error message stating 'cannot install on usb storage or sd card' something like that ... then too u can try formatting your sd card (i assume backing up ur sd card is an implied sense ) and try again...
Look for a file named "smdl2tmp1.asec "
Can be in /sdcard/.android_secure or /mnt/secure/asec/
Its a tempfile and can be deleted or if you are unsure just rename it or move it.
After that problem should be gone.
Thanks for reply but 've already tried this without any success.. I found that some games are made for arm v7 processor also we can't install them... shame because our gpu and our processor can support many games...
Sometimes i get the error and a retry solve the problem.. maybe gingerbread is the solution .. hope so

Fail Android Recovery causes Android Market Bug?

Hello.
I have XXJL2 December soft and my Movinand Android got Market Bug (i can't download apps). When I installed my port, Android Recovery was getting this messages:
http://i51.tinypic.com/2wnzk87.jpg
http://i55.tinypic.com/swv091.jpg
Maybe this bugs causes my Android Market bug?
Please reply what You guys think.
Cheers.
It always looked/looks like this, this is not the cause for Android Market bug. You have too less internal space, that's the problem.
I can't even download 1 app (~1mb) from market, so i dont think my problem is internal memory. Any other ideas?
Try to reinstall it?
First remove android with the recovery mode, then install it again?
How to open recovery mode?
BTW it's my second Android on this phone and nothing changes (both movinand).

You don't need to remove it before re-install.
The remove code is also in the mkext2images.sh file.
(First it removes data & cache files if android already exists, and recreates new ones)
I'm totaly pissed. I've update Android Market from 2.1.2 to 2.2.7 and problem is the same...
Did you try to delete google services framwork's datas in the settings / app menu ?
I had the same problem before doing that.

Jesus. If you're a newbie don't even dare to edit this script.
Rulistaff meant that the script will erase previous version, and then install the new one.
BTW. This file can be easily edited even by notepad, but please, don't mess with it as long as you're not absolutelly sure what you're doing.
Excellently, I wanna repair my Android Market and get solution for this problem (many others people have this issue).

Agreed. This seems too less storage space
You may try the filesystem that "mylove90" posted in the tutorial thread:

[Q] Paranoidandroid problems

So, I've switched to Paranoidandroid from CheckROM, which means that I've done rerooting and installing of ICS via ODIN. Afterwards, I've installed Paranoidandroid ROM v0.6 and HYBRID Gapps and done the rest of the instructions.
I don't know if I've done something wrong in the process (or I'm just a noob), but after few minutes of working and figuring things out, the screen just goes off and animations comes up (I think it's looping) that is similar to boot animation (but it's not bootloop since I was already at the homescreen).
So is there any way to disable/fix that?
I also have problems with connecting to WiFi (gets stuck at Obtaining IP Address) and my wallpaper also went missing and I couldn't set a new one.
Oh yea, I also couldn't find External SD files in Gallery? I seen it's in some folder emmt or something like that, but why it isn't placed in it's default /mnt/sdcard/ext_sdcard/?
Thank you!
P.S.
Oh yeah, sorry for an inappropriate use of grammar, hope you will understand what I meant to say
EDIT:
I also cannot reboot or power off my mobile phone, only if I take out the battery -.-
Full wipe and re flash fails then re download the firmware and re falsh .
jje
I've already tried wipe data/factory reset and reinstall Parandroid ROM + HYBRID Gapps. Or you meant that I should flash ICS Stock again and then flash Parandroid?
EDIT:
I'm flashing Firmware atm (Nordic Countries one). So I should add CF Root afterwards and then reflash Parandroid and it's stuff?
Tried it, I still get that animation loop after few minutes of usage =/!
(Had to post here since I can't post it at Development)
Did you try redownloading the rom, if not then redownload paranoid rom and then reflash it.
Re download, do the corresponding wipes, re flash, fix permissions just in case.,.
Should work
Thank you on your responses, I will try it asap and provide further info about it.
EDIT:
Redownload and reflash didn't work out =/!
this called hot reboot, I guess you need to format your internal sd card, use odin to flash the stock firmware, then flash the rom you like. And by the way, your external sd card is located in emmc, you can use an app called directory bind to bind emmc as external sd card, search the forum , you can find the instruction to use the app.

hello.
It's a known issue . Response from the original thread:
set phone and contact apps to 240 (custom DPI) or more simply to "Phone DPI".
It solves the problem.
cheers.

[Q] Problems after Jelly Bean!!

Hi everyone this is my first post here so be kind.
I updates to Jelly Bean a while ago and am experiencing some niggles, not sure if they are all JB related or not so I thought I'd ask the experts.
1. No Flash - I understand Flash isn't supported after 4.0.4. If this is the case I may just reflash back to it or is there another way? I have already installed flash from third party but it still doesn't work.
2. Before JB I could put any video file type and it would work without converting etc But not anymore on some work, is this because of JB?
3. I tried to install the Dark Knight game the other day from the official game site (they had an offer, game was 99p). I couldnt even install the .apk It said there wasn't enough room to download the file (just the .apk), even though I had 8gig free on SD and 30gig on external SD. Whats the problem there?
4, Yesterday Handcent messneger wouldn't update, it said there wasn't enough room but there is over 8gig free o the SD, I dont understand, why??
5. is there a way to install the game data files to external SD, the 1gig - 2gig files?
My phone is rooted and I have the official JB installed too, Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
PS. I used to love my SGS3 but its pissing me off now. Ive just manually added up all the MB's my apps are taking up. I totted it up to 389MB, even though task manager says 869MB/11.35GB. And now I cant install anything from google play, I just get the message 'insufficient space'. How can this be?? (I have checked there is nothing in any of the other files on the internal SD)
Full wipe id say

[CM10.1] Updating apps from Google Play Store fails with: Insufficient memory

Hello!
I cannot update any installed app from Google Play Store.
After the download has finished, the installation fails with this error:
Insufficient memory available
Checking the memory from settings, I get this overview:
Internal memory
Total 2GB
Available 196MB
Internal memory SD
Total 12GB
Available 8GB
When I start an installation of a new app, there's no error of insufficient memory.
My conclusion is, this cannot be a memory leak.
However, the main question is:
Why are any updates from Google Play Store failing?
THX
-Reflash the rom with a fullwipe..
- or you flash the wrong gapps, search for official gapps
But you should ask this in the right thread like Q&A or in cyanogenmod thread.

next time before you post something use GOOGLE its already solved only search...I think lucky patcher have solution for that
Actually I used Google search for a solution of this issue.
Unfortunately I didn't find one that explains the root cause of the problem and provides the suitable solution for it.
In my opinion it's insufficient to follow the approach of wiping the flash and reinstalling the image + apps.
Nobody can guarantee that this approach would actually resolve the problem and not only heal it for the moment after the reinstallation.
Therefore I would prefer to understand the root cause.
You mentioned that "lucky patcher" has a solution for that... is this solution available in the forum here? Is "lucky patcher" the user name?

1) go to data/app folder and see if u have any .ODEX file pertained to those app/apps which r giving u trouble in update vide store's and delete the same, and then try updating.
2)also u can clear DATA/CACHE of 'playstore' and 'Google service framework' then reboot ur phone and then try.

Alternative 1 is the solution here. It has always been problems with those darn .odex files when it comes to the "insufficient storage" in google play.

There are no *.odex files in /data/app.
The Cache of Google Play Store and Google Service Framework is allocating very little memory (see screenshots attached).

Thanks! Option 2 took care of me.
If there are no *.odex files on the device and the cache is close to empty, what else can cause this error message?

Even if cache is close to empty, still wipe it. Also wipe the data of those apps and then reboot your phone.
I fixed the problem by flashing new image and reinsallation of all app using Titanium Backup tool.
A bit too late, but maybe helpful for someone else. I had this problem in the past, too. It turned out, that the (buggy) kernel filling up the space with logs. After installing a newer rom I never had the problem again..

There' s no need to reflash...
Just empty the logs on your android, it will free up to 300mb aprox. then, problem solved. The logs will be generated again for the things that matter, but i assume you have never emptied your logs.

I don't think there's just one solution to this. For me, I had to clear out the matching app-lib folders to fix it.

Posting solution for others.
