Touch Pro failed provisioning to Metro - Touch Pro CDMA

Well where to start. I purchased a verizon 6850 (touch pro) and unlocked, flashed nfsfans rom and ran the mms/internet cab for metro. Also changed all settings based on instructions here. Went to metro to have flashed and it makes it about 3/4 the way thru and then fails houdini. Not sure if i need to super cid and then have them try, but when i try to super cid i get command error right from the rtask a command. Have checked everywhere to find a similiar problem on all forums and could not find anything. If anyone has any info that would be great.

I don't believe Houdini was made to handle anything above stock for any WM device (which means that if you try to "houdini" a device above 6.1, the software will not know what to do). In fact, if you call verizon and tell them that you have 6.5 on the device, they will probably will not know what to tell you... If you want them to Houdini, you should take it down to stock, let them do their thing, and then flash back to NFS.

thats what i had to do.
I agree with egzthunder. i did the same exact thing. flash back to stock, flash to metro, then play. I have my touch pro runnin all the features and then some. I'm actually about to do the android move on my pro. But its worth the hassle to reflash to stock

Besides it only takes about 10 minutes per flash. That is not going to kill you Just make sure you back up all your stuff.

flashing phone back to normal

i have had many problems since i upgraded my phone. sometimes if i do a soft reset, my phone gets stuck in the rainbow screen and sometimes takes a while to get back to normal. i want to just update my phone back to normal since i actually want to send it into sprint. Can someone please let me know what i need to do in order to do this, thanks
either go to htc website or sprint website and down load latest released rom and install. It should be a complete install back to original radio and rom.
Does anyone know how to return my verizon xv6800 back to factory, I unlocked/flashed to get gps to work and it updated to windows 6.1 which i dont like and I want it back to factory. Verizon cant do anything and neither can htc. has anyone done this?

Yes, relocker then the ROM and Radio are actually both included in the same file this time.
So run the relocker, unpack the ROM file and place the .nbh file in the RUU folder and run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
ok not so good luck so far, have ran the reLocker and went to your links to d/l and there is no program to run them, Im relativerly new to this and need help quick what is my next step????
lol sorry i posted before i refreshed

ok so you are saying i dont have to flash the factory radio one??
This ROM file is the full thing that includes the radio as well, so no need for a separate radio flash.
So, just to recap here for anyone still curious...
Once you run the Relocker (which will restore your bootloader to factory - also disallowing any new custom roms) then you're ready to run the Rom Update Utility (RUU) from the ROM you downloaded from Verizon or HTC's website.
the ROM update will flash both your radio as well as your ROM. good luck!
Annoyed with all of my issues....can't get data to work w/o prompting for a login every few minutes.
Flashing back...getting everything up and working, then starting all over.

I am curious because I have all of the files and know what to do, but so far I have not had any of the problems that everyone else has had so have not needed to try it yet, so let us know that all is well just for comfort. Thanks.
In fact, all is well.
I flashed back to the stock VZW ROM (third time I think), I made sure all of my provisioning issues with Verizon were worked out (finally had the tech "kick the switch").
1) Then I proceeded to load the 2.4 bootloader,
2) then the 3.16 Unauthorized Sprint ROM w/ radio,
3) then finally installed a cooked DCD 2.3.2 ROM.
Things to note:
1) I never let the Sprint ROM boot up
2) I had no signal so ran *22802 then hit End as soon as it connected
3) Still no signal after reboot
4) No A key, MSID, or MDN issues, but I did re-enter the MSID and MDN as discussed in other threads
5) After re-entering MSID and MDN then after reboot I had signal
6) never had to run *228 to OTA program (in the past programming with *228 has reversed the effect of re-entering the MSID and MDN)
In general, I feel that the OTA from VZW sends down some programming that conflicts with the 3.27 radio...but I have nothing to prove that.
GPS is running great (I just loaded the AstroGPSLauncher)
Not sure about Rev A. It does seem snappy. What's a good site to test from the phone?
I'm happy and not re-flashing until a solid radio for Verizon arrives.
just to let everyone know i ran the factory rom and it worked perfectly, phone is back to normal, thanks !!l

This is a bit off-topic so apologies...
But I am left wondering that if you can include the Radio into the rom,
Has DCD or No2Chem tried to integrate the radio flash into the rom and see if some of the issues with the radio goes away?
I doubt separate install could be a cause of anything but it might be worth looking into.

Titan Upgrade help...

, I've been tryin to update my Mogul's ROM to the newest DCD ROM(3.2.6 i think) and I ran into some issues that I can't seem to find on the wiki. The first thing I did was upgrade the SPL using nueSPL-2.47 by putting onto a FAT32 Sd card(1gb). That worked out fine it looks like. When I go into the bootloader it says what it should.
So then I moved on to upgrading the radio ROM. For this I used Titan Radio ROM 3.42.50. Inside the RAR file it came in was TITAIMG.nbh. The wiki said thats what I need so I loaded that onto my Sd card and entered bootloader. It found it and asked me to press the power button and then did the update and said it was a sucess. From there... nothing happens. it stays at the gray screen. I figured I need to reset it myself so I pressed reset and now it hangs at the big yellow screen that says SPRINT and doesnt load into the OS.
The wiki says this is because I didn't load the right rom for my phone, but I'm almost positive this is the right radio for the mogul, no? I don't know what went wrong, so I'm at a complete loss.
Anyone have any ideas on how I'm messing this up?
you need to read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392133
your radio has to be matched with a compatible rom, since you're on radio 3.42.50, you need a gps/reva rom, any of the ones listed at the bottom.
you can flash a rom via microsd as well, but it wont load the stock os, which is what im assuming u are still on, with a newer radio.
good luck

You've mentioned installing an appropriate bootloader and radio for DCD's 3.2.6, but you have failed to state what OS ROM is loaded or if you did attempt to flash to 3.2.6.
Hmm.. Yeah I am still on the stock Os Rom. I didn't realize the newer radio would make it incompatible. I suppose the dumb mistakes are the easiest to make.
So now, I need to update the OS Rom and I should be fine. Only problem is... I can't figure out now how to update to dcd 3.2.6. I need to flash via the SD card but I can't find the .nbh file in the RUU directory. What else am I missing?
*edit* Figured all this out, see post below.
Okay... I spoke too soon, cause I'm not out of the woods yet. i upgraded the Rom and have it working on the phone. Cept', I guess my account is no longer tied to the phone anymore, cause I can't make calls or do anything related. Is the simple way to fix this just calling sprint up and just saying I want to switch my account over to this 'new' phone? I've done that plenty to switch back and forth between the two phones I own, but I'm wondering if there's something else wrong.
I did install the sprint carrier .cab, so I know that's not an issue.

don't tell them you want to switch or anything... Just tell them you hard reset your phone and now your having this problem.
depending on the issue.. I know with verizon I either cant make calls (needs an Akey reset) or I cant get data (needs a DMU reset). I just call them and tell them I performed a hard reset because I had an issue and now I need (one of those things) reset. I'm sure it's the same for you.. this will happen when going from non GPS to GPS radio.
i usually flash the rom first then the radio both from sd. plus i dont think the card can be a sdhc

[Q] First Time Smartphone User Looking for Benfits of Flashing

I just recently purchased the HTC Touch Pro through my workplace, but was shocked when I saw that the interface for my phone wasn't the default HTC interface (the nice black one), but the stupid Bell UI. So long story short, I was wondering if flashing it with a new firmware would give me the other GUI. I'm with Bell so I know I need a CDMA firmware, and was looking for advice on which build to get. I assume flashing is done through USB on the computer, and I would not need to open the phone to bypass/ground anything. I'm basically looking to change a few things:
- The black UI
- Make the phone more responsive (I was told custom firmwares are quicker)
- Ability to install 3rd party software (possibly games? or am I limited to just JAVA games?)
- I want Java to stop telling me in the middle of playing the game that the app is untrusted and ask if I want to continue (registry hack perhaps?)
- All my radios to work (wifi/cdma)
- And I must be able to revert back to stock Bell UI firmware should I need to warranty my phone. Is this possible?
first things first: got to this thread to be able to learn the basics. then begin your quest for roms. there is a lot of threads on here about decent roms and what they can do for ya. btw a lot of people will yell at you for not taking advantage of the search function in the upper right hand corner of the screen. just thought you should know.
happy flashing!
Hey there!
I am a beginner flasher and I just flashed my first ROM. The name of it is Juicy8 and it has EVERYTHING that you are asking for. It even has HTC Touch Pro's 2 interface so when you landscape you can still use touchflo. It's great!
You can find his rom and many others on PPCGEEKS.com
Please I reccomend tha you look ezgthunder's instructions for unlocking and flashing on this website. You should find it in the Pro forums.
Okay, I've got everything settled in. I just have 2 questions:
Flashing allows the use of third party applications, such as PocketGBA, correct? There is no way to install it otherwise?
And is there a stock Bell firmware I can use to revert?

Thanks for your help. I noticed there is no stock radio for Bell, if I install Juicy 8 ROM, will the radio be touched? As in: can I still make calls?
Edit: I just flashed it and I was wondering if there was a way to get the default start menu back. Is it a setting? BTW I am referring to the start menu that looks like a classic Windows Start Menu, rather than the full screen one that I have now.

nope...that was a windows mobile 6.5 rom mate..thats how the menu is now..if you want the 'classic' style, youll have to flash an older 6.1 rom. and for your radio question, you can flash roms but DONT flash any radios as you wont be able to get the stock one back

My phone has been sitting at "PLease wait, phone starting up" for like 8 minutes.
This doesn't seem normal. . .should i be concerned?
Is your TouchPro CDMA or GSM? Sounds like you got the ROM to boot. Might just be taking a while. If it takes longer than 15 minutes, then reset the bugger. If something is indeed hosed with the ROM and it won't boot, just hold Volume Down and Power while hitting the reset button on the bottom, and you'll be back at the bootloader.

Curiously, if i end up being back at the bootloader, where should i procede?
actually i did the same installed a new rom and now it is stuck in start up , where it shows (touch Pro) stays lite for about a min or so then the whole phone reset. it seem to take the whole rom , because it said congrads installation is complete. now i cant do anything , like even install a different rom. i am wondering if i need to install a rom now via mini sd , or is there a master reset? and how am i going to install rom via mini sd

Like Cyfun said, hold Vol-Down/Power and Soft reset into bootloader. Plug the phone into USB and at the bottom serial should change to USB. Then flash away.
Otherwise, take a SD-micro and put your .nbh in the root folder, and rename it to RAPHIMG.nbh and reset into bootloader
holy crap that was fast, thanks , i am going to try it now
actually that worked, awesome!!!! i use to have a rom that was mighty rom (reborn) does anyone have the link for it , it seem to work the best on my phone!!
Sorry, never been a big fan of Mighty ROM. If you want something really Fast and Stable, I suggest Calkulins ROMs. Here is a link to the most recent release.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/tzmgjytkzm3/Calkulin's Touch Pro 23506 ROM v4.2.7z
I personally use NRG roms (due to them being updated so frequently). These however tend to be slightly buggy, and need many mods to suite individual needs.
Well once in bootloader mode i was able to get NFSFAN's rom installed with absolutely no issues.
So what did I do? Redownload a different version of energy rom and try it again. No luck there, the same thing happened. I think maybe energy rom just hates my phone. So I reflashed with NFSFAN's rom and i might just leave it with this. I dunno how much of a difference a noob flasher like myself will see between the two.

That same thing happened to me, I've tried a few other energy ROMs but they've all been too buggy for me. I think he ported his GSM ROM over to CDMA because when I tried sending a text it asked for a SIM card.

why? the verizon touch pro is seriously gimped..MOST roms will barely run on them. the guys cook the roms according to how they like them, and likely theyre not on verizon if its not working. just flash a bunch of different roms till you find one that works, and i also have read that most verion touch pros seem to run better with pagepool at 6 so i suggest you try that..good luck with it, but remember that the guys that cook these dont owe any explanation if the dont want to. were getting state of the art roms (built for new phones) on our out-of-date touch pros for free.

[problem] Dead T-mobile HD2?

I had Magloader and WP7 in it. As time went by I upgraded to HD7 and never looked back. It's been a while since I have touched XDA and WM6.5.
My assumption is that even with Magloader, you only have to flash your stock ROM and it'll revert back to WM.
Mine won't go on and I suspect that I flashed a Non-Tmobile compatible ROM. Can someone confirm that this is the case? Here's the ROM string: RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.0 7U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship.exe
I understand completely that if I messed it up then it's messed up. I just wanna make sure there might be other solutions or something I am missing out.
-Thanks in advance!
----------------------------------
Is this a final answer? I need to know if it's bricked and nothing else can be done.
Anyone thinks a shop may be able to recover it back? It won't go on at all..

Sometimes, it´s easier than you think.
You´ve got 2 options to get rid of HSPL. One of those options would be simply described in the original thread of HSPL.exe software. If you would have checked this program a little bit, you would have noticed the very fact that you can select what SPL or HSPL you want to install.
Second, you can flash your stock ROM via SD card method, this will replace HSLP and everything else - this does not work using RUU.exe via USB.

By the looks of the radio installed (2.04.50_22_2), I would say that you did brick your T-mobile phone. Take a look at the following thread for a possible solution to unbrick your phone:

Hi thanks for the response Lavell. Would MTTY be able to do anything?
The phone doesn't turn on at all, or it seems.
I've never bricked one before so Idk if this is the way it happens.
its gone. dead. it will need JTAGging or a new mainboard.
that thread wont help, the phone wont power on, and that thread requires you can get into bootloader.
that's a really early rom you used, the tmous didnt even exist when that rom shipped.
If you want to get rid of it let me know please!!!
Hey guys, don't mean to hijack the thread but I got the same problem here.
Had WP7 but could not use 2g so I went back to MAGLDR113 and installed the file below:
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship
It went all the way to 100% but now the phone is dead. Computer makes a sound when I plug in usb but I have tried changing batteries and all but it doesn't work.
Does anyone know in Dallas or areas around how to do that JTAG thing?

At its most basic, its the same for ALL hd2's, ,
1 get the correct stock rom for your region&vendor
2 flash it
thats it.
Sadly lots of times this is shortened to
1 get stock rom
2 flash it
and people just assume they can use any stock rom, and since they usually already have HSPL installed, it allows the flash to start, and tmous phones die.
Yeh think the HSPL installer should of had a TMOUS version either blocking known bricking radio & ROMs or just an on screen message warrning & advising on checking before comencing with flash.
At end of the day it is the users fault for not researching or using a TMOUS rom to be 100% safer !
