I'm just buying a second hang hero and upgrade Villian v4.0 beta.
I found that camera quatity is very bad, look like it's been replace by another one but I'm not sure because the VOID is still exist.
Camera quality is bad although, compare to htc magic, too much yellow, I turn on autofocus but there's no differrent!
Any one know how to solve ?

Hey all I am living in the UK and have been trying out alot of the different Roms for the HD2. However I have yet found a Rom that supports the 5m camera. I find that the Stock Rom is much better for Camera and Video.
So my question to you, Is there a Rom out there that is as good as the 'Core Series' and 'Energy' Roms that support The 5m Camera on the HD2???
Every rom supports 5m camera. What's your problem ?
No it doesn't the core series v2 and v3 only support up to 3m on the camera and same as the energy. The pictures you take with those roms is nothing compared to htc stock

Don't you think it would be better to open your eyes and flip to the second page of the settings where the 5MP are clearly selectable?
lol, yes i tried that but it still does not look half as good as the stock Rom. Surely other people on here agree with me?
hang on while i force my way through the people fighting to agree with you,,,, oh, wait there aren't any,,,,,
hehe
i think your issue must be something else, since no one has yet mentioned anything similar, and i think it would have been brought up a long time ago if it were really the case.
Could it be something simple like maybe a tweak that you always apply whever you flash that is affecting it? sometimes something seemingly unrelated can cause issues in something else.
care to post a few examples of stock rom vs cooked rom images?

You must be smoking some good **** man. 5 Megapixel mode is ON in my ROM and I'm sure all other Leo ROMs as well. Whether they look good to you or not, I dont know. It's still a friking PHONE after all and not a professional camera.
i just wrote a tutorial in this thread (post 26) that should significantly help improve the camera's quality:

When I first received my GTab with the stock ROM the camera quality was pretty good and clear. When I switched to gingerbread the camera quality deteriorated and is really pixilated and just bad. There is no feature to refine the photo quality from low to medium to fine etc that you see on other tab cameras. I had a really cheap tab from China running on 2.1 that had better camera quality. I read somewhere that the issue may be that there are no drivers in Gingerbread for the Gtab camera. Is this true and is there a way to get back to the original stock camera quality that came with the Gtab out of the box? Thanks, I am new to this, tried to read a lot but can find no clear answer to this issue.

All of the Gingerbread roms suffer from poor camera capture, it's a known software problem, it should be resolved (according to a few developers who have posted) in not to far off revisions/releases.
If you want fully functional video acceleration and camera, stick to any of the Froyo (non-gingerbread) roms that are more closely based off the stock ROM, while waiting for the gingerbread rom kinks to get worked out.
Camera fun free works but reads the rotation sensor wrong so the display is 90 degrees off
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure it's because we are don't have the nvidia drivers for gingerbread so the camera and video playback is sub par

Well blow me down... it does! Thanks. I could never find any that were happy with any Ginger rom.
Hey everybody.
I've experienced it with my old HTC Vision before and now with my shiny new X+. The picture quality when shooting with a non-Sense ROM is just bad.
I am currently using the AOKP ROM and I really love everything about it - except for the camera.
Does anyone have a real solution to this? Seems to be a driver issue or something, different Apps from the Play store don't do anything.
Thanks,
Nik
My biggest problem with custom ROMs as well. With AOKP or CM I cant even attempt to use flash, white balance is off the charts ... And i cant turn it down enough to make decent pictures.
Its got something to do with proprietary htc stuff i believe. Dont know if a solution is possible.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
I bought my One x+ after trading in my old Desire HD. So far I'm finding that I liked the picture quality on the DHD more than on the OX+-- the colors were a bit more vivid and the pictures on the OX+ seem a bit oversaturated. My question is-- what determines the picture quality? Is it more the hardware or the software? The cameras on both phones is 8MP-- does the picture quality stem from differences in softare? If so, would it be possible to get the old camera sofware from the DHD? Or is it a ROM thing? Or is there more to it than that?

The One series is the first to use HTC`s imagesense. As such the images are quite compressed, assuming you are rooted, try flashing lypota`s mod camera or just use the attached media file. Both of these will set image quality to 100 (no compression) and increase video bitrate/mbps.

lypota's awesome camera mod is a must.
Always comes down to the software and libraries, plus there's always a balance with sharpness/exposure which you should fiddle with as auto settings are garbage.
Eg at the SG4 and the Xperia Z, same 13mp Sony camera bsi module but very different results on auto settings.
I'm running Elegancia which I believe has Lypota's camera mod built into it, as for the other one, sounds tempting, but I take a lot of pics and I'm afraid if they were 3-9 megs a shot I'd fill up my memory card in no time haha. Might give it a whirl though. Still, on my DHD the pics were between .75 and 1.5 mb's on average and I just had to point and shoot with no tweaking of settings...oh well. Thanks for the suggestions.
Does anyone have any experience with Camera ZOOM FX? Would it be an improvement over what I have? (HTC Camera with Elegancia mods) Or would it be a supplement? Sorry for the noobness.
I got the HTC One Max in Feb and I liked it even though I knew the camera wasn't that good because it was missing ISO (hardware, not software). Updating to 4.2.2 with Sense 6 pretty much broke the camera for me. When trying to zoom onto an object at close range, it'll focus and then distort and the camera keeps making a buzzing noise like it's trying to keep auto focusing but it passes the point of a clear picture and never fixes itself. I never rooted, unlocked bootloader, or S-off this device--everything is stock. It's frustrating that I'm spending so much money on a phone for it to just mess up like this. Any advice or something for a fix? Can I install the old camera APK from a previous version of android?
RMA it....hard ware issue it appears
agree, sounds like an RMA to me too. I have had the one max since launch day.
the camera is great. I dont use the stock camera app because its limited in what it gives the user, but i have taken good images with this camera.
