hi ,i made a dll that translates TG01 accelerometer data into HTC's,it works well in most game about accelerometer .
How to use it : put the dll file to windows folder.
Resco Bubbles is the test game!!

Yes, tested but doesn't work with a game called SensorMAze for HTC. Could you pleas upload a game to test it?
Thanks
doesn't work with Asphalt 4, Ferrari GT, Xtrakt, Experiment 13.
Work with NFS Undercover
Amazing stuff thank you for your efforts.
Yes! keep up the good work man
you sir are a genius, brilliant little mod. resco works good. just a little question though, is there any way to increase the sensitivity? i have calibrated it in-game and with windows 6.5 but it seem that if i tilit it left then right it takes a few seconds for the momentum to stop and the ball to turn back.
other than that, your .dll is great, good work
Great
Works but as the last post said there is a minor delay going from left to right, im testing GLESBoing (doodle jump like game).
really great. thanks a lot, had been waiting for something like that for ages.
tested with G-alarm, working u

i test this problem ,i find the TG01 G_sensor data have more fluctuation(or noise) than HTC diamond .when the mobile phone comes to a standstill,TG01 data fluctuation about 0.020g,but HTC diamond about 0.002g, i don't know what caused this problem,Toshiba's driver or TG01 accelerometer chip?
Great work - thanks!
Great work, but in Omnia (first version) HTCemu is much better. May be sensor in Omnia is better, but i don't think so. We have a lot of job...
Thanks Man I've really tried for a long time to get the sensor workin thanks buddy!!!!!!!!!!

i just tried changing the .net from 3.5 to 2.0 and it seemed to have it made it more eratic in the menu display and i felt like it was less floppy in the game, may just have been me on my tg01 but it may lend itself to something .net is setup as to how fast the g-sensor gets processed?
if it was a htc one then its generally accepted code but if its a custom/unknown one then the commands would/might be different and may need interpreting before they even get close to doing something, causing a delay.
can we probe the chip to see what it actually accepts somehow? like you can on modems?

Could anyone post more programs when this "translator" works correctly? I've tested some HTC apps and response seems to be a bit "slow".
Thanks!
(However, you have been the first able to do it, congratulations of course!)
It is rather good
Hello chaps,
So far the program seems very functional. The only thing I've tried that doesn't work is Sensormaze. Marble Worlds 2 and NFS have been transformed.
Many thanks once again.
Cheers,
David.

i think .net influences the game speed rather than my driver or tg01 driver, because my driver is based on win32 having nothing to do with .net,and tg01 driver can not work under the .net. But i will test it .
actually,it is not delay ,it's just a bit of out of control .
the next work is trying to bypass the Toshiba's own driver and read the chips data directly to see it ,but is hard for me.
Good job...
i tried Gpad... works too...
G sensor is recignized... but Xtract.exe still doesn't work... maybe because version 2...
other keep it up !! Good Work...
Looks so gooodddd...

not sure if this helps but i was looking at the qualcomm website and it said the hardware supports windows & linux so could we not pull a linux driver and wrap it up so it can be used by win32? or even comparing the different drivers against other snapdragon based devices to see if we can pull a nugget to help us?
also i remember seeing a reg setting for the g-sensor and the dword was 101,i increased it on my device to 200 a while ago and it did nothing but crash my tg01, im going to try again with smaller increments and see if there is any change in anything. is there any programs around to monitor the responsiveness of the sensor directly on the device in realtime?

Dear Xda Experts!
My name is Guy, I own an Xda Atom and I critically need your help...
About a month ago my life became miserable as the wifi module of the poor device has stopped functioning completely: It doesn't start when I click Menu->Turn on Wifi, doesn't respond to wireless manager clicks, fails the self diagnostics test etc.
After looking all over the relevant internet forums, I've found This post, suggesting I put the atom in the fridge for a few minutes. I've done that - and suprisingly - the wifi began functioning for a few minutes time. After that, it returned to its normal state of misfunctioning.
I understand that the problem is being caused by some sort of a heating problem within the device.
Is there a solution to this problem?
Rom experts (especially Jiggs) : is there a registry edit that might help, maybe to take some pressure of the processor, or to prevent the disappearance of the wifi as the device heats?
I bought the Atom especially because the wifi ability, as it is highly important to me, and as for now I'm seriously disappointed. The O2's support's laconic response was "Try the official ROM" (My warranty period is over).
Needless to say, I have already tried Hard resets, Rom upgrades of all kinds, flashing and reflashing, taking out the battery for a few days and nothing worked.
Please try to assist,
Your help will be much appreciated.
Thank you all,
Guy Sando.
Same with me.
Hi Guy,
I have the same problem with my Atom.
I tried to reinstall ROMs/Hard Reset and nothing helped.
One day in the morning after charging it all over the night, the WIFI suddenly started to work, but only for few hours.
Hope someone would have an idea.
Yaniv.

Dear Jeffkewin, thanx for the response.
Do you have a link or maybe a bit more specific name of the software that you recommended? (Btw, Software replacement seems a bit like a long shot, because of the fact that the "fridge-therapy" works for the wifi...)
As for the AKU's - I've tried them both, they're really nice, but none of them has fixed my wifi issue...
Maybe The upcoming WM6 Rom will. I keep my fingers crossed...
Thanks again,
Guy.
Can u goto the Settings, Connections, use the Wi-fi Utility.
Ignore the Turn on and off button. Turn on is turn off, turn on is turn on.. that the only text bugs, but the software is working fine.
Try SPB phone suite wireless icon
it happened to me one time while trying to reflashed ROM. When im going to Wireless Manager, I cant open my wifi. But if im trying to open it in SPB Phone suite , its working...maybe try this software. download it and i will give to you the serial for registration. But first try if it is work then thats the time i will give to you...

Thank you Jeffkewin and Generalriden,
Unfortunately, The solutions you proposed are not working. I have tried Phonesuite, Hitch-hiker and many more - none have worked.
I have also tried ignoring the text in the "Wifi utilities" application (In many different Rom versions) - still no good...
Has someone encountered the same problem and got it solved? Is there something about the Rom version that can fix this?
Thanks again,
Guy.
If you're using the official ROM and it's not working, then this is more hardware related. 'Fridge Theraphy' is not normal for your device. You have no choice but to go to service center, have it estimated for cost. You can buy now a brand new Atom at $250 or less.
Alternate solution would be a $50-$100 SDIO wifi card, but I think none would fit the miniSD slot.
There are miniSDIO wifis. They're pretty much the only miniSDIO devices. However, you're still better off getting a new device.
Sounds like your wifi module's overheating. This is a hardware problem (just like cracking speakers) and there's no way to fix it permanently short of a physical repair.
Good News
I had the same problem.
I tried almost every single possible solution which was discussed on this forum, including the Fridge Therapy. Fridge therapy really worked for a couple of minutes.
Finally, I took it to the service center and they said, the problem is with the board and the cost of repair is $400/-.
I was put off and challenged to see, something which works after the fridge therapy will stop working at room temperature.
Finally, I realized, the last thing beyond the ROM which I changed was the MS Active Sync. I had using Active Sync Ver 4.5. It seems to have some conflict. I reverted back to Active Sync Ver. 4.1 and reflased the original rom.
It worked and Active Sync Ver. 4.1 is working perfectly fine for my device. After the WiFi worked, I reflashed it to Jiggs latest WM6 ROM and its working well.
Might sound wiered, but the fact, I could resolve this issue by reverting back to Active Sync. 4.1.
Hope this helps to all dissappointed users of Atom.

Anand

Dear Anand,
Thank you very much for your help.
I'm anxious to see if that's gonna work for me as well.
I'll try going back to AS 4.1 right now and will let you know.
Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Many thanks again!
Guy.
I'm happy for you mate, but that just sounds like the biggest load of bollocks I've ever heard it just proves how unpredictible and unreliable our Atoms are, my Wifi has also gone on the blink for one or two weeks at a time and then for no apparent reason it fixes itself. Although I suppose running the Atom Exec rom in the Atom doesnt help nor the fact we run overclock apps to 624MHZ
I have now finished downgrading to AS 4.1 and to the official ROM.
Unfortunately, that did not do the trick. Thinking about it, seems like Homer is right:
The AS doesn't start communicating with the device until its connected to the desktop, after the HR and the SR that follow the ROM upgrade. therefore, there's no obvious reason why it should affect the wifi module, which seems to be off even before that connection. In addition - Anand, how did you get the AS 4.1 to work with the WM6 ROM? Isn't AS 4.5 the only version that works with WM6?
As been said, our devices are totally unpredictable, which is really disappointing. I'm happy for you, for getting everything running, and I hope that my device will do that as well soon.
I'll be more than glad if someone here will be able to assist in that matter.
Thank you all,
Guy.

I have not yet syncronized my device with WM6 and AS 4.1. I just used it to reflash the Atom.
Also, I have heard, of AS to have an impact on WiFi Connectivity in the past.
Mine is still working fine. Infact, WiFi with WM6 is working much better than WM5.
Also, another thing which my help to have a logical conclusion is the fact, that when I used to sync with my laptop's WiFi on, my PDA's WiFi used to dissappear and when the Laptop's WiFi was off, it used to work well.
To be honest, I tried many things, starting flashing the first Atom update to the cooked roms, with AS downgrade. I wanted to share my experience, was quite excited that it may help many other like me.
Feel sorry for you :-(

Anand

It sounds completly reasonable - a sofware conflict.
I have the same the problem.
However, one morning after recharging my ATOM for a complete night, the WIFI module suddenly worked in the morning till I......used the active sync 4.5 to synchronize it.
I will try to reinstall the 4.1 version and see how it works for me.

I'm starting this thread to research the hidden possibilities in the HTC Touch Dual (nike). Alot of questions have been asked about wifi capabilities in the dual and how they may be there just locked by the manufacturer. I hope this thread will help us answer wether further capability is unlockable via roms, cabs, drivers, or registry changes.
In an article about the upcoming WM6.1 I found these interesting finds.
http://blogs.zdnet.com/mobile-gadgeteer/?p=707
"Qualcomm see the decreasing cost of the smartphone spurring growth in adoption of these devices. Steve talked about the Qualcomm/Microsoft collaboration effort and the MSM 7xxx series of chipsets we see in today’s latest and greatest devices. These chipsets include GPS, media, applications processors and more in a single, low battery consumption configuration. There are several variants of their chips in mobile devices today with some having everything inside and some having limitations desired by the manufacturer or carrier for various reasons (cost, size of the device, targeted market, etc)."
The HTC Touch Cruise (polaris) has GPS & Wifi with the Qualcomm® MSM 7200, 400MHz processor - The same processor the HTC Touch Dual (nike) has. There would be no reason to use additional hardware in the Polaris if the processor provides this capability.
already posted at other thread that when someone installs the various cabs that people are trying, when we go to wlan settings mac adress doesn't appear.
Usualy appears even when wifi is off.
Regarding gps i tried using google maps to see if detects something but the only com port that kinda works is com 7 but it turns bluetooth on, so it must be a bluetooth port...

Just wondering if you could post a RegDump (possibly directory/file listing) of your Kaiser?
I think we are still missing some registry entires.
One such entrie:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN]
"DeviceName"="{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TNETW12511"
If I know how to extract files from Rom's I'd probably stand a better chance at all this.

It does indeed seem to have an FM radio. It doesn't change much, though (hardware-wise at least, as you would have to use the headset as an antenna).
My point is, don't trust blindly on PDAdb.net. You can find many errors if look around in there (though most of it seems to be right).

Hi, thanks for that, it would seem that there are quite a few registry keys missing, I've only searched for GPS keys so far, the main ones needed for interfacing with the GPS driver seem to be missing.
But even after going though and making my own registry file, GPS still does not work, nothing appears on com 4.

yep think its comm 7 on the dual
I think registry keys and DLLs won't help in this case. The MSM7200 GPS function should be enabled by a low level hardware driver that is probably loaded after reset before the OS comes on. Then the OS either sees the GPS port or not. An expert's help is thus needed in this case.
As for WIFI, someone mentioned the lack of MAC address for the WIFI. Again - this is a HW issue as the MAC address is coded in ROM (unerasable part of the FLASH) just like IMEI. And if it is not there to begin with... hmmm...
But we can certainly look for one if we have access to the ROM code - it is a 6-digit number that should begin with 00h 18h 41h. If we correlate a few devices that have this string in the same location than maybe there is something to it (WiFi included).
I was trying GPS test, it scanned all com ports, it did halt on Com7, but now it just skips it.
I think a hard reset and start again is in order.

That web page also indicates that GSM850 is supported. For a USA user, that would be the most important thing of all. There has been some speculation that the phone can support GSM850 now. Perhpas the Japanese ROM will turn it on.

Nah, actually I'm aware of that thingy, but that's not what I want. I want a hardware keyboard I can use in my hands or in my lap. This one requires a flat surface to work and that's not an option since I need to be able to use the keyboard in the car / plane / train / ferryboat etc. So I have excluded pretty much all foldable keyboards because they can't be used that way.
I also saw the Logitech diNovo mini keyboard, which looks awesome, but is just so damn expensive I figured I first try to find some kind of alternative. There are a few mini wireless keyboards available out there, but only Logitech and this Super Tiny have illuminated keys (also a must have for me) and can be used without flat surface.
Guess I'll have to go for Logitech then
You could try by using the veripart 3-in-1 converter, which will give you a USB-port, so you can stick the transmitter onto it...
But I don't know how to get the drivers onto your device then....
Grtz,
Degake
Look for the Think outside, or i-Go bluetooth keyboard. it's foldable but you can use it on your lap also. I have been using one for the past two years. fantastic device!!

Yeah, me too, but I'm still undecided. Mostly because the reviews I read weren't that great as I expected.
To be honest, if I'm going to pay 150 euros for a plastic keyboard, then I expect it will be fantastic, and judging by what I read, it's just not so great as one would think.
I own a lot of Logitech devices and have been using their keyboards / mices for years. I never regret paying top money for those gadgets, but I'm just not sure about this little thing. Unfortunately, none of the available reviews tested this keyboard as an attachment to PDA device - most were oriented to Windows Vista tv application / web browsing. So, I'll wait for someone here on the forums to get it and report

I'm very interested in it's functioning with HD. Can you test it in SMS / Opera / Word? See if there's a way for the soft keys to be controled via keyboard.
Also, general impressions would be most welcomed.

the main keys and dpad work fine on the dinovo mini, not sure about the soft keys will test
and let you know (though I think they don't)
How about the Freedom Slim Keyboard .. http://www.htcdepot.com/freedom-slim-keypad/9A55A5051.htm about the size of the HD and nice metalic feel to it.

The softkeys are not accessible currently
though maybe some kind of key mapper might get around this
Bt Keyboard pairs but no response from keypresses
Hi,
Hopefully someone can help me with this as I am rather stuck.
I got this keyboard http://www.iconuk.co.uk/Keyboards--Mice-&-Tablets/Bluetooth-Keyboards/Keysonic-Mini-Blutooth-Wireless-Keyboard-KB-ACK-595BT/p-1583-621-1758-4106/ - Keysonic KB-ACK-595BT.
So far I have only got it to work twice with the touch HD, where it connected and was quite happy typing and controlling windows mobile (typed a whole document quite happily). However, the 2nd time it took several attempts before it would work and now I can't seem to do it again.
As far as I can tell the keyboard is fine (connects to windowsXP without issue) but after paring with the Phone (which it accepts) there is no response from the key presses.
I've tried all sorts to get it to work, but no utility or attempts to change the stack or Soft/Hard resets seems to help. I've even upgraded the radio to 1.12.25.16 but made no difference. I think this must be a WM6.1 issue with BT paring but I'm out of idea on how to fix it.
It is driving me nuts though, since it worked twice so why doesn't it now? Can't find anyone else who has had a similar problem so stuck for ideas on what to try next.
Thanks in advance.
Tim.
Hey all you gaming hd fans out there, just thought id let you in on a little discovery of mine.
The Foldable Bluetooth Gamepad DOES work with the HD
I got mine second hand off ebay, but heres a link to the product im talking about:
http://www.order-bulk.com/Bluetooth-Gamepad-For-Mobile-Sony-Ericsson-Nokia-Motorola-LG-Samsung.html?currency=GBP&language=en#googlebase
The first question is, does the HD fit inside the wings, which i can answer with a resounding yes, its a tight fit but with no chance of your HD falling out during a frantic button bashing session!
Its a little tricky to get working with the HD as the install disk, or this driver file:
http://www.gdbint.com.au/downloads/drivers/BGP100_v1502_Games_Included.zip
does not include the HD as a selectable phone, however using this sequence i got it installed:
added the gamepad to my bluetooth devices (not sure this is needed but it what i did)
connected my phone and laptop using a usb activesync
ran the setup.exe from the driver file and clicked a couple of next buttons and an agree
when selecting a phone chose the htc magician
then comes the bit that i had to try a couple of times, the cab runs on the HD and asks where to install, device or storage. the first time i tried device and the program wouldn't open, (an error about certification) so i tried again and installed to storage and hey presto everything worked!!
However there was one more stumbling block in my quest to play zelda on my phone, although the gamepad worked for navigating menus and such like, morphgear would recognise my clicks once i'd started playing. a quick search on google and reinstalling morphgear kicked this problem to touch however and here i am, about the play zelda: a link to the past until i run out of AAA batteries for the pad!!!
So if anybody else out there is into gaming and HD'ing then i would wholeheartedly recommend this product
I haven't noticed any difficulties while installing the driver. The gamepad works just fine, unfortunately the HD doesn't fit in the middle of the gamepad, what makes it quite inefficient, at least for me ...
on my gamepad there are two adjustable rubber grips inside the folding arms to hold the phone in place, try sliding these to the outside of the arms and the HD should squeeze inside:

good find thanks very much, I will probably be buying this tonight!
Many many thanks for the infos...
you just answered all my unanswered questions
ordering it soon.....
I've just received mine...
Works perfect.... more than perfect ..
installed on storage card and call of duty2, flux challenge, pocket clive (zx spectrum emulator) all work fine
Maybe just a barebly noticed lag in communication (a small delay in controls... and i am not so sure about it)

nice
thx for the informations
but i think it looks a lil cheap
isn´t there any posibility to use a normal bluetooth controller for example the PS3 controller ?
It looks cheap but take it from someone who owns one, the build quality on it is on par/close to with Genuine playstation controllers.
Buttons feel good, not mushy and spongy, sliders move smoothly and no poorly fitting parts or grinding in the moving bits. They are REALLY good.
I have to disagree. I've had this bluetooth gamepad for a long time, mainly used for the N95. The quality is average at best and no where near the comfort of any game console controllers. The most annoying feature is the extremely poor battery life. It doesn't last more than a couple of hours... It will cost you a fortune in the long run and frustrate you in the middle of a game.
If you want a controller I would rather use the iGo Stowaway Keyboard. The battery last about 90hrs. Not ideal but it doubles up as a QWERTY.
Hi!
i have buyed bgp100 gamepad too but it seems don't works correctly, A,B,C,D,R button are received from htc hd like same button...
i tried to read with attention qhat mulligan2k say but maybe i don't understand something or i don't know...
with my notebook it works correctly, i think there some driver problem or wm6.5 incompatibility?
thanks for all answer.
Hi everyone ... bought a BGP100 last weekend here: http://www.pearl.de/a-HZ1400-4046.shtml?query=bluetooth gamepad
But if i install the driver via PC (cab installation) and after starting the Gamepad application, there is an error message popup:
"Connection error! Sorry! We don't support this Bluetooth Gamepad."
Anyone has a solution?
hi, you have to install ms version not widcom, it works for me, but there is other problem: A,B,C,D,R are receive from the HD with same exadecimal code and it's unusable for playing...
if it works for you please say something on this board please.
Hmmm ... this Gamepad is absolutely not working. Tried a lot of drivers, MS Bluetooth Stack drivers, Widcomm drivers (with them, the gamepad dialog doesn't start), samsung drivers ... everything.
The same message every time: "Connection error! Sorry! We don't support this Bluetooth Gamepad." --- tried to connect directly via bluetooth, nothing.
I think, the gamepad isn't working for me (as it's not a MSI gamepad )

compatible with? i think, my gamepad and the drivers aren't matching. i don't think, it has something to do with bluetooth stack at my device. afaik the diamond uses also MS Bluetooth stack.
hope to get some fitting drivers for the gamepad

maybe it is incompativle with winmo devices, maybe bgp100 driver aren't same of your gamepad driver.
I have bought through ebay the exact gamepad.
Please note that mine is the original MSI gamepad.
I have used the drivers for the HTC Magician in the accompanying CD .
I have had no problems at all.
Have in mind that you must install the drivers in the storage card and not in the device

Try The Attached File
I know that this thread hasn't been posted to in a few months, but I hope that the information that I am posting will help someone. This is my first time posting anything, anywhere, on the web.... so wish me luck.
My current setup is a HTC Sprint Touch Pro flashed to ToO's CricKet rom(very nice). Whilst expirementing with emulation on the device, and mapping the keyboard buttons, all of the Action Buttons were showing up as the same location on the keyboard. Regaurdless of what button I pressed, they all came up as 020 if I remember right. After spending night after night of searching forum after forum, along came a solution. Posted somewhere in the deapths of our very own xda-developers.com I read about this program KforTP. Created by "Jack Wang", I am not sure as to how Mr. Jack came to developing this marvelous tool... but I think it would have happened like this...
Late one night in 2008 while at the bar, Jack sat sat freeloading WiFi on his HTC Touch Pro. Downloading emulators at speeds that would put The Flash to shame.
(Evil Laugh)
After a few rounds too many Jack became enraged at his phone.
"Why won't my Action Buttons map on PockSNES!"
Only it came out in a drunken slur. The bartender knew that Jack was terribly drunk.
"Hey et your drunk #[email protected] outta here!"
As Jack left the bar in his beat-up honda he turned the music up and let the windows down to keep his mind off of driving drunk. Rounding a sharp curve on a wet road Jack soon found himself spinning out of control. Lights were comming from everywhere on the dashboard....
"OH &$#% I'M GONNA DIE!!!!"
The car finally came to a hault, and Jack was deaf to the music wailinng from the speakers.
"Yeeeeeee Haaaaaaw!"
Jack got back on the road and drove safely home. After walking through the threshold of his abode, Jack knew that he survived that crash for only one reason.
"I must code a fix for my problem with the Action Buttons not mapping."
But any way the file is attached so give it a shot, and let me know how you liked my first post ever in my LIFE... any feedback would be nice.... Add me on Facebook... whatever.... oh wait, i never post my email address! But seriously let me know what you think. I have never tried this program on any device except for MY Touch Pro. The code may need to be adjusted if you intend to use it on any other device. I do not take any credit for this program in any way. The authors information is in the "about" section.
Welcome, new net citizen!
Greetings, fellow CDMA Raphael and Diamond users!
Those of you who use third party audio players are, I'm sure, well aware of the infamous audio lag on our devices.
A few weeks ago, HTC released a fix for this issue, but it did not work on CDMA devices -- in fact, it screws your device is you install it.
Well, I spent way too much time reverse engineering the fix to see if I could find a way to adapt the fix to the CDMA version of OEM_Misc.dll (the file that is installed in the fix). Initially, I met with failure. But recently, I revisited the idea and, unbelievably (at least to me), I have managed to produce a version of OEM_Misc.dll compatible with CDMA devices that does not have the audio skip problem!
Okay, before installing, please be advised that there is still a possibility that this fix may mess up your device, requiring a hard reset. I've only tested this on one phone (mine) so I don't exactly have a large test pool yet. lol. Also, I'm not responsible if your phone crashes, bricks, blows up, or anything else.
Now that all of that is out of the way, onto the fix!
I whipped up a cab which will replace the ROM OEM_Misc.dll with the version I hacked to get it fixed. Before you install the cab, you must install the sdkcerts.cab first because all drivers MUST be signed and that is the XDA de-facto standard for signing DLLs.
Okay, to reiterate!
1. DO NOT INSTALL THIS FIX IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CDMA PHONE!
2. YOU MUST INSTALL SDKCERTS FIRST!
Enjoy! And please report your experiences.

I might try this out. I'm not sure if it will work though because i have 9 gigs of music on my 16 gig storage card. I think that is the reason that it goes slow sometimes. Also, I am running a custom rom....would this file have to be renamed in order to work? I know that sometimes chefs change the names of stuff.

No, I doubt it has been renamed. OEM_Misc.dll is a system driver that, among other things, handles charging your phone, updating registry state for various phone properties, etc. I don't know the full scope of what it does because it's hard to tell what something is doing in assembly language, but that's what I discovered. The bug that was fixed was setting a certain timed event that happens every five minutes to a lower thread priority, so the audio driver doesn't skip.
The attached file will ONLY fix the "five minute skip" bug -- nothing else. For example, HTC Audio Manager has been reported having problems playing certain high-bit MP3s sometimes. This won't fix that. It also won't fix slow storage cards leading to buffer lags.
Also, on CDMA systems (at least stock ROMs), the HTC Audio Manager (music TF3D tab) has a special work-around where it plays at a higher priority than the five minute timer, so it doesn't skip. This is only intended if you use third party audio players (like Pocket Player) which don't have that capability.
I installed this patch with success on my Telus Diamond, I held my breath, and got past the boot screen
music plays, not sure about any skips as of yet as I'm at work and can't test it out, but.... since the HTC patch messed up my phone, I tried MightyROM 4.7 and don't think I noticed a skip since then
Has anyone else tested this with success? I guess I would like to know what exactly the DLL change does?

Not to be an ass, but follow the links in the top post. It explains all.
And yea, it works. Of course, I created it, so obviously I'd say that. ;-)
Did not mean to insult you thx1200. Thanks for all the effort, I read the links, and obviously you put some time into this. You folks that have development skills amaze me.
I am going to give this a whirl. I use core player, and it skips, as you mentioned, every 5 min.
Appreciate the effort

No hard feelings dude!! It's just that's a very common (over asked) question on posts here at xda! :-D
I hope it works for you! Let me know how it works out!
How'd I miss this? I'll cook it into my ROM and see if WMP still skips.
Thanks!

Over asking things??? At XDA?!?!?! Are you nuts???
I no longer have a Herman, but I will post this in my guide when I see more feedback on this fix. Good job!!!!
I'm going to try it because I have the issue with the music sucking because of the skipping. I have never had this problem with my Touch Pro until recently.
I am going to try it also because I have another problem in Windows Media Player: when streaming radio stations, it only goes for about 3 or 4 minutes and then stops. I used to stream on my phones for hours. On this one too. But now for the past month or so I have this problem of it stopping.
Thanks, but I tried and it didn't stop the skipping. I downloaded both cabs and after the second, the device restarted. I then tried playing mp3 file in WMP and skipping just as bad. Try and try again.
I meant to reply last week, but forgot, anyhow....
I recently loaded Juicy 8 on my diamond, as well as Kinoma Play (I don't use wmp). I had the skipping problem, badly. At least every minute of playback would have some kind of skip.
I applied the patch and no more skipping. I must have heard about 10 hours of playback since the patch.

I'm glad! Is Juicy 8 a WM 6.1 or WM 6.5 ROM? I'm curious because I haven't heard if it works (or is even needed) on a 6.5 ROM yet. I recently started running MightyROM6 (WM6.5 based), which doesn't seem to have the skip issue and as far as I know it doesn't use my hack. Maybe WM 6.5's architecture is more realtime reliable? (speculating)
Anyway, let me know.
You know, its funny, you read lag issues with playing music
I think, I just got this phone, I don't think it lags. I was using the stock music player built in. I downloaded Nitrogen music player, went to work on the bus with those awesome quality headphones the phone comes with and was listening to metallica, and to my suprise, it sounded like the worse ever downloaded mp3 I'd ever heard. skips, bleeps etc. like someone had a scrached cd when they encoded it or something.
Then I remember there was a fix for it, but only GSM phones, and then I sorta remembered about a fix for cdma phones... I get home and search for it and wow. I found the page.
Thank you. I am already *****y about the phone's inability to recieve txt picture messages (telus) and this fix makes me content for now.
And I have been listening to metallica for about 10 min, I havn't heard any lag issues.
Thanks again!

Verizon is CDMA. That's what this was designed for. I'd be a little surprised if it works on a WM Standard device, but hey! It's worth a shot! Just be prepared to have to hard reset, in case it doesn't work...
EDIT: Also, I am not an expert and I am not responsible for bricking your phone, etc. Usual disclaimer.
Thnx, thx! Not quite brave enough to try it now, maybe after my next reset.
I'll post results when.
*Edit*
Nope, no luck. tried it before a hard reset, wouldn't restart past the HTC screen. Same for after the reset.
:-(
Thanks anyways.
