Hey all
I'm kind of new to the flashing of devices but since a couple of months my phone MDA touch Plus is giving a lot of problems
The main issue is that when i power is up from standby all is gives me is te back light.
Is there a posibilty that the problem is in the software or is it a hardware issue
If the problem exists in the hardware i think i should buy a new one, But if its a software issue i could try and do a software update
can anyone help me

Hi Keventaa, can you be a bit more specific and tell us what sort of phone you have, just take a look under the battery, mine is Niki100 (by example)

On the back of my phone it says niki200
The backlight works but there is just no image at all.
If the problem can be solved bij a software update that would be awesome but is it posible to get a dutch rom

i have a very serious problem with the MDA I i bought over e-bay. I am totaly confused and i have completely NO idea what the source of this problem could be. You ARE my last hope !
The problem ist the following: all sounds on the MDA including the video streaming are somehow corrupted. At first (after a hardreset and even a rom update to ppc 2003 t-mobile germany) all sounds are very slow and deep. Then -in some kind of magic ways- as time passes the sounds are played always a little faster and faster. After 3 days or so the sounds are played constantly much too fast (mickey-mouse-effect). The same thing happens, when i record a notice with my own voice. If i use the telephone i can hear voices completely normal. So i really think, that it must be a hardware issue. Probably is the sound on the motherboard defect?
Or can really be a software issue and what could i try then ? As said i already tried numbers of hard- and softresets and have also flashed the rom with always the official t mobile updates. Can you help me ?

I've italian HTC ROM and i'm waiting to know if is there some ROM that resolve the screen alignment problem.

In short, no. There is only one person who has no alignment issues after flashing a ROM (The HTC one) and the rest of us have had the same issues.

Does this has something to do with screen digitizer. I am facing the same problem, maybe worst. Currently using 3 weeks old MDA Vario II, without screen protector. I've tried disassembling method but problem still intact. I afraid if my motherboard, CPU etc has problem.

Seems like here is not only one specific cause, but very complex set of interactions ROM/software/hardware. For example, I had this (alignment) issue first time; but after I stop using Resco Keyboard - I don't have it now!
I'm not sure, of course, that some other programs cannot cause this issue again.
However, this issue is caused by some little hardware imperfections...
At first I never had any screen alignment issues. Then, suddenly, they appeared. I believe with one of the Schaps ROM's. Now I use the most recent Faria ROM and don't have any screen alignment problems.
The screen alignment issue is not only caused by a hardware problem, but in some cases it the ROM. I suppose that if the problem was always there, it's a hardware issue. If not, it's a software issue. Or is this too simple?
My experience was that upgrading frm WM5 TO WM6 cured my screen alaignment problems.
My serial # 628.............
In fact I was informed by HTC Europe that the WM6 upgrade would solve the problem.
This seems plausable as I know that two different motherboards were used on the earlier models.
So the problem seems to be hardware/software interlinked.
The same was applicable to the dissapearing storage cars in WM5 Media Player.
The only time I re align my screen is when flashing different ROMS
Problem remained
I tried Schap's ROM and it started from there new ROM 4.XX. Faria's ROM same problem. Now TNT getting same problem. I am using screen protector from day one and since that time till 1 and half year no problem. Then used new version of Schap's and it started.
And again he is asking for suggestion rather then issues.
I am thinking to go back to old versions of WM6 better leave WM6.1

okay. it's flashed, i havent noticed anything different tho!
screenalignment issues are still present and there is only one new cab : suspend_resume_null.cab not sure what it does as i really see no difference.
i wonder why they never release any changelogs..

The screen alignment issue is a hardware fault, about this problem this is the email that I have received by htc europe:
Good Afternoon,
There are now procedures in place for fixing the Screen alignment issue with the TyTN devices. This is a hardware issue that we have identified and we are offering a replacement to owners of affected devices with two conditions.
1: The device must be returned with all accompanying accessories.
Everything that was in the box when you bought the device must be in the box when you return it.
2: The device must be a Genuine HTC Badged device. This means that the device cannot be a Vodafone v1605, an O2 XDA Trion, a T-Mobile Vario II or any other device based on the TyTN, but that is not actually a TyTN. For these devices, you must contact the Network/Reseller for further advice on this issue.
If you meet these two provisions, you may contact your nearest repair centre to arrange the swap. Please place everything back into the original box and arrange to have the device picked up. It will then be tested to confirm that it has the problem, and then it will be swapped for a replacement unit.
If you are unable to return everything, you will be eligible for a repair under the warranty. For this also, you can contact your nearest repair centre to arrange this.
I must note that this email is a standard answer. Other people have received the same email.

No at moment o2 uk doesnt sell the trion.
You can find it only in o2 german
It is possible create a MUI for this Rom?
OK i am again disappointed from this O2 sh*t realease.
The GPRS/UMTS Radio disconnects itself and i have to hard resed my device again. Now i know why i moved away from the O2 ROM. I flashed my device back to the updated O2 ROM in hope the issue was only a temporary problem and will be fixed in the new update but its not.
I am considering to replace my device. With this problem i cant live for much longer time.
Overall i am a lot more unsatisfied with the TRION. The Wizard from Cingular didnt had those major issues and performed very well. It doesnt matter if the TRION has a 400 Mhz CPU inside compared to the Wizard it works more worse and I am going back to use my Wizard until O2 has a stable release of the TRION ROM. :evil:

there are 2003SE roms wm5 roms wm6 early roms
personaly if your device works as it should now i prob would leave it alone as i cant say if printing would work with later roms

cant say its been working well?...had a few random hangs from time to time and there has been times where you get a call no ringtone heard and no way to answer it? h/ware buttons didnt work,touch screen button flashes like its been pressed but still didnt answer
only way i found to sort it out was a soft reset
so the main reason for the upgrade was an improvement in phone function rather than a printing issue?
think the main question i meant to ask really was which is the most stable version for this type of phone,most of the bugs sorted out?

i regreat to say i did try for update my spv m1000 today but my got died now when i tried i did conntect my ppc with ppc via bluetooth actvesync when i run HimaUpgradeUt.exe then a window open and shows mgs wait 30 minunt but after even 1 minunt got error also my phone got stop like dead and screen shows on top serial and on bottom it shows v1.3 i realy .sad. becouse now i cant reeboot also even ui have not data cable any body help me plz what i do now ?

Had a lot of hanging, on my M1000, but after upgrading to the WM2003SE WWE, the speed of the machine has improved a lot, and it does no longer hang, allmost no matter what I do.
I found that some of the build in Orange apps were the reason for "hangtime" and slowdowns, because if I tryed to install them, from the original Ext-ROM, all the problems came back.
So my experience is, that "Genuine English WM2003 SE " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=230279 is a major improvement, to the Orange standard WM2003
I upgraded my SPV M1000 from Orange ROM to WM5 and now to Tofclock WM6 ROM, and it works fine. All features are ok for me, it's great!!!

I've my x7500 since June and comparing with my P3300 I'm very disapointed.
GPS is too much slower then Artemis getting sattelites fixed and reception is poorer too. No VGA mode neither with WM6 upgrade. Speed loading apps similar with other 400Mhz equipments. Artemis overclocked to 265MHz is very good!
And to make it worst the Wifi that falls repeatdly with WM5, now with oficial WM6 upgrade is dead! don't detect a access point in a radius of 1 meter.
Someone with the same problem? Must I invoque warranty because it may be an hardware problem? or there is a software solution?

id prob do the warranty ... its an odd prob esp after a official upgrade...
