How to reset always open with by default - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have Sipdroid installed and I have saved a sip number in one contact. I then go into the specific contact and click on send message and this opens a dialog to select what application to use (text message or sipdroid). So I checked the box to always use sipdroid. But now every normal contact that I try to send a message it immediatly opens sipdroid and I can't send a normal sms.
How do I reset the default action to allow me to choose again?

If you go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications. You can click on the name of the application there and click then under Launch by default you can click on Clear Defaults.

[Q] Phone contact hang.

My phone hang when I open phone contact and switch tabs between contact and favourites, etc. Does anyone have this issue? Thanks in advance.
Yes, I do havethe same issue...
It happens as well when I want to insert a contact in the sms menu.
I didn't have at the start (yesterday). In the meantime I've installed Launcher Pro which used another contact app as default. then I changed the icon to the samsung contact app.
I can't guarantee that it is connected with launcher pro and the contacts... but it's a first trace.
Please, if anyone can help...
(It is my first samsung and I hope that I won't regret not having bought the sensation instead ;-) )

This worked for me:
go into settings -> applications -> and choose 'contact cache' or 'kontaktespeicher' in german.
then you find yourself in a menu where you're able to clear the cache. (mine was over one GB !!)
Then the app will automatically reload / sync all contacts on the phone with google online.
Please leave a feedback if it worked for you too.

Thanks, it's working for me. You are my life saver. I was thinking about sending my phone to service centre.
PS: It shows as 'Contact Storage' on my phone.

Failed to make a call

When I make a call using the contacts, it opens up Skype rather than dialling. Can someone offer me the hints where is wrong. Thanks!
disable automatic dialling using skype, you may have accidently enable it by mistake.
go to settings-skype - menu and disable.

Stuck Unread Message Counter

My unread message counter on the messaging app is stuck at 1, making it constantly look like I have 1 unread message, which is highly annoying. I've deleted all messages and cleared data/cache from the messaging app, but it's still there
Anyone know anything to try?

but you can delete multiple sms in same thread without any app
in my phone and o.s. (see signature) I haven't that option, do you mean long-pressing on one sms and then selecting the others? I can't do it...
EDIT: I found the solution! I opened App Ops, selected "Messaging", selected "Super SMS Quick Delete" and then I enabled "Write SMS DB" that was Denied by default

[Q] SMS on hangouts not working

It doesn't show me the SMS option whereas I can see the SMS option in
My mobile motog2 which also has the same lollipop versionas of my n9
Now what?
I'm using hangout version 2.5.83281670
I'm using the n9 lte version
Somebody please help
on a tablet you will need to have a google voice account and that its linked to hangouts
Dude... I hava done everything... For reference please check the attached screenshot of my hang out settings
Oh the whole section is missing.
On your phone, under the settings for your account does it list both your phone number and your Google voice number?
i've got the same problem
If you look at Settings > Wireless & Networks > More do you have a "Default SMS app" set? As I understand it until there is a default app set ( the Hangouts app) then in Hangouts > Settings menu will not have an SMS option (just displays your account name and "Add Google account")

For this to work, your GMAIL account needs to have GOOGLE VOICE enabled with a PHONE NUMBER.
I'm not certain, but you might also need to have HANGOUTS DIALER installed.
When you do that, a new section will appear in the settings menu (after the google account synchronizes), BELOW the "HANGOUT NOTIFICATIONS" section, called "GOOGLE VOICE - {your google voice number}". In that new section, you will find two checkboxes; "Incoming phone calls", and "Messages". Add a check beside "Messages", and you will have SMS over Google Voice.
