my son's wallaby is having a mid life crisis!!, will NOT turn on at all, the screen is in dimmed mode, screen taps/menus etc etc not working, it is just displaying the message:
Upgrading...
will take about 5 minutes.
Warning: do not remove the
USB/serial connection or power
adaptor from the pocket PC.
problem is that this message has been displayed constantly for the last 24-30hrs!!, have tried a soft re-set...nothing, then tried a hard re-set...nothing, its showing full charge, and have tried removing the SIM and SD cards as well as doing re-sets...nothing!
Please Help!!
Thanks guys.
The problem is that you propably removed your XDA from it's cradle during ROM flashing.
Can you acces bootloader (hold power then press soft reset button) ?
...Not tried that, will give it a go,
thanks for the info.
..OK, I managed to get the boot loader screen up, and ran thru the checks...all appears ok, but none of the tests relate to the OS?, so when all had been checked, and I came out of the loader screeen and turned it on again, it went back to the "upgrading..." as above, just cannot get the windows menu up at all, and activesync doesnt recognise what device it is, but activesync works perfectly on mine..........is there another level/setup program that can be acessed??
cheers guys.
So, after having access to your bootloader reflash your device using SD-Card and bootloader.
Process is described in the wiki of often here in the forum...

Hi Guys,
Need your advise, I've tried to reload the PDA Viet temp on my device so that I could reload the 4.0.0.6 ver again. The rom works great but some how on the 2nd day it start to be power draining on my 818Pro. was going to reload to play as plain before any apps installation to see if its apps issue and got stuck at boot loader.
Issue Now:
1. on running the device now it goes into boot loader and when connected.
2. doesnt seem to have any OS install and when Hard reset goes to bootloader too.
3.when try to load the ROMUpgradeUtility_NV_G4 fail to connect.
4. Now even when in Boot Loader Screen, the device goes on and off USB connection. making it impossible to transfer files to device.
Please Advise.
Thanks in advance
Try to push/hold camera, comm, and reset button, then release reset and comm but hold the camera, it will be go in the bootloader screen. At this point connect the usb cable and wait until the connection is done.
Are you sure your pda is G4?
thks some more light to the problem both hard and soft rests gives me bootloader but its turn on and off on the USB connection and last check on power is @ 90%

Hi All,
Just like to encourrage all to be persistent on resolving the issue, think my issue had been resolve, not sure why the batt hard to be charge for bout 6-8hrs by Charger(not USB connection from Computer) almost like initial charge to be able to last through the step one downgrading to wm5.
Previously I charge for bout 4hr via charger and it didnt work, but since there's not new solution I persisted to charge for a longer time and rest before I try again and it work. Thanks for all's contribution the the solutions.
First of all I’m running XP, and Active sync.
I used Soft SLP- VO.1 , I copied the NK.NBF
From a G4 safe rom into the soft slp folder.
While stuck in boot mode I did a hard reset,
Pluged in the usb and waited for power up.
Then I held the power button down and watched
Active sync try to connect at the same time started
Soft SLP . When active sync stopped I released the power button and then followed the instructions as normal. The phone went into white mode and copied all 100% but it still went into boot mode after it rebooted, but I was able to connect with the phone again. Now all we need is someone smarter then me that can figure out the rest of it. At least there is still hope for the dead ones.
update
I deleted SSPL-S.NB from soft SPL AND I got a little farther, for all that is worth.
PLease can anyone let me know the process to load a rom onto a HD2 that will not boot up....? Windows mobile device center will not detect it either. Bootlogger screen says I have SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE, and underneath it says CotullaHSPL if that is any help. I would really appreciate any help!

After task 29 you have to flash a ROM. Task 29 wipes your device so if you don't hold down the volume down key at the end of task 29 it will not have any operating system. Just remove the battery and hold down the volume down key till you see the bootloader screen. Then flash your ROM and all is ok.
after task29,when your device reboot
press botton "volume down" and will go in bootloader mode
now if you have your device stuck in white screen, remove battery cover
press red botton for softrest and press "Volume down" botton

It won't because you're in the bootloader. Does it say USB at the bottom of the bootloader screen? As long as it says USB when the phone is plugged into your computer, flash a ROM and be happy
Hello!
And what if my hd2 not entering into the boot loader?
Thanx in advance
There is only one way to get into the bootloader.
Hold down volume and keep it down....
After that press the start button and your phone will boot up.
Now you will see the tree colored screen and you're in the bootloader.
Goodluck.

When you are in the bootloader screen, connect the phone to the computer /with the usb cable/ on the same bootloader screen it will change to USB - look at the bottom of the screen:
Open the folder - on your computer - where the ROM you want to flash is:
find the "RomUpdate*.exe" or "Install.exe" /if Android it will most likely say "DAF.exe" - run it as Administrator/ file and run it. Do as it says on the screen.
Do not disconnect the cable, do not touch the device. When it is finnished it will restart the device, disconnect the cable and enjoy your new OS.

use a <4gb or preferably <2gb sd card - class 4 or 2 with LEOIMG.nbh.
HSPL3_pkg after that - make sure .nbh (as above on sd root) is your stock and you CLEAN-reinstall bootloader.
ps:
Then hspl, then radio, then magldr, then windows 7, the hacks, then call M$= LIVE!
Hi guys i have a similar problem. After task 29 i went into the bootloader but can't install any rom whatsoever. I have SPL 3.03 on my devide, mind no not hard spl but SPL. Can anyone please help me solve this issue? I also tried to flash using sd card but it doesn't work. Please help me save my hd2. Thanks in advance.
tmo-hd2 wont go into bootloader after task29
Hi guys, i am facing exact same thing which dannytgt faced (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...count=1)...but with no luck what so ever.....was running a stock rom in my hd2 3.14....wanted to try wp7 and did a task29....after that...hd2 doesnt go into bootloader screen....tried all possible combinations with/without sd,sim, holding vol down, vol up, both with power tapped...power holded etc etc...hd2 always goes into stick together screen and doesnt progress as there is os to load....opened up the mobile and tried with a pin to push the vol down switch directly also....all hardware keys were working gr8 (including vol down and up and power keys) whn win 6.5/android was running.
i know for the fact that this is reversable....if only my hd2 can get to bootloader...i will hv os running in a jiffy....
any ideas ppl? my hd2 is 3 months old ...no warrenty cos i bought it in US and using it in india..
bootloader dont load
some more details...tried to task29 (doloop) with 100% success and then my tmo hd2 wont go into bootscreen what ever i do...its stuck for ever in "stick together"...i know there is no os to load...but i dont understand y cant my hd2 go intobootloader
so far i tried
with holding volume down and power key with a single tap
with holding volume down and holding power key
with holding volume down, volume up and power key with a single tap
with holding volume down and reset button
with/without sim
with/without SD
with/without plug in wall charger
with/without plug to pc via usb cable
observations...when i pull out the battery and put it back in and then connect to computer when the phone is still off....the charging indicator LED glows in orange.
when in this mode if i switch the phone on with power/end key....it doent start...i have to pull the usb out, the orange LED still glows...and if i tap the power/end key nothing happenes...i have to pullout the battery to get it to start and eventually get stuck in "stick together"..
would really appriciate if any1 can help me get my hd2 into bootloader screen...

Isn't it ironic: Stick together!...
There is a guide on How to get back from WP7 here on the forum.
First i would sugest to reformat the card from WP7 bul...
If i understand correctly, you can't get into bootloader or magldr!?
So you can't do nothing?
You can try this sollution and if it doesn't work, go to the service center to reset it totaly.
There was a guy with the same problem here:

Try, taking out the battery for 10 seconds or so then put it in while holding the volume down key and powering up.
Got stock ROM back in first time but kiss goodbye to the data on your SD card. I had to use a Canon camera to reformat the card to get back the 14GB it was hiding.
This WORKED. Thanks a TON splinters69.
For future uses, this is what I did.
1. Took out the battery for about 30 seconds.
2. Put one of the LEOIMG.NBH on storage card
3. After putting the battery held the volume down button and pressed power button.
4. It went into HSPL mode straight away and started loading the win 6.5 OS.
You saved the day Splinters69. Thanks to Clydeb1 too for that modelIDcheckbypass.

Man, did you say blackstone? You should go into Blackstone forum
To go into bootloader, turn off the phone. Press volume down button and the POWER ON button (not start button) at the same time until the screen appear. It works on both Leo and Black Stone

Hi Guys, greetings from India!
I have a E970 which I unfortunately bricked ( in what seems to be a hard brick) during flashing an updated ROM. The phone screen now does not turn on at all, though when I connect it to my computer the power button led flickers on and off, and the PC responds as if a removable device is getting attached to it and being removed in quick succession.
In Device Manager I can see that the phone gets recognized as QHUSB_DLOAD.
When I tried to run the unbrick process via LGNPST, the phone name flashes along with the COM port name in the software, then disappears, and then comes back again. Moreover, the process errors out at 85% but pressing the power button does nothing.
Since the screen does not turn on, I am not sure whether my phone goes into a download mode or not.
So - is the phone recoverable at all or is it all over? Please help.
Thank you.

If device mgr is seeing the phone as qhusb, you done did bricked your phone. You need to jtag it to fix it. Your best bet would be to look into this... http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/lg-optimus-g-jtag-brick-repair/
