hey, searched the forum a bit but there is no real answer to this one..
where can i get the widcomm btstack for 2003se. i'm using 1.5.0.0801 from mamaich but it's not working properly..
edit: not working correctly meaning freezing today screen items like CT PLUS, spb plus. sometimes freezing entire ppc, start menu not accesible etc..
my widcomm stack 1.5.0.0801 is not conflicting with other apps ( spb apps, etc. ) but always display "could not be correctly initialized " when other apps is opened. we all know that widcomm stack is memory hogger..i think there is a .reg patch to apply to make it more stable in SE..
i have the same probs as dutty
Widcomm BT 1.5
Hi Guys!
First of all:
Copy all the BT files to windows directory, then place the BTCE in windows\startup
Second:
Use the regeditor and delete the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth
Use the reeditor and delete de HKLU\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth
soft-reset the pda...and that's all folks!!! the bt works like a charm, you can put the BT in "ON" and soft-reset your device that it connects again without problems!!
Sorry....
I forgot to say that you must run the file with the reg settings that exists in this forum.
errr cant find it (the reg) ^^
Here it goes....
Well... i'm sending in attach the file.
Cheers!
Sorry....
I forgot the file...
well, thx for the reg, but same prob as before

i already did that procedures before and my BT stack is working but as i said, it intermitently flashes " could not be initialized" when you opened an app, said internet explorer. it seems to hog all of my memory...i reckon a .reg patch to prevent it. ( just forget where.. )
PS.
upon applying that .reg. you should run this patch for the sound to run well..

where is the widcomm software itself since we already have the registry patch?
thanks
tried on the MDA Compact, doesn't run (same thing for the 1.4.59).
Hi,
When coyping cab files across to the pocket pc, all the cab files belonging to TomTom install, except the main TT cab, it just comes up with an error.
Also does anyone knowwhy after installing tomtom voice 4/5 cant be foumd by TOMTOM. i managed to install totom by manually extracting the files from the cab file! except it crash on run, I belive this to do with the fact it odes not fime the voice files?
Using WM2005 as the OS
Cheers

Where does it crash?
I've installed the cabs on my wm2005 Himalaya and it crashes on first run..
I can select the language, and define the standard settings (km/miles, time notation etc) than I come to the voice part, which also works..
But after activating the map, it crashes.. The strange thing is, it worked when I installed it on OS 1.50f.. After upgrading to 1.50h it doesn't work anymore (even when I downgraded to 1.50f)..
However, I did install Tomtom 4.4 on my 1.50f installation before installing Tomtom5... I'll try it again.. I hope it works.
Tomtom 5 install
I also had to install 4.4 first ( and config it ), and then Tomtom5
Otherwise it would crash when configuring
Hey people I flashed my TyTN to the updated HTC version (from the wiki) and am planning on going for the dopod one....if i decided to revert back to the HTC one again that IS possible right???
yes, there should be no problem on doing that.
....quick update, ive got the dopod rom on it but no 3G app or MMS. If i download the latest HTC ext_rom from the wiki how do i get that on the phone??
just unzip and install the cab files manually
Done, im still missing the voice dialer?!? the voice dial button produces an error, and the icon is missing from the settings->personal menu????
....update again
Ive settled for the I-mate ROM which works just great, includes the voice dialling app that i mentions, i also installed the HTC ext rom files and works superbly now....no problems to report infact works a tad faster than the HTC rom shipped with it.
TCPMP works fine, still no luck working with the ATI drivers but the audio stuttering (after a pause or skip to alternate part in video) is resolved so i cna now watch a video at my leisure!
Installing extended ROM
Should I just copy over the unzipped contents (cab files) into the extended ROM area or do I manually install the cab files by clicking on them within the Hermes? Thx.
From what ive seen you can do either sir. If you copy the contents into the External ROM directory (once you have unlocked it) you can just run the "autorun.exe" file and it will do the "will customise device in 3 seconds" just like on the first startup of the device.
Not sure if the Autorun.exe file will work if it is not in the external ROM directory so just run each .cab from file explorer....ignore any prompts for a restart and soft reset the device when you have finished.

Click to collapse
I am also using the imate firmware and find it better and quicker than the other HTC and Dopod rom, esp when using Tomtom 5.21.
What benefit did you get from installing the cabs from the HTC Rom?
mrvanx: Thanks for the info. Does the Program and storage space increase or decrease with the i-Mate ROM as compared to the HTC ROM? Thx.
The newest version of TomTom Navigator supports non touch screen devices.
I stumbled in this information by accident and thought it would be usefull over here.
I've tested it on a HTC StarTrek (qtek 8500 etc) with a WM 6.1 standard ROM and it works like a charm with the newest maps.
No more FakeCursor needed, you can scroll and use numeric keypad.
Version is: 7.915.9196.
Because of slightly warez related.....google is our best friend.
That's nice,
I can't even get it installed on my device. Always says installation unsuccesful.
I also have WM6.1 and same version of Tomtom.
Do you have any ideas?
If you have an older version installed on your device just unzip the new cab on your PC and rename following files:
TOMTOM~1.001 --> TomTom Navigator.exe
0000DATA.002 --> data.chk
Put the 2 renamed files in the same folder as your original installation (overwrite).
This should work.
If you don't have TT on your device, check if it's application unlocked, if not make sure it is and try again.
If nothing works, try to find a TTN 7 version that you don't have to install at all (it does excist) and use the two renamed files from above to upgrade if needed.
pm me if your out of options.
Hope it helps.

Gps bt-com ttn7 wm5
Ciao,
thank you very much for this information, i just tryed out TTN7 on my StrTrk with the original WM5 ROM.
It seems, that you need the "BLUE" Version of TomTom Navigator 7, because scrolling in the "Black" Version isn't possible and additonal, hitting the "enter" Button causes a doubleclick.
So TomTom is running and seems to be a lot faster than TTM5.2, especially entering cities now works fine.
Everythings fine so long, BUT TTN7 won't finde my BT-GPS-Mouse: Selecting the mous is similar to TTM'5.2 but I need to choose the Com-Port...but non of the four alternatives work: it should be "Serial over Com1" but TomTom won't connect. I have TTM5.2 still installed...and it works fine with the GPS Reciever...(of course its paired, and on etc...)
Does anyone has an idea or the same prob?
thx

G'Day All,
I have a T9193 that's about 3months old and have run into a Bluetooth issue.
When I start up the phone I get the message "BTTrayCE.exe is not a valid Pocket PC application"
When I try to turn on Bluetooth from Settings I get the message "Can't turn on Bluetooth"
I have had Bluettoth working before and the only thing that I think could have caused this is a failed installation of Tom Tom on the first go. I did eventually manage to successfully install Tom Tom but still can't get my Bluetooth function to work. I've tried a soft reset but that has made no difference.
Anyone have any ideas? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Franz
I would suggest a hard reset. It looks like a system file corruption to me.
tomtom jacks up the bt files by replacing them with outdated ones. go to this post and unzip the bt files and put them in your windows folder (either by activesync or total commander).
