I suggest you Google Nav, it work with the HTC Legend.
This version is still a beta version, so don't listen the voice pilot, the rest is working.

That's a bit out dated.

Hey,
I`ve just bought HD2 and I see that I can install Android software.
1.Is this ROM bugless on HD2? If not, what is the biggest bugs?
2.Can I install and run Android games, apps on Android ROM?
3. What is the best navigation software for android phones?
Sorry of my bad English,
thanks for answers
You'll find your answers in these forums - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=735 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
This forum is for Winmo ROM developement, so before it gets closed or moved by a moderator, go to the correct forums.
As for answers:
1. Not even Winmo is bugless. Read some of the threads of the android roms and you'll see the bugs. Not all roms are the same.
2. Yes
3. Don't use so can't comment

Why dont you try some of the sd builds - they are super easy to install - if you read and do what the guides say.
Then you can makeup your mind.
WinMo is good. If you only use the phone and HTC Sense apps.
Android is another experience. You have the games, video, music and ton of apps in the market.
One drawback is the office apps are only viewers, not editors and you have paid version editors in the market as opposed to free office suite in WinMo.
Here you can start:

3. FOR ME!!!! Best navigation is IGO(Motonav) or Copilot.
Both work great for me.
Hey all, I need to know how I can remove the Windows live app from my HTC HD2 running winmo 6.5, that I recently installed the "Maxsense Energy Rom" on. It came with the older version of Windows Live, and I would like to use the new one available 11.1, I believe, but you can not do this without removing the old version first, it will not work. So, bottom line is, How do you remove an app from windows mobile 6.5 that came in a cooked rom?
P.S.
I love this sight, I have learned alot, I am running a T-Mobile, HTC HD2 with winmo
6.5, with the Maxsense Energy Rom, as well as Android Gingerbread 2.3.
Thanks
You would need to unpack the rom into a kitchen, remove the app, rebuild then flash it again,
sadly most (all) cooked roms are protected and wont unpack into the kitchen.
so, the easiest option is ask your chef if they would kindly
a)make you one without that app
Or
b)let you have a copy of the kitchen
You can also try
c) dump the phone into .raw files with psdread, then use a kitchen to convert those back into a cookable format.(not 100% sure this works with cooked roms.)
can you not unpack the cab & manually transfer files to overwrite existing files using resco explorer or total commander !
I do not know why cooks load these type of apps in ROM, would make more sense to implement them via cabs at second boot thus allowing easy upgrade/removal as users require.

Hi,
You don't need to remove it, I installed v11 over the top of cooked in v10 yesterday and have no ill effects whatsoever. (I can use the Bing section, Hotmail integration and Messenger with no problems)
Hey thanks for all the responses, As far as installing the new live version 11,
you can install it, and the app goes on the phone, but when you open it using the new icon, it only opens the old version. They look very similar, but are not.
Check your version, and make sure it's 11, and not 10.7. Or... I am having a different issue than you are??? Either way, I think I will live with the old version for now, if I need to "Re-cook" The rom in order to just upgrade an app that does work. Thanks guys!!!

Android Version
Thank you for your prompt reply.
So my only solution to run Chrome it is to move to Android
Will you please advice me how difficult it is to install maybe a dual boot
in an HTC HD2.
I´m not an expert but I think that I can follow a set of steps to implement the Android 4.0 .

Hello XDA forum members,
How are you.
I am new to Win CE development and looking to develop application using C languages using Visual Studio 2005/2008 on Win 7(64 Bit) machine.
I don't have the real handset device on which the application can be tested upon, so is there any possibility of Emulator to check our application developed.
Please let me know the process, tutorials and tools.
thanks in advance.

Hi Mich-C,
I'm still interested. What tools are needed to start building ? I have C knowledge. Just don't know the specific tools for CE 6.0 development.
Thanks.

Ok.
That's what I've learned by myself:
---Programming Language:
You need to learn an object oriented language.
You can use Visual Basic .NET or C#.
I advice you C# (I developed some WinMo apps with this language)
If you have experience with C only, is better to understand the foundamentals of O.O. languages uppermost.
---Development Environment
You could use IDEs provided by Microsoft but they're quite heavy and I don't reccomend them to start.
Intead, I advice you the Sharp Develop IDE, it's light, free and open source.
---Emulators (part1)
You can download from the official Microsoft website many Windows Mobile emulators. They're released as .msi file so you can install them with just a few clicks, like any other .exe installation file.
I advice you the Windows Mobile 6.1 or 6.5 Professional emulator.
---Emulators (part2)
Windows Mobile comes with the .net compact framework 2.0 runtime preinstalled. If you want to code and run any app you need to download here the .net compact framework 3.5. Then you can install that .cab on your emulator
---Emulators (part3)
Don't test your apps on real hardware.
PDAs and PPCs are quite slow but most of all they're at least 10 years old and they have very limited storage.
The more you'll write on memory, the more you'll slow down your device.
And unlike modern smartphone that has large storage and the new trim technology, the difference with PPCs is noticeable.
I'm curious to see your apps!!
Let me know if you have any question.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge @Mich-C appreciated. SharpDevelop looks almost like old Virtual Studio. I like that
AFAIK only version 3.2 is able to build for net framework compact 3.5
I got the .Net CF 3.5 Power Toys and Windows Mobile 6 Professional + Standard SDK Refresh already.
Just framework 3.5 SDK is hard to find. Microsoft removed these older SDKs from their web. Can you provide me a link?
Hi @Traace.
This page explains everything : https://github.com/icsharpcode/SharpDevelop/wiki/Compact-Framework-Development
You can still download .net cf 3.5 SDK, It's a web installer

Thanks. Great guide on GitHub. Impressive.
But the links for 3.5 SDK are down. They lead to -> Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Runtime files.
2.0 is still up tho.

Are you sure?
Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21 open "Install Instruction" and click on the last link ".NET Framework 3.5 full package". I think that shoul be sdk
