You guys don't have to be so rude or disrespectful I haven't been on these fourms for a while and as I been rootin my phone I never once saw amywhere saying that. I might not be looking at every post like you guys do. Doesn't mean I'm trolling just means I missed it. On a side note I hope it does work in later builds or I'm have to flash another build

in general just reading the op of the rom you are downloading will tell you everything you need to know.
as to your gps woes it will be a while until the vibrant has functioning gps on CM7 (waiting on a gingerbread leak and source code as i understand it) so my suggestion to you would be to get an external bluetooth gps receiver like the ones discussed in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15466429#post15466429
I personally have the one mentioned in the op and i can tell you that it works 500% better than the stock gps on the vibrant ever did (either on eclair or froyo)
-Cheers

the reason that it seemed like the sky fell on you was, first you asked a question that has been asked in the thread that it should be asked in, oh about every 5 posts since cm7 for the vibrant was released.
But what really took it over the top, was you felt the need to make a separate thread about it, and even went so far as to say that cm7 broke your gps. had you read probably 3 of the last pages in the cm7 thread before posting this, you would have known you answer, and probably had you opened the vibrant dev section and viewed threads there, you'd have seen the public service announcement thread about gps not working.
I know some of the responses are inappropriate, but it's more about you felt entitled enough to make a dedicated thread about it rather than using the tools available to you in the first place to find your answer.

the answer to this question and more can be found by opening the vibrant dev section, and first reading the thread titles, followed by reading the first post in the rom your interested in, and looking for a place where they list what isn't working/broken.

Noted, I do plan on flashing another rom, but I am a little scared. I am reading CM7 is different from most roms and I would have to flash a new kernel and rom and etc to have it, but im still a little confused on how to do it
While I am also shocked you missed this... to answer your question, you may prefer a rom like Trigger 3.2. Its rock stable, has gps, and is themed well. it is not GB.
If you HAVE to have GB, try Asgard.

i'm not going to explain howto here, as the post right abvove mine has a link to a how to, you'll need to odin back to jfd before flashing any other rom besides miui.
basically all Froyo/Eclair Roms Have working GPS. The Big Name JVP Roms have working GPS. CM7/Miui and any variants of them do NOT have working GPS.
so just goto the development section and look at any 2.3.4 Roms NOT cm7/Miui and read the features and/or Changlog for full information. SGSII clone/hybrid and Simply Honey are excellent choices both based off JVP and have "working" gps. just make sure you read the op to understand how gps functions with those roms.
Good Luck.
just make sure you ODIN back to JFD stock before flashing anything else or you'll experience bootloops and thats annoying imo.
****** Stay away from Bootloaders if your new to all this as you can Permanently paperweight your phone if you flash a new rom hastily without reading and removing certain load files in the rom. *******
Well thanks guys I will look into it, If I go back to stock does that mean it will be unrooted? or just rooted but stock everything else?
second whats gb?
also I found a post that has a guide to undoing some stuff so im able to flash another rom besides CM7 ones so I might look into that one

GB = Gingerbread
Android Releases
Stock Vibrant 2.1 (Eclair
Froyo 2.2+
Gingerbread 2.3+
you should have a modified update.zip from rooting originally you can use that to reroot your phone and begin flashing again
Odin back to stock
3 button to recovery
update packages until you reach clockwork recovery menu then flash new rom its that easy.
if you want full functionality stay away from CM7/Miui for the time being.

you should have 3 things on your PC
Odin3 (i have V1.81)
512.pit
T959UVJFD.tar
that will get you to stock.
then from there follow the 3 button method i posted above to reroot.
and to answer your question yes the guides will work fine. and again i can't stress this enough stay away from Bootloaders, as your knowledge and research about flashing seems lacking atm you can perma break your vibrant (not meaning this offensively)
Thanks man, I will try this soon =]
I'm new to the whole rooting scene but I used to jailbreak and upgrade ipods and stuff like that. I had an videos u8150 before this and it worked great roms and all. I have cm7 on this vibrant but I wanted to know is there either a way to get the stock vibrant camera flashed on cm7 cause I hate this one, or a stock 2.3.x rom with the old can like in 2.1 in the original firmware. Sorry if I post in the wrong spot I just need help asap. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps.

Common request.
Sorry, no, it cannot be done.
Ok thanks and sorry I'm still new here any roms with the old camera or any way to tether on 2.1? Really that's the reason I upgraded

give it some time. you might find that the camera app is actually more functional.
Short answer is Yes there are other camera flashes you can put on the phone, you will have to do the research I do not remember which are the best. There are some Of the Market that will flash over the CM7 Camera as well
This is being moved to Q & A...... next time if it is a questions please put in Q&A
Ok thank your for the answer and sorry will do next time I was just in a hurry for now I restored back to stock because I love cm7 but the only reason I wanted to upgrade was for tethering and when the camera changed it kind of dissapointed me. Ill ask in Q and A next time. Also is there any way to maybe rip the cam out of the cm7 zip so I can reflash and keep the old cam? Like I said im new to all of this. Thanks for the help again!

Earlier this month, I was facing a lot of trouble with lockup and boot loops.
I have ran custom kernels, software enhancement, and ROMs. I tried apps like WakeLock and SleepLocker (they disable deep sleep, which potentially DRAINS your battery). I even tried to revert to stock for a bit, but even then the disease of the SOD (sleep of death) was present. I was about to go through all the trouble to exchange it with the Sprint Store.
The XDA community has done a lot for me, so here's my way to give in return.
My solution was revert to stock (..651.2) and update to (..651.5) with the BASEBAND UPDATE..
There are many ways to upgrade your radio (baseband), if you have S-Off simple flash the radio through hBoot, but if you're like most of us, and you have hBoot 1.5 like me, the process is a bit harder.
STEPS:
1. BACKUP with Nandroid
2. Go back to stock using PG86IMG.zip (Everyone has luck with different downloads)
3. Run all system updates (Systems > System Updates > HTC software update)
4.Re-unlock using HTC-Dev
4. Flash Custom Recovery (TWRP)
5.Restore nandroid
6. Enjoy your bug-free phone!
6.
Yep radio sometimes cause weird problems
Man ,I have been going through both of these problems since I got this phone. I really hate having the phone lock up when it is asleep in my pocket. I didn't do the downgrade I just flashed the latest radios and firmware again and i think that fixed it .but if not ill follow your guide to a T.

Well its not hard to find at all with a tiny bit of searching, but I'll bite and go ahead and tell you where to look since that's what a community does.
Go look in the Development Section under the "Roll Up Sticky" thread and you'll find what you seek.

Sorry I guess I failed to explain my reasoning. I promise im not above searching for things and I did. I also found a few zips that could have been the ones the OP used.
I was just asking for a link to confirm which firmware/radio zips he used because I still had problems after using the one I found.
But thanks for explaining

My guess is something went wrong when people did the latest update. Which would cause you issues could be hardware issues...... I never had issues on stock rom unrooted or anything stock wise...
You shouldn't need to go to a backup to fix things... If you updated righ it should work

Yup. Follow his guide.
Dl09 is OLD.
EH03 is what you want to go to stock
Superclean3 or Geewiz if you want to stay close to stock gingerbread.
But I'd recommend ics aokp glitched m5. Its pretty much the best that the fascinate can run and ever has run.

Already did And updated the gapps to 429 and used the latest build35. Build 35 has pink unicorn which so far has great performance. No big diff from milestone5 so far. Still no screen capture option, but im looking into it. Gonna test the GPS later on. That was still causing me some issues
Should be able to go into rom control, power menu, and add screenshot option to the power menu there.

Power button + volume down will take a screen shot as well.

Figured out the screenshot function like you said. Holding down thepower button makes it take 1. Now my only issue is the GPS. Won't connect.
Noticed something else. Build35 doesn't have a music player or YouTube.

Music player isn't included as most people have a specific preference, so it's bring your own. YouTube you can get easily enough from the market. Besides that's gapps and not rom related.

Gotcha Anywho still having connectivity issues with GPS? the icon is suppose to be flashing when searching for a signal inside the circle, but its not. I have everything enabled. So im unsure whats going on at this point :/
Go through the maps shortcut forbl navigation. Occasionally you may have to launch it a few times before it seeks a GPS signal. For the first lock try to do it outdoors and be patient. First lock may take a long time.

Maybe you could tell him that the software.zip was about halfway down the page on the thread you linked, instead of posting the canned response "Use the search" which yourself have failed to do as well.
Also, I've checked your profile and proper net-iquette is when someone helps you, that you thank them. There are many people (Samsgun357, Xeniosm, N00B_in_N33D,..) that have been trying to help you over the past few weeks and yet you haven't "thanked" any of them. It's free and doesn't really mean anthing, but it is the thought that counts, know what I mean. Makes them want to help you further. You are limited to 8 on a PC and unlimited on Tapatalk/XDA app. According to your young, so we'll just chalk it up to that.
****************************
OP, here is what Lustergfx was trying to tell you (but there is far more to it than that). See the link I posted just above this. Look at item #6. Some of those links should help you out.
<SNIP>
ADDITIONAL TWEAK
Check out this thread here and read through the OP carefully. A few days ago I flashed "S.gps.zip" and I've had great results with it on Bionix 1.3.1 with the KA7 modem. I didn't see an increase in accuracy, but I did see a HUGE improvement on the speed my GPS locked and the number of birds locked too. I played around with all of the 2.2 modems last night and they all saw improved results.
If you decide to flash one of those zips, I recommend making a Nandroid backup first. In reading through the thread it appears that there are a few people that had their flashes result in broken GPS's. I have no idea why, I'd imagine it's because they didn't clear GPS data and they just think it's broken. I recommend making a backup, shutting off your GPS, booting into CWM, flashing the zip, rebooting, clearing GPS data, turning your GPS on and enjoying locks. And, as always, I recommend using GPS Test by Mike Lockwood to test your GPS every time you make a change.
The Super GPS should work on any ROM on an Vibrant, but it looks like a lot of people have tried it on 2.2 ROMS so be aware that, as always, there's the chance you may brick your device. If it works for you, be sure to thank jellette for his work. As always, I take no responsibility if this messes up your phone. I'm just relaying what worked for me.
