[Q] Is there a RedBox app for WinMo? - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

I use RedBox and would like to access RedBox on my HTC HD2 through a dedicated app, like Blockbuster-On-Demand or NetFlix. Does anyone know of a RedBox app for WinMo?
I tried to get the one from Modaco but I can't because my account has never been activated there.

Nope, they only have it for iPhone so far.

Bloomberg application for Windows Mobile

According to many news sites from the summer (like these : http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2008/jun08/06-10BloombergMobilePR.mspx and http://visualstudiomagazine.com/news/article.aspx?editorialsid=9987), there is apparently a Bloomberg application for windows mobile similar to the iphone app. Yet, I cannot find any place to download this. Does anyone have any information on this?
Seems to be more or less an Asian thing, neverless here the MSN Search results: http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=Bloomberg+"Windows+Mobile"+download&src=IE-SearchBox
still cannot find a download site with that search from msn.com
http://bbmobile.bloomberg.com/winmo.html
yeah ...check out guys with above link ..its 472kb only cab file
Looks like you might need a Bloomberg Professional Account in order to use the Mobile Application.
I installed the .cab file on my phone, (then registered on bloomberg via the normal bloomberg website using my pc), but cannot login via the app on my mobile. It does not recognize my login name and I cannot register via the mobile...Any ideas???
Winmo is losing out big time.

Indeed, there is a bloomberg app for winmo, but it is not free. the site to download is http://bbmobile.bloomberg.com/winmo.html , but you got to register to use it. The normal account you registered cannot be use on the bloomberg winmo app. To use it, you need to call up to bloomberg and sign up a "bloomberg anywhere" account. I did call up for the same issue. to sign up, it will cost thousand per month, while iphone is giving it for free. Even Big Players such as Yahoo and Autodesk went over to iPhone.
Now u see the reason for iphone wave. If this continue, iPhone will monopolise the smart phone market. Some ppl like me, thought that Blackstone is a potential iPhone killer. After get the blankstone, I will say blankstone is good, BUT it is nowhere close to what iPhone have to offer. Some even think that Palm Pre could be the next iPhone killer. But after the review, I think not.
My next phone set could be iPhone. Hope Winmo will catch up by then. Good Luck to Winmo user like me. Major thing i still using Blackstone, is GPS and bluetooth. If iPhone can resolve these issue somehow, I dun think any of the other phones can stand before iPhone any more.
Its here! the non-pro version like for the iphone.
Been looking awhile for this, wonder why they are so quiet about it..

Works great, Thanks
perfect. thanks a lot. any alternatives?
Thanks for the link. However, I cannot get it work on my Jasjam wm 6.1. I get the following error message:
Bloomberg Mobile.exe
MissingMethodException
File or assembly name 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version=3.0.3600.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=3BE235DF1C8D2AD3', or one of its dependencies, was not found.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a workaround? I'll be very grateful for any assistance.
Hi,
Could you pls supply the cab file?
Thanks.

[Q] Any way to get the Archos to spoof a phone to Google Market

There is a paid app from Navioinics that I want to buy for my A70IT but I cannot see it from Google Market:
I can see it from AppBrain, but I still cannot load it.
I suspect that this is because Navionics filter market access to only those devices that they have certified: Samsung Galaxy, Acer Liquid, HTC Desire, HTC Dream, HTC Hero, HTC Incredible, HTC Tattoo, Motorola Droid, Nexus One and Xperia x10.
Is there any way to get an A70IT to pretend it is one of these devices?
TIA. Don.
PS. I have contacted Navionics and requested that they add the Archos tablets to their list, but since Archos does not belong to the OHA and cannot officially offer Google Market I suspect that this will not happen any time soon.
I was able to buy copilot on my Nexus, install it, uninstall it, get the key, sideload it to a101, install it with key.
Depending on key generation with navionics, you should be able to dl it on cert device, back it up with astro or something and then side load it. if it has a separate installer and internal product checking, then you may be SOL.
is there a virtual android image for the SDK that could work ? to make the market believe that you have phone and gps on hte device. Then one would get the app on the SDK emulator and extract it to then push it to the real archos device ?
Was anyone successful in using the Virtual image for that purpose?
I am looking for the same thing, just some apps that I could use but cannot be downloaded from the market because of filters.

More than likely this is a "protected" app. Protected apps are the only apps that do not show up on the market, even after the market fix.
Can you explain to this noob exactly what a "protected" app is? What is protecting or protected from?
I'm having the same problem, except the app actually showed up and was downloaded. But after starting it, there was a dialog that popped up stating "Territory Restricted", and that it could only be used in the US. Problem is, I *am* in the US. The app is "Thumbplay".

[Q] Xfinity

I may be in the minority here. But on my laptop I use Xfinity, quite often. When I pull up http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/ on my tab and then attempt to watch an HD video it tells me I need Microsoft Silverlight.
I have tried all browsers available to no avail. Any information would be helpful.
There's no silverlight for android.
The Mono team (the guys who make silverlight work on linux) supposedly had a Honeycomb beta of Moonlight running back in April, but I haven't heard a word since then.
The big problem has and will always be that Microsoft refuses to give any pointers about how it works, so it's all reverse engineering and hacky at that.

I have the Xfinity app. I was hoping to watch shows on my tab. Thank you all for your feedback.
Best bet would be to bombard Comcast with requests for HC app. The ipad one works fine.

[Q] Remote PC APK?

I was in Best Buy the other day and saw that an app called "Remote PC" was installed on a few tablets and (I think) on the newest Galaxy S4 phones. I've searched the Play store for this app, but I can't find it. Even googling 'Samsung Remote PC' didn't come up with anything. Does anyone have this app or know where I can get it? Thanks.
i am not familiar with that specific app, but there are loads of remote desktop apps out there. Teamviewer and the new google chrome remote desktop are some of my favorites.
I use PhoneMyPC myself. Same concept.

Passwordsafe

Hi,
I was wondering if there is an app for saving passwords. I use the passwordsafe on my Blackberry Classic for now and thats the only thing why I am carrying two phones.

Bump!
I know there was a Lastpass app, but it wasn't functioning that well, due to lack of copy/paste functionality between apps, but I'm wondering if it has improved? And, more importantly, if Keepass has moved in yet?
