Calendar Subjects, please help!

Hi
Please help with this small thing, its driving me insane!
When i'm out and about i use my xda to create new appointments, most of my appointments are recurring ones, e.g. 'night out' or 'driving lesson'.
How do i edit the set list of subjects for a new appointment? the location field seems to mostly remember my locations, but the subject field is CRAP.
I can't find any option to edit the selection for a subject, is there any program or registry hack to achieve this.
many thanks.
Calendar Appointment List
Good Point Well Made!
Somebody please help with this annoying little problem!
Try using another callendar program like...Pocket informant
Regards,
Primoz
I don't want to use another calendar program. The standard one is adequate apart from this small annoyance. It's been a while but I'm sure my Palm allowed me to do this about 5 years ago!
yeah i agree pocket informant is overpowered to the point of being bonkers
i want to remember when i'm next going out, not assign an icon to it, sort it, filter it, group it, negotiate world peace, remotely connect to yahoo to establish my friends availability, and do a quick search on carling available for the area.
odds are i've been drinking and just want to easily put in some quick recurring event. sure my treo used to do it.
trying a smartphone at the moment, far better for pub situations

TRUE XDA PPC2002 SYNC WITH OUTLOOK2002

Looks like this is common problem: I am heavy user of Siemens SX56 PPC2002 (a.k.a XDA, a.k.a T-Mobile MDA). In Outlook 2002, Contacts folder in Outlook contains subfolders - to structure big (more than 3000 items) number of contacts. The same story with Inbox and Notes. ActiveSync v.3.7.1 synchronizes only top level of all folders – thus I miss biggest part of the needed data. Ok, I could manage Inbox – manually select every subfolder in ActiveSync settings, but nothing can be done with Contacts and Notes. I do not want to have mess in Contacts by copying all of it in one flat folder.
If somebody aware of the solution – please let me know.
Thats a hard one to do, but take a look at the below programs.
Outlook 2002 Add-in: Pocket Contact Synchronizer 1.2

For Notes you might want to take a look at HPC Notes its what I use:

Hi Qman,
BIG thanks for your help. Somehow or other your recommendations help to resolve all my questions.
=Outlook 2002 Add-in: Pocket Contact Synchronizer 1.2
Good but stupid – do not syncs in both ways, simply dumps all your contact folders to one place for sync. What it means is that when you change the contact details in you device (and you’d definitely do it) it would be synced with that ‘dump place’ and would be lost after next dumping... I still look for the soft like HPC Notes but for Contacts...
HPC Notes
Superb, cannot say anything bad – it add to the notes functionality I need!!!
Amazingly, why neither M$ not 3rd party developers do not create real pocket outlook which, at least, would follow the same BD structure, to have all vital info in sync and handy????
I do believe that hundreds of heavy users would buy it...
best regards, Andrey
Great!

Later,
Hello !
Please try mNotes from CommonTime if you use Lotus Notes, it's an excellent program which never failes, with this you can add all your subfolders and have them syncronized as you like with different settings.
Patrik
Patrik,
I’m Outlook user, thus Lotus Notes is not a solution now. Thanks anyway.
Qman,
Big Daddy (Pocket-On-Schedule 5) looks rather ancient This is the most complete pocket replica of Outlook DB and seems that sync is bi-directional, but, again, several cons.:
- Hierarchical folders structure in Outlook translated to flat structure in Device. I.e. does not mater what level of depth folder was – it becomes level-1 folder. At least there is no need for Outlook Pocket Contact Synchronizer.
- Program interface is awful: I wish I had functionality and interface friendliness of Pocket Informant and DB structure of Pocket-On-Schedule. In addition, DB is different from standard pocket outlook, thus, cannot be used by any other application (e.g. Pocket Informant).
- Moreover, pity that software not developing further.
Now, best solution I see is combination of:
- Outlook Pocket Contact Synchronizer 1.2 - to grab all contacts
- Pocket Informant – to manage contacts
- HPC Notes – for notes
and last, tell me one thing does M$ in PPC2003 changed this situation? I see that sooner or later somebody would develop software I dream about.
I've the same problem !!! it's incredible that there is NOT an easy solution... Palm OS as at least two... and very simple...
however, I found that intellisync http://www.intellisync.com/palmce_trial_dldml.html is very easy and usefull, but it does not manage notes...
I've found Companion Syncronize http://www.companionlink.com/products.htm which could be a solution, but I'm not able to run it...
Other suggestion?

[Q] calandar problem...please help

When I change the time zone, either manually or automatically, the times of my appointments in the calendar app all change as well.
For instance, if I travel from central time zone to eastern time zone, all of the appointments will shift to an hour later.
I travel a lot, and this has become quite problematic. Can anyone help?
anyone?
It's driving me 'round the bend.
I do not understand why this is a problem....
All appointments are linked to UTC/GMT.
Therefore if you change timezone, your appointments follow suit.
The HD2 has the ability to work with two timezones
(windows key, settings, more, clock)
Tab time, if you set "visiting" your appointments will move in time. (because of lock to GMT)
If you on the other hand changeyour home time it will also automatically change the times. (because of lock to GMT)
The only thing I can suggest is plan your appointments in GMT time, then all appointments will automatically move to the correct time in the timezone.
What I mean:
If you need an appointment at 13:15 EST (UTC-5), and you are in Amsterdam at the moment (UTC+1) (Note UTC=GMT) then the appointment should be planned in at 19:15 (conversion from EST to UTC adds 5, from UTC to Amsterdam +1)
This is actually also the time you should make a phonecall to someone in EST at 13:15. (To rech a person at 13:15 in EST, you will need to call them at 19:15 Amsterdam time..)
Now if you move to the EST region, adapt your clock, all appointments will shift in time, resulting in the planned appointment beeing scheduled at 13:15.
The other option (if you do not like this), is to look for a second clock, which looks at the earlier mentioned "Visiting" time, without activating visiting Time (leaving allways on home time, not adapting that one to your new timezone)
Clocks Like SPB Time, handy clock ar just two apps wher you can see multiple timezones at once. (Commercial apps, quite expensive)
But there are a lot of freeware alternatives too, but then you will have to look for yourself (and WM6.5) as loads of freeware clocks are for PPC2003, wm5, wm6 seldom for wm6.5
I hope this will help you.
Hi Wilco !
I am facing exactly this problem since now I use my HD2-Sense calendar as my calendar "on the go" (till now I used Google-mobile app to call up my calendar)
I am syncing now my Google-Calendar via Active-sync/Exchange and it is really annoying when I am in a different time zone that all my appointments shift in time and it would be a hell of work to register appointments in UTC and wouldn't make sense since when I look up appointments in my home place they are shifted to local time too.
On the other hand I need the local time on my home screen when in a different time zone.
Isn't there a handy way to overcome this ? Having the clock show the local time AND the calendar keeping the appointment dates to home time ?
Maybe a reg-tweak?
Does maybe anyone know where in the registry I find the coding for the calendar so that I can play around a bit .............
Just for info: got in contact with HTC support. They answered: it´s not possible to have local time AND calendar dates correct. It´s an either - or
I mean: how stupid is THAT ??????
Now finally I found a somehow easy solution to this problem since HTC is of absolutely no help and won´t solve in the next 30 years
Before You leave Your time-zone call up google calendar in any browser, go to "settings" and switch time zone to the time-zone of Your destination.
Then resync Your calendar.
Once You come back change time-zone again in google calendar.

[Q] Seeking the Impossible Calendar App

I'm new to Android, have a non-rooted Tranformer TF101 and prefer to keep it that way for now. I need a stand-alone, non-syncing calendar app that allows me to add typed notes to each day's appointments and to attach .jpg and - here's the impossible part - .pdf files to each appointment. I also want password protection for the entire clendar.
I tried Jorte, but can't add .jpg or .pdf files to the appointments - unless I just can't figure out how, which I'm not ruling out. I've tried Private Diary. While it's not in the monthly calendar view I prefer, I could add .jpg files to each day. . . but then it kept crashing.
I love my Sunbird calendar and would go all-Android if there were something like it available. Anyone want to write this app for me? I'm a lawyer and I know other lawyers would find this useful.
Thanks!
