I'v jst got the 2.1 update for my hero on orange, uk. I want to be able to install to my sd card, but I have no idea whatsoever on how to go about it. any help would really be appreciated
Follow the guide "complete newbie guide to install a custom rom" thread in the android development section. You will need to put on a custom rom that supports apps2sd, which most of them do. Im not sure if your hero needs a goldcard tho, but if you dont, follow the first 3 steps and the apps2sd section. Took me less than 30 mins and i dont know anything about android
You're not able to use Apps2SD on the official releases. It has to be enabled on the ROM itself AFAIK. You'll need to root and install a custom rom.

This is the stock ROM, with A2SD added.

Middle link is the one I guess you want
I did try to search but can't find the answer. I am about to root my new replacement TB. My old phone was rooted and running the stock rom from the original rooting thread. So my question is in the last flash of rooting do you have to use the rom in the thread or can you go straight to bamf or whatever? Thanks
Once your rooted you can go to any Rom you want. Some want you to use a certain radio though.

Im using Eaton ROM 1.5.3 with MR2.5 radio...check it out it is a great build...
Just got my rezound today, experienced flasher, but with s-off phones.
I have successfully unlocked the bootloader, and rooted the phone and installed the amon-ra custom recovery, from what I've read it seems to be the most popular for this phone, if another one is better please let me know.
But the flashing of custom roms has me a little confused and I couldn't find a good guide to do it, what I want to do is keep my gb bootloader, so I can get s-off when it comes out and install a fairly stock rooted rom based on the ICS OTA with wireless tether capability
Is BAMF Rezound ICS v2.1 Official based on the OTA, I'm not familair with rezound firmware history, if not which are and what steps do I have to take to install it.
I read something about bootloops if you don't install a fix.
Thank you very much for any help you can provide
BAMF ICS 2.1 is a good stable option for a custom ICS rom. Its very stable and fluid and fairly close to stock ICS with Sense 3.6. It has a few tweaks Joel threw it but all the core components are there. As a far as keeping the same bootloader that you mentioned there is a patch in that thread that has to be flashed since you are not gonna be on the lastest HBoot or firmware. Just make sure to flash the kernel since we don't have S-Off.
I read in recent threads that the new leak ucld3 might have a chance of bricking our phone. It is recommended to odin back to recent good GB or ICS build.
I know that the leak was just released a few hours ago but has anyone had a problem so far? Would a nandroid back to a 'safe' build be the same as an odin?
No problems here check out my new post and it will walk you through the whole process and getting cwm recovery and root back.

I have a stock rooted 912. As I understand it, I could install the leak as if it came over the air from Verizon, but if I want to install any of the developers' ROMs based on it I have to install safestrap. Is it possible for a dev to debloat and tweak the leak, say for battery life, but leave it so it installs from stock recovery?
