If your all set up properley you should be able to connect your phone via usb to the PC,
then open a command window and type>"adb shell devices"
your phone should show in the window something like HTLK12345
now type> "adb shell reboot recovery"
this should boot your phone into recovery mode.
Hope this helps.

Do you have 32 or 64 bit Windows xp?
They should still work with XP as far as I know.

Yesterday i format my pc, and the problem still there
Have you followed the guide I suggested???!!!!!???????
.... Then use BTDAG's guide in my signature to reinstall the recovery.
I follow the guide and nothing
Which guide did you follow?.... What did you do?.... what happened?..... did anything happen?...... "NOTHING" doesn't give us much to go on!!!!
I try everything on this guide [Guide] How to Setup Correct Hero Drivers (for x86 & x64 users) and nothing happen

got the same problem on my xperia ray
I had this problem earlier.
Well windows 8 does allow unsigned fastboot drivers to get installed. I'm assuming u r installing drivers from file in flashtool folder.
Follow the procedure in This link to disable driver signatures.
Reboot system after procedure done, then install the fastboot drivers they should work fine.

It's a pleasure. If any moderator put this discussion in relief would be better :highfive:
What is the cause of that? From my knowledge they use the same driver? ADB cannot detect device but fastboot can... This occurs in both windows 7 and xp.
Any help ?

Firstly check if driver is installed in device manager, then try to add its vendor id in %UserProfile%\.android\adb_usb.ini

Thanks for help, but I take what I said back, neither adb nor fastboot recognizes devices. It only works because I use device code...Using "fastboot devices" gives me nothing...
Also, where is .android folder in windows xp? I changed it in windows 7 (doesn't work), and now i want to try in xp?
Thanks again.

what hes trying to tell you is that you need to make sure you have the proper drivers for your phone installed in windows. what type of phone is it?
hey guys this is the new thread as the previous thread can not be monitored now as the owner of that thread @Ivan93tm don't have xperia go anymore
so here i start
requirements
Download and install JDK tools form Java here.
Download SDK android from this site.
usb_driver.zip - 8.68 MB
for installing the new sdk in windows 8
extract the sdk to a convenient place
run sdk manager and download Extras file "google usb drivers".
if sdk manager don't run then follow these steps
open sdk/tools/android.bat with your favorite editor.
find this code
set java_exe=
call lib\find_java.bat
if not defined java_exe goto :EOF
then replace this with
set java_exe="D:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_07\bin\java.exe" (make sure you give your java.exe file path)
save android.bat then run android.bat as administrator and you are done your sdk will run.
now follow the steps
go to settings in windows 8 then go to general then in advanced setup click restart now.
then go to troubleshoot --> Advanced option --> Startup settings --> Restart.
then you will get a window with some options choose number 7. Disable Driver Signature Enforcement.
or you can do it through cmd lines.
open cmd as administrative.
type "bcdedit /set testsigning on" and restart PC
and when bellow steps are done then at the end type this type "bcdedit /set testsigning off" in cmd and restart PC
power off you phone.
go to control panel --> system and Security --> System --> Device manager.
now connect your phone in fastboot mode i.e connecting to usb while holding the volume + button
USE USB 2.0 ONLY.
now S1 fast boot device is appear click fastly on it and update driver.
now when phone turn in normal mode unplag phone (keep open update driver windows).
select driver from folder
then select "chose manualy from a list of driver in computer".
browse from disk and select "android_winusb.inf" from "...\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver" and select "android bootloader interface.
before click next plug again the phone in fastboot mode.
click next and your done.
EDIT :
For WINDOWS 8.1
just update your windows from store
or download from here

uninstalling drivers
Light on phone turns green, but then just goes into charging mode.

Tried holdin volume up instead, light goes blue, but still get "USB device not recognised"
green is for flashmode and voilet is for fastboot mode and try with volume up button pcc uses flashmode so it tells you to put with volume down and did your phone is detected by pcc if not try installing pcc again and then disable windows verification and then try again

Try installing the drivers from flashtool with the steps in this post?
Good day is this woking on wndows 8.1 too ??
On my Windows 8.1 64-bit at step 8 it doesn't recognize it as S1 fastboot device.
When I select android_winusb.inf and click OK, it says the folder specified doesn't contain a compatible driver for my device, make sure it is designed to work with Windows x64-based systems.
So I can't. ;(

I had safestrap so I put it in adb sideloader mode. And your device should be detected in device manager, if not install the right drivers. then go in cmd and navigate to adb file in platform tools from the package you should've downloaded. Then enter adb USB devices and it should show it connected. -windows xp

Oh, trust me that's not your phone being bricked. You guys seriously need to know the correct vocabulary.
Bricking the phone: The phone's only use is to use it as a literal brick. It does not turn on, does not recover, does not charge, does not do anything and it can never be restored.
HOX+ can NOT be bricked unless you are S-Off'ed. Now that we got that out of the way,
you seem to understand that ADB is the solution here, that you need to sideload a rom, the question that you have is the adb does not recognize your phone, so follow these steps:
-Connect the phone using a different usb port, (basically thats the easiest thing), if its 2.0 then try 3.0 and vice versa.
-Restart your computer
-Restart your phone
-If you are on windows Vista and later, open start menu search for "cmd" then right click and run it as administrator, then you need to cd to your adb directory.
Code:
cd C:\Android\sdk\platform-tools
for example. then try adb devices.
Anyway hope you get it to work and have fun

The only thing I can do is use fastboot , thx for noticing that I know I need adb sideload If I look in devices on my PC I can see 'ONE' with a yellow triangle next to it ( so this means drivers) I downloaded my HTC drivers and I right clicked on the device and then update from PC , I go to the folder where I installed it and click on search and it says it can't find a driver for this device.
I also tried 4 different USB ports both 2.0 or 3.0 , no result. I also tried to install TWRP instead of cmw but on TWRP my touchscreen doesn't work while on cmw it does. So i went back and flashed my recovery to cmw again ( I tried version 2.6 - 2.7.0.1 , no result )
So my problem right now can be solved once my device can be recognized by my PC. (Have HTC maneger installed , also downloaded drivers formy phone , got fastboot and adb on my PC )
For anyone who knows thanks

Hmmm. I would say in the device manager right click on the one and uninstall. Then in fastboot mode unplug and replug the device, let it install fastboot again and then try if adb can read it now.

This has happened to my phone twice... fixed it the first time by using USB deview to remove all Android/HTC drivers, then reinstalled them with the HTC Sync installer. Couldn't get that to fix it last time though, so I tried another computer and it worked just fine. So my advice would be to find another computer and try it.
